Came here with 4 other friends, and we had made a reservation earlier in the day for 6pm on a Sunday. I highly recommend making a reservation because when we were starting to get our food, a line started building, and by 7pm it was quite a long line. The food itself was delicious. You have to get the mushroom pasta and calamari. The ragu, Alfredo pizza, and Caesar salad were all good but the mushroom pasta was the star. Sangria was good too but it wasn't properly stirred so some of our glasses were more boozy than others. For 6 dishes + sangria, our bill was about $55 per person which I thought was very reasonable. As well, the interior of the restaurant looks sick. It has multiple levels and the whole front is open to the street but it still feels so comfortable and cozy. I definitely will be back in the future

I went here for dinner and it was really good! The building itself is so pretty with like three or four whole stories of seating. The food was also really yummy, especially the mushroom pasta it was so good. The only thing was that our mains took quite a while to arrive. It took around maybe 30-40 minutes to arrive which was on the longer side and a little unexpected as our appetizers came out quick. Otherwise a pretty good experience! 😁

We thoroughly enjoyed the open-air balcony on the top floor, which was four stories up, and the kitchen on the main floor, where we ended up dining when it began to rain. The only comment from the group was that it was warm, but otherwise, everything was excellent. The pasta was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. I also greatly appreciated the selection of wines available on tap for a dollar an ounce. Furthermore, their house lager was perfect for a warm day on the balcony. While there is seating on every floor, please be aware that you will need to use the stairs. I would recommend making a reservation on the main floor if you have any difficulty with stairs, as it can get quite busy.

The food was excellent,we had a burger and it was cooked just how we asked. We also ordered off the menu dessert and it was truly amazing. The service was okay, felt like we were being rushed but overall our host was great. The atmosphere was also okay. Inside was very modern but the outside was completely the opposite feeling. A-lot of construction going on and we could not find the building at first,it was hidden. Also,if you’re coming here for the first time, definitely come 30 minutes before because parking is terrible and very hard to find.

Gusto 501 is truly a gem in the city! From the moment you walk in, you’re captivated by the stunning interior design—modern, yet warm and inviting. The ambiance is absolutely perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual night out or a special celebration. The attention to detail in the decor, lighting, and overall aesthetic makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—simply outstanding! Every dish was crafted with precision and packed with flavor. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation was impeccable. I tried the pasta and wood-fired pizza, and both were some of the best I’ve had in the city. The balance of flavors, the perfect seasoning, and the quality of ingredients were noticeable in every bite. Beyond the incredible food and design, what truly sets Gusto 501 apart is the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made fantastic recommendations and ensured that everything was perfect throughout the meal. It’s rare to find a place that excels in all aspects—food, ambiance, and service—but Gusto 501 does it effortlessly. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommend, and I can’t wait to return!

The food was absolutely amazing, and the vibe of the place matched it perfectly — warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the service. Our server Nick not only did he recommend dishes we genuinely loved, but his knowledge, attentiveness, and clear passion for his work stood out in a way we’ve never experienced before. It’s rare to come across someone who elevates a great meal into a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

If Chef Gusteau from Ratatouille were real, he’d tip his hat to Gusto 501 (📍501 King St E, Toronto, ON M5A 1L9): a Toronto gem that brings the heart and soul of Italian cuisine to life. With its soaring interiors, wood-fired aromas, and dishes that sing with simplicity and flavor, our lunch over there embodied the spirit of “anyone can cook,” but only a few can do it this well. Let’s dig in! Having worked up an appetite after a morning of sightseeing, we ordered 2 different entrees: the Margherita Pizza and Mafalde Ai Funghi Pasta. The Margherita Pizza was a masterclass in simplicity—a pillowy, wood-fired crust, the perfect balance of tangy tomatoes and creamy fior di latte, finished with fragrant basil and a drizzle of olive oil. Every bite was light yet fulfilling. Then came the Mafalde Ai Funghi Pasta, a luxurious, earthy blend of porcini, portobello, and oyster mushrooms, enveloped in a silky truffle cream sauce. The ruffled mafalde noodles held onto every drop of richness, making each forkful deeply satisfying. Utterly filling and flawlessly executed, these dishes would have earned Chef Gusteau’s highest praise! I’ve dined at Gusto 501 twice now, and both experiences have been great. One of the first things worth mentioning is their house wine—offered at just $1 per ounce—along with a happy hour menu that delivers great value. The ambiance is modern and moody, with dim lighting, stylish underlighting, and a striking art wall that adds to the charm. The restaurant spans multiple levels, and the rooftop patio in the summer is a definite highlight. We started with the carpaccio and the Brussels sprout salad (Cavoletti di Bruxelles). While the carpaccio had good flavour, I found the garnishes a bit overpowering for such a delicate cut—I personally prefer it served more simply to appreciate the meat’s natural taste. The salad, lacked punch and probably wouldn’t be a reorder for me. But the mains more than made up for it. Their pizzas are wood-fired, giving them a beautiful char and smokiness. The margherita pizza was delicate but flavourful, especially the sauce—rich, balanced, and not overly acidic which I often find with margherita pizza. The carbonara pizza is a unique standout—think carbonara pasta, but on a pizza, including egg. The guanciale on it was exceptional: perfectly crispy with just the right amount of chew. A must-try for carbonara lovers. The real star of the meal was the beef short rib pasta (Paccheri al Ragú Genovese). The pasta was cooked al dente to perfection, and the beef was tender, richly braised, and generously portioned. Service was attentive and friendly, washrooms are easily accessible on every floor, and for the quality of food, the pricing is very fair. Gusto 501 is truly a gem in a neighborhood that’s still developing—and I’ll absolutely be back!

Yelp
Had their delicious rich and creamy mushroom pasta and my goodness, it wa so filling and tasty! I do wish though that the pasta was hotter as it came out pretty warm, some parts were actually cold but it was still very tasty. My friends and I also shared the calamari which was very good. The restaurant itself is dark and pretty, not too loud to hear conversations, and service was great.

Yelp
Very delicious pizza and pasta options, and we love that you can purchase an ounce of wine for a dollar. Overpriced, but what isn't in this part of the city? The interior is slightly cold and rather industrial. It's not a warm, cozy restaurant. High ceilings and bare bones furnishings make it seem rather large and empty. Perhaps more plush seating would enhance the 'warmth' factor to go with the warm flavours and the good vibes of the inexpensive house wines!

Yelp
My friend and I came here around 12pm and we were able to walk in a get a table easily. The staff were all super kind and very interactive. The restaurant is very clean and aesthetic. Love the vibes inside. Food was incredible! I got their pasta and it is hands down one of my fav pastas ever! Too bad there are not closer locations in the GTA or else I would get it more. Food: - Mafalde Ai Funghi: 5/5 stars!! So rich in flavour and creamy. The mushroom flavour is just perfect. I wish it came with a bit more pasta for the price. But so yummy. - Margherita Pizza: 3.8/5 stars. Not my order but I tried a bite. Quite oily and the pizza does not really have much structure to it. It will flop over once you pick it up. Nothing super special. Overall, I only come here for the mushroom pasta and am never disappointed!

Yelp
A friend of mine came here several months ago. What caught my attention was her raving about getting an ounce of wine for $1 during happy hour. Wow! That's crazy. I flagged it. I meet up with a couple of friends every couple of months or so. We like to eat and socially drink. I showed them this wine happy hour special and they said yes without any hesitation. We are a bunch of winos... haha! We met up on the first Saturday of October for brunch. I made reservations in advance. It's habit. It's a reflex reaction. I got there early. It's in Corktown. I parked on King Street East, steps away from the Sackville Playground, which is roughly across the street from Gusto 501. I paid for three hours of Green P parking through the app, which did the trick. There are a set of lights by the playground. I crossed the street with two 501 King streetcars on either side of me. My friend spotted me on the other side. We both walked over to the eatery. It was a nice day. The entire restaurant was open. We walked in without opening a thing. I said hi to the greeter and indicated that I had a reservation. He found me and took us to a table steps away from the bar. Moments later, our third friend joined us. We always have a good time catching up over good eats and drinks. Doing it as this eatery was no exception. We got the following items to start: - Gusto rosso (Argentina - Chile) - Brasato di manzo - Ricotta pancakes - Funghi pizza We all started with five ounces of wine. We got a refill later on. We chose gusto rosso from Argentina - Chile. It was a cabernet sauvignon and malbec mix. We loved it. It was perfect with a nice finish. $10 for two glasses of wine each seemed so absurd, but was a great deal. We all got individual mains, but ended up taking bites of our dishes because we like to sample. It's fun! I got the brasato di manzo. It consisted of tomato-braised short ribs, bomba, ricotta, and poached eggs. It was fantastic. The short ribs fell off the bone. They were so tender and flavourful. The poached eggs were runny and so yummy with the bomba (spicy pepper paste in the sauce) and ricotta. One of my friends got the ricotta pancakes. They had blueberry compote on top. I was fortunate to get a bite of this delightful stack of pancakes. So fluffy and dreamy! If you love light, fluffy pancakes with the best blueberry flavour in a compote, you must order this dish. If I aren't into brunchy items, go with the funghi pizza. My other friend had it. If you are a huge mushroom fan, this pizza was delicious. It had a generous assortment of sliced mushrooms that were flavourful and so good with the best pizza crust. We sat close to the pizza oven. It was delightful to see our pizza come out of the oven, and get sliced, plated, and served hot out of the oven. The food was exceptional. We were stuffed. We then saw the dessert menu. We ordered everything and split it all because that's how we roll. We got these desserts: - Tiramisu - Pizzelle - Torte di mandorle The tiramisu was probably our favourite out of the bunch. It had a delightful custard-mousse texture. It was exquisite and one of the best tiramisu desserts that I have ever had, probably because it had kahlua and marsala. The torte di mandorle was special. Our server poured vanilla mascapone cream sauce over the torte that had peach compote and pistachios. It was delicious and the presentation made us happy. The pizzelle was simple. Think of it as two pinwheel waffles with a generous layer of Nutella buttercream between them, sprinkled with icing sugar. Simple is good. This dessert paired well with the others almost like a mini dessert. We all used the washroom before we left. It's at the back on the first floor. It was clean. There's a second floor. I don't think there's an elevator. I didn't see anyone dine up there. I'd imagine that it gets used for dinner or when this eatery gets extremely busy. There was a patio. It was a gorgeous warm day that we could have dined outside if we wanted to. This restaurant was awesome. We had a great time having bunch and chatting for nearly three hours. I highly recommend coming here, especially to take advantage of the wine deal if you like good wine at a loonie an ounce. (418)

Yelp
What a memorable food and dining experience. To start off, they were really great at responding to messages. They were able to accommodate us on the first floor because it's just beautiful with the open kitchen. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was just mouth watering. The appetizers really took the win, though the mains were solid themselves. The kale salad was tender and had a nice crunch texture to it. Not overpowering, balanced nicely. Calamari can't go wrong. Cooked well. Burrata with the grilled peaches and plums was such a wonderful combination. Just fantastic. We got the crostini appetizer and that was just a burst of favour. Truffle pasta, pepperoni pizza were good! The TIRAMISU IS THE BEST. Tiramisu is my favourite so I've had my fair share but this one takes the cake! I ordered TWO because I had to. I knew I would miss it as soon as I got home while I was still eating it. Anyways, I'm definitely coming back! And it looks like they make some seasonal changes to their menu items.

Yelp
The food at Gusto is always great, however our server this time seemed very unfriendly and uninterested. She came by to take our orders and just stood there. She didn't say hello or ask if we were ready, just stood there. This was her demeanor until we finished our meal and it came time for the bill.

Yelp
Their mushroom pasta is an absolute highlight, bursting with rich, earthy flavors. Don't miss their unique $1 an ounce wine (happy hour), perfect for pairing with any dish.

Yelp
I always pass by this restaurant on King East and finally got to try it recently. Between the two of us, we ordered the Salsicce pizza and the malfalde ai funghi (which appears to be a very popular menu item here!) Knowing me, I enjoy thin crust pizza and this was exactly it. Even though it's got a thin crust, the toppings did not soak through nor fall apart. The chilli adds a nice kick of flavour to the pizza yet it's not too much heat making it very flavourful. The malfalde ai funghi was extremely delicious and flavourful! If you are a truffle/mushroom lover, you have to try it! It is a dish that's on the heavier side making this the perfect dish to share! I love coffee and desserts! Their tiramisu is very delicious tiramisu. It's got the perfect amount of coffee soaked in the lady finger, not too dry, not overly soggy. It's the perfect touch to end the meal!

Yelp
Dreaming of the day I can eat this again. Such perfect flavors! Very friendly staff and perfect ambiance. Lots of seating in various settings. Loved sitting upstairs at the bar in the daytime.

Yelp
Came here with 1pm reservations and we' were seated right away. I'm a huge fan of the gusto restaurants and love the decor in this one. It was nice to come here for brunch; I enjoyed my eggs and sourdough main, I opted out of the potato's and asked for extra greens - downside is it was heavily dressed that it wasn't enjoyable. Our server was really patient and kind, checked in the right amount of time. They need to have more spots to drop a longer jacket, especially in the winter as I was bit uncomfortable having to keep moving it around for the other guests around me.

Yelp
Came here for Winterlicious last night! I've never been here before and wanted to check out the very hyped mushroom pasta, but it's a bit out there from the downtown core so never got the chance to try! Given the Winterlicious menu was such a deal that it would be a shame to miss, we decided to drive down and see for ourselves. The Winterlicious menu is 3 courses (app + main + dessert) for $45 per person. Honestly, it was an amazing deal for the quality and quantity of food. We got the following: Appetizers: - Melanzane: Basically an elevated eggplant parmesan. Creamy tomato sauce and topped with some breadcrumbs, which I thought were a tad on the salty side. Overall a great starter, I thought it was delicious. 9/10 - Polpette: Amazing meatballs. I only tried a bite but it was soft and you could really taste the beef flavour. 3 meatballs and comes with 2 slices of toasted bread, I thought it was a great value. 10/10 Mains: - Mafalde al funghi: The main reason we were here! Creamy, gooey, cheesy, mushroomy. Heavy carbs but so so good. I really think it lives up to the hype. Well-seasoned too, and it doesn't overpower the taste of the mushrooms 10/10 - Orata: I think this is a very underrated dish. I don't think people would usually go for fish at an Italian restaurant and I actually wasn't even sure what I was getting into when I ordered it. It was a PUNCH of flavour, very spicy but also bitter due to the charred skin. The fish was moist and had a bit of the creamy tomato sauce on the side, sat on a bed of charred escarole. I think this was a good choice for our table, since the mafalde was so heavy. This balanced it out well as it was lighter (we shared). 9/10 Dessert: - Torta di mandorla: Pear was juicy and cake was moist. Not a huge fan of cinnamon but I'd say it was well made. 8/10 - Cannoli: It was a little smaller than I expected! But realized quickly why, because the filling wasn't typical whipped cream, it was much heavier pistachio and ricotta flavour. Still delicious! 9/10 We also got some cocktails to try: - Incanto: This drink was crazy. Matcha and pistachio and lemon and gin. An unconventional combo that tasted amazing when mixed together. 9/10 - Te della sera: We're a huge fan of tea based cocktails, so this oolong tequila drink hit the spot. 8/10 Ambiance was incredible - very very high ceilings and wavy wooden walls. I loved the amber lighting and the place felt nice and intimate. Service was great and the open kitchen/bar was beautiful too. I would recommend this place for Winterlicious, but the regular menu was a bit pricey (when I looked at the same items that we ate) so I think I'll wait another year before I come back!!

Yelp
Overall: 4/5 Food: Mushroom Pasta: 4.5/5, would maybe lower it to a 4/5 because of the price and portion. They used to have much larger portions, but the mushroom pasta was still so tasty. I loved the flavours of everything, very good if you like a creamy mushroom pasta. Ambiance: 5/5 love the vibe of the place, really calm and a great place to chat with company or take someone on a date. Service: 5/5 very quick service, fast with refills and checking in, etc. Love the place but just pricey as I mentioned earlier.

Yelp
Super modern decor. We were seated on the upper floor. Amazing view, delicious food, private ambiance. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place was soooooooooooo good. Some of the best Italian I've had in a very long time. We were visiting for a concert and made the reservation well ahead of time, which I think everybody has to do to get in. The ambiance was very intimate, upscale, and sleek. The restaurant goes up three or four floors, so if heights make you a little woozy, maybe request a table away from the ledges We got the house made focaccia, a salad, and I got the spaghetti cacio y Pepe for my entree. The service was friendly, relatively fast, and left us to enjoy our meal without being too overbearing. The food was delicious and great quality for the price. If you're in the area, check this place out, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Love love love Gusto 501. This is the first time I tried their brunch and it did not disappoint. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. I made a reservation just in case because normally in the evening this place gets packed!! They have their signature mushroom pasta during brunch which is a must try anytime you go there. Also the ricotta pancakes and the burger were so good! Lots of flavor in both. I highly recommend going here for brunch or dinner! The food never disappoints!

Yelp
We enjoyed the food but we can't recommend this place because of poor service. Be advised, there is a 1.75 hr seating limit and it doesn't matter if the place is empty, they will kick you out unceremoniously when the timer goes off. Pros: location, parking, casual vibe, expensive but great drinks (although we do not recommend the 'fresh', on tap wine - we knew it was a risk when we ordered). Cons: the wait staff needs better training. Our waitress, continuously interrupted conversations (I counted 7 times at least). Asked to clear plates when we were still eating. She was in such a rush to get us to the next course and/or turn the table even though half the place was empty. It completely destroyed a nice brunch experience with friends. We learned that there was a reservation for 6 and apparently our table of 4 was the only table that could accommodate the 'larger' group by adding a table. This was obviously not true as there were a number of tables of 2 they could have put together. Seconds after I paid the bill, another staff member (possibly a manager) came by to tell us the other party had arrived and she ushered us toward the door. As we left, only 2 members of the other party had arrived - so again, just poor form and unprofessional. I could understand if the place was packed and super busy - it wasn't. Like so many restaurants post covid in Toronto, prices have gone through the roof yet basic customer service concepts are ignored. So go here if you want good, yet overprices food and drinks and if you don't mind being rushed from course to course and if service is not that important to you.

Yelp
I came here on a weeknight with some friends and it was quite busy. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and kind of loud so it was hard to have a conversation without shouting. I got the mushroom pasta which they are known for, it was creamy and the pasta was al dente. Portion size was a bit small for the price though. I would love to come back sometime and try their brunch!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this spot and I'd like to say it was great but not amazing. I've heard and read many reviews about this place so I was excited to try it. I tried the carpaccio, kale salad, mushroom pasta and the risotto verde. Out of all the dishes, I was most pleasantly surprised with the risotto verde. It was not a top choice amongst the reviews but it was an interesting and delicious dish. I enjoyed the other dishes as well but thought it was slightly overpriced. I just didn't think the dishes were justified. Overall, the ambiance is nice and open but nothing that was a show stopper. The server was prompt and efficient. I would go back here if there was a friend that wanted to try it, but not anytime soon.

Yelp
Love their truffle mushroom pasta. Attentive customer service & lovely atmosphere, perfect for a night out with friends.

Yelp
AMAZING food!!! The mushroom pasta was the best I've ever had!! Every bite was just WOW! Staff was super friendly and very clean space.

Yelp
Came for brunch and pleasantly surprised. I didn't think their dinner menu was that great for how crowded it was. For brunch though, it was quieter without a wait. The menu was simple but full of delicious items. Prices were reasonable too. Would love to come back and try other things. The cappuccino was amazing. Smooth.

Yelp
Amazing pasta and pizza options. The servers were incredibly friendly, but it was quite hot and stuffy being seated on the second level.

Yelp
It's just the tiny Asian couple's luck to have come here a year apart and be sat in the same sonically terrible corner next to the bus door on the second floor. We've been here once for brunch and last week, as my partner had been hankering to try the lamb ragu lasagna that he saw online, appeared to be baked in a flare shaped flakey crust. It wasn't lacking in substance and there was a generous cheese pull, however he was disappointed the recipe had changed to square cut pan portions. I also had the beef carpaccio which was tender, delicate and dressed with egg yolk aoli and olive tapenade. The second floor is aurally unpleasant as you hear all bass and chatter from other tables but need to yell at the top of your voice to talk to the person across from you. The saving grace might have been that draft wine was $1 per ounce so I guzzled rosé and my partner had the house red. The food is similar to Terroni if you think about the pizza and appetizers. Things that stand out as curious options include lamb neck and grilled octopus, but there are standard Italian classics like cavil e pepe and carbonara. While the decor and interior is like an industrial style multi floor dining space overlooking an open kitchen, the food always leaves something to be desired...

Yelp
I came here for lunch on a Saturday and reserved about a week in advance. I love the interior design here. It's three floors with the top level being a terrace. We were seated on the first floor and it can get pretty loud if there's a lot of people. I did notice that it was hard to hear with everyone talking around me - might be how the acoustics are on the ground floor. I'm a big fan of Gusto's food so the malfade pasta is always a must get. I tried the pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good. FYI if you come on the weekend before 4 pm, they only serve their brunch menu so you're unable to order off the regular menu. The service was so so. For some reason, every time our waitress came to pour water, she would look away while pouring and a ton of water would spill everywhere. By the time we left there was a decent sized puddle on the table. I'm pretty chill so I found her idgaf attitude kind of hilarious.

Yelp
A staple gem where the original location gusto101 is at king west area. Their specialty is their mushroom pasta which is to die for. The architecture/ decor here is stunning - be prepared to take multiple flights of stairs if you dine here. Also make reservations or test your luck if you are dining for two at the bar. If i had to compare i do think the original location is better food wise however this is a more comfortable seating arrangement and in a less busy area with easy parking available.

Yelp
Delightful food. Lovely staff. Incoming barstool seating arrangement. Sould certainly return:)

Yelp
Second time we have been there. The first time I had lasagna and it was overcooked badly. Second time I had the burger and the patty was terrible, hard and dry, it was definitely a frozen patty and not a good one! My daughter had the lasagna and once again it was overcooked and not very good. The music is also very loud! Service was great both times, venue is amazing pity it was let down but the food twice!!!
google avatar

Divyank S.

Yelp
Amazing food. Ordered Pizza, Pasta and Tiramisu and all of them were delicious. Booked the patio table and the music was good. Cocktails from Margaritas sections are superb. Service was top notch with well care for the food delivery and entertainment. Will come again to try pizzas and pasta again.

Yelp
Very lovely ambiance, great place for groups. I came here with 3 people and we luckily got a table right when we went in even though it was dinner time. As the host led us upstairs, I was shocked that they had more space above the floor where we sat. I ordered the margarita pizza and it delicious! It was well cooked, good portion and tasted great. Service was nice, we were seated near the kitchen and so we got to see very delicious looking food pass by, especially the pasta haha.

Yelp
Wicked vibe, delicious food, friendly service - Gusto is definitely a place you want to check out. They know what they're good at and they definitely excel at it. Set to the backdrop of glowing terracotta walls and an incredible open concept 3-story dining theatre (in addition to their "Attico", a rooftop patio with its own unique offerings of elevated cocktails and sharing plates), Gusto 501 is a fantastic place to spend a warm summer night hanging out with friends or sipping on a cocktail with a date. Without question, their Mafalde Ai Funghi is a must-have if you enjoy the thought of mafaldine ribbons with a slightly al-dente bite coated in a thick, truffe cream sauce mixed with a tender mushroom medley. If you're more of a carnivore, I would highly recommend the Tagliata, which was a perfectly seasoned prime striploin, sliced into tender strips atop a bed of hen-of-the-woods mushrooms. It worked out really nicely for my table that we each ordered a pasta and then the Tagliata to share. All-in-all, I definitely look forward to coming back and trying some of their other dishes.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Gusto! Burrata: my first time trying Burrata! I'd say its more on the bland side of the spectrum in terms of cheeses Tagliatelle con cozze: it had a spicy kick which was nice but it was so salty!!! Cannoli: Best cannoli I've I've tbh, it was so good! I think the orange peel in the center really brought it to the next level Tiramisu: you can't go wrong with tiramisu, it's the perfect dessert dish to split between a few people (or eat all for yourself )

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends and the restaurant delivered a five star experience on all fronts! Ambiance, food, service were all on point. There are three stories, along with a rooftop patio. The restaurant is trendy and the food is delicious! I ordered the popular mushroom pasta and it was scrumptious. The salad was a perfect complement to the meal, along with the homemade bread and sangria. I am a big fan on Gusto 101, and this place is just as good! Love the big picture window to let the light in!

Yelp
This contemporary Italian restaurant offers a menu of pasta and pizza dishes. The decor follows a trendy loft with multi-level dinning floors. We sat in the bar area, and the walk up the stairs to the top floor was a mission. The menu changes seasonally with some staple items. As for dishes, we tried: 1. The Housemade Bread A focaccia style bread, super fluffy and light. 2. The carpaccio and calamari Nothing special, tasty dishes but relatively small portions. 3. The Misticanza A gem salad tossed in a vinaigrette sauce. We found the salad fresh and the right portion of sauce. Moving into the pastas, our top two would be the: 1. Mafalde Ai Fungi A creamy truffle pasta with mafalde ribbon pasta, paired with oyster mushrooms and topped off with cheese. The flavours were super rich and a great pairing. 2. Tagliolini con gamberi A pasta dish with shrimp, chives and dill. We found this dish to be a simplified seafood linguini, and tasty. Overall, this spot is a good staple restaurant for those days when you crave Italian food.

Yelp
Hello date night! I typically visit 101 but decided to try out 501 that evening as I wasn't able to reserve for a time I was looking for at 101. 501, did not disappoint. Service was exceptional and the vibes really set the stage that night. We were seated on the second floor which was nice because we still felt grounded to the first while it felt much more private on the second. I'll definitely be back. Carote 5/5: Damn, this was incredible. The flavours and textures were so well done. I tried to duplicate this dish the moment I secured myself some baby carrots at home. Calamari 5/5: crispy to perfection. Really nice aioli that accompanied it. Creamy and zingy all at the same time Misticanza Salad 4/5: baby gems worked really well with the mint and the smoked vinaigrette Tagliatelle con cozze 3/5: really regret not ordering my usual: funghi. This dish was overpowered by the spice. The kick (which is strong and potent for those of you who can't handle spice) really took over, making it hard to taste the freshness of the mussels. Unfortunately the balance was off on this one. Tiramisu 3/5: I love a good tiramisu. I wasn't a huge fan of the base. Felt like they soaked the lady fingers a bit too long and was a bit too soft for my liking. Drinks: Really tasty sangria, Continental aspro

Yelp
The pasta was great here. We ordered 2 kinds of pasta and both are amazing. Mafalde al funghi is super creamy I love how the pasta was firm and chewy. Tagliolini con gamblers is mild sweet tomato red, very good too. Octopus is standard, I think it has a bit of a burnt taste so not for me. Full view window was very romantic, so is the candle! the washroom light auto dims and we didn't notice it was right next to us at first.

Yelp
It's lost it! This used to be one of my fav places in the Corktown neighbourhood, BUT this weekend our family was tremendously disappointed by the food, twh service and yes even the ambiance. Our brunch was cold (almost all the meals - had to send back) for a family get together of 10 form 87 to 1 year olds, it missed the mark. Cold eggs, acoustics were difficult. This used to be the perfect place for us. I even hosted my daughter's engagement party here - hope they can find back their mojo. For now we will won't be back for awhile.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews I read prior to coming here. Unfortunately my experience was not a good one. The ambience was nice and the staff were friendly, no complaints there -- but the food? Where do I begin? The pasta was decent but too bland for my taste, the flavour was mainly of cream and cheese, not much else. The portion was also a little smaller than anticipated, but I do eat a lot to be fair. We ended up ordering a pizza since the pasta barely touched our sides, and again, very lacklustre. It was lacking in sauce, salt and the crust was pretty tough. Thankfully our additions of honey and parmesan made it a lot better, so don't be afraid to ask for condiments if you're ordering from here. The real downfall was after the dinner, I had a throbbing headache with major stomach pains for the next 6 hours, something in the food did not agree with me; I'm not sure if something had gone rotten or the food was poorly handled. Regardless I will not be coming back to this establishment, not worth the sleepless night.

Yelp
We came here for winterlicious 2024 and for $45 this was highly recommended!! All the food was delicious and large portions. We also got the zucca pizza in addition to the menu and loved it

Yelp
This venue offers an relaxing atmosphere, great for dates or girls nights. We ordered a few appetizers and pizza to share. The highlight of our meal was the rice balls and great customer service (he did not bother us). Unfortunately our pizza was burnt.

Yelp
I've eaten at the crowded restaurant several times and the service was always excellent and the food was tasty and fair priced. However... do not order delivery. The pizza comes slimy, tasteless and has the consistency of a rubber glove. I know this is the sorry state with many boutique pizzerias, but if the delivered pies at the chains have more body and crisp bottoms than the smaller joints, then they should stick to their brick and mortar base, sling booze and not adulterate a good product.

Yelp
I knew Gusto 101 but not Gusto 501, and what a pleasant surprise. The idea of (from their web) an oversized "garage door" façade opening to a 3-tier open concept dining theatre with glowing terracotta walls.. is architecturally stunning. The trendy contemporary loft vibe of the restaurant is certainly unique with each floor adding a different ambiance. Highly recommend to reserve on Resy for popular times. The food overall was satisfying, a nice experience. - Polipo was cooked well, chewy with interesting mild flavour combinations. - Never seen a green-coloured risotto before (Risotto Verde), the rice was a familiar taste for us and the hen of the woods mushroom made it extra appetizing. - Thanks to the chef for the clean plating of Tagliata. The amount is enough to share, cooked exactly, very delicious. - We couldn't resist fresh housemade bread, Focaccia, and an order of wine! Our only downside was the seating for us was a bit tight. We had a table of two. We were a bit distracted by our surroundings and the table of two next to us, something we were not used to, as we could hear their conversations quite clearly... (other tables were full). Enjoy Gusto 501 for group gatherings and dates, especially when it is dim for a more intimate setting and enjoy the candlelight glow! Gusto 501 is a place sure to impress nonetheless and there's more dishes and spots to enjoy for next time.

Yelp
We've been here several times for Sunday brunch. Food and service are good. Nice place but it gets a bit loud.

Yelp
I am in absolute love with the vibe of the place. It's a beautiful setting here with restaurant spread over two floors and patio and indoor options. As the name suggests, it's an Italian cuisine here with wood fried pizzas, pasta and risotto. Best thing was cheap yet crisp wine on tap for just $1 per ounce. Limited choices in vegetarian but we had focaccia, vignarola salad, tomato rigatoni, truffle-mushroom based pasta and a pesto sauce risotto. Everything was good but Focaccia, Vignarola Salad and Rigatoni stole the show for me. Would be back to try Pizzas next time...looked real tempting.

Yelp
First off the server and everyone of the service staff were very helpful and kind, they even helped us find a parking spot. The restaurant inside was beautiful and clean and had a rustic vibe to it all that i loved. However, the food was disappointing. The only good item they had was the pepperoni pizza which was sweet and savory. The margarita pizza was okay and for me not worth the price. We also good the focaccia bread that was dry and hard. The most disappointing item was the spaghetti cacio e pepe dish was which super salty. If the salt was reduced, it would have tasted better but it was just way to salty. Overall, the place was okay but it was expensive.

Yelp
Good atmosphere, cool multi level restaurant. Be warned, it's a bit of a hike to get up to the rooftop patio (4 flights of stairs). The food overall is quite good. We had the kale salad, carbonara pizza, mussel tagliatelle and the mushroom pasta. - Kale salad was quite good, kale was soft and not overly bitter. - Carbonara pizza was a let down, the crust is the worst part as it was quite bready and less chewy like other artisan pizzas. Flavour was nothing exciting either but not sure what I was expecting with a carbonara pizza. Maybe a sauce would have helped? - mussel tagliatelle was good, the sauce was oceany and had a nice hit of spice after. The pasta itself was nicely prepared and cooked too. - mushroom pasta was very good. It was like a very nice campbells mushroom soup (not a bad thing) as it was very thick and heavy. Super delicious imo. The pasta in this was the best thing of the meal as well as it had a nice shape and texture. Bonus points for having $1/oz wine too. Iced Latte was nicely balanced as well. Overall I'd give it 4/5, the only knock is the pizza being a major letdown and 4 flights of stairs. Our poor server was always short of breath every time she came to check in on us/bring food/drinks. TLDR: Great vibes, don't go rooftop if you don't want to hike, get pasta and not pizza, drink lots of wine.

Yelp
So the first time I had Gusto 101 I didn't really enjoy my visit. During the pandemic I saw they opened a second location nearby, and decided to uber eats the Mafalde, and it redeemed itself! I have gone to their location twice, and neither time has disappointed. I love the modern, moody vibes, and the architectural design. It makes really good use of space for seating. Anytime I've emailed them to help with a reservation, they're so incredibly kind and quick to respond. As mentioned, the mafalde is delicious and I add chicken for protein. I love their house white, and you can order by the ounce (1 dollar/oz - how good).Their drinks are fabulous, amazing tiramisu, and the pizza is also delish. The staff is super friendly, and have never encountered any negative experiences. I just placed an order now for my mafalde and going to try their arancini. It is a touch pricy I find via uber eats, but it's worth it. Great special occasion place. If you can do pickup to save money, do it. Keep supporting local

Yelp
Fantastic food, cocktails, service and atmosphere up at the rooftop patio at Gusto 501! Heard so many good things about the sister restaurant at Gusto 101 (but it was hard to get in even before pandemic), so we have decided to try out luck at Gusto 501 ^^ It was quite the workout to go up 3 flights of stairs to the rooftop... I was out of breath but it was all worth it! There are heated lamps up there but it is still best to bring your winter jacket and a warm cardigan/scarf just in case! You have to make a reservation, and there are limited seats on the rooftop. MUST ORDER the Mafalade ai fungi aka their famous truffle cream pasta dish!! This is why everyone is here :D Or at least, this is why I AM here lol. Over the years, I have seen so many delicious posts about that famous truffle cream pasta they serve... my mouth salivates every time I see it online lol. This was literally a dream come true. The first bite was PERFECT. Creamy, delicious, al dente. The branzino fish was also delicious, along with the arancini and side of frites. Finished our dinner with some tiramisu... very tasty, not too strong on the coffee. My friend wish there were more coffee soaked ladyfingers than the cream :p but that's just her. I liked it :) Overall, a very satisfying meal at Gusto 501! I will be back again ^^

Yelp
We were close by to this location and really wanted to grab a black kale salad. Thankfully their menu is relatively the same as their other location (101). It was super easy to order and pick up our dinner. The salad was perfection as always!!! The staff here are also really nice. Sadly the mushroom pasta was a bit hard and the focaccia was absolutely soaked in oil. It was very difficult to enjoy the bread when it was dripping in our hands. We order the bread often at the other location and never have this problem. The pasta usually is more al dente but this was actually hard. Either wasn't fresh or very undercooked. But like I said, salad was perfection. I think we will stick to 101 whenever possible and maybe just grab the salads here since this seems to be more take out friendly for us (parking is a bit tough). Atleast when it comes to take out, this is what we'll stick with.
