"An active cathedral with several services throughout the day, Gothenburg Cathedral is actually the fourth place of worship to stand on this site at the heart of the city. A temporary stave church stood here while the first cathedral was built in the very early days of the city. The cathedral was rebuilt following a devastating fire in 1721, and again in 1802. The interior is decorated in a simple, classical style and although the organ was updated in the 1960s, it retains the original white and gold facade."

The free lunchtime classical concerts are an absolute must while visiting Gothenburg. This modern and stunning cathedral really sets itself apart from other such churches in its minimalist yet rich design. The cross of nails art instillation is particularly poignant.

The cathedral is free to visit and whilst inside it looks modern and dull with it's white interior this is merely a way they have designed it. It was a great place to visit to get some peace and quiet.

Beautiful cathedral with amazing architecture from Gothic era! The cathedral has an exterior of beautiful yellow stones with perfectly aligned array of arched windows. It is located in northen part of the Göteborg city surrounded by a high end fashion street housing brands like Zara, Mango, H&M to name a few. There is a double decker tourist bus stop nearby. And there’s a public library nearby - definitely worth checking place for book lovers who want to enjoy a good book with a nice cup of coffee.

Great aesthetics and an exhibition of a local artist (Linda Ljungabld) which I find wholesome. Some people omit visiting Protestant Churched thinking they are empty and unadorned, but that’s completely untrue. I found lots of inspiring architecture and modern art inside. The church lady was really nice and gave us some water, so it’s worth visiting during the summer as well. We could also paint there, as the lady set up a painting set for the visitors.

Good acoustic, nice design, arcitechture is amazing. Go here and listen to the silence or a qoire singing old madrgals, blues or Swedish folk songs is a fantastic happening. Pay a visit!
