Took my mountain bike in, got a service, shortened the handlebars, replaced a wheel and got new break pads. No fuss, I just walked in on the Monday morning and had it back in a week. Lovely customer service!

Situated on the corner of Lavender Hill and Garfield Road SW11 is a Bicycle Shop called Get a Grip. This bicycle shop is your one stop for your bicycle repairs and servicing. I’ve used this bicycle shop several times to have repairs on a couple of old bikes and the service here is definitely 10 out of 10. The bicycle mechanic Troy is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and very reasonably priced for fixing and repairing bicycles. The service was excellent and quick, sometimes the bike was repaired there and then, and other times the bicycle had to be booked in. But nevertheless , the bike was fixed when it said it was going to be fixed and I received a text to tell me when the bike was fixed. A fast quick prompt service which is great. The repairs to the bike were excellent and all work was carried out to the highest professional standard at a very good price. Overall I would highly recommend using this bicycle shop for repairs and servicing as it’s reasonably priced and the service is first class. For anyone that needs a bike repaired or serviced in this area I would strongly advise people to use this bike shop. The shop takes cash & credit cards.

Great bicycle shop with excellent service! Troy is a really nice guy and very knowledgeable. I had a seized bottom bracket removed here—the price was lower than other nearby shops, and he even greased and re-tapped the threads for me at no extra cost. Troy was super helpful and easy to talk to. While I was there, I saw him working on everything from full carbon aero triathlon bikes to downhill beasts. You can tell he’s genuinely passionate about bikes, which is exactly the kind of person you want working on yours. Highly recommended!

Top quality work at a good price, bring your bike/money to a craftsman and not a faceless “chain” bike shop! My bike needed a new cassette. I dropped the bike off on a Friday, was told it would be ready the following week. The bike was ready on Tuesday (the next working day), much earlier than promised and at a good price. Troy (the owner operator) communicates clearly and delivers a high quality service.

Very Kids friendly!!! My child's bicycle wasn't working properly, but it was quickly fixed. The missing screw was also replaced, and my son was very happy. Thank you!

Troy at Get A Grip was exceptional from start to finish. Troy is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but he’s also genuinely passionate about what he does — and it shows. He took the time to understand exactly what I needed, offered great advice without being pushy, and turned the job around far quicker than I expected. The communication throughout the process was clear and timely — I was never left wondering what stage the work was at or when I could expect it back. On top of the excellent service and quick turnaround, the pricing was more than fair. It’s refreshing to find a shop where you know you’re getting honest value for money without any unnecessary upselling.

They fixed my bike in under an hour, the same day. Super convenient for me since I use this bike every day to commute to work. They were very nice both on the phone and in person, and the price is very fair. I'll be bringing my bike there from now on

Yelp
This independent bicycle repair / servicing workshop opened in summer 2011, and I had such a great experience when I went there for the first time this week that they now have a regular customer, and I also felt motivated to write a rare online review! Outstanding customer service (eg personalised text messages updating you on progress of your service), excellent quality of workmanship, customer-friendly opening hours, and keen pricing. I called round 3 other places (both independents and chains) and their pricing was the most competitive. They have various tiers of service available and once they see the bike recommend which you need (not necessarily the most expensive they recommended a more basic one for mine). They also offer as standard a free follow-up check to ensure everything is still working smoothly, 4 6 weeks after every service, which I believe is unique among bike workshops (at least I've never seen it anywhere else anyway). They also really know what they are doing on the technical side the mechanic Troy said he has been doing this for 15 years. A proper old-school independent bicycle workshop the place is owner-managed and you get the feeling that they really care about you as a customer. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
