Gravity is a futuristic cocktail bar near Canal Saint-Martin serving crafty drinks and seasonal tapas in a cozy, stylish atmosphere.
"In an area changing from industrial and warehouses to bobo chic, Gravity stands out—the small cocktail bar near Canal Saint-Martin looks sort of futuristic with its curved counter and wavy ceiling. It’s also the happy medium between a dive bar and a fancy drinking spot, so you’ll find good drinks, natural wines, and seasonal tapas like scallop sashimi and duck confit. And since you’ve already made your way here for date nights or casual cocktails, you’ll want to stay for the ‘90s and 2000s R&B playlist." - tanisha townsend
"The scenic Canal Saint-Martin neighborhood is stacked with bakeries and boutiques, making it an ideal spot to spend an afternoon. But return at night for Gravity Bar, and your reward will be an inventive cocktail in a lovely room with an open facade that looks out on a quiet block. The menu is robust, with drinks that are balanced and exciting. Take the Combattante: a savory Aquavit and stout cocktail that’s served foamy after being shaken with an egg white, served with a spoonful of ruby red tobiko on the side. On a recent visit, when the clock struck midnight, a server hopped on the bar to commemorate her birthday by pouring everyone shots, a delightfully raucous sight in the otherwise mellow and chic space." - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff & Contributors

"True to its name, you'll feel as if you bolted into outer space upon walking into this spot near Canal Saint-Martin. The bar itself is your space-ship, with concrete counters and curved slats of plywood that extend over the space via the ceiling. They like to shake things up here—both with classics (previously, they've infused their spritz with OJ) or their own creations (on a recent visit, we had the Cream Paie, made with Madera, crème de cacao, and almond-flavored crème fraîche). But while they've got around a dozen quirky cocktails to keep you sated, their wine and beer selection is top-notch, too." - Sara Lieberman
