"Explore the extensive collection of Nordic art including the dark works of Edvard Munch, Bruno Liljefors’ wildlife paintings and the so-called “golden age” of Danish painters from the 19th century. International artists are represented with works by Monet, Picasso and Rembrandt, while the local history of Gothenburg's Colorists is also explored. Check the gift shop for photography and architecture books. The small entrance fee also gives you access to the Röhsska Museum, Gothenburg City Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Natural History."

Wonderful museum. The building itself is just magnificent. There are great open spaces inside to display all kinds of art and sculptures. I had to visit 2 times as I couldn't do it justice in one place. Was lucky to catch the APOCALYPSE exhibition. Really well curated. We went early doors to avoid the crowds as it got a bit busy. The café attached was a bit odd, like a wine bar at midnight. We went to the very popular cafe a short walk away Victor's and had a gorgeous cake and coffee.

Very nice museum. I wasn't expecting such a nicely designed interior from looking at the outside of the building. Great exhibition space and a very nice mix between 'modern' and more 'classic' art works. And what a wonderful collection of expressionist works. Highly recommended.

This museum is truly a hidden gem. It wasn’t crowded when we visited, which made it easy to take our time and really enjoy the paintings without distractions. We were pleasantly surprised by the collection, a great mix of Nordic artists alongside well-known European names. This place is absolutely worth a visit.

The place was a total surprise. To start, when you only pay about 6 euros for entry, you don’t really expect much. But right from the first room, you’re amazed by how incredible the collection is. It features pieces from famous painters, as well as Nordic artists I had never encountered before and immediately appreciated. Truly stunning and worth every second.

Beautiful museum. Lots of different types of artwork. Plenty of benches to rest on. Info on art is in English as well as Swedish. Staff were very friendly. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful museum that constantly kept our attention with its variety of exhibits. This place felt like a maze as we kept finding new areas with art. Great gift shop, free lockers to store your items, and the staff were lovely. A must visit if you’re visiting Gothenburg.

Beautiful building; art is all over it, literally. The layout is not the best, but if you circle around youll end up seeing everything. Not very large either, but the art is packed in. Very much worth a visit!

recommend currently for those who are gothically / apocalypticly inspired as there is a fantastic exhibition on now called Apocalypse & it’s fantastic! queer friendly too as the final exhibition is centred around LGBTQ+ and diverse experiences and was super interesting to see. also free entry if you’re a student - so don’t miss this!
