Global Cheese Shoppe

I normally go to St. Lawrence Market to buy my cheeses and other deli products but since Global Cheese is closer to me, I decided to try them. The cheese prices are nowhere displayed so when you want something you have to ask for them. Price wise some of the cheese is a little bit cheaper (sometimes $1 less per 100g) than St. Lawrence. You would think that you're saving money but when you're finally paying at the counter you will be taken aback because of how expensive it was but also wondering why the hell it looks smaller than it seems. I know they weigh them but who knows what's happening behind the counter coz you don't get to see the final weight of the cheese. The St. Andre cheese I bought also doesn't taste fresh at all. I guess I'm back to buying cheese from my fave St. Lawrence cheesemonger.

The staff here are very kind and helpful. Always eager to let you try a sample of their products before you purchase anything and are fantastic at giving recommendations. Solid variety of cheese and others goods, and very fair prices, way better than the big box stores. Love supporting this shop whenever I’m in the area!

I am IN LOVE with this place. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, you can get cheese samples to guide your purchase, and they have plenty of cheeses…. Enough said! This is cheese heaven.

Global Cheese in Toronto's Kensington Market: When it comes to cheese - you speak my language (just like the sign says.) And you have my cheese and olive oil. I really appreciated this. Please keep it rolling in from Sardinia. The staff was great and very helpful. It was a really nice way to start the day. Thank you.

We love Global Cheese on Norseman. Today we visited there for some Christmas goodies & when we got home, we got such a nice surprise - inside our bag, was a Happy Holidays bag of Cantucci - what a lovely gesture. I went there to buy a Camembert and I asked how old was it (young and old Camembert don’t taste the same), the answer I got was ‘middle’ but when I arrived at home and opened it, found out that it was beyond old. When it’s brown like that it’s way too old, shouldn’t even be sold anymore. This shop is full of unprofessional ppl who know nothing about cheese.

Global Cheese Shop in Kensington Market is the BEST cheese shop in Toronto! It is definitely a beloved Toronto institution. I’ve tried so many delicious cheeses here thanks to the expertise and fantastic service of everyone working here. For many years I’ve been focused on raw, unpasteurized cheeses that’s been helping my health and some of these can be pricey. But it’s been a vital investment in my long term health. The staff here made it fun and educational and turned me into a big fan of so many international cheeses. Recently, Global Cheese Shop brought back their iconic, colourful signs on their windows showing special cheese deals. I was so happy to see them again and wanted to try a whole bunch of new cheeses! Out of the 6 cheeses I tried my favourites were Irish Regato, Hommage Goat Gouda and Mimolette that looked like the colour of cantaloupes! All were so delicious and nutritious. Highly recommend you visit! And when you do say hello to Manny, Rosie, Emma or Paul and tell them I sent you!

Today I went to the store at 5:20 pm because the closing time was 6:00 pm. I wanted to buy Raclette cheese and the first thing I noticed when I entered was the apathy with which the staff greeted you, plus Half of the store was already turned off and closed with signs. They didn't even look at you, much less greet you. I approached a lady and a girl to buy the product and the first question was, how much? When, as every expert (I thought you were) should know, the first question is the about which type. When we mentioned the quantity and the types, their first and only answer was; no, we can't. We already turned off the machine to cut the slices. Wow, as someone who works in customer service, it's embarrassing to receive that kind of "service" so inefficient and unfriendly. I'm surprised to receive that kind of treatment from a small, local business. I guess they don't care too much about selling since this kind of behavior is to not sell and lose customers.
