"Georgetown Green Once upon a time, there was a run-down parking lot located under the Whitehurst Freeway leading into Washington, D.C. It wasn’t a place that anyone, even someone who needed to park a car, would think of coming. Thanks to the persistent efforts of the citizens of Georgetown, that rundown parking lot has been transformed into a much welcomed and needed piece of green space. Completed in 2011, Georgetown Waterfront Park is the newest multi-use urban park in D.C. One of the main features of the park is a path that runs along the natural curve of the river. It’s perfect for strolling and is extremely popular for joggers and bicyclists connecting with the Capital Crescent Trail. At one end of the park is a mixed-use complex called the Washington Harbour. There, you’ll find a few waterside restaurants where you can eat while enjoying views of the Kennedy Center, Roosevelt Island, the Key Bridge, and the skyline of Rosslyn, Virginia. It’s a perfect place for a bit of happy hour. If you have little ones with you, this is a great little spot for letting them run around. During the warmer months, the water fountain is turned on, and it's popular for kids who enjoy darting in between the waterspouts. During the winter months, the open space at Washington Harbour turns into an outdoor skating rink. The highway is still here, but what was once a scary place is now a spot I come to when I need a break from shopping in Georgetown!"

Beautiful views of Potomac River from the park paths, albeit not that many benches in the shade. Essential experience visiting Georgetown.

Beautiful river views, peaceful walking paths, lots of green space, and very pet-friendly. Perfect for a stroll, picnic, or just relaxing by the water. Always a great vibe!

Lots of benches in the shade, a good place to sit or meet someone. Some running and biking paths but mostly used by people passing through. A nice view of the river and Roosevelt Island. Plenty of places nearby to get takeout from and bring here to eat.

Nice, peaceful and wide space to enjoy water views, dine, sit on the grass and go Latin dancing outdoors for free (Saturday and Tuesday nights from mid spring to mid Fall). Beautiful sunsets with a view of Key Bridge, Roosevelt Island and Kennedy Center. There's also a kayak rental nearby. Also a good starting point to go biking on the Capital Crescent and C&O Canal trails. Has a fountain where kids can play and get wet. Can take the water taxi to other waterfronts in DC, Maryland and Virginia. The main issue I discovered is that there are no public drinking water fountains and toilets in this this park, so you have go into one of the establishments in the area to get those needs met. Also not Metro accessible and parking can be difficult, but that's all of Georgetown.

Georgetown Waterfront Park is stunning in the spring. The fresh greenery adds to an already beautiful setting. Whether you're walking, biking, or just relaxing on a bench by the river, the views of the Potomac River and Key Bridge are unbeatable. It’s a great spot for a peaceful stroll, a picnic, or simply people-watching with a coffee in hand. The park is well-maintained, easy to access, and offers just the right mix of nature and city energy.

I enjoyed the walk towards the Georgetown waterfront on a pleasant day. The dogs and people were out but it wasn't crowded. The boardwalk is the perfect place to sit near the river. There are many restaurants nearby to eat and enjoy the views or bring your own picnic. ❤️❤️Day or night the atmosphere of people and the fountain feature are great.

Georgetown Waterfront Park is a beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy nature in the heart of Washington, D.C. The park offers stunning views of the Potomac River, scenic walking and biking paths, and plenty of green space to sit and unwind. It’s perfect for a peaceful stroll, a picnic, or just watching the boats go by.

Google
This is a nice park along the Potomac River. There are different sculptures in restaurants where you can sit and watch the boats go by on the water.

Yelp
We passed by Georgetown Waterfront park when we were walking from Georgetown to Rosslyn. It had a beautiful view of VA and the river and I saw people jogging or spending time with their babies there. It was quiet and the place was clean.

Yelp
Within walking distance from the famous M street in Georgetown. A nice piece of greens space to relax after the congestion of M street and the surrounding area. Right on the Potomac River it gives quite a great view of DC and Theodore Roosevelt Island

Yelp
I have lived in the DMV long enough to remember when the park by Washington Harbour was mostly a parking lot. The area is beautiful. You can have a picnic by the water. You can take a walk (or bike) along the waterfront. There are several restaurants that have the harbor as a beautiful backdrop. You can see the Kennedy Center across the water. I have seen wedding parties take pictures. I have waved to people on boats. I have watched boaters grab to go orders and enjoy a meal. I have seen dog walkers strolling (and most taking their pets' gifts with them). There are free concerts. When it is chilly enough, there is an ice skating rink. Parking is tricky. The closest (Colonial Garage) garage doesn't update parking specials on their social media (i.e. Sunday all day parking listed as $12 is actually $15). Foggy Bottom Metro is a healthy walk nearby. There is a circulator bus by metro, if you don't want to walk. There are also water taxis from VA.

Yelp
Georgetown Waterfront Park has a nice view of the Potomac River. There are steps to sit on as you enjoy the local entertainment playing nearby. Weekends tend to be busier than weekdays. It's a great place to take photos of the Kennedy Center from across the river at night. What a view! Overall, it's a clean park that has stunning views and direct access to Georgetown's dining scene. Be sure to walk uphill and check it out. Also, right next to the park there's a plaza with dining and shops too. Tip: if you're waiting in a long line in Georgetown for a product, don't. There's probably another shop with the same or even better product. Enjoy!

Yelp
If you are in DC, spend the day in the Georgetown neighborhood and start at this location! It has beautiful views of the Potomac River & Arlington's downtown and a great place to walk, jog , or bike ride on a trail. It has restaurants, coffee and bars and they also have events like concerts on Thursday nights in October. During October they have Halloween decorations and were building the ice skating rink which opens in November. From here, you can walk up Thomas Jefferson St to the shopping district, Tudor place, the OC Canal bridge, etc.

Yelp
What a beauty! Definitely Georgetown like you've never seen it before. You literally just turn a corner and then BOOM! Views for days, do you hear me?! Days!!! This park has remarkable views of the Potomac River and the Arlington Skyline. I schlepped here from Downtown Georgetown and was so shocked to have the entire park to myself. Granted it was at night, but still. It was enchanting. Felt like I was almost up close and personal with those bridge views. Plus, everything always looks so much prettier when it glows at night. You know how that goes. There's a nice walking and biking path that hugs the perimeter of the park. Plenty of open grassy field space which is perfect for both kids and your furry four legged friends. If you want to relax and hang out, there are several rest benches, many of which overlook the Potomac River. It's really a gorgeous a little park, and it's just a short little jaunt from downtown. On the way there, I walked over the cutest little pedestrian bridges that were all lit up with bright lights. This is also a popular park for local events, but I don't think anything has been really happening here during COVID. You should note that there are no public restrooms on site. There are several local businesses that are within walking distance, so when push comes to shove, you'll just have to walk to downtown to find a restroom. The only reason why I'm not rating this park 5 stars is because I saw several rats while I was there. If you've never seen an East Coast rat, those MFer's are huge, scary, and aren't really afraid of anything. They were crawling in and out of the trash bins that appeared to have not been emptied in a while. I know it's a public park, but they should probably do a better job of keeping it clean. Especially when they're easily prone to rats. Aside from that, this little park was truly lovely. If you find yourself in Georgetown, make it a point to come and visit this little beauty.

Yelp
Lovely park with water views. Paddling and boat rental available as well as large picnic areas all around. Perfect for bike riding and scootering to get around.
google avatar

Yelp
There's street parking along the park Hard to find a spot but if you do it's super nice and easy to get the the park Perfect place for a picnic!

Yelp
An incredibly beautiful area to see the Potomac as well as strolling and people watching. We arrived quite early and all the waterfront restaurants were not open yet. There is a Starbucks nearby. However we were able to witness the rowers practicing this morning which was a plus! I would love to live here! The airplanes flying out of Ronald Reagan Airport can be seen and heard so that might need getting used to if I lived here! This is a 10 acre grassy park along the water. If one needs a sense of calmness and peace, come here! From the waterfront, it is easy to take one of the side streets up to M street where many of the shops and restaurants are located. We were fortunate to take a street which crosses the C & O canal!

Yelp
At this park you get a great view of the Potomac. It really is a very beautiful sight. The river is always bustling with boats in summer. It has a nice path by the river. There's many close restaurants and shops. Georgetown is a pretty historic area. In this part of the neighborhood, it's quieter. The foot traffic is mostly along M Street. Going this way is much more enjoyable. The view of the Potomac is the best part. Along the river is a path used by joggers. It extends a long ways upstream. It overall is a nice park. It's more of a place to pass through than to sit around in. This is still worth a visit.

Yelp
This is a nice, bustling park with a view of the river from Georgetown. During a hot summer Saturday, there were folks sunbathing, running, taking photos with their family, and enjoying the expansive fountain area. I loved the photo ops -- especially of the black-eyed susans -- and the views of DC. I imagine it's a gorgeous location for the sunset. It also has a great view of Key Bridge. This waterfront park is definitely a stunner for area residents and visitors alike.

Yelp
I've lived here for 50 years and don't recall ever coming to this particular park of Georgetown in my adult life... it's beautiful, especially on a gorgeous, sunny day! Lots of park are to lay out a blanket and have picnics! Plenty of great eateries to dine waterside! It's very dog friendly! Nice, long path to walk or ride along which eventually hooks up to the C&O tow path. Definitely something I'm looking forward to doing again, SOON!

Yelp
Not to be confused with the Carlincity Airback Garden, which is something quite different. There are few things more beautiful than Georgetown Waterfront. The amazing river and the Kennedy Center and the buildings across the water of Arlington Virginia and then of course Georgetown in South. It's nothing short of gorgeous. To me this park represents some of the best usage of the famous river that whines (and winds, but it also whines sometimes, like Trump) through DC. I love this place a lot. They're doing a lot of construction during coronavirus here of course. It's totally understandable. Definitely one of my favourite places, and it reminds me of when I was 16, which is when I first came here.

Yelp
An absolute must-visit in the DC area! My friend and I had spent an afternoon walking around the Georgetown neighborhood and coming to the park was such a nice way to relax and take in gorgeous sunset views along the Potomac River. We saw so many joggers, bikers, walkers, paddlers out on the water, families with their children and pets, and people-watchers. Everyone seemed to be there to enjoy the lovely scenery. There's plenty of seating along the river and so many great picnic spots as well! We were also able to enjoy an amazing local singer's performance. All in all, such a wonderful park with the loveliest vibes:)

Yelp
Aside from shopping and dining, this waterfront park is why we love going to Georgetown! When my nephew was a toddler, we'd drive to this park on summer weekends so he can play in the fountains. He would run around the fountain, chase other kids, get wet and just have a plain good old time! I'd stand there supervising, making sure he doesn't hurt himself. He's six now, and he and I hung out at the fountains while his parents were shopping on M Street. It was a pretty warm day and the fountain was populated with running and happy kids, trying to stay cool. Sometimes, you'd see teenagers, and even adults (lots of runners) join the kids. The fountains are definitely one of the most popular features of this park. You will find a labyrinth close to the fountain, waterfront restaurants and cafes, and great views of the Potomac, the Kennedy Center, the Francis Scott Key Bridge and the Theodore Roosevelt Island. You can also take a water taxi from here to the District Wharf. There isn't a public restroom in this park, so you'll have to go to Starbucks or patronize other businesses in the area in order to use their restrooms. I took my nephew to Starbucks when he needed to go. We bought some refreshments, so we can use their restroom. There is also a Hershey's Ice Cream store across K St. :)

Yelp
Georgetown Waterfront is a nice place to drop by if you're in the area. What I've done in the past is pick up a snack, coffee, or lunch and sit by the water for a break watching the yachts, crew teams, and party boats pass by. You can see the Kennedy Center and Rosslyn from there too. There's sparse seating in the area, and a fountain where water springs up that kids always run around at. You'll also see people walking their dogs. It's also a nice little detour to take out of town guests.

Yelp
Georgetown Waterfront Park is one of the best urban parks in DC. It's on the Potomac overlooking Rosslyn in Arlington, VA. There are plenty of walk ways and benches to enjoy the water and a sunny day. They also have informational signs throughout explaining the history and purpose of eco-friendly innovations found in the park. Just off the park is a bridge that reminds people of Seattle. Under the bridge, you can find a coffee shop, a theater, and a few restaurants. Pro-tip: Walk a few blocks to Baked and Wired for DC's best cupcakes.

Yelp
I was in Washington DC to attend a week-long convention at the Marriott Marquis by the National Mall. Because of this, I wasn't originally planning to visit Georgetown. It was too out of the way. Luckily, some friends that I met at convention wanted to visit the Apple store in Georgetown (ironically after my own Macbook had broken down then miraculously came back to life) so we took an Uber over there and turned it into a half-day adventure. After shopping at the Apple store, we all went our separate ways before meeting up again for lunch. I really wanted to see the Potomac River, so I dragged my new friend in that direction. When we reached the waterfront park after a short walk, I was in awe. There was so much beautiful nature and architecture to see along the waterfront, and I wanted to stay there for hours to absorb the serenity of it all. You could see people kayaking on the Potomac, ducks swimming in the water, and locals sitting on the benches and enjoying the view. I had spent three days prior to the convention touring the museums and monuments in National Mall and eating my way through the city. I had some great experiences at the convention as well. But honestly, the highlight of my entire trip was visiting Georgetown Waterfront Park. If you had only one day in DC, this is what I would recommend visiting. I'll be back here again someday!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to walk and relax. During the covid it is under construction and deserted. I didn't even see a boat. The boats are gone and the restaurants are closed expect for one or two who are doing takeout. You can't eat on the curbs or sidewalks. I'd honestly rather just cook at home. But the park is good for a run or bike ride.

Yelp
5 stars for a fantastic little park with a great view. My wife and I like to take our dog over to the Georgetown Waterfront Park, located off K Street by Washington Harbor, whenever it is warm and we have some time. This 4 block or so stretch of park is a great place to have a picnic or walk your dog around on one of the winding paths that are filled with tons of grassy areas. During our most recent visit, we walked our dog along the trails and then back via the path by the river that looks over at Arlington. We noticed lots of tables and fun little monument-type of areas to keep people entertained. Since this park connects to the Rock Creek Trail, we were able to continue our walk beyond the park and have a great rest of the afternoon. Overall, the Georgetown Waterfront Park is a great little park to check out when you are over in the Washington Harbor area. Be sure to walk around and see all the views next time you are in the area.

Yelp
Great place to eat, people watch, unwind, wind up, relax, party, drink, drink and drink. With Sequoia, Tony and Joes, Nicks, Orange Anchor, Fishers Farmers and Bakers and other smaller eateries and specialty shops near by, you can find yourself losing a lot of time hanging out there. But you won't regret the time you lose down there, infact, you might want to do it again and again in the summer. One thing I would like to do is ride my bike around the area. It's a great place to unwind and relax. Great place to spend a nice spring, summer, or fall day.

Yelp
Lovely stroll through this amusing park and waterfront. You can spot the Virginia border from the front line! Movie theatre and restaurants in close vicinity. Pleasant and admirable view.

Yelp
On one of the hottest days of the year, last Saturday, my buddy and I went to DC for a day. He's from southern MD and basically country, so I was desperate to expose him to the national of America~ This place was perfect! It's free! Perfect for dates, especially for yuppies. Even though the heat increased, the water helped kept us cool and chilly too. We wanted to go paddle boarding or kayaking but just sitting on the bench was the ideal spot. Watching bikers bike around, kids playing in the water fountain, the sun setting, and Potomac river just nailed it. There was no trash at all, besides trashcans, this was pretty clean area! He thought it to be very romantic and I to concur to that!

Yelp
Great park! Overlooking the Potomac River, there are plenty of restaurants, condos, hotels & apartments bordering this park. On the other side of the river, is Virginia. Great place to walk the furry babies, run, walk or just hang out on a bench or on the steps leading to the water. There's a sign that says don't feed the birds, but you'll find plenty of people feeding the pigeons & geese near the water. Not too far from the park are a bunch of shops in Georgetown & a AMC theater! Baked & Wired is super close if you want some yummy desserts or coffee & so is dog tag bakery - shop local & support this wonderful non profit!
google avatar

Christian L.

Yelp
Sparse and concrete waterfront. Few trees, no lush greenery and no benches. Nice views of Potomac. Surrounded by restaurants. Quiet scenery South of Georgetown away from packed sidewalks. Hit up the wood boat-pier close to the water. Rebel review: 5 star quietude
google avatar

Malini A.

Yelp
Excellent location, beautiful surroundings, and nice views. Plenty of food and bar options available. Good place to walk along the water or take a water taxi. Parking though is limited, sometimes takes a while to find one.

Yelp
The Georgetown Waterfront Park is one of my favorite places.  Aside from some delicious restaurants that initially brought me over here, it is just beautiful. You catch a great breeze from the water, and it is very well maintained.  I love running on the River Walk in the winter, but it is far too crowded in the summer to do this. Lots of great views from here!
google avatar

Mel N.

Yelp
Beautiful park in the heart of Gtown. Love bringing tourists here who never been to dc as they get a great view and you can take awesome pictures here as well. Take in the view grab a comfy blanket sit down and enjoy the scenery. Best to come around spring when the weather is not scorching humid or too cold. Bring your friends and family and have a good time... or sit down on your own and reflect here. Keep in mind parking can be a little tricky to find so be patient and once you get here take a breath and enjoy. This is one of the highlights of my city!
google avatar

Marissa J.

Yelp
Great time in the waterfront, great picnic area, excellent route to walk and enjoy warmer weather. The beautiful Potomac River is great to enjoy, plenty of restaurant to dine in.
google avatar

Yelp
The waterfront park is dear to me. I've had some awesome times here talking and reflecting about life in general with friends at night off-peak hours. Somehow sitting and overlooking a body of water such as the Potomac puts one at peace. However, I do not recommend the place during Spring or Summer since it can be unruly unless that's your thing of people watching!
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
I really wish I had more time in DC to check out this lovely park! Early Saturday morning find yogis and their dogs posing in the park, along with bikers strolling along and photographers capturing family portraits. The park offers kayaking and ice skating along with beautiful scenery and best of all the park itself is free!! (I believe ice skating and kayaking come at a small cost.) Would definitely recommend checking out the park earlier in the morning to beat the crowd.
google avatar

Armistead J.

Yelp
Is place was absolutely wonderful and if you in the area I would advise you check it out

Yelp
Beautiful. 1) Love walking around here. 2) Lots of events happening. 3) Overall, get place to unwind.

Yelp
Our family loves Georgetown Waterfront Park! It is a lovely spot to people watch - families, couples young and old, students studying, bikers, runners, etc, all love this 10 acre park. We like to get some take-away food and just sit here on a nice day, or watch the ducks swim in the water. But the biggest draw for us (because we have two littles) is the fountain! It is really wonderful for the kiddos and probably one of the more popular spray/fountain areas in the city. A few things that knock it to 4 stars instead of 5, and this is really related to the water fountain area: -There are no public bathrooms anywhere nearby! Not really great when you have a 3 year old in a wet bathing suit who REALLY NEEDS TO GO. (fellow parents, you understand how dire these situations can be!) -Virtually no shaded area...and we all know you need some shade in DC summers -I think the water in the fountains is highly, highly chlorinated or something. My youngest (1 year old) spends plenty of time at splash pads/fountains/pools, but has had two similar bad reactions to water in her life resulting in a rash (not serious, cleared up in about an hour but worth noting). One of those was a pool in MA, and the other time was here. So if your kiddo has super sensitive skin, take note.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Super duper lovely area with a view of the waterfront. It's a great place to chill and chat, and there are benches scattered throughout the area for sitting. Many people come do photography here as well, and it's really a great spot for sunset too! I would definitely highly recommend coming here if you're around in Georgetown!
google avatar

Angel H.

Yelp
I love this park! It overlooks the river and is absolutely gorgeous. There's also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Plenty of ducks and geese as well as people boating and kayaking. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was recommended to visit this location by a local limo driver who I ran into earlier in the week. It was winter and they have ice skating by the restaurants. It is very nice to walk around and in the winter it is not very busy. Coming from Florida I tend to seek out water were ever I am and this delivered on a peaceful place to walk by the Potomac.
google avatar

Nanny C.

Yelp
We went for the "splash pad", it's really meant for older kids. The little almost 2 year old I was with was terrified by it. The jet streams are just a little rough/high for little ones. It was nice to see the waterway with boats and we ate lunch just a 5-10 minute walk from it.
google avatar

Zainab A.

Yelp
One of the best park to hang out and to enjoy the beautiful view of Potomac and sunset for free. It's very neat and clean. You can bring your blanket & a picnic basket or you can use one of those benches there but they are limited. There are so many places close by to eat and to shop. AMC is also right there & waterfront bars are amazing to hang out with friends. Sunday parkings are free and Saturday after 10pm, there is no charge. Before that, it's $2 an hour on the street.

Yelp
Kidfriendlydc.com is spot on with summarizing the Georgetown Waterfront Park: "Georgetown Waterfront Park is like a Joni Mitchell song in reverse: They unpaved a parking lot and put up paradise." Georgetown Waterfront Park is a 10 acre linear park along a scenic curve of the Potomac River overlooking Roosevelt Island, the Arlington skyline, Memorial and Francis Scott Key Bridges, the Kennedy Performing Arts Center, Watergate, and acres of riverfront. In essence, the Georgetown Waterfront Park is a riverwalk between the Washington Harbor and Francis Scott Key Bridge. It is a riverwalk that is incorporated into the National Park system and serves as a vital connection to approximately 225 miles of parkland reaching to Mount Vernon, Virginia and Cumberland, Maryland. The Georgetown Waterfront is a riverside landscape where people can escape the hustle and bustle of the Washington DC streets to partake in relaxation and recreation. The Potomac River is a popular water playground for paddleboating. The pristine vista of Roosevelt Island gives the illusion that you are paddleboating when George Washington was President. The centerpiece, the interactive fountain area is where families gather. Children play in the interactive fountain area while adults enjoy the scenic Vistas from a comfortable bench. Outdoor recreationists utilize the river walk for jogging, running, and hiking. The Waterfront Park is wide with parallel trails, greenery, a sundry of benches, and consistent vistas of the Potomac River and the Georgetown waterfront. What it isn't is shady. The trees have years to grow into canopies providing shade. What is interesting is that this riverwalk used to be a series of blighted land uses along the river. This included parking lots. There had been a plan to build an Interstate in its place. The public said "no way" to this. What you have is a linear park that celebrates the river. Wisconsin Avenue is a gateway to the park. When we explored Georgetown Waterfront via Wisconsin Avenue, our first impression was the fountain with the Potomac River. We walked it east to the Harbor then west toward the bridge. This is a walking shoreline post card. My favorite moments were sitting on the bench clearing my thoughts while taking in the sights and sounds of the river. With this said, I'd like to add meditating to the list of activities to enjoy here. Suddenly the summer humidity turned to a rainstorm and we'd have to seek shelter in the Washington Harbor Starbuck's. The Washington Harbor complex is an attractive landmark along the Waterfront and a nice place for lunch. When the sun returned, we made our way toward the bridge. Then suddenly it was raining again and we ultimately departed the park to seek shelter on Water Street. In a way this was a good thing. The hiking bug was biting and have a feeling that I was going to lead my family on an extended hike. A cab from Cumberland, Maryland to Thomas Circle is very $. When you unpave a parking lot and put up paradise, the result is spectacular places. Georgetown Waterfront Park is a shining example.

Yelp
This is one of D.C.'s highlights and a top spot in Georgetown. Ideal place for waterfront walks, jogs, boating, relaxing, waterfront dining, picnics, snacking, and romance. The walkable pathway is scenic and calming with many places to sit and take a break. The pathway is short, but it takes you along the Potomac River. Perfect for photos. Along the docks you'll see many boats cruises, I've personally been on the boomerang pirate ship cruise & it was nice. I recommend taking any cruise, just make sure you book online in advance for better pricing (Living Social, Groupon, Certifikid). There are a variety of dining options, some right alongside the waterfront which gives you a beautiful view of the Potomac. The view will cost you a pretty penny $$$. The only downsides are the parking situation and the absence of proper shade in intense heat or rain. There are parking garages nearby but it gets expensive if it's not the weekend (weekday more than $11 weekend $10 all day), and street parking is limited. Book in advance or come early. Overall a fantastic spot that can't be skipped!

Yelp
Best little park with nice grassy area to lay in and beautiful views of the Potomac as well as plenty of food options nearby on the food carts and nearby restaurants. in April they have beautiful cherry trees where you can see the sakura blossoms against the backdrop of the potomac. my husband and i come here occasionally to enjoy the view and lovely Washington weather. sometimes i walk the labyrinth to meditate. sometimes we sit and draw in the grass, or sit at the tables (one time we sat here enjoying DC cupcakes with a friend) and have a picnic with a view, or explore the latest art installations in the park. One time, we stumbled upon a bachata class in the park and had an impromptu dance lesson. this park is our favorite place to relax, stroll along the waterway, take out of town friends, or have a simple date.

Yelp
A definite hit with the regulars and tourists. Located along the Potomac waterfront this park stretches between the Washington Harbour complex to Key Bridge joining 225 miles of public parkland along the Potomac River, stretching from Mount Vernon, Virginia to Cumberland, Maryland. There is ample seating available here and is a good place to relax. There is also a small fountain plaza, where kids like to get drenched in the summers. They also have a separate bike trail linking the Capital Crescent Trail with the Rock Creek Trail. I look forward to coming here again when I come back to DC!

Yelp
I was roaming around Georgetown on my lunch break and came across this park. It is a nice park to eat your lunch at and just chill out from the world. I would recommend it for people watching and be sure to check out the water fountain display.

Yelp
Came here a few times in the past and it was Beautiful, but nowadays so many people playing Pokemon Go.. It just ruins it for me. The scenery is fantastic. It is cool around the body of water during summer due to convection. There is a labyrinth meditating circle that is interesting. It takes you around a path in a circle where it uses pretty much every bit of the circle as a stepping path. The point is to meditate while you walk and by the time you exit it, you cleared your mind and are ready to move on. I visited recently and there was so much trash everywhere and it smelled like sewage. Overall, this is a great place for a walk alone or with friends or on a date. There is metered parking in Georgetown. Most of it you have to parallel park on streets. It is nice that the streets are one way, but sometimes, the narrow roads in Georgetown makes me uncomfortable. Lots of restaurants and stores to visit when you go to Georgetown. Sigh... Pokemon Go needs to stop.

Yelp
I like to go there during day time because I saw many strange things at night. Also I smelled something not good. It had a great view even at night time tho.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous park. Somehow we sat here and looked at the Potomac for several hours - something about it really is relaxing. There's lots of seating and puppies and kayaking. I docked one star because it does get load and unruly at times, but I guess that's a plus if you're into people watching.

Yelp
You definitely cannot go wrong here! From the water views, to the various dockside happy hours (with live music in the summers and ice skating rink in the winter), to river boat sightseeing tours and the brand new fountain/bench area, I absolutely love this place. The tourists haven't exactly overrun it yet, but who knows how much longer it can be kept (a relative) secret! I love to go for a run here, have had quite a few picnics, and just strolled by to get to Georgetown without having to walk along M St. If you are ever in the area with some time to spare, grab a drink on the water, or a coffee for a stroll. Trust me, you'll love it!

Yelp
We've all mocked people who leave negative reviews for parks/monuments/other free locations that aren't even businesses... but today I'm going to be that person. I didn't like this park. There was virtually no place to sit in the shade - all the benches I saw were in direct sunlight - and you can't go down to the water (assuming you'd want to; it looked pretty grimy.) It has a nice view of Arlington across the bridge, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend that anyone put this park on their must-see list.
