10 Postcards
Farley’s is a vibrant Potrero Hill coffee shop where locals gather to sip artisan brews, savor light bites, and soak in a warm, community vibe.
"This coffee shop feels like it was ripped out of a Chuck Lorre script. It’s one of those places where you can always hang out, and there are people on their laptops waiting for a group of four unlikely friends to come in and drive the episode’s plot forward in some hilarious way. The staff is friendly, there are a lot of seats, and if you forgot your computer, there are a ton of magazines for sale in the back that you can pretend to read as the comic relief character bursts through the door to tell the others how a squirrel locked them out of their apartment." - team infatuation
"Wifi: No Farley’s in Potrero Hill is the kind of coffee shop where you can hang out all day without fear that you’ll get kicked out. The huge space has tall ceilings, lots of light that flows in through the big front windows, and fresh air that’s circulating from the continually open front door. In other words, this is about as close to working outside as you can get while still being within the friendly confines of a building. The coffee is not bad either, but really you're here for the plentiful seating, quiet environment, and the magazines for sale in the back that provide a friendly distraction when you need to take your eyes off of a screen for a second. "When founder Roger Hillyard opened the shop—named after his grandfather, Jack Farley—in 1989, he envisioned a place where neighborhood residents could gather, talk, and relax. Nearly 30 years later, Farley's is still a place where everyone is welcome. Families, artists, laptop-toting workers, and groups of friends and neighbors share the airy space and the elevated parklet out front. Settle in with your favorite magazine from the rack, enjoy the rotating exhibitions by local artists, play a board game, or peruse the communal journals kept on the shop's shelves. This place is the real deal." - Hearsay Supper Club
"Farley’s in Potrero Hill is the kind of coffee shop where you can hang out all day without anyone judging. The huge space has tall ceilings, lots of light that flows in through the big front windows, and fresh air that’s circulating from the continually open front door. In other words, this is about as close to being outside as you can get while still within the friendly confines of a building. The coffee is not bad either, but really you're here for the plentiful seating, the communal energy, and the magazines for sale in the back that invite you to stay for a few hours." - Ricky Rodriguez
"Farley’s is a cafe with locations in Oakland, Potrero Hill, and the Oakland Airport. But this is the only one with a full bar, so you can slide up to the counter and order a tuna melt, avocado toast, and an espresso martini to take the edge off the multi-toddler meltdown happening at gate F22. Going for any of the sandwiches is always a good move, and we also like their seasonal lattes. " - Julia Chen
