This is a great course, but not the best one in the area, for the price to play the course. It did not meet expectations. First, if the Tunnel 9 hole is your only option, skip it. Not worth the $$$. The greens are extremely slow and not consistent at all. Fairways are in various stages of growth. It was $1,000 for a foursome. This is not that level of course. The views are spectacular, no question about it. We enjoyed the course, play was extremely slow, no one moving the game along. Yes, it’s a great course, just not what you would expect for $250 a round. If the value had been there by either a much lower fee or a better course, it would be a 5 star. Missed on value.

Got lucky with the weather! Almost no wind. Really good greens, some bunkers were being repaired however most fairways were immaculate. Beautiful round of golf with breathtaking views. Would definitely recommend for anyone with an itch to try it out. Service was fantastic and pace of play was good. Definitely can’t wait to come back

This was a course that I wanted to play for a long time and it was everything I imagined and more. The course was in great condition and the weather was absolutely perfect. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great round. Looking forward to coming back and playing again.

The best hotel to stay at if visiting Banff! I highly recommend upgrading your room to the Gold experience. It costs a little bit more, but it is well worth it! The gold experience includes daily breakfast, dinner time snacks/ appetizers, and desserts. They have a buffet lounge area that is always stocked with water, coffee, and refreshments at all times. The complimentary food/ drinks alone is worth the gold experience upgrade. The hotel is nicely designed. Modern in room technology. Loved that they have Le Labo toiletries. Bathroom is a bit small. We went in mid October and came on a day that snowed. Being at this hotel was like being in a movie. The hotel is located in a good area. It is less than a 5 minutes drive to downtown Banff. There's a lot of restaurants and shopping stores in downtown. There's a few hikes nearby. The gondola is a short drive up the mountain.

Presidents, the queen and dignitaries all have come and stayed at the Fairmont Banff Springs. Many movies were filmed here. Lots of food options from a wine bistro, Italian, afternoon tea, chophouse, different bars ... We stopped here for a delicious lunch. The Fairmont is located at an altitude of 4,639 feet. The hotel has 765 rooms, a luxurious spa, and a professional golf course. The Canadian Pacific Railway opened it on 1888, as one of the earliest of Canada's grand railway hotels. The original wooden hotel was destroyed by a fire in1926. The present hotel is made up of several buildings, the main hotel consists of a 1914 center tower.

The Fairmont helped make our trip to Banff even more memorable and special. It looks like a castle in the middle of the mountains, every window you look out you've got an amazing view. During the winter it was beautiful seeing all of the snow capped mountains. From the Banff gondola and one of our hiking trails you could look down at the hotel, and it reminded us of Hogwarts from Harry Potter lol We spent one of our afternoons at the spa, and it was wonderful. We booked massages and then afterwards spent time in the different hot tubes they had. There was several, one in the locker room, one outdoors with a killer view, and then different ones indoors that were different temperatures. Our room was nice, and enjoyed the unique set up. It wasn't your typical rectangular hotel room, this bad character to it. My only two qualms were that the bathroom was very tiny. Shower was extremely small, like you had to maneuver yourself around just to shut the door. The lighting in the room was also very dim, making it hard to get dressed and see to do your make up. But overall, we throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly!

Let me start out with all the positives of which there are many. - The hotel is beautiful inside and out. It offers spectacular views. - The hotel also boasts a number of very nice restaurants. - The hotel staff are polite, responsive and courteous. - it's a bit of a maze inside but that's also part of the charm. In my opinion it's a gorgeous hotel inside and out. Now for the reason for the 3 stars. - my room was insanely hot the first night. Even after the maintenance folks came it was hot. Initially, the bathroom was measured at 41C by the maintenance staff. - The first night was horrible -- very difficulty to sleep even with all the windows open -- and to their credit they they did provide a generous coupon for dining at the vermillion. While the room was okay during the day, the it started to get very hot again the second night. I'm not sure what the problem is but if you can't maintain a proper temperature in the room, regardless of how good the service and decor is, it's unacceptable. - The toilet in the bathroom is very poorly placed -- makes it very uncomfortable. So a great hotel in many ways but needs to improve on some very important fundamentals.

Great staff that try their best to accommodate their guests but some things need improvement. We were expecting two full size beds but there was only one, and my niece really didn't want to sleep with her 84 year old grandmother. Sure, the small print indicated that there was no guarantee when it comes to beds but room roulette is not a good business practice. If you book a room expecting two beds there needs to be two beds. Other than the bed snafu the hotel is great and the grounds are beautiful.

Amazing outdoor pool. Love the outdoor skating rink in winter time. And beautiful views of the golf course year round. I love the fairmont castle. No visit to banff is complete without a visit here. I've stayed here many times and the rooms are basic and typical for a fairmont room. But most people stay here to go to the pool or use the grounds for their stay. I love hiking the trails behind the grounds near the bow river. And my favourite thing to do here is cycle the golf course in the summer time. The cycle trail is my favourite loop trail in banff and it is relatively easy snd secluded. Not many people ride here except the locals. So as a local from alberta. The secret it out! This course regularly has a herd of elk seen from the trail so keep your distance and admire them from afar as they can be quite dangerous. Dont miss out on the outdoor hot tub. It is alot nicer than the hot springs in banff. And they have an Olympic size lap pool and hot tub inside. I love this place!

Beautiful hotel, oldest in town 1888, but obviously updated. I will say that the rooms are very small, especially the bathrooms. The views are incredible and you hardly in your room anyway. The Roam bus stop is down the hill and will take you pretty much anywhere but walking into town is very easy. The staff here is wonderful from guest relations to the housekeepers. Luxury hotel worth the cost! Oh and definitely check out the spa. The mineral pools are amazing !

This hotel and surrounding area is so fun to explore! I had the privilege of staying here for two nights on a work trip and fell in love with "The Living Room" of the Fairmont Banff Springs. It is the perfect quiet spot to relax or get some work done. Right next to it, connected by a doorway is the "Adventure Center" where you can find several things to do and also a water bottle filler. You can take one of the Dog Ambassadors (either Bear and Lilly) out for a walk in the morning (by reservation only, we found out!). It's a 1-party walk, and the Dog Ambassador leads you around Bow Falls and back to the hotel! You can also rent bikes for free or e-bikes for $10-$15/hr. The indoor and outdoor pool are awesome. You can slip right from the indoor pool area into the heated pool that's outside! The hotel gym had some of the best equipment I've seen in a hotel gym -- an actual squat rack (not a smith machine) and a bench. Plenty of cardio machines and free weights. I wish I had taken more photos but also didn't wanna invade peoples gym privacy. The room had a lovely view of the mountainside. The bed was comfortable and loved the room decor. I loved the scent of the body wash and conditioner. And make sure to grab the Fairmont his & hers slippers. I had heard about the several ghost stories about the hotel. I even stayed on level 8 where room 873 no longer exists because of an apparent murder and ghosts that still haunt the hotel. But I didn't see or hear anything strange. Also, near the Heritage Hall, a photo hangs with a story of the ghost bride who met her demise on her wedding day and has been seen dancing in the ballroom years later. The food we had was catered by the hotel and I was pleasantly surprised at every meal. Everything we had was delicious, the dessert table was always wow. I didn't get a chance to grab a cocktail at the Rundle bar, but I had seen on TikTok about the fun secret bar entrance :) I was a little sad when I realized you could just walk in the other way like normal haha! I loved walking all around this beautiful hotel. It's definitely iconic and I loved reading about the history in their Heritage Hall and seeing all of the old photographs.

If you like overpriced, glitz, and huge hotels, then this one is for you. The hotel is in an historic building, vast and maze-like, with over 600 guest rooms. The lobby and common rooms are beautifully appointed, and there are high-end boutiques throughout. With all this luxury, the rooms are small, and many have terrible views, some rooms even facing walls. The bathroom in our room was so tiny that one person could barely fit in it, and we had to step over the toilet to get in the shower. And the door got in the way every time we went in and out. Also, the make-up mirror was so low that it only came to my chest. Ridiculous. I don't know how they get away charging so much. Additionally, if you eat at any of the restaurants, you most likely won't get out of there without $100+ bill. Oh, and the staff? While professional and competent, they lacked warmth and personality. Except for Ben at the Adveventure Center, when we hired bikes to ride. He was truly helpful and friendly.

It's hard to describe our experience staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs. But we loved it so much that we extended our stay an extra night. Fairmont Banff Springs is absolutely majestic when you're arriving, and every taxi driver is eager to talk about the incredible history of the castle and it's builder. All of the staff we encountered were amazingly helpful and accommodating. The coffee shop on the first floor is open 24 hours, and after traveling to 30 countries, my fiancee said the mocha served here was the best she's ever had. The rooms are lovely and modern. Bed is comfy enough to make it difficult to leave. THE VIEWS. From every level, the restaurants, the bar, the front door, everywhere. Choose a room with a view. The mountain views from all over the property are UNMATCHED, and will keep us coming back to Banff and the Fairmont in the future. There are a few trails that can be accessed fairly quickly from the property. The Bow Falls are about a 10-minute walk with beautiful views. You can also take a 15-20 minute walk into town or towards other trails. We enjoyed both Vermillion and Rundle Bar for good food and drinks. If you're choosing Fairmont Banff Springs, would highly recommend spending time on the property to enjoy the amenities. There are many daily activities that the hotel offers and I wish we had more time to enjoy a few more.

It is more expensive but worth the slightly less than mile stroll from Banff's walking street and plethora of tourist dining options. We did not need reservations for two, overlooking one of the most beautiful vistas in the Rocky Mountains. Huge app of hummus, Turkey club with sweet potato fries, expertly assembled and served was easily split for a mere USD 40 including tip. Go to Banff and enjoy the best

Absolutely loved our stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs! Not one single complaint. Breakfast was amazingly delicious. Pool was so relaxing. Felt like a princess in our castle during our stay. Service was fantastic. Already planning our return.

This is not a resort where one can relax and discharge. This is more like a 3-star hotel in a castle-like architecture but you will be staying in tiny old rooms and experience a busy hotel full of tour groups. For a luxury hotel that charges over $1000 per night, the hotel was very hectic. We always had a full elevator with people stuffed like dumplings and our room was tiny. It was smaller than the average bedroom in New York City and that says something. During our stay, there were day tourists coming for a meal, tour groups shuffled in and out by tour guides and big buses, and weddings at the same time. At one night they had a wedding party that our whole floor was feeling the beat until 11pm. This is especially annoying given that most people are here for the nature and the national parks and if you want to get up early to beat the crowd. The plus is that the hotel had some pretty good onsite restaurants and the food and service were very good. I would not recommend here at all.

10/10 experience!! We stayed at the Fairmont this weekend on the Gold level. This is so worth the stay! We were treated like royalty. They had complimentary breakfast, hor dourves, and dessert every day! The gold level had their own valet and entrance. The staff was SO nice and friendly. So helpful.. they made our experience unforgettable. The Fairmont is so stunning. The views are amazing and the hotel has everything you can imagine. It is huge. Several places to eat and several places for sitting and enjoying the view. Rooms were spacious, clean and gorgeous. We cannot wait to be back.

What can I say? Wow! This place feels like a castle. We splurged and paid for one night here. We woke up early and watched the sun rise from their outdoor heated pool. It was a great experience. We walked the grounds afterwards and took it all in. So why only 4 stars? The price. Was it worth it? I'd say to say you got to experience it, yes, but would I recommend everyone spending that much, probably not. You can get views of the outside from the viewpoint. The rooms themselves are just plain.

Recently we have stayed at several Fairmont hotels - Calgary to Lake Louise and this complex was by far the best. Yes, the history the location, cleanliness, was top notice. The staff was exceedingly accommodating. The trails are well laid out and very clean. Danny was phenomenal knows his stuff over 22 years of service. 2 brothers and his mother work there. Hiroe. So so sweet when serving breakfast over 18 years Anil. Rundle bar. Polite quick and excellent conversationalist. Rob in Concierge The go to guy "he knows things". 41 years of service Truly a delightful experience. A burr in the saddle is. The first room we were assigned. Newly renovated yet the hotel should ask for their money back. Who in their right mind would put the Bed on one wall and the TV. 30 degree angle with a mounting bracket that does not articulate so you can see it from the bed. A MUST STAY

Outstanding! The Banff Springs Hotel had been on my bucket list since the mid-1980s, when I had wandered through their lobby as part of a student exchange program. I was beyond excited to be staying at the "Castle in the Rockies", even with the high season post-pandemic price tag. We arrived a bit late for our Afternoon Tea reservation and so checked in after that. On check in, we were offered free parking and breakfast to enjoy in our stay. Nice! This resort is so beautiful and while I normally resent not getting a bedside table for my phone, etc, I was delighted to have a window seat with mountain views instead. We had a spacious corner suite with two queens and mountain views from all of the windows. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Nice products in the washroom. The restaurants, golf and the spa at the hotel were similarly terrific. We barely left the resort during our stay, choosing to take it all in.

Crazy huge historic hotel, surrounded by the beauty of Banff National Park. Lovely walking trail along the Bow River to the downtown Banff area, where you can rub elbows with hundreds of tourists and shop to your heart's content! Hiking trails and lookouts abound in the area. But we mostly enjoyed eating in the numerous bar choices in the hotel, one of which was the Patio Bar with a gorgeous view of nearby mountains. Drink in the beauty as well as the cocktail! It was Canada Thanksgiving weekend, so restaurants were full. Weather was outstanding!

Loved the Fairmont in BANFF! They let you dine and have cocktails even if you were not a guest (unlike Lake Louise Fairmont) !!!! Beautiful hotel and lots of picture opportunities!

This was one of the hotel my husband and I stayed in during our honeymoon in Banff. My parents recommended us to stay here for a few days since they took me here when I was younger and had a great experience. I had inquired about a honeymoon suite that wasn't too crazy expensive and they recommended we stay at the gatehouse suite view with a king bed. Our reservation had 2 queen beds but when I spoke to someone days before we arrived, she said she switched it to 1 king bed but when we got to the hotel, the change apparently never happened. We expressed multiple times that we wanted a king bed over 2 queen beds thinking the change was made but apparently not. It was annoying that the person who checked us in basically said we should have initially made the reservation with a king bed rather than 2 queens. Wasn't a great experience. When we got to the hotel, we had the option to self park ($32) or valet ($40) but since it was our honeymoon, my husband decided to just valet. The check in process was just like any typical hotel, nothing special. Our bags were taken from the car and brought to our room. When we got to our room, our first impression was it seemed old and the view wasn't that great. Definitely expected more considering the $$$$ we paid for it. We found old dirty socks in a drawer which was gross and they gave us a birthday card instead of a congratulations card (not a big deal, thought it was funny haha). It was sweet that they also gave us wine and snacks to celebrate our wedding. But they also kept messing up our names which got annoying lol Overall, the hotel definitely has a lot of history but I don't think we'd ever pay $$$ to stay here again. We thought it was a waste of money since the town was so close by. We could have stayed at a different hotel with a similar view for much cheaper.

My family and I had the pleasure of spending a magical week at this extraordinary hotel. Our every need was anticipated and met. The visit was both a bit of a family reunion and end of season ski trip. Fairmont made both aspects of the gathering a success. We dined in almost all of the many restaurants and found the quality of food and service to exceptional. We in particular enjoyed the Rundel Bar and Gold Lounge. The property is perched in the forest below Rundle Mountain overlooking the Bow River. Its magnificent setting may be viewed as castle like from kilometers away. Upon arrival the experience further speaks to history, elegance and adventure. We look forward to going back again and again.

Some of the staff members were incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Alternatively, some were rude, unhelpful, and provided us with completely incorrect information. It's a beautiful hotel but the variety in staff quality was really confusing. Of note, the valets were incredible. Polite, attentive, personable, and helpful.

All of that and a bag of chips!! Eek. The castle on the hills. The haunted one at that!! Eek x 100. I've been to Banff before but in summer and without staying at this hotel. Banff trip isn't a Banff trip unless you stay here: K?! So I came and for my birthday last week: which was also Easter weekend/ spring break! It was SO busy. Glad I booked ahead. The castle!' I came for the castle. And that haunted vibes with all that history: total cherry on top with a chef kiss!! The views/ I went up Banff gondola first since I got here early. Then came here and look at that same sulphur mountain summit from here: I can't decide which view is better. But it's so cool that you can see this chateau from summit up above 8500 feet elevation. It's that grand. Made me feel like I was in a West Anderson movie! Like grand Budapest hotel but much grander with so much history! The historic halls were the best. The ghost bride: the Marilyn Monroe's visit! The $1 special menu with the chinas used for royal family visit!! Eeek! So MUCH history!! And the views. Room views! The terrace views! The bar views! The gazebo views!!! I even walked around late night to get a glimpse of that ghost bride but no such luck for me :) Overall: birthday in Banff!! With this castle stay? It was perfect! I was debating between this and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Glad I made it here. The coolest castle!! All hotel stays should be this cool, interesting, exciting, stunning, gorgeous with so much history. I love it!

A once in a lifetime experience. From the ride up to the castle in the sky to stepping on the grounds breathtaking. I truly recommend everyone to visit.

Really can't say enough great things about this place. We were upgraded to Fairmont Gold the day of and we should've done that from the start. With Fairmont Gold, you get your own private entrance to the hotel, private lobby and concierge, private lounge (that comes with complimentary breakfast and snacks through the day), free bikes for an hour, and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. When you arrive, you're taken to your private entrance and greeted by one of the Gold team members. We had Christian and he was the best, we really can't thank him enough, he truly blew us away! Shoutout to Christian! He gave us a little tour of the hotel and showed us to our rooms. Before we were dropped off at our rooms, Christian showed us the Fairmont Gold Lounge. We arrived shortly after breakfast but they still had some stuff out and I had the best butter croissant of my life there. It was insane. The lounge is stocked with water (packaged as well as on tap), juices, coffee, sodas, teas, and an assortment of milks. The staff was available to make any sort of special coffee drink you wanted (lattes and such). All of the staff is really awesome. We had a little problem with the curtain not closing and maintenance was up within 10 minutes fixing it. Not only is the staff awesome but they really seem to enjoy what they do and who they get to do it with. The gentleman who fixed the curtains was joking around with one of the sweet ladies from housekeeping and they both had me laughing so much! I think that speaks volumes of the management here. The food is great in the hotel but you're going to pay hotel prices for it. We went to The Rundle Bar twice, The Vermillion Room once, and bowled at the bowling alley once. This is why I say to get Fairmont Gold. You'll pay for it up front but in the long run, it saves you so much money on breakfast, water, and snacking alone. This is easily one of the best trips we've been on and I can't wait to come back! Huge shoutout to the entire staff for making it so enjoyable but special shoutout to Christian!

Normally wifey is a hotel snob but for some reason she found out this was an haunted hotel. In fact the first night she was there she ran into the ghost bride picture by the stairs near the ladies powder room inside the Vermilion Restaurant & had to capture a pic! We were blessed with great weather here for the three nights we stayed that we didn't even have much time to explore the hotel itself but did find out they do weddings here every day! Yes EVERY DAY!!! We have to complain that their bathroom was the tiniest one ever except for one we had in Carmel was so small though so they were neck in neck in the running contest. That closet was big enough to sleep in & kept closing after one would open it & hang clothes. Kind of creepy. Omgosh! We didn't have much of a view in fact we think we were above the reception area bc we could hear loud noises around evening time. Party time on second floor & we were on the third floor. Probably will not return to spend the night after Jennifer's descriptive haunting story of their friend staying here. Wifey can no longer sleep in the dark! Thanks Jennifer! LOLOLOL There were plenty of other places to stay you can see in town. In fact they were filming Wilderness a Netflix film for next year where it was said to be set in Yosemite but filmed it next to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel! Pretty cool! If you're staying here the food is decent in the Vermillion room, Stock for quick food & a small grocery market nearby or you could walk into town. Stay if you dare! Yes there are followers of ghost people. Go for it!

Fairmont Gold truly is a gold! 5 golden stars rating that is (red/white stars). Our experience thus far has been spectacular. These are the reasons: 1. Upon arrival a team of the Fairmont Gold Staff met us the Fairmont Gold private courtyard with a smile, kind words with keys to our keys to our room. We didn't have to check in as we were already checked in! How about that? Shout out to the Valet! 2. On the 5th floor concierge met us at the entrance and gave us a tour of the lovely lounge. Shoutout to Gio who gave us that tour! He also helped us with our bags. Shout out to Anastasia for getting us two extra nights. We planned on staying 3 nights but we fell in love with this place and everything that we begged for 5 nights. 3. Then there is the lounge and their amazing staff! Shout out to all of you (Jen, Jell, Josef, disclaimer just because I didn't mention your names you are not less significant YOU are all the reasons we stayed extra days). Thank for for feeding us breakfast, appetizers and desserts. 4. The Concierge staff also deserve their own shout out as they are the face of Fairmont Gold (again if I didn't mention your names, you're not less than gold.) They are amazing. They give great recommendations on restaurants and hikes and activities. They do a great job of making reservations. 5. The pools are great! 6. Housekeeping are an amazing team of people and they make your stay just soo wonderful. Rooms are squeaky clean because of this team. 7. We loved all the little things: like printed itinerary in our rooms. The communications via text before and upon arrival. The turn down services. The chocolate. Is it worth staying here for the price? My answer is YES. Again you're paying for great services. Will I stay here again? Yup! Specifically at the Fairmont Gold on the 5th floor.

This is a wonderful hotel that lives up to its name and heritage. The suites are particularly nice but all the rooms have the magical views. I would especially point out excellent service in most of our interactions. There are also sundry shops, an adventure center and beautiful golf courses but we mostly hiked the nearby mountains.

Stopped here in our road trip to just look around this hotel. Ended up having drinks and apps on the patio of the bar. Breathtaking view. Delicious drinks and food. The hotel pipes in the most wonderful room scent and you can actually buy it in one of the hotel shops, which I did. It was delightful.

Complete f@ck of a hotel with loud music blasting to the wazoo to 11pm because they hosted an event and told no other guests about it. Did you know you will be paying up here when tour groups or group bookings get it for 50-65% off? I have kids and wife taking a nap and being woken up by something like this is rude and unprofessional. Castle in the Rockies is more a tourist trap and you have been duly informed. Go ask ChatGPT about what complaints people have had about this place and it should speak for itself.

This was my very first time staying at a fancy luxury hotel and with exception of the staff, it is a total DISAPPOINTMENT. It is a massive, chaotic, extremely noisy place filled with screaming children and adults who have no inside voice or courtesy for others. Obnoxious music piped in on top of that, there is no place to find solace. The restaurants are louder than nightclubs and absolutely jam-packed. The cafe on the first floor is named 'Stock;' I visited there 4 times and they never had the item I wanted. 'Sorry we don't have that... Sorry we're all out of that...'. I worked so hard and saved for a year to have a few nights of luxury and there simply wasn't anything luxurious about it. I cut my stay short and left early. Banff is a tourist trap with more traffic, more fumes, more pretentiousness and snotty people than Los Angeles. I came here for a well deserved mountain retreat and I would have found more luxury at a coffee shop at home in Hollywood where they actually have the items on the menu. There's supposed to be no smoking in or around the property, but every time I went outside there was a smoker right there. Cigarettes, joints, vapes- you'll have to keep walking to get a breath of fresh air, especially with all the cars and trucks spewing diesel. For all their environmental consciousness, Banff feels as dirty as LA. Save yourself time and money and stay at a smaller hotel like Moose Suites. Or better yet to get a more special experience go to a less popular Canadian town- that's where I found the real luxury and magic of Canada. It's certainly not at Fairmont Banff Springs. The views are pretty, but don't be fooled. There are better options.

Located in Banff, I was able to have my shuttle The Banff Airporter from Calgary drop me off here when I arrived, I did a last minute change because I missed my shuttle due to a delay and was meeting my friends here for dinner. It had a nice round about and a little walk from the drop off, it had a huge entrance and there were stairwells to get to different floors. We made a dinner reservation for their outdoor dome. It had heaters and we ordered a couple of rounds of drinks and some bites to eat. Our server was great, the dome experience was a little over rated but there were speakers that we could connect our music too. We had some welcome champagne but I can see it as a nice place for a group event. When we were leaving we looked around the restaurant and bar and there were little speak easy passageways within a library and there's live music inside. Definitely much warmer and a good vibe. It's a little farther out from the area but it wasn't hard to catch a cab back. Looks like a nice place to stay. Restaurant and bar worth visiting.

This hotel was truly beautiful. Even if you don't stay here, I would recommend even just stopping to visit and walk around. We had a 2 bed room and the only downside was the size of the washroom, but otherwise it was spacious. They have so many activities you can take part in, I enjoyed the history tour. The grounds are gorgeous and there are trails all around the hotel. The outdoor heated pool is really great and I enjoyed it way more than the banff springs. I really enjoyed the overall experience.

Love the Fairmont Springs Gold Service! Our stay for two night was September 21st & 22nd. This was our second stay and love it so much the first time we just need come back. Was able to do thing around the hotel and Banff that we did not do on our first trip. Paying up for Gold Service is pricey, but worth it - if you are able to. Wonderful experience and service. The Best breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, early evening Hors D'oeuveres and a bit later, desserts. I can go on and on and on, but I just want to say THANK YOU to all of the staff of the Gold Service. Tarryn, Gio, Ana just some of the staff. Anastasia who took care of us on our first visit, and now twice. A special Thank You to Mr. Patel. I ask if it possible to see the Turret room suite, if it's not occupied. He checked and it was not, so he took us up to the 12th floor via a private elevator and was able to tour this suite. 3 bedrooms, 3 bath, living room, billiard/game room and more! I offer him a tip for showing us this suite. He refuses the tip! saying it a pleasure to service you. We are both a bit taken back for he really went out and above his way/duties. Love and Thank You again Fairmont Banff Spring Hotel and All of the Wonderful Staff!!!

Most of the staff were super nice. But some were just meh. That's why they don't get a 5 star rating from me. For that much money ($600+ a night) you really gotta have all around friendly service from top to bottom. Amenities were nice. Very vintage feel. Shower head poured from both the top and bottom (rain fall shower head and a hand held one). There was no alternating between the two. They both just kept on at the same time. Couldn't figure out how to fix it. Guest services said they'd call maintenance but when we returned that evening it was still broken. I called next day and they looked again and said they'd have to order a new part. They offered to have me change rooms but I really didn't want to pack and unpack again. So they comp'd me breakfast for the remaining 2 days of our stay. I thought that was a good compromise and we were satisfied with that. On Sunday the service at breakfast was almost non-existent. Problem is you gotta go through the waiter to get omelettes and some drinks. Unfortunate. Lock on our door was also broken (see photo). Gotta fix that stuff or else remove the lock altogether if it's not needed. But that didn't bother me as much as the shower. Fridge is strong. Froze my coke. Internet was good in one of our rooms but not the other. Many of the activities need to be booked in advance. Some 48 and some 72 hours. So if you're doing a short stay you're kinda out of luck. Games went missing from day to day in the Adventure room. But it was a relaxing place.

The 'Castle' on the mountain aka the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, is truly magesterial & classy! A step back in time with a rich history is experienced when one stays here. FBS is elegance supreme! So many things going strong for this hotel ie accommodations, restaurants, proximity to downtown Banff, service staff, stunning views, access to hiking trails, horseback riding, cycling, et cetera! Such amazing & fascinating history within this hotel you will be mesmerized! Originally built facing 'backwards' the guests were assigned rooms facing the opposite side of Bow River & Mount Rundle while the cooks & work staff got the coveted (see my pix taken from my 9th floor suite) views!!! LMAO! FBS actually burnt down in a fire, but only just after all the furniture was removed! Hmmmmm!?? What's a classic hotel without a ... ghost story!? Apparently a bride (see my pix) tripped on a rock-solid staircase within the hotel & perished right during her wedding hour. She has been known to show up over the years, wearing her wedding dress & strange sounds have been heard in the hallways & ballrooms! Believe it or not! I stayed on the 9th floor were I took those stunning photos you see of Tunnel Mountain, Bow River, the golf course & Mount Rundle. The rooms are clean, comfortable & overall really swell! *Heads up Alert* - while you might be tempted to go to the popular local hot springs to soak up, I highly recommend using the FBS hotel hot springs pool instead! Way less crowded & more relaxing I found! And the spectacular view poolside = second to none! The castle is so humongous with 770 rooms! The 5th floor Gold Members wing will shut down soon for major renos so for future travellers - a real treat awaits you once the upgrades are completed. You must absolutely make time to explore & be fascinated by its magnificence & sumptuous décor! Take time to look at the rock used to build some of the staircases & you will see limestone embedded with fossils. I didn't attend the spa, but I heard it is superior! The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful forest - take a hike around & explore. In case you were doing a lot of drinking, the local bus stops right outside the hotel for a quick 20 minute ride to downtown Banff = very convenient if you don't want to drive. Honorable mention to the following for making our stay so memorable & amazing! Letitia C, Steven, Cybil & Sarah (concierge), Adam & Hiroe (Vermillion) & valet service - all went above & beyond & were simply phenomenal!!! They were responsible for causing us to feel like ... staying forever!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Definitely not see you later, but see you soon!!!

Beautiful! A stunning hotel in Banff. A must stay if you have the means and ability. Beautiful in and outside of the hotel. Stunning views, amazing coffee at the cafe and the rooms are the best. The staff is the absolute real deal. Helpful with anything needed as a guest.

how they can allow a party with booming screeching music go till 11pm on a Fri is beyond me. at the expensive of every other customer, you try to satisfy the need of one. after a few days here, I can say it is a tourist trap. so many tour groups here. literally 5-6 tour buses rotating in non stop with 3-4 mini van tour groups going in and out. i have never seen more people in a confined space outside of maybe a busy train station. most people are polite but they definitely attract some rude and entitled individuals. grounds are beautiful to see but horse feces lay across all their trailhead entry points. check out spray river East. 4 feet of horse poop. check out spray river west, horse manure again. check out how falls, so many people that it feels like a southeast asia night market. service is mixed with some staff helpful and others more of "sucks for you...too bad...good luck dealing with it yourself attitude". waits are long when you get stuck with tour groups coming in. order taking can be forever (though I find that surprisingly when 50% of tables are empty) if you are an American like me, this place is like a motel 8 wrapped up in the colors of a Four Seasons and priced like a Porsche.

Stunning property and epic location in Banff and nothing beats the Fairmont hospitality. The main bar was redone over the pandemic and is beautiful! Definitely recommend having a night cap here each day of your stay. We had a Mountain View room which was incredible. The rooms do run on the smaller size just so you are aware but the hotel has so much entertainment, you won't need/want to spend much time up there anyway. My only complaint may be that the self parking is a bit far from the main hotel and you do have to walk back and forth outside in the cold. Small thing to know but they do offer valet if you're not looking to save a few bucks.

The iconic Fairmont Banff Springs is a wonderful spot for any occasion. We really enjoyed our room and stay here and would definitely return again. They offer a variety of activities, rentals and have a wonderful spa and excellent bar ( probably one of the nicest ones I have seen in a while) If you want to make your stay memorable- this is the place.

Went for a 5 day trip with my family during COVID. We stayed in the gatehouse section of the hotel in room 1202. We were expecting since it was a suite for it to be bigger. However, we were reminded that it is a very old hotel so the rooms are not very big. We stayed while there was a promotion of buy one night get one night for free! We also treated ourselves to a campfire on the upper terrace which was unbelievable! We ate at the Rundle bar and at the Waldhaus restaurant. Be warned though- at the hotel they charge you for parking per day and per vehicle. That was a surprise at the end of the trip.

Once I saw pics of the Fairmont in Banff Springs, I knew there was nowhere else I could stay on my upcoming trip to Banff. I absolutely love historic hotels and the Victorian era is my favorite. I booked 4 nights here for a July trip. Just one note of caution: there are TWO Fairmont hotels you see in many pictures: one is in Banff (this one) and the other is in Lake Louise (a 45 min drive). I thought they were the same hotel, so just make sure you do your research so you pick the right one for your stay. Anyways, this hotel is great because it is located in the heart in the City of Banff, so it has all the great restaurants and shops. It was perfectly located for all of our dinners in downtown Banff (one of which was at the Waldhaus restaurant here on property). Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to Gold upon check-in, which included a complimentary breakfast, snacks and dessert bar. Unfortunately, all we were able to enjoy was 1 day of the free breakfast because we were out and about hiking from 4a-9p every day. But appreciated the cool upgrade. Waldhaus restaurant is amazing and I recommend dining there. Fantastic German food, beers, and a delectable fondue experience! The valet here is top notch. There were many days where we needed our car around 2a or 3a (for those who know, you need to wake up SUPER early to get to Moraine Lake during peak season). I was very nervous that the valet wouldn't have the car ready, but every morning it was outside waiting for us. Lastly, I did have a snafu on my experience here. Long story, but the staff hounded me for multiple days about a billing issue when there was no issue at all. Every time it seemed to be resolved, someone at the hotel would either text or call me. I was very frustrated. However, I input all of this in a feedback survey I received upon return from my trip. Their Director called me and after hearing my story, he actually ended up comping one of the room nights due to the inconvenience. That is $750 USD, so I was more than pleased-- it was much more than I expected him to do! So all this to say, I am a mega fan of Fairmont Banff Springs and I can't wait to go back. Next time, I'd love to do the complimentary hotel tour and also enjoy the spa. My goal next time is to do two nights here at this Fairmont and then 2 nights at the Fairmont in Lake Louise.

Had tea at the hotel and it was splendid. Everything from the food to service was exceptional. I found the tea I selected to be not as flavorful as I'd hoped for, but that was for to my choice not their offerings. The view is spectacular! I wish they offered less food for the set tea. Everyone seemed to leave with a box with at least half their sandwiches and desserts. Next time I'm sure I'll come back and have a drink in the magnificent bar and a bite to eat.

This review is specific to the afternoon tea and Rundle Bar/Restaurant. We were so excited for our afternoon high tea at the princess castle of Banff! The hotel is gorgeous and was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Patio was full, multiple weddings ongoing, etc. We made our way to Rundle (way finding in the hotel isn't the best) and was shown to our table. Afternoon tea time allotment is 2.5 hours. Our server Amy was very sweet and accommodating. As somewhat of a self-proclaimed tea expert, the teas were mediocre quality. My Darjeeling tasted very bland/light - either not enough tea or the tea leaves were not of quality. I didn't even bother taking out the bag because it was so light. Same story with the oolong. The scones arrived first, followed by the tea tower. The savory bites were all quite good. The pastries, not so much. I hope the Pastry Chef takes this to heart - but the only pastry the group of 6 enjoyed was the eclair. Perfect portion of cream filling to flakey light exterior. Everything else was extremely heavy/dense, tasted off, or was dry. Worst offender was what was supposed to be matcha cake. It was layered with incredibly sour raspberry and "yuzu", which frankly tasted more like coconut. As a matcha lover, it was offensive! The ambiance and of course the view was one of a kind, but the actual substance was disappointing, especially at a property as iconic as the Fairmont Banff. Our expectations were much higher.

Was lucky enough to come back here and just an absolutely amazing place you better put this spot on your bucket list

Enjoyed a fabulous long weekend at their property. Everyone was super helpful, I had an issue with the air circulation in my room on the top floor and they moved me to another room. I felt very well taken care of by their entire staff. The property has plenty of restaurants to chose from (make sure to make some nice outfits) along with plenty of activities.
