"Dancing without Borders The impressive opera building on the harbor houses one of the major ballet companies in northern Europe—GöteborgsOperans Danskompani—with dancers from 16 countries and a good reputation when it comes to modern dance. Lovers of modern operas, musicals, and classics will also find interesting, first-rate shows here."

Today, I had the chance to watch an exceptionally beautiful and moving play. It completely captured my heart — the sadness, the joy, and even the tears. You should experience it at least once; it’s truly worth it. Setting politics aside, it’s simply a heartfelt story about love and about those who have been left behind

Göteborgsoperan is an opera house. That is located in Gothenburg, Sweden, at Lilla Bommen near the Göta älv river. It opened in 1994 and is known for its modern architecture, designed by Jan Izikowitz, which draws inspiration from both the opera world and the nearby harbor. The building is 160 meters long, 85 meters wide, and 32 meters high, with a total floor area of 28,700 square meters. Some curiosities about Göteborgsoperan: The opera house was inaugurated over three nights, with Swedish royalty attending the official gala. - It hosts a variety of performances, including opera, musicals, ballet, and concerts. The main stage features advanced technology, including a 14-meter rotating stage and movable platforms The opera house has a Svanenmärkt (eco-labeled) restaurant, offering meals 🙂🇸🇪

One tourist attraction site you should visit in Gothenburg. A calm and serene environment where one can sit and enjoy the sea view. I like how the roof of the building is designed to look like a ship’s hull.

they really splurge on their productions and it is nice to see shows in sweden with actual scenery in the staging and not just screens! one star knocked off for the annoyingly deep shape of the audience area which means that all seats on the side balconies face directly inwards towards the audience instead of titled towards the stage. can’t really be fixed but it does hurt to sit there.

The most democratic opera house I have been to so far: affordable & accessible with even musicals in the program. Its dance company has an impressive repertoire and is worth visiting for yearly world premiere. The visibility is great overall with comfortable seats made of velvet and leather (?). Drinks and food are served in the reception hall with the view over the port. It's only a 10-minute walk from the Central Station.

We went to the restaurant at Göteborgsoperan after learning about the drop-in music nights that take place on the terrace. Even though it was late July, heavy rain caused the event to be moved inside. Regardless of the weather, the vibe was cozy and inviting. The indoor area was crowded, but we still had almost two hours of amazing live opera music. Just a heads up, prices are a little higher than usual, but the quality of the performance and the atmosphere make it worth it.
