Amazing locally owned spot for coffee, treats, and lunch! The coffee always tastes fresh and the breakfast bagels are the stuff of local legends. Lunch times can be busy, lines are pretty common but usually there’s still seating. A dog bowl is outside for our furry friends but be mindful the cafe is *not* animal friendly. I love bringing out of towners here, never disappoints! The instant coffee is perfect for overnight hikes as well :)

Why in the world would a company with such incredible instant coffee NOT put a 0.0000001 cent sticker on the box? To save $20 a year? I found this coffee at Whole Foods, just ordered a case direct from Fernwood but didn't want to wait for the shipping so just got back from Whole Foods with 2 boxes of their instant coffee. One of them is EMPTY! I'm out $15 because you wanted to say 0.0000001 cent on a box of instant coffee. Where else are you cutting corners? EDIT: Company customer service has been 10/10 with extremely courteous and prompt response time and going above and beyond. With that said, a tiny tamper sticker would actually make a huge difference, as it would at least prevent taking from one to add to another to make it look like not stealing. Or at least I wouldn't bother opening them to check if all 4 are there, or if the seal was broken I wouldn't buy it. INCREDIBLE COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for making things right! EDIT AGAIN: THE COFFEE NEVER SHOWED UP!!! Thanks for nothing!!

Such a cute little spot to sit in or outside. It can be very busy with some lines especially weekends/early mornings. The food and bakery treats are delicious.

Delicious bagels, and nice atmosphere. It was pretty busy around lunch on a Saturday but there was still seating available.

We popped in for some coffee and treats. Although there was some waiting in queue, it moved quickly. I liked the atmosphere given through their contemporary design. The gracious host was friendly and offered some great recommendations. We got the dill scone and the butter croissant. The dill scone was particularly tasty and interesting. Be sure to give one a try! The London fog and the flat white were amazing. Additionally, they have some outdoor seating which was lovely! I strongly recommend this coffee shop.

This place is the best! The staff here are awesome and friendly and are always working hard and always make me feel welcome when I go there. Whenever there is a problem with my drink or food, "which is almost never," they will offer me something else in exchange or sometimes my money back. You need to try this place but come early if you want to try their muffins, especially the Blueberry or there food as they only make a small amount but you usually can always get one of their delicious "Bagel Sandwiches", these are made with Mountain Bagel 🥯 Company Bagels and this place sells alot of them because there good. 😋

So like.... I used to love this place, it was my go to. We ordered sandwiches today off their app because we were in a hurry. The order was 10 minutes late, so we could have gone somewhere else. It was 36 bucks for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees. My partner is vegetarian and they put bacon on hers and forgot the tomatoes. Her drink was a 12 oz not the 16 she had ordered. The server said she was 'So busy and stressed' but there were only 3 customers in the place. Furthermore, she made my partner feel like her complaints weren't valid and that she was bothering to ask for a correction to the order. I still have a shred of loyalty to this place because it's a local business but gosh golly gee.

As a former barista, I'm picky about coffee. Wow, is this place terrific!!! The coffee was excellent and the small amount of froth on my oat milk latte was perfectly textured. (I am always disappointed by the disastrous cappuccinos most coffee houses make, but left here regretting that I didn't get one.) The folks behind the counter were charming and helpful. And the early morning neighborhood appeared to be nothing but small businesses covered in bohemian murals. All in all, it was very possibly my favorite coffee experience ever!

Decided to grab a coffee from Fernwood Coffee Company. There is a cafe, Parsonage Cafe, attached. The place was busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Plenty of seating inside and out. Tried a flat white ($4.25) with oat milk ($0.50). Creamy and smooth.

My first coffee experience in Victoria on our visit here, I had to do some searching to find a spot that looked like espresso drinks were well taken care of. This spot is a bit outside of the downtown area, we walked from Chinatown for about 20 minutes. It's a shared space with a cafe that makes some quick bite type food, which you can order at the same counter as the coffee place and it will be made at a different window in the space. The space itself is nice, very communal feeling with some cubbies of bench seating that are kinda open, along with some booths and a few tables in the middle. A few tables outside under an awning as well. We opted to sit outside as the inside was full and despite the rain it was relatively pleasant out there. You sit on little wood boxes and have some pretty standard small metal tables. Our table was a bit shaky though. Unfortunately on the Saturday early afternoon we were there, they had already sold out of their sticky buns, which I was excited to try. I settled on just getting a cappuccino to drink there, as they had some nice ceramics that were appropriately sized - one for lattes and another for cappuccinos. The cappuccino was very well made, with perfect microfoam, perfect milk temperature, a nice pour design, and a well extracted espresso shot. I'd say the espresso was bordering on the acidic side, maybe ever so slightly under-extracted, but definitely not sour, just bright and a little sharp. Would definitely recommend the espresso drinks here, worthy of the detour from the rest of downtown if you care a little more about what's in the cup.

Stopped in before flying out of Victoria. Cute spot, great food, solid dirty chai! Happened across it and will definitely return.

Fernwood Coffee Company is great stop for coffee, baked goods, brunch/lunch. I enjoyed the atmosphere with their modern aesthetics. The friendly host welcomed us and gave us some excellent suggestions. Great vibes. All hosts provided outstanding service. We got the croissant and the dill scone. The dill scone was interestingly delicious. Make sure you try one! It's very tasty. The flat white and the London fog went together perfectly. We will come back! Highly recommend this coffee shop!

Seems to be a popular spot for locals and tourists. We ordered a breakfast bagel, samosa, and 2 lattes. I will say, skipping the samosa would be a good idea. However, the bagel was tasty. The coffee is what deserves all of the praises. Excellent roast and ratio of coffee to milk. The customer service also deserves recognition, as the workers were extremely friendly. Highly recommend for anyone visiting. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Street parking available.

Very good coffee. However, the decor and vibe of the place is not very welcoming. However if in the area I would stop in.

Good spot, I'd say I'm somewhat of a coffee snob, their cappuccino was very nice! The only odd thing was that I ordered a ham and cheese croissant at breakfast (8am) and expected a breakfast croissant, what I got was a lunch croissant cut like a sandwich with mustard. I will say that it was delicious, but I was expecting the ham and cheese to be baked in like most breakfast croissants. Worth your time and money.

New cozy vegan coffee shop in town. Got two macaroons but finished them before taking a photo. Super cozy inside and on the little patio area with a nice view of the mural across the street. I got there late but still had a chance to try a few baked goods. I am sure there is more in the morning though :) Will be back again!

Wow, wow, wow! I stopped here to meet a dear friend for a quick cup of coffee, and we ended to staying and chatting for quite awhile. The coffee is phenomenal. They roast their own coffee and you can tell. There are plenty of food options, from baked goods to freshly prepared. We only had baked goods but they were all delicious, and the food items we saw delivered to other tables looked amazing. I'm not sure if it's always super busy, but we were there on a Sunday morning and the line didn't die down the entire time we were there. A bonus for me was the buckets of cars they had for kids to play with - my kids were happy campers!

Very authentic and neighborhoody. The atmosphere is very cozy and reflects the City's historical roots. The coffee was bold and flavorful. The oatmeal cranberry cookies are AMAZING, treat yourself and complement the baker. This is worth a 25 minute walk from downtown (if you're a tourist, venture into this neighborhood)

Wonderful place! Great coffee and muffins! VERY environmentally friendly! Wandered in here and got live music with my lunch! What a beautiful place! I'll definitely be here again!!!!

Great hipster coffee and homemade baking. What else do you need in the morning... The blueberry muffins are delicious.

Made a nearly perfect cappuccino, which is all I can ask for in a coffeehouse. This place is right next door to Cold Comfort, which is an amazing ice cream shop. I had a chili chocolate ice cream sandwich in one hand and coffee in the other, and it was heavenly.

My husband and I are coffee snobs. Husband alone has had over 100 of the nation's best craft coffee shops. Litmus test is the ristretto and cappuccino. It was delicious. Ristretto was not as complex as I would have liked but the milk in the cappuccino was pulled perfectly. Velvety and smooth. I would come again.

This is coffee that tastes great and comes in a good-looking can. I was a little surprised by the slight carbonation, but it was very refreshing! It hits the spot and provides the caffeine punch one needs.

Been to lots of little joints in Victoria and just cannot find anything better. Best coffee, roasted and brewed in house. Great food prepped by very competent friendly staff. I am a regular for sure now -- well worth the drive from Duncan

Love love love this place! A bit small so be aware of trying to find a place to sit. Everyone there is nice and they make yummy bagel sandwiches!

Stopped in for coffee and found they do so much more. Highly recommend their food selections. FANTASTIC sandwiches that can be made gluten free if you can't handle their beautiful croissants and French bread. I'm gf and was impressed with the gf bread option- very tasty. I had the Ruben with a good spread of Dijon and sauerkraut. My boyfriend who isn't gf got the cheddar and leek scone with an egg baked in the middle, topped with bacon. High praise and kudos for a delicious stop. Thanks

Their bagels are so good!!! I don't personally drink coffee but I've heard their coffee is really good too.

Rude staff. Didn't tell me they don't make the conversion for American currency till I was waiting for my change, which she wouldnt give me. total was 10.35 Canadian gave the rude cashier 11 dollars american, so I over paid almost 3 dollars for the worst coffee I have ever had the misfortune of drinking, went to tim hortons total cost was the same and got 3 dollars Canadian back. Don't waste your money.

Excellent coffee and good food. It's a neighborhood hub, and makes you feel like you live in a tiny town with all the running into neighborhood folks that happens! Always insanely busy, but great service and nice seating outside too. Thumbs up.

I had a great egg breakfast sandwich on a bagel here two mornings in a row -- delish! They also have amazing looking muffins and scones and cookies, but sadly didn't get a chance to try them. The staff was friendly and the place was cozy and cute. For something different, try their cold brew, which is carbonated.

food is good but the ergonomics of the place is not. super tiny and not well organized during the school year of the nearby Vic High. Would give my 5th star if the prices weren't as high

Bought it at Fairway, Nanaimo, Sept 29, 15 West Coast Trail Blend Knew I had a prob as soon as opened. Beans looked dried out, pale brown, no oil, no aroma. Looked for date stamp- none? Brewed weak and insipid- strongly reminds of Tim's! Could kick my ass for not buying my usual Kicking Horse to save $2 Would return it but lost receipt Will try blending with KH to salvage

It's so sad to know they are closed. I really can not understand it! I used to buy my daily coffee there and it seem their business is quite good. Miss you already, my neighborhood coffee shop!

I love their coffee. They have a great range of beans and seem to be doing all the right things: fair trade, green policies etc. I like the West Coast Blend but occasionally trade up to one of the specialty roasts the staff recommend. This place has everything I want in a roaster.
