"Nestled in scenic parkland near the northern section of Lago Maggiore, Giardino Ascona is an intimate retreat. The hotel’s 72 rooms and suites are spacious and decorated with chic, modern furnishings set against bright, breezy color schemes. Balconies or terraces offer great views of a water-lily-filled pond and the nearby Ticino Mountains., and all rooms include conveniences such as minibars, flat-screen TVs, and DVD players. Bathrooms come with Dipiù cosmetics as well as bathrobes and slippers. As gorgeous as the rooms are, you may find yourself outside most of the time, sunning by the pool, getting pampered in the spa, or exploring the olive and lemon trees of the Mediterranean-style garden. There are also two excellent restaurants, one with two Michelin stars, and frequent wine degustations in the wine cellar."

Our stay was exceptional in every way. The hospitality was flawless — warm, attentive, and always respectful. We felt genuinely welcomed, and it was a pleasure to see that our dog was also kindly accepted and treated with care. The highlight of our experience was without a doubt the food. We had the chance to try both Ecco and The Hide, and each offered a unique experience: • Ecco impressed us with its elegant, modern cuisine. The dishes were refined, well-balanced, and beautifully presented — perfect for a relaxed yet high-quality dinner. • The Hide, on the other hand, took us on a true gastronomic journey. Each course was a symphony of flavors, meticulously crafted and harmoniously paired. A creative, bold, and unforgettable dining experience. The level of precision and artistry in every bite was simply remarkable. This hotel masters the art of hospitality and fine dining. A rare combination that makes it worth coming back to. Highly recommended.

We recently had the immense pleasure of spending a few days at Giardino Ascona, and it truly exceeded every expectation—it was the perfect escape to celebrate my husband’s birthday.||From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a serene oasis tucked away in the vibrant heart of Ascona. The lush garden surrounding the hotel instantly set the tone: peaceful, elegant, and meticulously maintained. It felt like stepping into a world of calm—a true retrait from the everyday.||The service was impeccable from start to finish. Highly personalised and warm, the staff made us feel not only welcomed but genuinely cared for. A special thank you to Claudio, Wolfgang and the entire team, who helped me plan every detail to ensure my husband’s birthday was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness made this a truly unforgettable experience.||Dining at Ristorante Ecco with Chef Reto Brändl was another highlight. His cuisine was both innovative and emotionally stirring—each dish a carefully crafted work of art. It wasn’t just dinner; it was a sensory journey. Every bite told a story, and the presentation was like looking at a painting on a plate.||The spa was equally exceptional—high quality treatments in a tranquil setting that further enhanced the sense of relaxation and well-being we were looking for.||This stay was more than just a luxurious getaway—it was a meaningful experience, full of warmth, beauty, and care. We left feeling truly rejuvenated and full of joy.||We will definitely return soon and continue our exploration.

The hotel was friendly but very family-oriented. We sat around the pool, but so many children were running around and screaming. This was not what we expected. Our booked room was unavailable at 3 pm, so they upgraded us to the same room in the new wing. However, it was close to the baby pool, which was even noisier. ||The reception staff were fine but not friendly. It took them more than 30 minutes to check us in. When we left, they did not help to lift the luggage to the car, but the staff did for the French before us. Maybe I was an Asian.......||The staff in the restaurant was the best—very friendly and efficient. The food in the Hide & Seek and the ECCO restaurant was nice. ||While the hotel is clearly designed for families, it may not be the ideal spot for couples seeking a quieter retreat. There were some instances where the staff could benefit from additional training to ensure a consistently high level of service.

As a fairly seasoned world traveler, I can emphatically say this is the most spectacular place I've ever stayed. Everything about the property (and village of Ascona) is magical! They made this birthday one to remember (and the cake delivered to the room was excellent)!||The hotel is pure luxury in a very relaxed setting and this is a difficult balance to strike, but they do so with perfection. ||The grounds and rooms are immaculate. We stayed in a beautiful two room suite, and loved the pop of color with the purple sofa in the living room. Sitting on the balcony and looking out at the mountains was mesmerizing. And the heated floors in the bathrooms are a nice touch! ||The service is top notch, as expected. I'd like to recognize Sophia, who checked us in, Salvatore and the bar, and Jennifer, at Ecco, for their particularly wonderful service. Speak of Ecco, that is the best meal my wife and I have had. It is most definitely not an everyday meal, but was worth every penny. The courses and the flavors all complemented one another with perfection. Meeting Chef Rolf at the end was a real treat! ||We took advantage of the complimentary bicycles and rode into Ascona for a lovely afternoon. I wish we had time for the pool and spa, but both looked just as immaculate as the rest of the property. ||Everyone should be so lucky to get to experience a place like this. Returning is at the very top of our list!

Love this place. Service was impeccable but not at all presumptuous. Everyone was super helpful. Front desk was incredibly thoughtful. ||Details on the property and room were beautiful. Rooms felt like a home without the kitchen. Garden and pool are immaculate. Breakfast was very good for a European bk. They would bring pillows and tea at night. ||We didn’t get to eat at the 2* place as it was closed on the days we stayed. Next time||Highly recommend.

Title: A Memorable Stay at Giardino Ascona – Pure Luxury and Unmatched Service I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Giardino Hotel in Ascona, Switzerland, and I can confidently say it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury that made me feel like royalty. Exceptional Service: The hallmark of my stay was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by the dedicated staff. Every team member I encountered was not only professional but genuinely warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure that my every need was met, from personalized greetings to thoughtful recommendations for local attractions. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in their work, and their attention to detail truly enhanced my experience. Gourmet Dining: The culinary offerings at Giardino were nothing short of spectacular. Each meal was a delightful journey for the senses, showcasing the best of local ingredients and innovative flavors. The breakfast buffet was a feast, offering a wide array of options, from fresh pastries and artisanal cheeses to healthy smoothies and hot dishes made to order. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was a highlight of my stay; the menu featured exquisite dishes that beautifully blended traditional Swiss flavors with contemporary flair. The presentation was artful, and each bite was a testament to the skill and creativity of the chefs. Luxurious Accommodations: The accommodations themselves were a dream. This hotel was nice. The service was exceptional. Very friendly and very focused on the guests. But the hotel very much caters to families with children. Do not stay here if you are a couple who wants a quiet time. The main pool is like a total madhouse with kids running around the place. The staff don’t make any effort to ask the children to use the children’s pool. So it’s really noisy. On arrival we received a free upgrade to a suite with a garden. We paid Fr.1035 for the junior suite that we booked. Judging by the size of the main suite, I don’t think the junior suite would’ve been good value for money. Free upgrades always sounds nice but you have to be careful. Our room came with a garden but it looked into the back of another building and it was right next to the children’s pool so it was so noisy we couldn’t use the garden. The two star Michelin restaurant was lovely but it is right beside the main restaurant of hotel where all the family sit. The division between the two restaurants is a curtain. So if you’re unlucky you can be sitting beside family with crying children for the whole meal. 1000 Swiss francs for the meal to listen to children cry… I don’t think so. They need to sort this out. Again, the service was very friendly and very good, but I wouldn’t return.

Can not say enough about this hotel. Absolutely beautiful grounds, great food, and wonderful service. The kids club onsite is great and the hotel and staff really make kids feel welcome but it doesn't give off a family hotel vibe. We will be back!

Yelp
In line with their slogan un pò di più a little bit more! the Giardino indeed offers not only everything you would expect from a five star-hotel, but you will be pleasantly suprised to explore even more. Be it the special welcome drink in combination with a very warm welcome, the proactive suggestions how to get the most from your stay at Lago Maggiore (e.g. by taking a ride with the hotel's own Thömus bikes) or the spa area. All this goes with a superior service - be in the recently renovated rooms or the restaurant and bar. Definitely, one of the best hotels in Switzerland with a very family-like touch. Though not inexpensive, but more than worth the money. We will for sure return for a longer stay.
