The older bar woman (working on Tue night) is incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Why dont you just put a sign, customers not welcome in front so we dont bother trying and you spare us this horrible experience. Why is it so hard to just be polite to people who want to pay for the drinks and enjoy a conversation? We walked out after this treatment. No need for this rudeness! And we are not even tourist. We are locals.

Typical Berlin bar no BS just good natured clientele and friendly staff selling good pils. Always good for an art crowd to assemble plotting their next biennial at the small bench table in the back. I luckily haven't encountered the rude barmaid that other reviewers seem to have an issue with.

One of the most beautiful bars in Berlin. Amazing coffee in an vintage bar atmosphere. Really comfortable and located in a peaceful quarter. It’s a must.

Nice atmosphere but incredibly rude service. My change was short by 10€ and reading the comments this seems to happen regularly. The woman at the counter - dissed me for not drinking alcohol - send us back and forth - complained that our table did not order enough - gave me too little change - constantly had this annoyed and grumpy attitude that makes you feel uncomfortable The bar was full of people so I have no doubt that they were doing fine - so why this attitude?

The woman at the bar gave us some peanuts by mistake and we thought it was a courtesy snack, since we had bought 4 drinks. After starting eating then, she claimed that they were thought for some other clients at the other side of the bar. We apologized - despite the fact that it was her mistake - and she suggested we should pay "a couple of euros" for the peanuts.

A chill place to hang out with co workers or friends after work for a cold beer, cake, or some wine. No frills and cheap prices. It gets filled up quickly during the after work rush, and also I believe they allow smoking inside.

Best Café/Bar in Berlin. Good Place with Good Alcoholic/Non-Alcoholic Drinks.

The locals seem to like this place. That's it, I ran out of nice things to say. There are so many similar places in the neighborhood, give them a try! (Also: full of smoke)

I went here on a friday evenig and it was not too crowded. the street on which hackbarths is on is pretty nice and also known as "gallery row" with lots of other cute places and obviously galleries. Hackbarths i think is just a basic cafe with a more run down interior like it is common in berlin. the staff was ok, and the drink are priced ok as well. as you can see, i think it's only ok and there are other places in the area that I would rather frequent.
