H Mart Houston Bellaire

Wow, had to post this local gem. Haven't been to this Supermarket before today. Boy have I been missing out. Just look at these beautiful colors of its fresh produce! If you enjoy cooking like I do, H Mart puts my local HEB to shame. Prices are GREAT! So good you'd have to come see it for yourself. The best part, is the labels, tags, and such are translated for you. So if you're not familiar with an item you can easily read about it. Can't wait to return to pick up some veggies & meats for our next BBQ. If that's not enough for you, they also have a made fresh daily bakery near the front of the store. A restaurant for quick dishes near the far left back. Daily sushi trays section. But wait there's more, fresh seafood at the back of the market. (Plenty of pictures and video showing these items) H mart just won my business. Check it out if you have one near you. Until next time.

If you miss your favorite canned tuna from the Philippines, they have you covered! How about your favorite cut of meat? They have that, too. They may not have everything but definitely have many of those hard to find items. Overall, the store was clean, had a large selection, and is a definite go-to for checking all the items off your grocery list.

Spacious parking lot and a variety of Asian treats you can try. There’s also a hot cafe if you want to eat in along with a bakery if you want pastries. My mom loves going here because she says it’s easier to find things and people are helpful.

I came here because the Katy store ran out of my favorite tea. The store was more packed though there was still plenty of parking available. The store was smaller, so it felt more jam-packed. The fresh made kimbap area had more variety of options though the spam ones didn't look great. I wished they had panfried the spam to give them more color and texture. I did get my tea, though they had the larger version expired, and we had to notify the staff.

The shopping aisles are too narrow, here. However they have a lot of merchandise. They are well stocked. People are aggressive in regard to parking. It’s relatively clean. I prefer the location in Katy Asia Town or the one on Blalock.

If you’re looking for fresh vegetables and fruit, look no further. WOW!!! They have a great selection of just about anything of Asian variety that you could think of. They also have great grab and go section if you’re looking for a quick meal on the run. I will definitely be back.

If they place items on the wrong place they should change the price for the customer thats customer service . Customers only see prices. I spoke with the "manager" that actually looks like he is the bag boy, his name was Luis and he was the most rude person I ever seen . He even told me if "I dont know how to read " when is his own people fault by putting the items on the wrong place . I work for customer service and when my team make a mistake we fix it and help the customer but not him, he was rude all the way (the item was 11.99 but the sign says 7.99 ) and to be honest is not the first but this time I have to speak up . Horrible service 😑that manager has no idea how to speak with customer.

Very nice Asian market. The store is very clean and well organized. They have an awesome selection of Chinese brand foods. The produce is very fresh and plentiful. The seafood looks very good and has many fish options. Both fresh in the tank and filleted on ice. They also have a bakery and eating area with many tables to eat at. We were very impressed.

This is one of the three Hmarts in the Greater Houston area, and although it is not as big and the food court is not as amazing as the one compared to the Hmart on Blalock, they still have all the Asian essentials you need. This one is the closest to my apartment, and has a great selection of reasonably thin cut meats for making shabu/hot pot at home. There are a lot of noodle and ramen options, and there is also a Tours le Jours inside along with a skincare shop (Aritaum) and kpop shop. Overall, I mostly come here to get thinly cut meats and noodles for shabu at home. However, I do notice that the prices of the produce and some of the items, such as snacks or ramen, tend to be on the higher end compared to other Asian shops nearby.

For an H-Mart, I find the selection and size here to be quite good and the overall display quality and decor to be good as well. The produce, meats, and other food is quite fresh with lots of selection, though the prices seem to be a bit higher (but not unreasonable). I do appreciate the enormous dry goods, drink, snack, and frozen food selection here which is great for travelers like myself who might not be looking to create a home cooked meal. With that said though, the meat and produce options here are amazing compared to many of the Asian supermarkets in Chicago. This place has so much, it could easily be my sole supermarket source for everything I need. Checkout here is pretty quick even when busy, and there isn't a lot of food options inside -- probably due to being nearby plenty of restaurants and shops just outside H-Mart (in many other spots in the US, Hmart is the center of the Asian shopping experience).

This place has more South Asian food than one in the Korean town. I like the fish filets. I think they have more selection than other places.

Live that store. My only problem is the cashier. Not friendly at all. Need improvement

I love this Korean supermarket! It's super clean! Tons of options available! There's a small bakery in the front. Everyone is super nice. I love the ready to eat section! I love my Kim chi, fish cakes and squid salad. But what really tops the cake is the little bbq shop located in the far left side of the store (if you are standing outside looking in ). Best roasted duck I had in a long time so far in Houston Chinatown area. The crispy skin is yummy but also the roasted duck meat itself is flavorful, I've been on a mission to find the best roasted duck in the area! This place is no. 1 so far on my list imo! If you have a roasted duck place in mind...shoot me a message so I can try it out!

H Mart was the second stop on our Asiatown tours. I loved that this supermarket was filled with fruits reminiscent of my homeland, and our guide gave us a careful tour and plenty recommendations. I look forward to returning because I know I won't feel overwhelmed. Customer service is great with friendly workers, and every aisle was orderly and clean.

I've only ever been to the Hmart in Katy, but this one has a good selection as well. It's a bit smaller which is nice, but also seems a bit older. Great fruit/veggie selection and seafood ! Parking: There's a huge lot so plenty of parking ! That being said, there was a lot of traffic entering the parking lot- to be fair it was midday on Saturday. Shopping: Like I mentioned - the fruits & veggies area is great! Everything is fresh and there's a lot of options. The seafood section is pretty expansive as well. The other rows though seem a bit limited compared to other Hmarts and several aisles are just overpriced housewares. Checkout: There's several checkout lanes and when we were there the lines went back into the aisles, but they did move quickly despite that. Also the checkout is so close to the front entry it creates a bottleneck at the doors so it was pretty crowded leaving. Other things: There's a small shop at the front that has skincare and such. There's also a Cafe at the front and the back. I didn't try either.

H Mart, trying to sell vegetables that are wilted, molded, and semi frozen is such a disrespect to the community! This is not the first time I've seen this at hmart, and the one in Blalock is just as bad. I understand that the vegetables are not grown locally and have traveled far to get here, but don't try to sell what's gone bad already to the people in Houston! I let one of the employee know about the bad vegetables, but she didn't care. She just walked away. I walked around the vegetable section at this store and took some photos. Not my favorite places to get my groceries but have to sometimes because Hmart is the only Korean market chain in Houston, unfortunately! H mart, you need to do better!

A complete one-stop shop in Htown Chinatown. Have been looking for eggwrap paper for a while and finally found some at Hmart on Bellaire. Talk about service with a smile.So helpful for finding hard to find items. Their seafood and veggie department is incredible. Their seafood clerk was helpful and knowledgeable about different types of fish sold throughout the market. The only minus is playing dodge with other cars in parking lot as this area people zip and out. Would absolutely come back for more Asian specialty items and munchies!!

To be honest, it was one of the better H Mart cafeteria food experiences I have had in a while. Though it is just cafeteria food, I love going to H Mart for a quick lunch with my friends. My favorite comfort food is always bulgogi sundubu jjigae, so of course I had to try it at this location. My friend also ordered the omurice. Ordering was kind of confusion, as you have to go in between the two registers to order and pay. The ambiance was more like a cafeteria. It isn't like an aesthetic little shop at all, it's not particularly cute eating in the back of a grocery store, but it's authentic, fresh, and flavorful! I was so happy to find that this H Mart did not skimp out on the side dishes and beef despite the overall price point being much lower than expected. The broth was flavorful and delicious! Not at all watered down like some other restaurants I have tried. I will be back here again!

Love going to H Mart! The family always stop by here anytime we go out for dim sum in Bellaire. They offer a variety of vegetables, seafood, meats alcohol at a decent price. It may be overwhelming for some if you don't know what you're looking for but come check them out never know what you might find.

Nice store, lots of great items to eat. Not as new as the one in Katy but they seem to have some things the Katy H mart doesn't. Lots of really great places to eat in the area.

This store is huge! I love that it is clean and items are well-organized. I was able to find what I was looking for pretty quickly. There was a lady preparing samples of their galbi short-ribs. Of course, Chris and I had to try. It was very good! We took home some hot rib-eye bulgogi, kimchi and seaweed salad. We cooked the bulgogi at home for dinner one night along with the kimchi and seaweed salad. They were phenomenal! Oh, and the pink pineapple was super-sweet!

This is a good ambiance and a nice place to shop for snack and appetite.. There are many kind of Korean noodles ...so yummy

Large H Mart located in Houston's Chinatown, serving a variety of fresh and frozen Asian food. It is very spacious inside, and the first thing I noticed was how uncrowded it was. There is a very large parking lot outside with plenty of space, and plenty of working carts easily accessible (two things that are a problem at SoCal locations). They have a great selection of seafood taking advantage of Houston's location (with minimal seafood smell permeating throughout the store). It also had a poke bar (which I've rarely seen in grocery stores outside of Hawaii). It has a very small food court (basically one restaurant serving Korean classics) and one non-food shop.

Huge Asian market. I call it my Asian H‑E‑B. Plenty of parking and so much to see and buy from fresh live fish, fresh sliced meat in meat market, frozen and regular packaged foods. We got some sponge cake and wasabi peas and ice cream. They have a huge amount of fresh fruits and veggies too... Busy place always and surprised it was packed at 5-6pm on Tday.

Regrettably, this Bellaire location, though much more convenient in terms of proximity, falls far short of the quality I've grown used to at the Spring Branch or Katy branches. I've encountered issues like moldy packaged goods and produce alike, and there seems to be a recurring issue with congestion nearby the intersection with the packaged ramen goods leading into the general produce area. What's even more disheartening is the state of the food hall, which resembles a ghost town with hardly any vendors in sight. It's quite a letdown overall.

Awesome selection of everything Asian. I only wish they carried Ongi jars. I love the 2 I have and would love to get more of them. They have a great selection of in house side dishes in the deli area.

H Mart on Bellaire - my family and I will soon stop coming to this supermarket. One reason only - my family almost got hurt using one of the ugliest and worn-out-and-rusty shopping carts in United States!! H Mart is supposed to have higher standards than regular Asian supermarkets. However, the management of H Mart is absolutely doing a horrible job at maintaining the the upkeep of shopping carts. I have seen people not able to "pull" one cart out of the stacked shopping carts (because they are the rusty and "stuck" together) and decided to go elsewhere to do grocery shopping. It's crazy that you ONLY see ugly, old and rusty shopping carts at the Bellaire H Mart but not at other H Mart locations (eg the original Blalock location or the Katy store). I am not the only one who hates Bellaire's rusty and yucky shopping carts. Many of friends have stopping going to H Mart on Bellaire as they don't want to touch those rusty shopping carrts (see the pictures taken during the first week of 2024). I am going to make a complaint to the headquarters of H Mart by showing them the crazy old shopping carts at the Bellaire location that might get people injured with tetanus due to skin cuts with the rust on the shopping carts!! Shame on the management of H Mart at the Bellaire location!!!

Korean grocery stores are so unique and always fun to visit! I've dropped by a couple of times to grab ingredients not found in the usual chain groceries (oyster sauce, gochujang paste, mirin, boba ice cream, face masks, radishes for kimbap etc). Depending on the season, some things will be more expensive than others but good deals are easy to spot as well on the sales ad. The items here aren't just Korean but more like a Korean + international Asian store. Very clean and welcoming! The bakery they have (Tous le jours) looks and smells amazing. I'm always tempted to peek by and get something despite needing to be on a low carb diet. ‍ The pastries are always too pretty to pass up honestly so muster up your will power haha!

While it's not nearly as large or as exciting as its sister location in Memorial (#1), I'm honestly just happy it exists at all. Given all the different international grocery stores along Bellaire, H-Mart has done a fairly good job at providing quality imported Korean products in a supermarket setting. Some things I've noticed: * The store is bright and clean. While this might not be a big deal to some, just compare it to the grimy and dated stores that surround most of Bellaire. Even the bathrooms are on point. * While the produce is solid, the seafood selection is where it's at. There is a lot of fresh catches available and at prices that are on par with major grocers in the area like HEB. * Like other H-Marts, there is a Tour Les Jours (#2) available. Of course there is. And it's super pricey. * Spanish, Mandarin, and Korean are spoken by a number of staff. If that's not diversity at work, I don't know what is. * The soju selection is pretty limited. I realize it's not a liquor store, but given the obscure location of drinks in their produce section, it's probably one of the more disappointing aspects of the store. * Lines are a common theme here. Perhaps the cashiers are slow, or they're understaffed. My wife and I really like this grocery store. Gonna for sure head back here soon. To much stuff I wanna try. My wife loves their selection of tofu based products. Really great grocery store for any one who follows a vegan diet. I really like the selection of fresh and dried mushrooms. Gonna stop by sometime to get some fresh sushi made at the cafeteria like area they have in one corner of the building. I saw a pomegranate wine they had among the wine selection I'd also like to check out sometime. We got lots of goodies, but so much selection. Gotta go again.

It's always a pleasant experience shopping at an H-Mart. It's more expensive but they keep it so clean and organized it's just so easy to enjoy your trips to this store. Still haven't been to a poorly run H-Mart.

I've shopped at several H Marts across the country, and this one doesn't disappoint. It's kept clean, and they have plenty inventory for everything I need. I especially appreciate the selection of hot pot meats. And the workers keep the store running efficiently.

This store offers varieties of Korean goods. They have everything you can think of such as Korean noodles, snacks, drinks, desserts, fruits, vegetables etc. There's also lots of meats & seafood to pick from as well. In addition, they have a bakery right in front of the store, a pharmacy next to the cash register & a small restaurant close to the seafood area. There are a few things that I don't like, the aisles are so small & if there's a lot of people in that specific aisle it can get chaotic. One other thing is when I came here tonight, it was extremely busy which wasn't the problem, the problem had to do with it being only one cashier, so the line was long. Finally, they opened the second one after I reached to the front; I'm glad someone was thinking. The cashier who checked me out wasn't nice at all, I'm not asking you to have a conversation with me because I understand it's busy but it only takes .5 seconds to just say "hello". After she bagged my stuff & handed my receipt, there was no "bye" or "thank you" or anything. My advice to her is work on your customer service skills because it sucked. Other then that everything else was good & I'll definitely come back.

OMGGGG I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!!!! We definitely need one in San Antonio... they have everything Korean/ Japanese you can think of... I was just in love! I'll never forget this place, I wish I could live here! OMG they even had a poke bar if that isn't amazing, idk what is!!!! Super fresh seafood! I just loved it, we will definitely make this a must everytime we're in Houston.

Nice Asian Market, but most Items are very expensive. Marinated meats are good. Went for black garlic, only a large container showed @ 16$ only needed a small amount. There are produce items that are reasonably priced. Very busy Market and area.

I love this the place! Always has what I'm looking for for my meals when other grocery stores don't. I needed some Tom yum paste & shrimp paste for a new recipe I'm trying out and I knew just where to go. They are very organized, clean, and well stocked!

Spot for Korean/Asian groceries in the middle of Bellaire. Unpretentious store compared to the newer ones like in Katy Asian town. It's got what you want, especially all things Korean, and it's got an in house food court option and bakery as well.

It's surprising and nice to see about 25 customers and staff masked. The store parking lot is shared with other businesses but we got in here easily with a 29' Class C. The prices are lower than what we see at HMart in Maryland.

easy to navigate and had a variety of groceries to choose from. i brought my non-asian frnd and she was able to find a cool snacks and premade meals to try out. paying process was also quick (tho when i went there wasn't a lot of ppl)

I've been to a decent amount of H Marts (California, Georgia, and this one). This specific location isn't as good, especially for a "Super" store. The walking aisles throughout the store are very limited. Squeezing through and just moving around the store was very tight. Today was my first visit, and it honestly didn't set a good precedence. There seemed to be all the major amenities from my walk through, but the soju selection at this location is pretty limited. There were only a few flavors (Peach, Strawberry, and Plum) in the corner. I walked to the beverage aisle thinking there were much more options displayed there, but that small corner display I initially saw was all they had. I'm just glad there's an H Mart here. It's the only one near me within a 3 hour drive. But it doesn't uphold the standard as the other H Marts I've been to in the past.

My first time there I found a lot of things I needed. I'm definitely gonna have to go back and do some more extensive shopping but overall a good experience.

We were staying nearby, and randomly drove past Hmart. There is one near Dallas, so we decided to check this one out. Pretty much the same. The little food courts in back were kinda cool. But when we were there, they were not open. Great selection of produce, meats and sea foods. Especially sea foods. I can always find something new I want to try. This time it was something not very Asian, but apparently loved by Asians. SPAM! I had never seen so many flavors. Some I never heard of (Tocino). I ended up buying a couple cans of all the flavors. Bottom line: Shopping Hmart is always an adventure. Note: I was here at the end of 2019, so this review is going in the 2019 collection.

If you come here mainly for produce don't forget they have a bakery and food to go as well!!

This isn't my favorite location of the two I frequent, but it's still really great. Lots of items to choose from and always well kept and clean. It has all the essentials, I just find myself going to the other location more often because I prefer it. I go for Korean products 99% of the time but do also purchase Japanese goodies as well. In addition to groceries, you can also find kitchenware and other items that make for cute gifts (even if the gift is for yourself lol).

This review is just for the food court It was clean and there was plenty of seating Ambience a bit utilitarian - unlike their other food courts which tend to have more of a theme I had the seafood pancake. Kind of meh. A bit like a Western style pancake - a bit pasty in texture. Not chewy and glutinous like when made from rice flour. Also, the mix of seafood was not very good - squid and a few shrimps. A side dish of Kim chi would have helped. Wish I could be more positive as this H mart is near to me and I really wanted a go to place for a quick meal!

The employees are extremely rude. They treat you like you're a nuisance. The staff at the Tous Les Jours bakery were even worse. Not sure why they act so uptight

I bought about $30, 1 1/2 lb of scallops and three packs of oxtail, each pack about $40 yesterday and only to find the scallops and one of the oxtail packs were bad.... I often feel like this H Mart on Bellaire just doesn't have as fresh of meat/seafood/vegetables/fruits compare to the one on Blalock. Ugh... wasted over $70 for two items and that's a lot of money to waste and I had diarrhea after eaten two scallops and had to toss the whole thing away before my kids can get to it.

Everything I need to make Korean foods is available. Wish you had a store in south east Houston. 40 minutes to get there!

it's OK. Only OK. The ones in Katy and off Blalock are better. For example, all of their garlic (and believe me, I dug through a mass of them) were either sprouting or were rotten on the inside. Some of their other produce was brown. Went to get some sauces and they had expired weeks or months ago.

Not even sure where to begin. The amount of product and selection here is phenomenal. Visiting from out of town other wise we would have made some cold purchases. Picked up different types of sauces (huge selection of my favorite Sempio products, Pokka brand teas) and porridge that I've never had before and looking forward to trying it all. You can even purchase some product in bulk. We also purchased chop sticks, (training one as well although it was for little kids) and amazing glove towels. Social distancing was decent and lines were quick.

This Hmart makes grocery shopping experience a breeze. I love how stocked and organized their produces and items on the shelves are. All vegetables and fruits are fresh. Compare to 99 Ranch, definitely a way more option. At this location, they have someone in the front with hand sanitizer and manually wipe down your kart before entering. Which is definitely a must needed protocol.

I and my family are vegan. We eat a variety of things, so I like to shop all over town. I thought stop by H Mart. I feel in love! They had all types of fresh fruit and noodles. I bought spring rolls, sauce, noodles watermelon and a few other things. I saw a few other things that I want to go back and buy! They also have great deals on things to buy in bulk.

If they welcomed you at the door (they don't) it'd be Hello Mart. If they sold slutty shoes for my porn girl (who is literally a porn girl) they'd be Heel Mart. If they sold devil accessories for my sinful girl (who is literally the devil) then they'd be Hell Mart. I first came across H Marts in Queens (NYC), where they are primarily Korean and absolutely incredible. The one up there in Flushing with Namudol inside, is my idea of Korean paradise. Well, the one down here on Bellaire is pretty good too. There's another one further north in Spring Branch, and I've also checked them out down in Atlanta, up in DC and Chicago and Dallas - they all have the same thing going for them, other than the vast array of amazing and decently priced international goods: they all have an awesome Korean restaurant inside! This one has several. The restaurants are owned by different people. All sorts of Korean and Asian goodness. If H Mart were a little more affordable across the board I'd give it a 5.

They are tipping people off so badly in that neighborhood that do not know what things are supposed to cost. They were selling powdered nesquick (powdered chocolate to make chocolate milk) for over 8$ when at Walmart for a way larger size is $3.18.... A lot of people that live in the area do not have cars or they do not venture too far away from that area because they may not know English well (I am not saying everyone) but H Mart is definitely preying on the types of people I just mentioned.... I also went to the restroom while I was there and it was so disgusting and smelled like feet..
