No-frills joint serving Texas-style barbecue like brisket & ribs plus classic sides & gourmet sodas.
"Helmed by classically trained, Swiss-born chef Ara Malekian, this barbecue joint at the end of Harlem Road in Richmond is a true gem. Brisket, ribs, and sausage are smoked low and slow over wood made from vintage oak wine barrels, and desserts like chocolate bread pudding and pecan pie are worth saving room for." - Brittany Britto Garley, Eater Staff
"Harlem Road Texas BBQ is off to a good start: the new barbecue spot in Richmond hosted its grand opening event last week on January 12. The restaurant posted on Facebook that it served 200 diners before running out of food. “People were lined up in the cold since 3:45 pm, waiting for us to open our doors at 5 pm and we really appreciate the support!” Harlem Road Texas BBQ is now open at 9823 Harlem Road from 3 p.m. to until food is sold out on Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. until food is sold out on Saturday and Sunday. Expect to find traditional Texas BBQ with a slight twist, from house-made barbecue sauce infused with Armenian coffee to meats smoked using decade-old red wine oak barrels. Check out the menu here, with beef brisket from 44 Farms, along with meats like house-made sausage, ribs, half chicken, and pulled pork." - Adele Chapin
