Highly Likely in Highland Park is a chic, sun-soaked café boasting a cozy ambiance and a curated wine selection, perfect for lingering over locally-sourced bites.
"Highly Likely’s Highland Park outpost offers an outstanding option for all-day drinking and dining, starting with coffee in the morning and stretching to wine and cocktails as the sun gets low. The interior looks like something straight out of Palm Springs, with a mid-century design sense with a salami-colored counter and orb-shaped chandeliers. The patio offers a generous amount of seating, shaded by canopies overhead and trees spread throughout. Snack on French toast if headed over for breakfast, or a fried fish sandwich if in search of something more savory. Between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., Highly Likely offers a menu of snackier bites like marinated olives and yuzu deviled eggs." - Rebecca Roland
"While we like sitting inside Highly Likely’s beige-toned and sky-lit interior, the backyard at their Highland Park location is a true stunner. Located on the main drag of Figueroa, the patio has a fully stocked bar and dozens of bistro tables where you can sit with a fig negroni and pretend you’re in a secret garden behind an artist’s studio. Tall plants give a sense of privacy you’ll appreciate on a date, or at least a dinner with people you’d want to have a conversation with. Drop by before sunset and you'll see just as many four-legged animals as humans." - brant cox, arden shore, sylvio martins, cathy park
"Highland Park is the perfect pick for Highly Likely’s second location. It’s a neighborhood that apparently loves an all-day cafe (there are at least five others along Figueroa), and also needs more reasonably priced places to eat pasta with friends. The space kind of resembles an upgraded WeWork with its excessive foliage and open floor plan, and the laptop crowd dominates until 5pm. That’s when the counter-service cafe flips into a sit-down dinner spot with dishes like pappardelle bolognese and mushroom piccata. This Highly Likely is also home to a truly outstanding backyard patio where you can sit with a fig negroni and pretend you’re in a secret garden behind an artist’s studio." - brant cox, sylvio martins, andrew ryce, cathy park
"This all-day cafe in Highland Park looks a bit like an upgraded WeWork with its excessive foliage and open floor plan, but expect a full scene to develop by late morning. You’ll spot plenty of laptops (there’s free wifi until 5pm), but if you’re hoping to avoid any reminders of work, head to the back patio. Here, in this garden-esque space, there’s always a spare fig tree to sit under and a kale salad always tastes better when you’re sitting on a patio. " - brant cox
"Though the interior is comfy and stylish, it’s all about the patio at Highly Likely in Highland Park. The stunning restaurant fills up quickly, especially the outdoor bar that serves frozen daiquiris on weekends and a cocktail menu at all other times. The daytime menu is the same as the original West Adams restaurant, but chef-partner Kat Turner’s dinner options are all new. Starters include yuzu deviled eggs and chicken liver mousse, while Midwest comforts from Turner’s childhood are featured with fettuccine Alfredo, fried chicken schnitzel, and steak au poivre. — Mona Holmes, reporter" - Cathy Chaplin, Eater Staff
