"Nestled in scenic parkland near the northern section of Lago Maggiore, Giardino Ascona is an intimate retreat. The hotel’s 72 rooms and suites are spacious and decorated with chic, modern furnishings set against bright, breezy color schemes. Balconies or terraces offer great views of a water-lily-filled pond and the nearby Ticino Mountains., and all rooms include conveniences such as minibars, flat-screen TVs, and DVD players. Bathrooms come with Dipiù cosmetics as well as bathrobes and slippers. As gorgeous as the rooms are, you may find yourself outside most of the time, sunning by the pool, getting pampered in the spa, or exploring the olive and lemon trees of the Mediterranean-style garden. Stayed with the whole family for more than a week. Had an excellent vacation thanks to remarkable service, the rooms and hotel were very clean, the staff was very attentive and the food was really great, both in the bar, the hide and seek restaurant and the fine dining restaurant ecco. We celebrated my wife’s 40’s birthday and the staff arranged it perfectly. Many thanks, hope to visit again. P.S: the mattresses in the rooms fixed my back - which model Is it? Would love to purchase it for my self

My family ended our nearly three week European vacation here near this beautiful lake in Southern Switzerland. We couldn't have been happier with our stay, everything from the excellent boutique service, fantastic restaurants including an incredible breakfast buffet (many healthy options), a large kids club area, the pools, the proximity to Lake Maggiore. They have a great selection of bikes to ride to the lake, which we couldn't be more impressed with the activity and beauty of the lake. And the housekeeping service was very kind and attentive, each day preparing the second bed for us morning and night. Wonderful stay!

We recently had the immense pleasure of spending a few days at Giardino Ascona, and it truly exceeded every expectation—it was the perfect escape to celebrate my husband’s birthday.||From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a serene oasis tucked away in the vibrant heart of Ascona. The lush garden surrounding the hotel instantly set the tone: peaceful, elegant, and meticulously maintained. It felt like stepping into a world of calm—a true retrait from the everyday.||The service was impeccable from start to finish. Highly personalised and warm, the staff made us feel not only welcomed but genuinely cared for. A special thank you to Claudio, Wolfgang and the entire team, who helped me plan every detail to ensure my husband’s birthday was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness made this a truly unforgettable experience.||Dining at Ristorante Ecco with Chef Reto Brändl was another highlight. His cuisine was both innovative and emotionally stirring—each dish a carefully crafted work of art. It wasn’t just dinner; it was a sensory journey. Every bite told a story, and the presentation was like looking at a painting on a plate.||The spa was equally exceptional—high quality treatments in a tranquil setting that further enhanced the sense of relaxation and well-being we were looking for.||This stay was more than just a luxurious getaway—it was a meaningful experience, full of warmth, beauty, and care. Our stay was exceptional in every way. The hospitality was flawless — warm, attentive, and always respectful. We felt genuinely welcomed, and it was a pleasure to see that our dog was also kindly accepted and treated with care. The highlight of our experience was without a doubt the food. We had the chance to try both Ecco and The Hide, and each offered a unique experience: • Ecco impressed us with its elegant, modern cuisine. The dishes were refined, well-balanced, and beautifully presented — perfect for a relaxed yet high-quality dinner. • The Hide, on the other hand, took us on a true gastronomic journey. Each course was a symphony of flavors, meticulously crafted and harmoniously paired. A creative, bold, and unforgettable dining experience. The level of precision and artistry in every bite was simply remarkable. This hotel masters the art of hospitality and fine dining. A rare combination that makes it worth coming back to. Highly recommended.

Overpriced & understaffed. Waited for drinks at the bar had to ask for manager. Went for dinner waited 20 minutes to get a wine list and a menu. Waited 1hr 10mins for main course. Room not worth the money, food not worth the money. Not enough staff, not attentive enough for this price point. All the fine decor and furniture can’t make up for lazy staff. Food average. Bathroom has very odd window into bedroom with a curtain. Also toilet in bathroom separated by glass screen. Whole thing is too complicated and not very good. Location is meh, two turns down a residential street and into the hotel. No view at all just a garden. Honestly we stayed at a hotel for less than half the price last night with a much better view, amazing spa and pool, good food, and less than 45 mins drive. I don’t know why people would pay £800 a night here.

BEWARE. They overcharged us. Our trip was was ruined by them overcharging my family by nearly 1,000 CHF. I thought it was a genuine error & misunderstanding, but the Giardino has refused to correct their mistake. They communicated at checkout that they would fix it when we brought it to their attention. It has been a year and they have not fixed it. Note, we followed up after arriving home multiple times. Now they give me a run around and say it was a valid charge. Marriott has not been helpful either as they said the hotel has to fix it. The hotel tells me they are unable to. It is absolutely horrible customer service to put the customer in the middle of corporate inefficiencies and communication break downs. They accept them on Marriott.com and the terms & conditions list this hotel, but they don't care and don't honor it. I should state I am a Gold level member with Marriott with loyalty of over 15 years. If they treat a loyal customer this way, I would assume it would be worse for anyone else. I'm going to have to reach out to executives at Marriott to try to get our money back. Do not attempt to use your loyalty points here. I suggest saving yourself the headache and time suck of dealing with this unethical individual and staying somewhere else.

In line with their slogan un pò di più a little bit more! the Giardino indeed offers not only everything you would expect from a five star-hotel, but you will be pleasantly suprised to explore even more. Be it the special welcome drink in combination with a very warm welcome, the proactive suggestions how to get the most from your stay at Lago Maggiore (e.g. by taking a ride with the hotel's own Thömus bikes) or the spa area. All this goes with a superior service - be in the recently renovated rooms or the restaurant and bar. Definitely, one of the best hotels in Switzerland with a very family-like touch. Though not inexpensive, but more than worth the money. We will for sure return for a longer stay.
