Georgia O'Keeffe House Museum

Kind of a must visit when in Santa Fe. Amazing documentation of the life of a famously major American artist. O’Keefe was a skillful artist and with a uniquely uncommon personality and lifestyle. Her life story makes you wish you knew her. A visit to her house gets you very close to fulfill such wish.

If you are in Santa Fe worth the visit to the GO museum. You can do on your own if you don't want to download an app. Very interesting as it includes both her artwork and objects from her life. It's a leisurely Sunday afternoon activity... 2 hours tops!!

O’Keffee is one of my favorite artists. I was so lucky to go and check her home and saw all those places that inspired her. Highly recommend to book way ahead of time.

Michelle was THE BEST guide. Our group had a lot of questions about the acequia, her drinking habits, dogs and travel. She patiently answered each and added even more interesting info. This tour is not to be missed-if you love mid-centiry furniture and design masters or New Mexican traditional architecture, go see this home.

Visit the House Museum and truly get an idea of the last 35 years of Georgia O'Keefe's contributions to the art world. Great tour by Lynn.

This visit was sublime. On my bucket list, the house and gardens exemplify the mental giant that she was. Everything is purposeful and you walk away with a glimpse into her soul. The tours are well done with great respect for preserving her house and grounds. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and thoughtful. Wonderful experience that I highly recommend!

Really disappointing experience. We came all the way from Italy and had chosen this museum as a special stop during our trip to New Mexico. Unfortunately, the reception was terrible. The brunette girl at the front desk was extremely inflexible and rude, denying us entry without giving adequate explanations and showing no willingness to offer alternative solutions. It was particularly frustrating since we had specifically planned to visit. This kind of attitude is not what you’d expect from a cultural institution. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend it.

Rustic Artist Retreat meets Dude Ranch. Fascinating history & breathtaking scenery -- the area inspired one of the Southwest's most iconic painters. Great hiking & horseback trail riding. Swimming pool & museum. Accommodations range from a cowboy bunkhouse to an entire house. Cafeteria is adequate, like a summer camp. Don't arrive expecting a Four Seasons experience, and you'll love it, too.

Absolutely had the best time horseback riding here at ghost ranch! We had the best wrangler--Emma! We had a private 1.5 tour with her through the fields and by all the Georgia OKeefe spots! The horses were beautiful and super fun to take out there! Emma made our adventure so fun! If you can get her you will be so pleased! We also hiked chimney rock--a quick 1.5 hour trail up and back! So much to explore and have fun!

Nothing like receiving a call from a client who is sitting outside crying because they have denied entry to her service dog. I know people hate lawyers but this is why they exist. My client had even called ahead - there are no excuses. I look forward to hearing how they will modify training of their staff moving forward.

Buyer beware when you make your reservations. I called for a reservation at the same time my sister did, and because the Ranch's credit card system wasn't working, the woman I spoke to on the phone said she'd run it later, after it came up. Well, she never did, and by the time I realized what had happened and called them back, apparently all the rooms in the actual rental property were taken. So my husband and I ended up in the "Staff House" and let me be absolutely clear: It was a DUMP. The sink was hanging off the wall, the shower was so dark it was a safety hazard, the furnaces looked like they were about to start an electrical fire at any moment, the toilet wasn't installed properly, there were cracks in the cinder blocks where we could actually see daylight. My sister and her husband ended up in poplar, which while it was tired, at least had chairs in the room to sit on (ours did not). And even though THEY were the ones who made the mistake, they still charged us $185 a night for the cinder block wall dump - the same as the price my sister paid for the actual hotel room at poplar. For an additional $41 a night, we could have stayed at the Abiquiu Inn, which is what we'll do next time. Abiquiu is amazing, as is Georgia O'Keefe's in-town house and the rock formations, but the accommodations are in a sorry state of affairs. If you're not going for a program or a retreat, save yourself from the "Staff House" and stay in town.

My wife is a fan of Georgia O'Keeffe, an artist famous for New Mexico landscape paintings, who spent quite a bit of time here. Passing through nearby Santa Fe, we detoured to spend a night out here and go on a trail ride. The ranch is a mile off the highway north of Abiquiu down a rough part paved and gravel road. We arrived in the morning for our 10am trail ride. If you drive an EV, best to charge fully in Santa Fe before coming up or rent one of their powered campsites to charge on site. Our cabin was basic accommodations with two full beds that had mattresses befitting the age of the ranch. There was a bathroom en suite but that is not the case for some rooms. The shower worked fine though with plenty of hot water. There is no TV in the cabin, very weak cell service and limited power outlets. That's fine though as after a day of riding and/or hiking, just sit outside and gape at the massive Milky Way galaxy overhead at night. The skies here are dark and we got many amazing pictures just using an iPhone. Breakfast in the dining hall is included but we left before it opened. We did have dinner there though for a reasonable fee. The menu changes every night but on this evening they served a shrimp stir fry that wasn't bad. We were just thrilled to be eating vegetables for a change.

Did the morning horse ride and it was 90 minutes. Very calm ride with a wrangler that gave us the history of ghost ranch. The landscapes are out of a John Ford western and very photogenic. I'm not a big horse rider, but as a novice no problem me surviving the ride.

Visiting from Oklahoma and had always wanted to see Ghost Ranch because family lore has it that it was my great grandfather's brothers that founded the place in the 1880's. (Archuleta's) Seeing some of the area on horseback with Ghost Ranch Wranglers for the 1 and a half hour ride was way above expectations. Christine - a wrangler, knows more of my family history than I do! The weather was perfect and the horses are sweet, very gentle and well cared for. Don't worry, they will not run on those walking trails so I would say it's just fine for inexperienced riders. Another impressive site was the Ghost House dwelling. The adobe home with the two Cottonwoods in front is not to be missed. Can't wait to go back!

Overall, I enjoyed a 1.5 hour horseback riding tour of Ghost Ranch and Georgia O'Keefe's. I generally love animals..so having a chance to ride a horse and be with this kind animal was pretty cool (though I went with a group of friends who weren't as comfortable being around animals...so it was a bit scary/caused them anxiety at times when they needed to redirect/ control their horses). I thought it was a nice get away hearing about art, landscape, etc of Ghost Ranch. That said, I'm not a huge movies fan and wouldn't say I knew too much about Georgia O'Keefe (only heard of their work), so I could see why 1.5 hour was a bit too long...but the riding the horse...I was totally cool with that length of time though. Few of my friends were in worse situation. They didn't know too much about movies, art and didn't know much about Georgia O'Keefe...so..I guess they definitely wished they could do the tour with shorter length of time. Also, if you aren't used to much physical activity...riding a horse for that long...may make you feel tired. For me, I had been hiking almost everyday to walk/exercise my dogs...so I didn't feel much soreness after. That said, my friends were complaining about the soreness even the day after! So...take it that I warned you already (the guide will warn you/emphasize you stretch/do some walking/hike after riding the horse on the tour as well! Overall, I enjoyed it...more so about riding a horse and seeing new landscape of NM. Definitely good if you feel ok/don't have too much anxiety riding horses...and are a fan of cowboys movies...of Georgia O'Keefe...or just enjoy seeing nature in general.

I went for the 2-week Artist Residency in August 2024 after my artist friend who has gone there several times loved it because of the camaraderie with other artists. This was my main reason for going, and much to my disappointment, I was there alone. I didn't want to spend even more money on expensive tours to keep me entertained. I'm so glad that I only paid for 2 weeks and not for the 1 month residency. When registering I asked how many others there were and she did not know. I expressed that I want to make sure there were other artists and I just assumed there would be. I'm still learning to never Assume and I should have checked back again before I departed since you cannot rely on them. They just wanted to fill a space and make some money. Just beware, if you go for an artist residency check with them right before you go unless you don't mind being there alone. I certainly would have rescheduled if I would have known. There was no communication and when I arrived at the visitor center there was not much of a welcoming or adequate directions on how to get to my casita so after driving around in circles I finally found someone to help me. It was quite an investment for me to go financially and my time, etc. driving from California. I contacted them about my experience and also filled out their requested feedback online, but have never heard back, so evidently they only want to hear from you when things go well.

This was surprisingly one of the highlights of my recent trip to New Mexico. I was in Santa Fe but wanted to get out of there for the day. I cant say I'm a huge follower of Georgia O'Keeffe art but there was a cool museum. I mostly came here for the hiking trails. Kitchen Mesa and Chimney Rock were excellent. Amazing views of the incredible Ranch.

Breathtaking scenery even on cloudy days. Some of the housing is luxurious for an old range (ie hot water and in suite bathrooms.). Bring you hiking boots. The cafeteria offers vegan, gluten free, and daily free choices and the food is pretty good. Always an interesting array of guests from church leaders to painters to writers.

We didn't take part in any of the activities at Ghost Ranch. It was 96 degrees, with a bright sun, and I am not supposed to be out in the sun anymore. I have become the ultimate nocturnal animal. However, the scenery was beautiful, more outstanding than the national parks I've been to; organic, no crowds, no lines. The rock formations and colors are startling, and I now have more understanding of Georgia O'keefe's passion for New Mexico. Perhaps I will be able to get on a horse one day, and enjoy this beautiful part of New Mexico from outside an automobile. Unfortunately, that may never happen again. C'est la vie ne rien melanin.

This place is definitely worth a visit if you are a nature lover, explorer,artist, art lover etc... but probably anyone would like ghost ranch who likes the outdoors. This was one of Georgia Okeefes ( famous American artist) homes. She painted many scenes from around the ghost ranch area and you can see the landscapes that inspired her art. There are many cabins and facilities in the property suitable for- group retreats, artist retreats, horseback riding, family gatherings, weddings, camping etc... there is also a list of events and retreats happening continually on the property. We brought our bikes and camped in the campground. Having bikes worked out great because we could move quickly around the expansive property. Walking would also be nice too, though. There are also two different museums on the property, a dinosaur museum and history museum. We went to both- and though they were both a bit small, they were packed with great exhibits, artifacts, historic images and all of the above. I really enjoyed both museums.

This place had me the moment they told me "City Slickers" was shot here. There are certain movies that are cannon to filmmakers, and when it comes to comedy, "City Slickers" is definitely among them. As a matter of fact that entire decade of Billy Crystal's filmography, which includes "The Princess Bride", "When Harry Met Sally", and concludes with "Analyze this" And "Monsters' Inc". So I walked into the ranch with an already gleeful expectation. The beauty of it all is that I wasn't at all disappointed. The moment you make the turn from hwy 84 into Ghost Ranch, the first thing you come across is the cabin they used as the set for the movie, and what a beautiful sight it is. It's still preserved exactly as it appeared in the film. The mountains in the back still look just as beautiful. They are also recognizable for more recent films among them "Hostiles" with Christian Bale (the section where he's taking the chief from NM into Colorado). In addition to the film aspect of the ranch, it serves as a wonderful and quiet retreat for those looking for a more spiritual connection with the world. Here, you can spend days or weeks hiking, riding horses, meditating, and observing the night sky which opens wonderfully at 7,800 feet above sea level. No wonder this is the place Georgia O'keeffe chose to spend most of her life painting. I can see how the colors inspired her. How the layers in her paintings could very much be the layers of each mountain. What I can't still see if how the mountains inspired her to paint flowers that look like vaginas, or vaginas that look like flowers, but that's beside the point. Lol! What should be highlighted is how wonderful this place is. How full of history it is. I was informed by one of the guides that it used to be called - El Rancho (or cajón - alluding to The Valley encased by mountains) de las brujas - the ranch of the witches - by superstitious native locals who wouldn't venture in ancient times into these lands because they thought they were haunted. He also told of how one of the owners won the 160 acres land grant in the 1800's over poker. How his wife put the deed in her name so he wouldn't gamble it away, and how she, after his death and while going through economic hardship decided to renamed it "Ghost Ranch" to appeal more to Northern tourist and not scared them away with the legends of the natives. Overall, this is a place that must be seen. A place that must be experienced. A tranquility that must be enjoyed. So if you ever find yourself in NM, don't forget to stop by. Like the guy said: "New Mexico is not the state of enchantment as its motto states. It's the state of entrapment, for once you step in it and admire its beauty, You'll be back again." I can certainly say, "Ghost Ranch" And Abiquiu for that matter has a lot to do with that!

Breathtaking views and serenity is this place's main attraction. We stayed here for a conference and really enjoyed it. There is plenty of hiking trails and the accommodations were good.we had a great time and can't wait to return.

Gorgeous. Otherworldly. Forgiving. It is easy to be here. I don't know how else to describe it. I hesitate to review because I want it all for myself, but I also want the place to stay open. This place is really special. I didn't get a ton of communication beforehand about what my visit would entail, and I do wish there had been a little more about what to expect before the week started. It all worked out fine, though, and I had nothing to worry about. There are tons of workshops and retreats, some more hippy dippy than others, and also unstructured alone time things to do. One of the hiking trails (I don't remember what it's called) is breathtakingly beautiful. Bring plenty of water and be aware of the altitude. If you camp you'll be doing a lot of waking as the main campground is quite far from the main conference area. I thought the map made it look closer together than it was. I had such a positive experience here. It is really, actually magical and I am grateful that I got to go.

One of the most impressive landscapes I've ever seen. Majestic, serene, hauntingly beautiful. If you are a Georgia Okeefe fan, you would enjoy a visit to the place where she lived for many years, and painted many of her famous pieces. She loved the rugged mountains nearby and painted several many times at different time of day to capture the varying effects of light on the subject. Pedernal mountain peak is the most famous one. My daughter and I enjoyed an overnight stay in the simple, but comfortable, coral motel room. Dormitory style communal bathrooms down the hall, not in your room. Dining hall, cafeteria style. Museums, gift store and several interesting things to see, all included in the fee for the over night stay. The most enjoyable and memorable experience was a trail ride on horse - back led by a tour guide in the surrounding area to see the landscape first hand. What a great way to see Okeefe country!

We booked ten months in advance. We confirmed two weeks before, had driven 2000 miles and we're three days out from our stay when they called to say they were canceling our reservation due to a conflict with a music festival they decided to host. We were floored when they simply said, "sorry, we made a mistake." That kind of mistake requires that you make good on your commitment to your guests. After much wrangling, they agreed to "gift" us a stay in a Santa Fe hotel, which was poor compensation considering we had traveled so far. They were very disorganized leading up to the stay, which is why we continued to confirm and they showed their true colors by the way they mismanaged this situation. I would never recommend visiting Ghost Ranch. Go to the Georgia O'Keeffe museum instead, you'll have a better experience.

We had the shortest visit as we decided mi afternoon to do the hour drive to Ghost Ranch. On the way, there is a Georgia O'KEEFFE welcome center that is brand new as of March 2018 staffed with nice informative people. We didn't have time to see the short seven minute video on the O'Keeffe homes as we were racing to at least see Ghost Ranch. Next time we will plan better and spend more time there.

unbelievably breathtaking place. I've been going here since I was a baby, and my mom and grandma have roots in ghost ranch. It's such a timeless place with gorgeous hiking and campy feels.

I spent a weekend here this summer. It is such a different world from when I lived here a number of years ago. So far from the noise and honking of automobiles, the hustle and bustle of daily life, the smog of a big city trying to clean up its air, and the neon night lights that drown out the starry night sky. Ghost Ranch is a place to take a deep breath and let the clatter & stress of everyday life drain out of your soul. Some things have changed at Ghost Ranch since I lived there many years ago; but the key ingredients of earth's recipe of peace can still be found under the sun of the day and the moon at night in this remarkable place. Everyone should spend some time in this little bit of northern New Mexico paradise in their lifetime. At least once.

I wasn't RAISED a COWBOY, but I'm about to PONY UP to this YELP REVIEW! LOL This SPUR (winky face) of the moment trip had NARY A NEIGH in sight! The Geo was Logical! The Cacti Phenomenal! The Sunset Atomical! Wait, Wait, WAIT!!! Sorry to interrupt, but I think we all could use a CONTENT WARNING. (OMG, What?!?) This place can get a little EERIE after all! I felt a GREEN CHILL (E!! (smiley face)) down my back when a voice whispered to me... Five Stars! Cannot wait to go Back!

We had an amazing tour with Karen who showed us several of the spots and landmarks where Georgia O'Keefe worked. She was a great guide and very friendly and knowledgeable!!!

I was vacationing in Santa Fe but wanted to do an afternoon outside the city and had heard about Ghost Ranch from a friend. There's a reason so many movies that feature archetypical Southwest landscapes are shot here. Breathtaking scenery best viewed from the Kitchen Mesa trail. While listed as the most difficult trail (there's a little bit of scrambling required) it is not too hard and totally worth it. Only downside was the first part was very slippery with mud from the recent snow that had melted. Amazing views from the Mesa. Just don't fall. There's no guard rail or anything and it drops 100s of feet. I also checked out the labyrinth and the museums, both worthwhile! Could have easily spent much more time here and done the other hikes, might go back sometime for them!

Yassssss! A must see if you want nothing more than to feel the epic "O'Keefe vibe"! Great scenery and history here. Loved it!

Wow - so much prettier than I expected. We really wanted to do some hiking while staying in Santa Fe and this place was awesome. We tried the chimney trail and had a great time. It is a pretty good hike and unbelievable views. The staff down at the camp is really friendly. There are also clean bathrooms and a snack store. The only thing we regret is that we didn't have more time to hike the other trails.

If you are a Georgia O'Keefe fan you have to visit Ghost Ranch where she did much of her work. The museum dedicated to her in Santa Fe is cool but this is better. Lots of outbuildings and an official tour is an option. Small gift shop with great tees! I felt this was worth the drive to see were Ms. O'Keefe found inspiration for her creations! There is no fee if you do the self tour.

Holy crap there is a ton of nature out here ;-) But if you are into that kind of this, this is a great place to hang out and enjoy it. The home of Georgia O'Keefe and the Ghost Ranch Conference Center, this is a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of the southwest desert. You just need to see the colors during the day and the stars at night to fall in love with this place. The center itself has housing as well as campsites for lodging plus a dining hall for meals. This is not an upscale fancy, schmancy place by any stretch of the imagination, but it is comfortable and downhome. There is wifi for those who need it, but it is sporadic depending on the weather. The food is decent and their attention to their environmental impact is commendable. If you happen to be driving through the area or need a place to take vacation or art class, this is a great option. BONUS: If you are old enough to remember the movie "City Slickers" the famous cabin is still there in front of which you too can do your best Billy Crsytal or Bruno Kirby immitation.

Recently did a ride with Ghost Ranch Stables, with a group of women who had met to celebrate a birthday. I must say, the place and the ride exceeded our expectations! We are all horsewomen, and could appreciate the quality of the horses and the excellent shape they were in. The views of iconic O'Keefe landscapes made the ride unforgettable. Couldn't have picked a better time of year (late October) as I imagine midsummer could be uncomfortably hot. And Daniel, our wrangler and guide, was both informative and entertaining, with stories of the history of the Ranch and the geology of the area. Highly recommended!

Visited Santa Fe for a few days and decided to venture out to Ghost Ranch for a day trip. We enjoyed a gorgeous horseback ride through fantastic scenery and learned so much about the history of the ranch and the life and work of Georgia O'Keefe from our knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend!

This place was pretty fun with the kids. We ate at the cafeteria (pretty good), which is served buffet style, and we climbed the little hill of the memorial to get a panoramic view of the surrounding lands that inspired Georgia O'Keeffe. We particularly enjoyed the Labyrinth (pictured), although with two elementary school children, the activity was perhaps less meditative than intended!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been, truly special. We did the horse back ride and our guide mark was so patient and understanding with all of us! He made the ride comfortable and was fun to be around. Clearly passionate about horses and the land. Spectacular scenery throughout - it was a dream come true for me! Total western fantasy realness. Highly recommended

An absolutely spectacular vista, which I can say was worth the four hour drive to see. I took the Georgia O'Keefe tour and, though never really familiar with her work, I gained a great appreciation for her paintings and vision. There are other options available, which you should look into in advance. I highly recommend this whether as an art interest, a photography interest, or simply a human interest.

Went there on a Sunday, a drive from Santa Fe and were informed the actual Ghost Ranch home was closed. Apparently, the home is only open like Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or something like that. Tourists - call ahead, you've been warned. We had driven about an hour to get there just to be told we were out of luck. Why not be open on the weekends??? Surely your tourists are trying to visit you on the weekends. I was pretty put out, frustrated, and very disappointed. Why doesnt the conference center have more clear communication that they are only open certain strange days of the work week? It wouldnt be such a bother if it was not so far from town.

I first moved to New Mexico entirely because I couldn't stay away from Ghost Ranch. Then, 5 years ago, I had to move away. Now that I have returned for a visit, I have completely rediscovered all of its enchantments. Yes, a few things have changed: First, there is now a small ($3) entry fee, which you pay when you visit the Visitor's Center. It appears to be even more crowded now, even in the already busy summer season. I suspect the other seasons will be much more quiet and relaxed, which is among the reasons to visit Ghost Ranch -- unless you're partaking in one of their summer education programs. There's still something about this place that helped me recharge my batteries and unclutter much of my life. There is something... magical... even when just sitting under a tree and taking in the views. It's a gorgeous and serene area, completely the opposite of city life and resort accommodations.

these people have no clue: Georgia is rolling in her grave for how this place is being run! I'm a professional artist and sculptor. O'Keefe has been a profound influence on my career spanning five continents and hundreds of corporate, municipal and private collectors; we called and booked four days at Ghost Ranch specifically stating we have our well behaved dog with us. We were assured that was acceptable. Upon check in we were told no overnight dogs so after a nine hour journey we had to leave and find a place in Taos, two hours away. What a disgrace and misrepresentation of policy at our significant cost and trouble. Hail Georgia O'Keefe and to hell with the people that run her lovely Ghost Ranch.

I found my home. Seriously. Wait for the photos. OMG. Seriously. This place is like manna. The light refracts differently here. The colors saturate into the lake, mesas, hills and structures. Everything takes on a hue. I became possessed with color. Georgia O'Keefe roamed this valley and painted these hills. I literally kissed the ground and welcomed the soil I grasped in my hands. You are in the right place if you see it's part Presbyterian here, but don't let that keep you away. The love of this valley is sure as much as I did fall in love it with it. Take highway 84, passed the Abiquiu Lake area going towards Highway 64 West. It looks pretty nondescript, but when you see an old log cabin overlooking the multicolored bluffs, you are on the right road.

Ghost Ranch and Trail Ride I can't say enough about how awesome this was! Besides the incredible scenery (which makes you never look at an O'Keefe painting the same way again), the Trail Ride is fantastic! Our wrangler was Daniel, who obviously loves his horses and his work and did a wonderful job of explaining the history of Ghost Ranch as well as making sure that all of us had a safe and fun ride. The horses are gentle and well-cared for, which meant a lot to me. Some of us were first-timers on a horse, and he made us all feel as if we were naturally born horse riders. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Our stop at Ghost Ranch and the hike up the Chimney Rock Trail was a highlight of our recent trip to NM. Stunningly gorgeous mountain views.....the colors glow and would, I expect, change with the time of day and season. The landscape is vast and quiet and full of soul. A place to leave the world behind for a bit. No wonder G. O'Keefe found inspiration here. I hope to return and stay at Ghost Ranch - there are several trails to hike, horseback riding, and a number of classes and workshops.

Super beautiful, with Red Rock like Southern Utah. Admission is $5 donation there are a few different hikes and walks you can do. The hardest one is I think 5 miles total with a steep climb but rewards you with wonderful views. There are also some historical buildings and a couple of different museums, one about dinosaur fossils, which they found here! The bearded guy at the front desk is super nice and knowledgeable.

GO AGAIN? Yes. This is a wonderful setting and conference center. We enjoyed walking around the gift shop, library, Ghost House, maze and children's play area. Now, we want to go to a conference.

This is about the horseback ride at Ghost Ranch, not the ranch itself, which is stunning and wonderful, etc. Why a sophisticated, high-quality outfit like Ghost Ranch would hire this idiot to run their trail ride concession is beyond me. Short of passing by the area where Georgia O'Keefe lived and worked, this dusty, tedious plodding along was a huge waste of time and money: coming in at just under $100 per person - that's right, $100 for maybe 90 minutes of riding droopy trail nags in a huge circle - listening to a borish, amateurish, blowhard "trailboss" go on and on about all the movies that were shot there. This dufus just would NOT shut up, which made the otherwise marginal ride, annoying at best. Take the tour around the ranch but skip the caballos.There's a reason why GR does not send out a follow-up survey! Shame on you, Ghost Ranch...

Ghost Ranch is all about the stunning desert scenery. We stayed at their RV camp and found the facility is wanting in basic maintenance and cleanliness. The camp is not really designed for the big RVs our little 20' trailer could fit is several places but there were only about 4 places were the big RVs could park. They provided an ice machine, showers, bathroom, washer/drier, community refrigerator, wash sinks, water, electricity and a dump station. I heard there is a pool a good distance away but we were not inclined to swim. I recommend this place solely based upon the stunning scenery not the quality of the facilities.

Georgia O'Keeffe trail ride at Ghost Ranch was AWESOME!! loved every minute of this 1 1/2 hour ride. Caroline and Daniel were very cool and informative about the trail and did a great job making sure even total beginners felt comfortable and confident every step of the way in dealing with the beautiful trail horses. Call in advance as they book up quickly.

I've been going to the ranch at least once a year since I was a little kid. Coming from a big city, it was the perfect place to run free and feel safe. As a young adult, I made the best friends of my entire life in the youth programming and have never felt so secure in being myself. As an adult, the adventures continue! I meet amazing people, go on beautiful hikes, and relax in a way that just can't be done anywhere else on earth. Accommodations are rustic- don't come expecting a resort! But the beds are comfortable, the showers warm, and the dirt stays outside if you kick your boots off outside at the end of the day. Food is yummy and plentiful. The summer week long programs are wonderful too! Experienced teachers from around the world lead classes for all levels. Or you can do rest and relaxation and go on hikes or to the lake all day long! Could not be more in love with this wonderful place I call my second home.

I don't know what it is about northern New Mexico, but it feels like home to me (and I'm a Midwestern girl). Ghost Ranch is yet another magical destination, an easy drive from Taos or even Santa Fe. This place is very peaceful, with prime hiking locations and educational facilities. You can stay the night to experience the wildlife and to "get away from it all." Hubby and I spent a wonderful day here, exploring and enjoying the outdoors. I'm not sure how I can improve on Rachel C.'s detailed review of Ghost Ranch - she spent more time here than I and knows more about its features. I only spent a day exploring the ranch (and loved every moment). I will be back, though. If you are in the area, you should see Ghost Ranch.

My fiance and I stopped in here during our visit to Santa Fe. The labrinth was really awesome. The ghost house was neat. Not much else. Beautiful surroundings. The girl at the fron ty desk was really sweet. This is more of a hiking area and I was not prepared to hike in my nice clothes and boots. Pretty neat adobe building's. Lots of meditation going on....yoga building etc....felt like we were back in Boulder Colorado. Got some great pics! We wanted something with more history....not here.
