I've been curious about this restuarant for a while and finally found the opportunity to drop by for weekend brunch. Reservations are recommended as they can be quite busy during this time. My partner and I ordered the Strawberry Pancakes, and Smoke Brisket. The brisket was a bit dry and too salty for me, but their home-made corn bread was the best I've ever had. The gin cocktail was also deliciously refreshing. The atmosphere of the rustic decor give the restaurant a cozy feel, and the staff were friendly. They also have a covered patio for those who like to dine outdoors.

The pasta special may have been the best pasta I’ve ever eaten. I loved the consistency of the noodles and the flavors. My wife’s’ Crispy Skin Salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. We’ll be back!!! The music was a tad loud (we’re old people 🤣) but not outrageous.

This is one of my faves for a Sunday brunch. A M A Z I N G food and delicious coffees combined with a rustic (cozy) atmosphere. You have to try the Bacon Benny and also the Scotch eggs. It closed for a while and now it reopened - I couldn’t be more happy.

Super happy to see Farmhouse is back! We ordered various cocktails, pickles and cheese as our starter, and steak and the pork belly for our mains. The atmosphere here is wonderful, especially in the patio. The staff are exceptional and provide the best environment. This is our go-to place for special occasions, and is a gem in the Junction. Everyone in the neighborhood must try at least one! Looking forward to coming back.

Instagram: Foodmiipls Came here for dinner for friends birthday. Very small but very cozy and nice atmosphere. Love the aesthetics! The service was AMAZING! Very kind and lovely people! Even had a lovely chat with the owners! The food tastes great! No complaints. We ordered the 24oz steak (medium rare) to share and it was cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was seasoned very well! Shoutout to the Chef! Our order: Big Ticket MP ( 24oz Steak with Side of fries) Extra sides added - Potatoes & Green Salad The fries were really good that we ordered another plate! Dessert - Apple Crumble (so good! Recommend!) Overall we enjoyed and had a great time! If you're ever in the junction! Definitely check it out!

This country style rustic looking restaurant truly resonates its name. A very laid back atmosphere and attentive staff add to the charm of the space. Savoury brunch dishes are served in appropriate portion. The Veggie Eggs Benny tasted scrumptious; the tasty biscuit topped with flavourful tomatoe chutney and perfect poached eggs. Simply outstanding!

There are so many reasons as to why I love this restaurant!!! It has quite the rustic feel to it which gives off a comfy, cozy, and happy feeling each time. The staff is pleasant, the food is tasty, and the service is timely. I truly appreciate their Farm-to-Table concept. You can really taste the quality in their food. Their brunch menu can be a touch small but that’s really a minor concern based on how great the overall experience always is. If the duck is available at the time of your visit, I HIGHLY recommend it. Best duck I’ve consumed!!! Lastly, I have severe egg allergies. For a kitchen that cooks a lot of egg products, they sure keep me safe each time and really take the steps to make sure I’m healthy. You must eat here at least once :)

Cute local restaurant, small unique menu, and cute decor and atmosphere. The food was quite fresh and tasty and I like restaurants with smaller menus. The only little issue for me was the portions were quite small, so don’t come too hungry! We had the cured trout salad with miso dressing which was quite yummy, but the trout was a little bit fishy for my liking. We had the mushroom Agnolotti, and it was very tasty, it also had sweet potato on the bottom and that was very yummy. But again, the portion was a bit small. We finished our dinner with the maple tart with fresh whip cream on top, and that dessert was definitely very delicious. It wasn’t too sweet, which is perfect. And the fresh cream on top was very very yummy. I had the sparkling rose say and I quite enjoyed that. Would recommend this place. The service was also nice.

Yelp
Was in the area and found this nice farm to table restaurant! Lucky but also sad when we found out we visited them on their last weekend of service. Had their Salmon Benny and Beef Brisket Benny. The brisket benny was served on top of corn bread which paired great. We ordered two lattes and they offer milk alternatives. Service was very friendly!

Yelp
I went for brunch recently with a couple of friends and it was my first time trying this place. Parking is a bit difficult but I finally found a spot not too far away after driving around for quite a while. I suggest leaving extra time if you're driving, or take transit if you can. The dining area when you walk in is well-spaced so you don't feel squished or have the dreaded feeling of the next table inches away from you. The menu is online (they give you a QR code to scan at the table) and for brunch I found it to have some really great choices. I'm an eggs benny lover, and it's usually my go-to if I find it on a menu. Farmhouse Tavern has 3 options for theirs; I selected the Trout and Spinach Benny and it was phenomenal! Eggs perfectly poached, trout was tender and the cheddar biscuits were a welcome change from the standard English muffin. Each component was well-seasoned, and those fries? SO good! Crispy, hot and just wow! I was really hoping they'd have their scotch eggs available as I saw photos of them in another review, but they were not on the menu. I hope they bring them back as a si Service was spot-on - not intrusive to our conversation but attentive enough where we didn't have to flag someone down for anything. It's worth noting that the coffee is also quite good. I definitely can't wait to go back and try something else.

Yelp
The Farmhouse Tavern came highly recommended by our Airbnb host and our local friends about some great places eat near the junction. When we called, they sounded maybe a little less than accommodating, but I will tell you when we got there they did everything they could to make our visit pleasant. They helped us find a spot for a big double wide stroller. They set us up in the back room so our kids had more space and we had room. So friendly! For the adults we dove into the breakfast burger, the BLT, and some pancakes for the girls. The food has bit of a fowl spin to it. Your burger comes with a duck egg, and the fries are duck fat. The breakfast burger was definitely worth getting after. The egg is a nice add little bit of bacon in there as well. My wife opted for the BLT, really thick cut bacon on it. She's not as big of a fan of that but I thought it was cooked perfect. Pancakes were huge even for the kids size portion that we got. Maple old fashion was a nice tasty way to kick off the morning. Highly recommend food was fresh and you can watch it being cooked and servers were amazingly accommodating.

Yelp
We made a reservation for three for brunch, which was easy to make. When we arrived, the place was bustling. Not all menu items were on their blackboard, and they had some specials. We ordered eggs benny, eggs in a nest, and the barn burger. We were full afterwards; my only issue was that it was too salty for me. There were vegetarian and gluten-free menu items. We appreciated the ethos behind Farmhouse Tavern, where the ingredients come from local farms, and they strive to reduce their carbon footprint. Alcohol also comes from local breweries and wineries. We enjoyed our experience--a great local spot to meet up with friends.

Yelp
We came here for a friend's birthday. We were promptly seated, and we knew what to order from past experiences. We got the full duck which was really cool, and more than enough for our large party. If they have it, order it if you come with a large group of people. A favourite was the Ploughman's Platter, and I absolutely loved the cheese selection. I forgot what it was called but I couldn't get enough of it. We also got a few orders of fries to share and it was good. There's a decent beer selection if you enjoy it. It was quite dark so it was extremely difficult to capture all the food. I like coming here once in a while in the summer to sit at the patio.

Yelp
Probably one of my favourite restaurants now. Their ingredients are really fresh and changing according to the seasons. They have interesting promotion about "fuck Mondays" So they would normally have discount start from 4pm all the way to 9pm or 10pm I believe. But only on Sundays. I really enjoyed their salad and the appetizer-Ploughmans so yummy and so much flavours and variety of food! The appetizer discount hour is 6-7pm and make sure you can make an appointment during that time so get a great deal! 7-8pm is beer time! But they don't have too much drafts beer and I'm not a huge fan of beer anyways (I like their cocktails more) Main discount is from 8-9pm, I really like steak I tried before. But I think they've changed the menu again this time! Go try your luck! This restaurant is amazing! Great for summer and soo covid-friendly You will have a great time there for sure!

Yelp
Lovely local spot for delicious brunch or lunch! My daughter and I enjoyed our Bloody Caesar and mimosa. She had the combo eggs Benedict with fresh cut fries. I had eggs sourdough toast and bacon. Yummy all. Great coffee too. Friendly staff, very cute place. We will be back!

Yelp
Came here for brunch after heading downtown for Good Friday service and I was glad they were open! We ended up sitting at the counter as it was a last min reso on opentable, otherwise the place was pretty packed! It's a cosy little place and I really liked the ambience and decoration! The counter seats allow us to look at the kitchen watching the staff make their dishes, which I appreciate. We looked at the blunch menu and decided to order eggs in a nest and surf and turf Benny , along with a side order of pancakes. Everything was very delicious! Eggs were cooked perfectly and the flavours were really bold but blended well together. The pancake with maple syrup was so fluffy. Def would come back sometime for another bite... hopefully dinn

Yelp
I really enjoyed this spot and I appreciate how they really live up to the name of "farmhouse". I got the pancakes, it has blueberries instead of strawberries (which is fine) and I enjoyed it. It was light, fluffy and not overly sweet. I appreciate how sweet the staff is as well. I'm deathly afraid of wasps and being stung, our table kept getting bothered by a few and they saw that I'd jump every time one for too close and they brought a lantern meant to keep them away.

Yelp
Third times the charm? This is our third dining at the Farmhouse and I was hopeful this was the time I'd leave with a better experience. First off, our server was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive without hovering. The decor is super casual and comfortable, which was very inviting. I had the burger - which was delicious. My wife had the veggie option and she was underwhelmed. She read the menu and was looking forward to the meal - it was beautifully presented but the flavour of the salad dressing dominated everything and it wasn't a good flavour. The previous 2 visits to farmhouse; there was something that was also just a bit off. So many decent options around, why bother with an ok meal. In my opinion, Farmhouse is not a bad option, just not a great option.

Yelp
This place is in downtown Toronto and my friends just love it and go there often So went with my them to their choice of place We were sitting outdoors in summers and on the wall was a great kitchen garden They had grown basil, thyme and other herbs there Very exciting Now we ordered our brunch The service and the server were very good Ordered barnburger which had a beef patty with cheese lettuce and eggs except for the fact that I don't like runny eggs (they don't ask how well done I like my eggs) it was excellent The burger was soooo so juicy and awesome loved it the fries with it were good and crispy too My friends ordered Shakshuka and Tavern brekkie which tasted great too Had some Ceaser ( Bloody Mary) with our brunch it was super awesome!! A great brunch with Ceaser Loved it

Yelp
Good food... horrible service I came here on a Sunday for brunch and there was no wait. They asked if we wanted to sit inside but all they had was bar sitting. So we asked to sit outside. They told us we can sit anywhere but scold at us when we choose a table for 4... um shouldn't have said anywhere. So once we got all our stuff and moved they got our drinks. I got hot coffee. The person I came with asked for ice coffee but they only had hot coffee. The coffee tasted watered down so we knew we had to go somewhere else after for coffee instead. The waitress didn't really ask if it was our first time or explained the menu. She just told us where the menus were. They had two menus that were large hanging chalkboards which I thought was kinda cool. There were 7 different options on their menu. I went with their Benny w/ Kale ($13). The person I came with choose their Mother & Child Reunion ($16). My two benedicts included delicious biscuits topped with some kale, smoked ham, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. It was served with a salad. I thought the entire dish was pretty good. As for the Mother & Child Reuion, it included a duck leg topped with some cranberry served on a piece of bread served with a fried duck egg and some purple coleslaw. It was served on a wooden board. It was also pretty good. The meat was flavored and cooked perfectly. As for service, our waitress failed to come by to ask us if everything was okay or if we needed anything. We never got refills on our waters or asked for more coffee. We called her to ask for pepper but she brought back an empty pepper mill. The restaurant is small. There is a small outdoor patio. Seating is a little tight. The guy behind me was literally back to back with me. On the day we came it was extremely windy. Although the food was good, the lack of service left a bad taste in our mouths. Not sure if I would come back.

Yelp
No air conditioning. Wait for food was 30 minutes which is unacceptable when you have five menu items, none of which are complicated. Eggs were 86ed at 1 pm. Server was friendly but didn't refill our empty waters during the thirty minute wait, which sucks when you are 9 months pregnant and there is no A/C. No one working there looked happy, I could see them gossiping behind the bar about customers, pointing and whispering. Male server/host was not welcoming and seemed to hate his job and customers. Burger way overpriced, I asked for no bun so would have been nice to have offered an alternative to fries. Wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 14 people on OpenTable. We had to change the reservation several times because of people bailing out, and then confirming again. I was able to text the restaurant and change the reservation so easily. They had everything set up for us when we got there, and even allowed us to come 20 mins early. I wanted to try this place due to the fresh local ingredients. The food was fantastic. I had the pork belly pasta, and my boyfriend had the burger and fries. I tried some of the burger, fries with homemade mayo and ketchup. Everything was so tasty. Their menu changes all of the time, so it was written on a chalkboard. It was small, so if you have some picky eaters in the group it may not be the best place to go with. That being said, I was with some picky eaters, and they were all able to find something on the menu to eat (i.e. the burger). The service was a bit slow, however, we did have a large group. Some of the smaller parties that came in after our group had their orders taken first, and recieved their food before us, but I would have thought you'd want to get the bigger group out of there quickly. I didn't mind it that much, however, b/c we were chatting and catching up. I am just voicing the opinion of some people in my group. Although some people said it was slow, it was very friendly. We had a couple of young children with us. The staff were accomodating, having a high-chair set up for us, and modified a couple of the menu items for us. I had the pasta and a glass of wine (they have a large selection of reds, whites and craft beers written on the chalk boards), and with tax and tip it was just under $50. My boyfriend said that he was chatting with someone who worked there, and they actually lower the prices of the food as the night goes on so that there's no waste. I loved that!

Yelp
We shared two brunch items on their beautiful and well shaded patio. We went around 12 and it was the perfect temp in the shade. We got the mother and child which was duck confit and a deep fried duck egg with corn bread. The duck confit was delusions (if you don't like greasy though you won't like it). The egg was under seasoned and the cornbread was just okay. However, the burger was delusions. They have their own Big Mac sauce and a perfectly fried egg. The patty was done medium and just the right amount of juicy and tender. Fried were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Our server was okay. She want particularly friendly or excited about talking about the menu (which is too bad. I always loved talking about the menus I served for years) but she was knowledgeable and quick.

Yelp
I love brunch... especially when I don't have to stand or wait in line. Farmhouse Tavern is one of the few restaurants that accepts online reservations for weekend brunch. Not only that, their food is quite delicious. Not every dish is terrific, but most of them are very good. Their menu changes occasionally, but standouts include the duck and eggs benedict. Tip: I like their outdoor patio, but they also have a great private dining area in the back which can seat 8. Great for private parties!

Yelp
3.5/4 - overall My boyfriend and I come here ever so often as it used to be one of his favourite brunch places. We stopped by on a Sunday around 1:30PM and was promptly seated. The menu is written on a chalkboard on the wall, so you can browse on your own as you wait for your server to come by. Only issue is when a server doesn't come by for at least 20 minutes. We saw servers walking past our table, helping the other ones but it seemed like they were too busy handling their tables to bother looking at our table or to notice that we did not have water in our cups and that we did not take our orders. Luckily, I was able to flag down a waitress who was waiting the tables on the other side of the restaurant and helped us take our orders promptly. We both got the pancakes with a side order of fries. These pancakes were super light, fluffy, and not too sweet. It was topped with just the right amount of strawberries and syrup on the side as well! This was definitely one of my favourites from their menu, with their French toast following closely after. The thing to note is that their menu changes constantly, so this may not be on the menu the next time you choose to go for brunch.

Victoria D.

Yelp
I haven't actually eaten here. I was on the website checking the menu but many items listed (food and drink) just say "enter your description here". I was hoping if I gave a good review someone from the restaurant would read it and fix the website.

Yelp
Online this restaurant views as very interesting and inviting. While the food was tasty it wasn't overwhelming and the hostess not very welcoming. We didn't have reservations so had to sit inside which was fine however the AC was either not on or very low and the restaurant was quite stuffy. Our server was lovely and friendly but service was extremely slow. We weren't in a rush but just getting very hungry. While I appreciate the farm to table menu the prices are a tad on the pricey side.

Yelp
We came here for brunch. Nice and cute decor. Relaxing Sunday. We like the local farm ingredients they use for cooking. Totally support to Ontario Foods. Egg Benedict's with mushroom $14 and Eggs in a nest $13 both are wonderful and tasty. We enjoy the good price and good food. Service isn't the best but not the worst. Our server accommodates our preferred seating and needs e.g. vegetarian option and water refills. They have good music and nice vibe. I recommend you to come here and enjoy the fresh food by chef Darcy. Lastly, they have menu on the wall and I like the idea of conserving papers and see at one glance only if you sit inside. =) not sure if patio also a menu on the exterior wall though

Kerry H.

Yelp
We were so looking forward to trying out this restaurant but it fell very short of our expectations. not only that but the price of the meals compared to the taste and portion was way over priced. on a different note it seemed as though covid policies were not totally followed. Our vaccinations were verified but we sat under 6 feet from the table beside us. the perks, the venue is unique and has a cool vibe. The patio would be great on a summer day. It's even covered when raining so it can be utilized for a larger part of the year.

Yelp
After two good prior experiences here, yesterday's brunch was a huge disappointment. We had a reservation but still had to wait (they did offer us beverages while we stood at the entrance). My daughter ordered a burger and after a few bites realized it was terribly undercooked (AKA: RAW). They did remove it from our bill but we left worried about our daughter's health. We will not be returning!

Yelp
Farm to table restaurant that switches their menu weekly depending on what comes in! We tried both Benny's and both were amazing. Charlie was awesome- we would definitely come back!! Try their freshly squeezed juices too :)

Yelp
I hosted my boyfriend's birthday here. I left the place with mixed feelings. Some of our guests were happy, some of them weren't. The service was so bad that we had to host ourselves most of the night. The food was overly priced for the portion of the dishes we ordered. The menu is a hit and miss with certain items. Some friends wanted to do single orders and one of the employees refused them. It was so disappointing because we were all expected so much better from Farmhouse Tavern. They take cash, debit and credit.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Good food and excellent service. We especially liked their bread and butter. Initially, we were a little taken aback that we have to pay $3 for bread and butter. It turns out they get their bread from a pastry shop next door and the bread was so crispy in the outside and moist inside. Their butter is a mix of blue cheese and rosemary, very nice combination. We also ordered the brussel sprout sides/appetizers whih was very well done. Lamb croquettes 40-day aged steak Mushroom pasta with creamy goat cheese

Yelp
The Eat Local Movement is alive and well over at Farmhouse Tavern! Farmhouse Tavern should pride itself (if it doesn't already) on the fact that they have an amazing, locally sourced menu. The beers, the liquor and the food are all as locally sourced as possible and I absolutely love that! Their menu changes on the daily, based on what's available. It's always fresh, always tasty and they even have a wonderful patio! Located up on Dupont, it was definitely worth the trek and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for healthy, local eats. The service is wonderful as well! I hear they've also got delicious brunch...I might be back sooner than I think. My one point of contention with Farmhouse tavern is that they have a very limited menu. I am not a picky eater, but I would love a few more options. That's just me though! Keep up the good work, Farmhouse!

Yelp
Had a fantastic lunch here today. Reservations for 8 people, table ready early. Staff friendly and service outstanding. Eggs Benedict- delicious. Pancakes large, light and fluffy. Short Rib burger great. Will come again. Don't hesitate to try this busy but somewhat hidden gem.

Yelp
So disappointing- I was dying to try this place for ages. I always hear great things about this place. The patio looks delightful. Good location. I will say that the service was good but the food was bad. It takes a lot for me to write that food was bad, but this had to be one of the worst meals I have had out in ages. I know that the Farmhouse Tavern is known for yummy comfort food and due to my recent discovery of a wheat allergy, I can be somewhat limited, so brunch outings are far and few between for me these days. I went with the only menu option for Sunday brunch, which was a grilled eggplant. When the dish was described to us ( my friend and I each ordered the same dish) it sounded delightful and promising. It was supposed to be topped with an in-house sauce and a lot of other grandiose word were used to describe it. I decided to add two eggs for some protein. The eggplant tasted like nothing. The eggs were overcooked. The topping was simply some grilled flavorless finely chopped bell peppers. Even hot sauce and salt could not salvage it. Our food also took 40 minutes to arrive. Suffice it to say that both of us left our plates full (and stomachs empty). For $25 with tax, tip and coffee- I cannot say I will be returning. I had such high hopes for FT. Another over-hyped Toronto establishment IMHO.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place for the longest time and what a disappointment. I rarely will write a bad review but this was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Firstly, the patio tables are made up of patio stones and weathered placemats. I was happy to look past that thinking the food would be better. I had the Mother and Child Reunion ($17 on the menu board but $18 on the bill) with one of the worst bitter/burnt coffees ($4) I've tasted and my wife had the Bacon Eggs Benny ($16). The Mother and Child Reunion was duck two ways, confit and a scotch egg style egg. The confit was over cooked, then fried to finish off, but the egg was the saving grace of the dish. It came with a salad that had nothing but oil on it and nothing to cut the fat of the dish. I had to go get a drink immediately after leaving to get the taste out of my mouth. They serve it with some of the cheapest cutlery that they would probably be better off giving you plastic knives at forks because they at least wouldn't bend every time you go to take a bite. My wife was equally unimpressed with her Benny and also said overall it was terrible. The service was for the most part pretty good which is why I didn't just leave one star. I definitely will not be going back & would not recommend their food to anyone.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Maybe I came here with high expectation after reading all these 4/5 star Yelp reviews. Or Maybe because I was here for brunch instead of a full dinner experience? Farmhouse Tavern was A-OK but not memorable. Definitely not somewhere I would make a special trip back unless I am in the area. But there are other options in the area? I do love the set up and the casual vibe of this place. Wait staff is nice and friendly! Love the mismatch everything and the barn like feel. We shared: BLT ($14) Mother and Child Reunion ($15) - Poached, fried duck eggs with duck prosciutto The duck eggs was well prepared with the yolk still oozing out! The local sourced ingredients definitely fresh! Cote Du Boeuf for $120? or Maybe some Foie Gras? And of course some crafted beer? That might be a total different experience!

Yelp
Seriously one of the BEST brunch I've ever had! I arrived close to 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait long before a table freed up. The staff gave a speedy explanation of their chalkboard menu. I ordered eggs benedict with bacon ($15) and my friend ordered the country breakfast ($15). My eggs benedict was so so delicious! The poached egg was cooked to perfection and they served two thick slices of fatty bacon. The muffin had a beautiful aroma of butter and an extremely crispy bottom. As for the country breakfast, the sausage complimented well with the mustard on the side, the scrambled eggs had a nice touch of dill and again, the bacon was very tasty- with a good ratio of meat and fat and not to mention, it was maple glazed. The thick cut terrine had a subtle, almost bland taste to it and so we paired it with the pear paste. It was fun exploring their choices/pairing of sauces and dish. I would say that their brunch is on the pricier end of the scale with choices starting at around $15 but seeing that I had a great experience here, I am looking forward to returning!
google avatar

Marie N.

Yelp
..."Craning our necks to see the chalkboard, I quickly decided on the veggie stack ($17), which was a grilled pile of Portobello mushrooms, eggplant and zucchini served sans bun with fries. My date opted for the Barnyard Burger ($21), which was a traditional burger with a sunny-side up duck egg and bacon. Our orders both looked better than they tasted. My grilled veggies were lifeless and charred. And the accompanying tomato sauce was tepid and flavourless. It reminded me of Heinz's tomato paste that had been smeared on top. From the first bite, it was obvious that the veggies had been pre-cooked and zapped. The hand cut fries, which had huge potential, were under salted and the portion was stingy. And the bite of burger that I tried was better, but not by much. I'm not sure what the hype was about..."

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food. What more is there to ask for? Ordered the I heart beef with foie gras. Every bite was orgasmic. Loved the slaw and beef was cooked to my request.

Yelp
A solid brunch spot with decent sized patio, tasty food, and friendly staff. True to its name, all portions are definitely 'Farm-Sized' so bring your appetite! Brunch today started with the most delicious CAESAR ($12) I've had in months. Extra spicy (w/ a kick of sriracha and horseradish), thick wedge of lemon and garnished with an oyster cradled in a slice of cucumber and topped with a caper-berry. *heaven* (just wish the oyster had been cold instead of room temp, which made me just a tiny bit apprehensive). BOOZY COFFEE ($7) was nice but nothing special. POACHED EGGS IN SQUASH ($14) is delish! 2 perfectly poached eggs nestled in half a small delicata squash roasted to sweet, smoky perfection (ideal for catching all the golden runny yolk). Served on a bed of mixed greens. VERY filling. FRENCH TOAST ($14) was also fab: thick slices of fresh house-made soda bread fried in oodles of butter and topped with summer sweet peaches and whipped cream. Served with a side of ridiculously thick-cut BACON ($3). The order only comes with 2 slices but each slice is like 2 regular slices stuck together... halfway between bacon and peameal. A bit pricey for brunch... came to ~$60 for 2 plates, 2 drinks, incl taxes and tip but definitely would eat again. Especially since there was no wait/line up to get a table on a Saturday at 1130am!

Yelp
Vegetarians may want to 'steer' clear of this meat heavy space. I have to say, it's my kind of spot. Actually, the only issue if I can say that about this place is I do wish there was just a weeee bit more greens or even fruit with brunch. The sourdough bread was a nice touch but it was kind of tiny, I will say this, the food was spot on. I had basically a meat sampler for breakfast and my friend had the deck. We were both thrilled as beans with our meals and definitely noticed the lack of non meat product. Coffee was good but don't expect fancy coffee. It was pretty decent for a drip version so don't worry. Everyone was awesome that worked there and the chef was pretty chill when we had asked for a substitute. Usually I get a little nervous when anyone in a party asked to tweak a recipe but he was great. Atmosphere was great and loud but as I was told this place is always packed. So lesson one - make sure you place a reservation. I have this place 4 but really 4.5

Yelp
Great spot during COVID, they had a really great patio set up along with delicious food. I had the beef tartare and mushroom tagliatelle and have nothing bad to say about either. Service was very friendly and would definitely come back to this spot again.

Yelp
Like the vibe, the décor, the people. Been trying to come here for a while, looking and looking in yelp at the pictures. Finally made the effort to go, really like making reservations from Yelp! So the food, burger and fries were really good. Everyone seemed to order the eggs benny, and it was good. The décor is very rustic and country. I really like the cow in the basement, go check it out. The craft beer list in draught was a bit light, could use some work.

Yelp
TLDR: food is great, service is a lot more offhanded than the decor suggests. Double-curtains on entry! Despite what the rustic, hip decor with open kitchen suggests this isn't a custom-everything establishment so yelp elites please take a seat. They take reservations for brunch, which is remarkable but also disappointing in the way they gave us a table in a bad spot. It was between the kitchen and seating area, and not within eyeshot of the chalkboard menu. Servers would hustle by but easily overlook us; we were seated 1:30pm and got our food at 2:05pm. Since the only menus are written in chalk on the wall, we stood behind a couple's table to look at it, which felt oddly intrusive at brunch hour. I didn't know the mimosa was $10, or I would have passed on ordering it. But onto the food: both of us were impressed with our entrees. I got the "mother and child reunion" which looked like a scotch egg but meat-wise was all about duck. It consists of a soft boiled duck egg surrounded a mantle of duck sausage, which is breaded and deep fried. It came on a bed of fresh spring mix. My partner had a bacon eggs Benedict which was presented on homemade biscuits that were amply buttery. We feel bad knocking on a local small business but something feels off when you have to ask to get water filled in empty glasses after you're seated.

Yelp
It's trying just a little too hard. It reminds me of Joe Beef in Montreal. The scene and the food are a just a touch TOO MUCH farm to table. Is that possible? Maybe. I get the whole rustic aesthetic. It's beautiful. But then the prices. Will people look back on our generation and laugh that we pay $25 for a brunch plate in an unfinished room with a half-painted wall and a door that's hanging sideways with cracked glass? Sometimes you have to laugh at fads. We had to enter the restaurant from a room that looked like it was just one step up from a hoarder's garage sale. The host guardedly barked "Are you here for something?" Well yes, maestro. Brunch. Jeesh. Hello to you too! Our waitress was beautiful and aloof, clad in Joe's Jeans and a cropped striped shirt that bared the tiniest swath of a toned waste. Her face was a perfect porcelain. At first I thought she was going to sell me makeup or designer clothing. But then, the descriptions of poached eggs, smoked caesars and foie gras lulled me back to the task at hand. The menu - only on the chalkboard, shockingly brief. Brevity is the soul of wit, yes, but I wasn't laughing here. Benedict, eggs in a nest (a sweet potato nest and side salad...oh no), duck confit, bread pudding. Not a BAD selection by any means, but certainly quite limited and all selections between $15-25. Drinks at least $10. Even for a mimosa. Overall, it was a decent brunch in terms of the quality. The mother and child reunion had its highs and lows: the high was the fried duck egg. Gorgeous egg yolk with the perfect amount of runny vs structure. The low was the MINISCULE piece of foie gras, followed by the overcooked duck confit. The benedict was better, but not spectacular. So-so. And with the high price tag, I'd probably forego brunch at this place again in the future and hang back at a place where the floorboards are finished. Just kidding. But seriously. Sometimes a theme goes too far.

Yelp
Been passing by this place for a while and finally was able to go in and check it out. The menu is written on a chalk board with only a couple option but all of them sounded great and the ones me and friend order were both amazing. I had the burger and my friend had the mother and child reunion. The burger was great and juicy but the sauce on it was the best part. The bun was a little small for the burger so I ran out of bun real estate. The place has a cool patio that is also great to have a beer.

Yelp
Very cozy, down to earth, and delightful menu. Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and grabbed a seat on the patio. No fuss, super casual, and we hung out for a couple of hours. Got a cocktail (can't remember what it was called) - it was very refreshing. Somthing with Gin... The chalkboard menu showcased fresh, local ingredients, and they all looked so good! We got the fish dish, and the cheese/ characterize platter. So good! No fuss - if you are looking for a low-key evening with good company... this is the place to go. I'd love to check out their brunch menu some time.

Yelp
You're really coming for the cozy, farmhouse ambiance. And good enough food. Sorta pricey. I know I always mention this, but price matters. $21 for that Barnyard Burger? C'mon. It was a fine burger. Nothing was wrong with it. But it wasn't a $21 burger. The Smoker Caesar was solid. In general, Canadians' caesar drink beats US bloody marys. The place's interior itself is great, worthy of the name Farmhouse Tavern. Forest green walls, wood paneling. Rustic to the nth degree. Cozy small wooden tables with those classic wooden round-back chairs (I'm sure there's a word for this). Antlers in empty wooden frames. Come on! But hey, I love it.

Yelp
BF and I picked Farmhouse Tavern having heard great things about the food, and because anywhere that has some $100 monstrous dish of beef mentioned in the reviews seems like an interesting spot. We come in a bit early from our reserved time, but that's no problem and we are seated right away. The kitchen is an open kitchen, and I did notice that the lighting from the kitchen is not very flattering - it's the kind of bright office lighting that's a bit too harsh for ambiance. The seating is a combination of mismatched old-fashioned wooden chairs and long booth seating with cool cushions. The menu is displayed on chalkboard, so we spend a bit of time gazing, picking, squinting, choosing, etc. I'm not a big fan of the entrees being on the chalkboard like that - they're 2 words, like "Beef Sirloin" or "Braised Lamb", and says nothing of the flavour. Our server, Richard, is a hearty guy - jokes about why it took us so long to give them a try! He makes some recommendations and we end up ordering the Ploughman's Platter ($23), Bone Marrow ($11) and Braised Lamb ($23), For drinks, BF got a local brew called Beau __________ (pretty good!) and I chose a red Cab. The Platter was interesting - there's pickled veggies, cheeses, toasted bread, smoked salmon and a big roasted duck leg. All in all delicious, especially the duck leg, but it seemed a little mixed up - I suppose they have their own interpretation of "charcuterie", but there were no cured meats, and the salmon was a surprise. The Bone Marrow was good - one big bone, lots of marrow to go around, topped with tomatoes and seasoning. Last, the braised lamb was a BIG surprise. We pictured a lambshank, braised on some veggies, or rice, or something. It's like a crabcake - braised lamb on the inside, then coated and fried. Sitting on a bed of celery pureed sauce. Tasted good and I liked it, but BF was a little dubious. Overall, service was good - Richard came back frequently to check on us, see if we liked the food. With the Yelp check-in, you also get 1 free refill of your alcoholic drink. I didn't like my red wine too much, but Richard graciously offered to refill it with something more to my taste. Great meal, and Yelpers, remember to check in!

Yelp
Been meaning to go here for a longtime, and before I became an east ender, but finally made it here before touring the junction for furniture. Surprisingly when we got there around 1130 there was a table waiting for us inside for 4. And still plenty of room on the patio, though it seemed to fill up quite quickly later on. The inside is quaint and warm and comfy, like a farmhouse. The coffee mugs don't match and come from here and there... Its cute and makes it homey. Now the important part. The food. Delicious brunch. The Eggs Benny is up there with the Benny at Emma's country kitchen. I got them with gravlax but they also have a veg option with kale. The hollandaise was excellent and thick not watery. I tried the buttermilk pancakes and apples and they were amazing. Thick and fluffy, sweet and cinnamony. I tried some of the mother and child reunion. The deep fried duck egg was dope. The prices here definitely reflect the quality of the food and ingredients, and a decent meal in the city.

Yelp
Extremely slow service. I sat in a dining room watching the room turn sour with anger and frustration waiting on entrees that were taking 2 hours to come out of the kitchen on Mothers Day. Eventually our party of 4 paid for our drinks and went down the street for tacos. Will never go back here.

Yelp
Intended to come here for brunch but ended up getting a reservation for 1pm (make a reservation!!) the restaurant is cozy and quaint, picture coffeehouse meets cute hunting lodge. The service is okay, but nothing to rave about. The food is all great, everything tasted hot and fresh. You order from the board so we got the duck leg, the burger and the eggs Benedict. - duck was good, but it was really the deep fried duck eggs that stole the show - burger was a touch too salty but the bun and toppings were fresh and delicious and fries were hot, crispy and perfect - eggs Bennie were perfectly runny, with a delicious biscuit bottom and a creamy hollandaise sauce Coffee was good, but I would have liked them to refill more often, and the same with the water.
