If you’re someone who loves bookstores, don’t skip over this one. Wonderful mixture between popular and unique titles. Store was beautiful, staff was very kind and we were able to pick up a book my wife was looking for! I’d highly recommend!

A tiny little bookstore with the friendliest staff! Even thought the staff knew that I was only in town to visit, they were unbelievably helpful and found 3 books that I have really enjoyed. I am especially impressed that one of the staff recommended a YA book, even though I'm an adult. This book ended up being my favorite, and possibly one of the best I've read this year. Thank you!!!

Lovely independent book shop, which had friendly, helpful, welcoming staff and a lovely and very interesting range of fiction and non-fiction titles, most of which I had never come across before, and whose authors I wasn't aware of. They have some lovely gifts too, including a range of Golden Hare items, a range of themed poetry birthday cards and some very fancily wrapped bars of chocolate. They have a shelf of books that are all wrapped, with a hand written, card luggage label attached, which gives a brief synopsis of the book, but no clue to the title or author, thus an intriguing way to try out something different. My family and I spent a lovely time browsing on the afternoon of our arrival for a brief stay in Stockbridge and I enjoyed it so much, that I went back for a second visit a few days later, at which point, being close to closing time, they were getting ready for a promotional event. Very well worth a visit, it is also just round the corner from Edinburgh Mercantile: 'The New Curiosity Shop' and the picturesque Circus Lane.

What a wonderful book store!! I stopped in during my solo day wandering the city, and they have incredibly beautiful editions. I specifically circled back for a special Hunger Games set, and the people who work here are so welcoming. Highlight of my trip for sure!!

Swoon. I am completely taken by this independent bookshop. - Head over heels! This is the book haven of my dreams, with a warm fire and suitably good tunes in the background. Golden Hare is all classics and interesting new reads, pointing you boldly in the direction of something different. And I really, really like that. I popped in for a present, and after quite the browse, found the perfect book for the occasion. I had to show some serious restraint because so, so many of the books stood out to me. I loved the super-cute brown tags which hung from each of the shelves and categorised the shop into genres. They also had a pretty neat looking selection of graphic novels; something I've been meaning to get stuck into for a while. Service was chirpy, which was the cherry on the cake. I just couldn't resist telling them how lovely their bookshop is, and now I can't resist telling you.

This is a uniquely decorated shop. Its adorable. I love perusing bookshops whenever I travel and this one was lovely to skim through. They didn't have the book I was looking for but I enjoyed the time spent there also. Bright books against white walls, its like a candyshop!
