Entrance fees are reasonable for the extensive offerings, and tickets can be purchased online to skip queues. The park features a variety of activities, including adrenaline-pumping roller coasters, family-friendly rides, and a fascinating underground gold mine tour that showcases the city’s history. There’s a dedicated kiddies’ area, great food options, and friendly staff. The vibrant atmosphere and well-maintained grounds make it a perfect outing for all ages. Highly recommended!

Never disappoints! Always a great experience, great for the kids. Laser tag was great. Took advantage of there March special R1300 for 4, including entry, one activity and meal voucher!

I advise that you buy tickets online, otherwise you will still get there and buy tickets online there whilst you wait by the entrance. I had a pleasant experience despite the heat, it was a very hot day and we queue for the rides in the sun so maybe bring a small umbrella of you can. The wait for rides in the queues can be anything between 10-20 minutes, with that said go early if you want to try out all the rides.

Came with overseas family. Went down the gold mine. That was very interesting! Kids went on a few rides, and enjoyed it. Sad to see some restaurants have closed, but it was outside of school holidays, so generally a bit quieter than it can get in peak holiday season. Always check which rides will be closed for maintenance before going, to avoid disappointment. You also have to book online, and cannot purchase tickets at the gate.

We decided to buy tickets online, thinking it would save us some time, but despite purchasing online, we still ended up waiting quite a while, around 10 minutes or more. Surprisingly, the line for people buying tickets at the gate moved much quicker. Once inside, though, the experience was worth it. The setup was fantastic, with some early Halloween decorations and fun mascots that really tap into your inner child. From the moment you step in, you’re immersed in a beautiful environment. The greenery and trees make the place visually pleasing, adding to the overall vibe. There are tons of games to play, but realistically, you won’t be able to try them all, especially on weekends. The more popular games have long lines, and you can end up waiting anywhere from 10 minutes to half an hour or more, only to have 15 to 30 seconds of gameplay. While the games are a lot of fun, you should prioritize just a handful—maybe 5 to 10 games—because time goes fast. Ten is probably a stretch unless you visit during the week. Patience is key here. If you go, make sure you’re not in a rush, and plan to spend the whole day at Gold Reef City to really enjoy it. That said, it’s an amazing place. The games are exciting, the park is well-maintained and beautiful, and I was surprised to learn they even have a casino, a hotel, and a fun company arcade nearby. Overall, it was a great experience, but just be ready for some long waits.

We booked a birthday party for the kids. What an amazing experience! Abida and her team at the party venue was amazing. Such proactive and professional service and communication from the day we enquired. We were welcomed early into the park and they took such amazing care of all our belongings while we enjoyed the day filled with fun. Great value for money!

Gold Reef City Theme Park has some amazing rides, but the experience is seriously dampened by the extremely long queues. We spent the entire day waiting in line, only to realize we couldn't even go on all the rides we wanted to try. The wait times were frustrating, with some lines moving so slowly it felt like the whole day was wasted standing around. The park clearly needs better crowd management, especially during peak times. Perhaps introducing timed entry tickets for popular rides or a more affordable fast-pass system could help. While the park offers great attractions, the queuing system is a major downside, making it hard to fully enjoy the experience. If you're planning a visit, prepare to spend a significant portion of your day standing in line rather than enjoying the rides.
