"Tucked up under the eaves of the Hotel Helvetia are two apartments, and I’ve stayed in one on every visit. The walls of the apartment are hung with artworks by Verena Loewensberg, Erik Steinbrecher, James Turrell, and Beat Zoderer and there’s a Hästens bed in each. But for lifelong insomniacs, like me, the real luxury is a kitchenette that allows me to make a nice cup of tea before the cafe downstairs is open, a big table for working, and walls of leaded glass windows that open wide so I can let February’s fat snowflakes and the sound of the churchbells drift in." - Maggie Harrison

"The boutique-y 19th-century Hotel Helvetia, on the Sihl, is a go-to for gallerists en route to Art Basel."

We booked the standard room with a city view, which was really nice. However, be aware that you can hear the tramway. The price was a bit high, but considering we made the reservation for December 31st just two weeks in advance, it was understandable. They have a library room where you can enjoy coffee, tea, water, books, and board games, which is a nice touch. I would have hoped that breakfast was included, considering we paid approximately €320 for one night.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations! The food was divine, and the spa treatments left me feeling rejuvenated. The attention to detail, from the crisp linens to the ambient lighting, was impeccable. A must-visit for anyone seeking relaxation and indulgence

Good, clean room. Bed was big and comfortable. Wardrobe was big and had a lot of closet space. Washroom did not have a proper shower cubicle. Options in breakfast, were limited. It's a standard business hotel. Will recommend it for short business trip stays.

We stayed one night on our return to USA. The hotel is well kept. Rena at the front desk was very nice. We had a small bite in the bar. We loved the Paloma and curry sausages. Breakfast was typical for the area. The only negative is they don't have any space to pull a car off the roadway to load or unload baggage. Taxi had to pull up on sidewalk. One taxi resisted this and wanted us to haul our things across a very busy intersection.

Nice and small hotel but expect a lot of noise from the trams right outside the windows. Walking distance to the center, harbour and most tourist attractions or you can take the trams from one of the stops near the hotel. ||However wildly overpriced breakfast! (CHF 25 pr. person for a very simple "bread and butter"-buffet)

Guest experience is 5 stars all around, from the sleeping accommodations to how they treated us during and after the stay. Highly recommend no better hotel in Zurich. Near everything worth noting including museums and Christmas markets.

Small hotel, and small room, but very comfortable bed. Nice restaurant, excellent breakfast and great staff.||Well located, close to the Central station (less than 10 minutes walk) and the river. Direct train from the Airport to the Central station, which takes less than 15 minutes.||Perfect for business in the center of Zürich.

The hotel staff was indeed very helpful and accommodating, which made my stay more pleasant. However, one of the drawbacks was the size of the room. It was considerably smaller than expected, which made it a bit challenging to move around comfortably, especially if you had multiple pieces of luggage. On the bright side, the hotel's location was relatively convenient, with a subway station nearby, making it easy to get around the city. This accessibility was a definite plus for exploring Zürich's attractions.
