Höfnin Restaurant

We got to the restaurant a little early thinking we’d just get drinks and wait for our dinner reservation. Instead the staff welcomed us and sat us early. The atmosphere is so quaint and lovely. You get a great view of the harbor. However, the food is the standout part of this restaurant. We got the mushroom soup and it was quite honestly one of the best soups we had in all of our trip to Iceland. Then we got the lobster and pesto mushroom risotto and it was everything you could ever hope for from a lobster dish. Rich, succulent, buttery, but the arugula and pesto sauce really helped to tone down the richness and make it a really enjoyable meal.

I had the reindeer salad and lamb shank at this establishment. We arrived twenty minutes before the closing time, yet the owner and staff were very cordial and accommodated us. The staff was very friendly and assisted us with transportation and other matters. The food was extraordinary. The reindeer and lamb were both reportedly from Iceland and locally sourced. The flavor, preparation, and presentation of the dishes were all very appetizing and made for a memorable experience.

Whenever you're in Reykjavík go to have a meal at Höfnin. I've been there twice this week, and I ate different meals. All of them were very tasty. The staff and the owner are friendly and accommodating. The location is gorgeous by the waterfront. Höfnin is among the best restaurants in town.

Very unassuming restaurant with great food! Crispy fish and chips, very flavourful paella and the best brioche bread and butter pudding I’ve ever eaten. Yum! Oh and the wine was great too.

A nice location and nice atmosphere in Höfnin Restaurant. I had the Seafood Soup for a light lunch and it was superbly delectable!! Also, we had the Asparagus Soup (soup of the day) and it was delicious and perfectly prepared as well ! And great service too!

Very nice and convenient location for us to grab a lunch straight after whale watching. It was about 12:30 on a Wednesday so it was relatively quiet. Had a good view of the dock while eating. Very enjoyable lunch.

Great restaurant! Best food we had all week. The Lobster risotto was cooked to perfection. I'm allergic to fish and the chef came out to hand me my meal personally and ensured they took special consideration when preparing the meal. Really appreciated the personal touch.

Amazing restaurant, the service was really kind and incredibly fast, I was unfortunately in a hurry, but it was no problem for their team I was served with an incredible fish stew in mear seconds. I can highly recommend this restaurant in Iceland.
