"Goorin Bros. Hat Shop Many of New York’s original haberdasheries have vanished over the years, victims of high rents and changing customer tastes. But classic hats have been making a comeback among New Yorkers lately, and Goorin Bros. is one of the popular places to buy a quality hat. Styles here vary by season, but whatever the time of year and whatever the type of style you buy, there will always be feathers, hat pins, and other adornments you can purchase as add-ons to make your hat one-of-a-kind."

My partner and I love this place. We have to stop ourselves from going because we just keep spending our money here. Great hats, great service, beautiful little shop. The pins and feathers and hat belts are all great too. They also clean hats at no cost! Even if they weren't purchased there. Can't say enough good things about them.

Great shop - quality hats, with professional, knowledgeable staff. These hats will be with you forever. Frank was very discreet, patient and knew what hat would suit each customer

Goorin Brothers hats are among three best made, in my humble opinion. This is the Goorin Brothers on Bleeker Street in Manhattan (There are also two others in Brooklyn). Their felt hats are priced around $150.00, some a little less. I'd say the felt hats are well worth the money, the straw hats usually around $90.00, add flat caps and newsboys also around $90.00. Maybe I could find a less expensive flat cap, but these are better made and better looking than those you'd find at a department store. Spend your hat money here!

One of the nicest customer service experiences ever in NYC. The salesman saw I had stained my blazer somehow and he offered to clean it with his hat steamer and a sponge. My only regret is not finding a hat to buy. Super nice thing to do. Thanks. Nice selection of hats.

I visited this store with an acquaintance and we experienced the following strangeness. We brought back a hat that wasn't cheap, it cost $300. Unfortunately, the hat size was not good for the big Christmas present. That's why we asked them to help exchange it for another size. There was a young blonde woman who willingly wanted to help us, but next to her was an Afro New York babe who didn't want to help us at all. Not even when my plane left for London the next day. The Afro baboon kept repeating that he was not competent in this, that the protocol had to be followed. And it just didn't help to find a bigger size. I would like to tell the owner of the hat shop that it is time to look at the nails of this Afro baby, because he is not really friendly in his service and is not looking for a solution, but for conflict, and he is surrounded by such a negative wave that we listened to his inhuman attitude with great attention . It would be time for the owner to ask him why he didn't give us his number when we wanted to talk to the owner. He treated us like a drug addict, completely obsessed with his excuses. The only other serving staff wanted to help us with the exchange, but the afro baby talked him out of helping too. Finally, the afro doll suggested that we buy another hat. And let's call customer service, maybe they will refund our money or allow the exchange. In better places, this usually ends smoothly with an exchange. I ask the owner of the store to educate the service staff about this incident and teach them to treat them humanely.

Small store but a really great selection for both men and women. When I got to the store they unfortunately didn’t have the hat I wanted in the store so I ended up spending more on a Christmas present for my dad than I was planning but he loves it. I recommend calling ahead of time to talk with someone about the hat you're interested in if you’re going in person. They have multiple locations. The staff also were cool and were showing me all the different styles and how to wear them. I’m definitely going back to splurge on myself one day.

Very pleased with the quality and selection even for my great big dome. Purchased two hats. The salesman was a delight to work with and made brilliant recommendations without getting in our face at all. Can't wait to need another hat so I can come back to this shop!

Not much stock, and most of it much less impressive than the hats on the websites. I had a gift card I'd never used (mainly because of the same reasons I'm about to elucidate), but had a hard time finding a hat that both looked good and was in my size. The one fellow working there wasn't very helpful. They only hat that appealed to me that was in my size was sold out online, or if have gotten it online. I asked for sanitizer before trying on hats (to avoid possibly soiling the hats) but he suggested I go next door. I wound up washing my hands using my water bottle. I did get the hat but I doubt I'll ever get another here.
