Frituur n°1

Incidentally, this is supposed to be the first fries place in Antwerp (hence the No. 1). The fries were decent. You can also get them with spice/ paprika on top, which is a nice touch. They also sell bitterballen, curryworst and some other meat snacks. There is seating available on either side of the shop (and a lavatory).

I really don’t love Belgian fries, they’re too soggy for me. Just taste like old soggy fries. I did like the meatball though, the onion and meat together taste good.

Liked the selection of sauces! They give a huge serving. Got the Fries with the samurai and their looksaus which is garlic. You order at the counter and they have seating inside.

Deserves all the hype. I just wished they didn’t have to deal with drunk straight men, but I guess that’s the customer at night. They are very sweet behind the counter. Highly recommend

Fries were OK, maybe it’s just that I was not used to this style. I don’t think they had enough salt, and there were some that were sort of mushy. The guy seemed inpatient, but the service was relatively fast.

The small size should be enough for 1 person. The plain fries are delicious with a bit of salty taste.

Was told this place has the best fritter by my Belgian friend who studied 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I had better fritters in Antwerp as the fries are too salty and the sauces are heavy. Also tried the sausage and meatball, which are pretty average too.

Such a nice friet no1 taste sensation!
