I had a lovely time at this hotel. It is very clean, the bed is comfortable, the pillows were great. I thought the exercise equipment in the room was a nice touch and the "whiteboard" was a little quirky and fun. The rooms are pretty standard for NYC, which is to say small, but again, that's standard. Location is absolutely fine, especially if you are going to the UN, Grand Central, or need to be on the east side. Would stay again.

I had an excellent stay at the Even Hotel. The cleanliness was impeccable – every corner of my room and the common areas were spotless and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly, always greeting me with a smile and going above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. They were quick to assist with any questions and provided helpful recommendations for local attractions. The overall value was outstanding, offering top-notch amenities at a very reasonable price. I left feeling well-rested and thoroughly impressed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, and budget-friendly place to stay

Great, spacious and bright room. Perfect Midtown location. The shower needed some repairs. Breakfast was not a good experience either mornings. Environment and ambiance of the breakfast area not in line with IHG brands. The food quality was bad. I had 2 breakfasts and they were not able to cook my eggs as ordered (ordered over easy and they came with rubbery whites and completely solid yolks. The potatoes were not freshly cooked, it seemed they were from a few days ago and reheated. The bacon was not strips but crumbles. If I come back I will not have my breakfast at the hotel.

This hotel did NOT live up to my expectations at all. In terms of cleanliness and the size of the room, it was good, but everything else was poor. Breakfast service was abysmal! Never enough space for people to sit and eat breakfast so often you would come down and be hungry waiting for a table for a long time. The staff are usually swamped during the service with some pulling their weight more than others. There’s a particularly RUDE lady who works on the front desk, she is not flexible and doesn’t give you eye contact when you speak to her. Anything you ask her for she just cannot do. Which is a complete 180 from the service I received from another member of staff (Justin), who was so flexible and willing to help everybody who asked for something. Of all the negative experiences I had, Justin was truly an asset to this hotel. This is supposed a health conscious hotel, but the breakfast and food service doesn’t even cater to vegetarians / vegans at all. There’s only 1 option for milk… there is usually a lack of fruit… there are no solely vegan suitable meals on the menu and they are not flexible in preparing anything for someone with dietary requirements. It doesn’t live up to expectations at all. They have time to put workout equipment in your bedroom but not invest in almond milk… or more fruit… or gluten free bakery options… pathetic. I was so disappointed in that lady’s level of customer service it almost ruined my stay at this hotel. Also, at the bar there were two guys serving there, both quite unpleasant, not friendly, never smiled at you, both came across like they are forced to serve you - it’s really not nice. What was available with the drink vouchers was very inconsistent, with the bartenders making things up as they go along. I asked one of the bartenders if he had plans for Christmas and he responded “no because I’m an adult”… again just very unnecessarily rude. The hotel is in a really good location, so if I were to ever stay here again or recommend it, it would be due to the location. I would not do the breakfast service and probably wouldn’t even take the drinks vouchers because the level of service you get will make it not worth your time.

This hotel is perfectly situated for a stay in NYC. The rooms were slightly on the small side and we struggled with storage as a family of 4 but it was clean and had everything we needed; if I had a request it was handled really quickly and I was so impressed with this. The beds are a small double (this is the standard with 2 doubles) but I can’t fault the room at all otherwise. We did eat at the hotel once and the food was lovely; there isn’t much lobby seating but it was lovely being given welcome drinks vouchers on arrival and I really appreciated this. Would definitely recommend and great value!

Тhe room has everything you need for a workout, and breakfast can be chosen from a menu. The water is hot, and there are plenty of towels available. As for the downsides, there is no makeup remover or slippers provided. If you need them, be sure to bring your own. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more pleasant.

Google
Does what it says on the tin. Clean and efficient in the heart of midtown Manhattan a stone's throw from Grand Central Station. Tons of restaurants and bars within a stagger away, including a choice of Irish bars to gladden the hearts of any Irish person living abroad. Elevators clean and efficient. Room cleaning excellent. Snack bar and reception area very well maintained, but could open for longer hours.

Google
Perfect stay at Even Hotel when visiting the UN office in NY. 5 mins walk to UN & Grand Central. Rooms are exactly as pictured. Loved the yoga mat, blocks & bands in the room. Didn't get to use the gym but it seemed well equipped. Very friendly staff, especial mention to Justin at reception, who always went the extra mile with a smile & was always helpful. Only downside was that they didn't have a selection of pillows. I stayed 6 nights & they couldn't do anything to offer me a soft pillow. I was told they had just one type of pillow. Would stay here again & do hope they take my suggestion left at reception to have a range of pillows for any clients with specific needs.

Yelp
Even was a nice place to lay our heads. More space than expected for a NYC hotel room. The room was clean, the bathroom was about 95% clean (a win) with the exception of some hard water buildup present. the staff was very nice. You enter the building and take the elevator to Lobby floor to check. There's a small bar, tables for breakfast and outdoor patio area. The staff were nice, welcoming and friendly. I got a free cocktail drink coupon. You take elevator again to your room floor. Side note: give yourself a few extra minutes for elevator wait time. The room hallway was small, barely fits 2 people walking side by side. Over all a nice stay. I didn't have a view but window opens for air. Everything in the room worked. I recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Not a bad location. Just a few blocks from Grand Central which is a good cut through or transportation option. They gave us 2 free drink coupons upon arrival and held our bags since we arrived early and wanted to hop around time. They did say rooms were ready and we could pay a $40 early check in fee for access so we declined. They then called us not even 20 minutes later (after we already left and weren't ready to go back) and said the room was ready and we could get in. So, didn't love that. They do have a paid breakfast and bar with happy hour which are good options to have. Gym looked nice though we didn't use it. The room was small (as expected) but not too cramped and very nice. The bed was cozy! I think it was on the cheaper end of hotels I could find but still a nice, clean stay.

Yelp
Location wise, this is a great option because it is close to transit but is also a short walk to Times Square/Broadway if you want to catch a show. I was only in New York for 24 hours and I had some points to use up, so I went with this option. This hotel is well designed for a remote worker/business traveler or someone health conscious. From the workout gear in the room to the LED lights to the amenities, to the color scheme, it seemed like they had a millennial in mind when designing this hotel. The cons: the check in area is a bit small and led to some confusion of who was just standing and who was checking in/out. I was offered the choice between extra points or a complimentary breakfast. I chose the breakfast but it was not great. The fruit offered was spoiled and the eggs tasted like they were made from powdered egg mix. But overall I'd stay here again, especially if I were coming for another Broadway show.

Yelp
We stayed at the EVEN Hotel for our latest trip to New York. The check-in desk is located on the second floor. It's a small check-in desk, so things can get quickly backlogged. At check-in, they advised that there was a $29 amenity fee (charged daily). Included in the amenity fee were two vouchers for welcome drinks at their bar (open from 5-10pm), but we didn't get a chance to redeem. I liked how accessible water stations were here. The lobby has an iced water station near the check-in desk. There's also a microwave and grab-and-go convenience shop to make snack purchases via tablet on the second level. They have ice and water machines on multiple floors (with clear signage identifying which floors to go to) - just be careful about trying to access these floors by the stairs... we were unable to get back in from the other floors' staircases with our keycard, and nobody wants to get trapped in the staircase and be forced to walk down 20 flights of stairs. My advice: stick with the elevator. The second floor lobby has several tables and a nice terrace to enjoy the outside, overlooking the city street. Though power outlets are limited in the lobby area, there's a few tucked away in the corner near their "Business Center," which is just two computers and a printer on a side counter in the lobby. WiFi worked well throughout the building. You have to key-in to the building after hours, and they had a security guard stationed on the first floor too for some extra peace of mind - though the area seemed safe enough. The hotel has a good location near Grand Central, with several quick dining options nearby. There's also a Duane Reade around the corner if you need to do a quick convenience store run. Fun fact: As the name of the hotel suggests, all of the room numbers are even! Our room was tight, but that's to be expected when staying in the city. The room had some workout equipment (yoga mat, yoga blocks, resistance band) as part of their "in-room fitness zone" amenity, though the room didn't really seem spacious enough to actually workout. In addition to the desk space, mini fridge, tv, coffee maker, and hairdryer, there was also a pull-down dry erase board in the room. I didn't check out the fitness center. There's plenty of wall plugs and charging outlets in the room, but some of them were loose and didn't charge devices effectively. There was also one clock radio in the room, but the time was about 30 minutes off. Room temperature was comfortable. Shower water temperature and pressure were also good. The room was generally clean but not immaculate. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the room was - we weren't disturbed by any outside noise pollution from the city nor hallway guests. Check-out was quick and easy. I gave my room number to the front desk, dropped our keys in the bin, and they emailed me a copy of the final bill. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay.

Yelp
We had never stayed at an EVEN hotel previously, but this one had a great location and great reviews, so we decided to try it. We're so glad that we did because this was a great hotel! It's located a few blocks from Grand Central and the location alone is worth it. However, the thing that really stood out for us was the ridiculously comfortable bed and comfortable shower. Nothing is more important than those two when you're walking over 20k steps per day wandering around the city and we were so grateful for those things. Seriously, this bed may have been the most comfortable bed we've ever had in a hotel....ever. It's a great hotel and we'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
OMG I cannot say how much I love this hotel. It's the best one I've been to so far. Where to begin? It has many floors and the decor is awesome. The hotel is pretty new even though it opened in 2015. Their lobby is located on the second floor and it has a terrace, a bar and restaurant. They have room service around the clock. You never have to grab anything yourself. Someone will bring it to you. I did ask for milk one time and they never brought it to me but no big deal. Location wise. This place is awesome. They also have other locations in Times Square. You're in the center of the city. I did not have any of the food they serve so I cannot comment on it but they do have a snack bar. Good enough options but very pricey but it is a four star hotel. $5 for a coffee/tea and it's self serve. Here's what I love about the hotel: The beautiful bathroom! It is a walk in shower and it's so bright and new. The bed is nice and big too. Did I mention they have gym 24/7? Their gym is not just a tiny room with machines like most hotels. Their gym is a real gym and clean too. Very spacious. It's actually better than some of the actual gyms I've been to. The only thing I wish they had was a scale. One of the oddities I find about this hotel is that they have a rope in the room . I guess they are expecting you to work out in the room but it's very tiny. I don't understand the numbers on the bar where the rope is hanging too. Hmm...I also feel they shouldn't have placed a medicine ball in the room and leave that in the gym. The elevator runs super smooth and fast. Building has 35 floors. I only wish they had a rooftop but unfortunately it doesn't cos the top floor houses seven residences in the Penthouse. The fridge is a wine cooler which I find it funny. Why don't they have a microwave? Another plus about this hotel is that they give you three cards to get three free drinks from the bar. You can get water or juice if you don't drink alcohol.

Yelp
Very comfortable. Fast easy check in. 2 blocks from Grand Central Station. Easy walk. Food and bars nearby.

Yelp
EVEN Hotel in Midtown is a reliable and reasonably priced option in NYC. I've stayed here during the US Open for the past three years. The rooms are small but typical for Manhattan and include basic workout equipment like exercise balls, bands, and a yoga mat. The gym offers a good mix of cardio machines and weights. The hotel's prime location--just a 5-minute walk from Grand Central and close to the river--is a major advantage. They also offer breakfast and lunch options. Overall, it's a solid choice, and I'd stay here again.

Mercedes S.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in town for work, I don't mind staying at this hotel conveniently located on 44th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. Being in Manhattan, it offers numerous dining and shopping options within walking distance. The hotel provides all the necessary amenities for a business stay, and the rooms are neatly organized, reminiscent of an IKEA layout, complete with equipment for working out. Overall, it's a great choice for business travelers, though it may not be ideal for families.

Courtenay O.

Yelp
We chose this hotel for its proximity to Grand Central Station which has transportation to almost everywhere in NYC. It's also a mile from the theater district, an easily walked distance. The check in desk is not on the first floor. You have to take the elevator to the 2nd floor to check in. This is also where you'll find a market and bar. The lower level is for parking. Fiona checked us in Tuesday afternoon, giving us free drink coupons for each night stay. She was pleasant and efficient. She did not tell us that our keys would only work for our floor and the closest floor with ice. Nor did she mention that they would not work in the stairwells - even on our floor. When I went for ice, I could not open the 26th floor door with my key. I went back up one floor, and the door wouldn't open! I forgot my cell phone in the room, so I banged on the window hoping someone would hear me so I wouldn't have to walk down 26 floors. The cleaning lady rescued me! She was awesome - asking us what we needed that day and whenever we saw her. The room was compact and had what we needed for a very nice stay. In the bathroom were dispensers for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Bar soap was available at the sink, as well as a tissue box. The bedside tables had USB & AC outlets. A phone was on one table, with a clock radio on the other table (USB outlet on top). A coffee set up was over the mini fridge, with an ice bucket next to it. Lysol wipes were on a shelf, under a white board with pen (messages for cleaning staff?). The bed was SO comfortable. The black out curtain kept out the sun in the morning, and privacy curtains let the sun shine in. We never heard traffic or sirens while on the 27th floor. The elevators were super fast, too. This was a practical, functional, convenient hotel with friendly staff. We'll stay here again!

Yelp
This was my second stay at an Even Hotel in NYC, but first at this location on the east side. My second stay was just as awesome if not better than my first. I really enjoyed the proximity to nearby attractions, I mean the NYPL, Grand Central Station, the UN, and Bryant Park were all within a 15-20 minute walk. The nearby restaurants and coffee shops made this place a perfect location. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a couple of complementary drink vouchers in exchange for welcome points. Not a bad way to kick off a holiday. Our room was sizable for us, can't ask for much in Manhattan, but I did like the exercise ball, yoga mat, and stretch bands. It was clean, neat, and quiet. Only complaint is we didn't have a great view (just a brick wall) but not a deal breaker for all there is to see and do in NYC. We checked out with ease and we were able to leave our luggage securely with the staff. Great spot! Can't wait to stay again!

Lillian S.

Yelp
The room is very tight. There was not room to open up your suitcase. There was random exercise equipment. Like where am I going to do yoga? The yoga mat when out covered 95% of the walking space. The shower clogged the first night there. The omelette sat the breakfast area was so bad, they put burnt pieces of bacon on it. Also there are stairs going down to the 1st level. The door swang open and hit me. Like full body hit me. And those other guests just went about their day like I was a bag of flour. They seriously need to take more health safety precautions. Terrible.

Mac_Storm Y.

Yelp
Great location! I wish the customer service would make up for their lack of everything. The front desk agent declined to use their freezer for medication. The room fridge was not cold at all. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. My room did not have a chair and the ottoman was torn and did not fit in front of the desk. It's really lacking for a hotel

Ed U.

Yelp
I wasn't aware that this was part of the Intercontinental Hotel Group when I booked a room here because I keep thinking of more deluxe accommodations when I read 'Intercontinental'. However, this was a more practical hotel situated in a great Midtown East location on East 44th Street with nice finishes in the room and the hotel overall and a focus on wellness with an exercise bar and ball in the room. Yes, wellness tourism is a thing now, and we like it. In fact, several channels on our flatscreen TV were devoted to workouts using the equipment in the room. Jamie W. and I stayed in a "Wellness King with Glass Enclosed Shower" for six nights at $179 per night. We weren't sure if we were inadvertent beneficiaries of the pandemic, but we thought the rate was exceptional for central Manhattan. There was no complimentary breakfast, which was fine by us, and there was no sense of bargain cost-cutting during our stay. The lobby is on the second floor, surprisingly spacious and social as it opens up to an inviting terrace. We were less than two blocks away from Grand Central, so it was convenient to get pretty much anywhere in the city. I believe the hotel just recently reopened in the midst of the pandemic, so they were very good about maintaining social distancing restrictions in the common areas. I'm really glad we discovered the EVEN chain as we'd like to try them again. RELATED - Traveling to NYC? Yelp
Outstanding hotel on the east side of NYC neatly tucked away 2 blocks away from Grand Central Terminal. First walked in and greeted by Kassandra and she was absolutely lovely while checking me in. She explains everything about the hotel. My hotel room was on a high floor, walked in the room smelled so good, king bed, big room, large shower, nicely sized closet, great view and added bonus of exercise equipment available in the room. Bar area is cool and plenty of space to seat and enjoy the view of East 44th st. Huge Television at the bar, ping pong table, seating area and snacks for sale available. Hotel has a gym. Offers a simple free breakfast which is really filling. This hotel is cost effectively priced and worth every penny!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS HOTEL !!!

Yelp
I really liked this hotel. My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in June. The location is great, only a couple of blocks from Grand Central. There's a couple of 24 hour stores located within a block or two. There's also a pizza place down the street. The hotel is new so everything is nice and updated. The lobby and a small bar and lounge area with outside deck are on the second floor. There is grab and go breakfast right now (al la carte), and the bar is open until about 10pm technically. The bartender started closing things up around 9:15, which was annoying because we couldn't leave the hotel. We had a two double bed room, which I felt was actually a decent size for Manhattan. The beds were comfortable, and I slept well. The hotel also provided a crib for my daughter which we managed to fit in our room. The exercise equipment was unnecessary for our stay. I wish you could request a room without it. The room has a closet with cubby holes that shares a sliding barn door with the bathroom. We discovered the tiny light switch to turn off the closet light on the last day. Oops. It's inside the closet on the wall. There is also under bed storage which was super helpful for us as a family of 4. I enjoyed the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel the hotel provided. My husband and I both loved the rainfall shower head and the hand held. Next time we're back in the city, we would definitely stay here again.

Kat F.

Yelp
Our check-in process was very quick. The room was clean and fit our needs for the stay. The bathroom was very lovely, better than most hotels I have stayed in. Staff were all very friendly. The price was very reasonable and we also received vouchers for two free drinks at the bar.

Eddie D.

Yelp
Stayed here for a weekend with a friend. It's a dog friendly hotel which is good for those that wanted to bring a dog but bad for those that might be allergic like my friend was. Fortunately front desk was able to accommodate the same type of room on another floor and the issue was resolved. Also noticed the 2nd room actually was probably cleaner and more prepared than when I walked into the 1st room.

Peter L.

Yelp
Our 4th time staying there and for good reasons: proximal to Grand Central station, area is less raucous but safe, friendly & helpful staff, complimentary laundry service, large gym with ping pong table. As IHG member they let us check in @noon, anything earlier requires $80 fee. The only minor complaint: 1 of the double mattress was uneven, this made it harder to sleep

Michelle A.

Yelp
Convenient for my meeting at the United Nations and train to Grand Central, quick check in on the 2nd floor (weird) by the bar (didn't try it), neat room with two beds (why) and view of 44th St. Rainhead shower with lots of clean towels. Coffee in the room worked well. Hallways are a bit worn out. Forgot to take photos of the gym equipment in the room, which lends an S & M vibe (jump rope, blocks and a mat). The ironing board/iron are stored under the bed, very clever. You won't starve in this neighborhood!

Eric R.

Yelp
The room was very clean. The check-in staff, specifically Cassandra, waived our early check-in fee at 12pm and found us a room on the highest floor at request. This made our trip awesome, and the location is close to the action of Time's Square. However, it is perfectly far enough that it is in a nicer part of Manhattan. I would definitely come here a third time. The negative reviews I'm seeing are BS. The only thing that is accurate is that the standard room can be tight for big people. Also, the view is nothing special, but a least it's not covered in fake bag salesmen and homeless hordes. Whatevs ;) 9/10

Ashley R.

Yelp
We recently stayed here for our family Xmas vacation We checked in late due to our flight being delayed When we check in and our room was given away so the first night my husband had to sleep on the floor so we could sleep comfortably since we had been on a long flight prior to that. That was our first disappointment. Then I accidentally left something behind in our room so I started calling and I wasn't able to get help until 5 days after (thank you Angie ) but of course my item wasn't found. But before she helped me . I was placed on hold for over 30 mins and no one came to the line . I was also told they'll call me back and never heard back. I found that very unprofessional on their behave . But overall the hotel was very nice and clean.

Yelp
Alright fair is fair, now that I've stayed I will update my review. They did in fact fix my reservation, though it never appeared as such as on their website and I never received an email confirmation. Here's my update after having actually stayed here. The good: - can't beat the location - super comfy bed, nice room - everyone I interacted with, from the receptionist people to the bartender, was genuinely nice! - surprisingly quiet, though I may have just lucked out without any partiers on my floor - LOVE that they have the lobby/chill area and reception on a separate floor from where you come in. sometimes you just want to go straight to your room and not deal with whatever chaos is happening on the main floor, you know? - shower was always hot, you'd be surprised how often this is not the case The bad: - no hand soap by the sink, this one seems pretty basic, instead there's a "moisturizing body bar." just give me hand soap please - housekeeping comes by in the morning so you're going to hear them vacuuming the room next door at 8am whether you like it or not - additionally housekeeping knocked / tried to open my door despite having the "do not disturb" tag out there - there's a fire alarm in the room (good) which is constantly blinking (bad) so if you like sleeping in darkness that might be a problem - lights by the bed were broken, didn't work - remote for the LED lighting behind the bed had dead batteries so for one terrifying moment I was afraid I was going to be stuck with a rave in my room all night - water machine dispenser down the hall was either broken or extremely temperamental, I have no idea how to get it to work, so going down to the 2nd floor every time I wanted a sip of water sucked Overall: Definitely not the worst place I've stayed at, but not the best either. I would not say it's worth the price I paid, but then again this is NYC so...nothing is, really. Solidly middle ground. If I had to stay here again I would not complain, but I don't know if it's going to be my go-to place.

Michael G.

Yelp
We stayed over night with our dog and it was a great experience! The hotel staff was so nice! Shout out to Cassandra for taking care of us and attending to our requests! The hotel room was super clean and the bathroom was spotless! I loved the views out of the window! They have a patio area on the 2nd floor where you bring your own drinks food and it's super nice with a great view (since the food service was temporarily closed). This is my 2nd time staying at this location and first time with a pet! This is definitely our go to hotel when taking a quick trip to the city!

Stan D.

Yelp
The location was excellent for my reason to visit Manhattan. The room was clean and comfortable. You might experienced some noises from cars honking and people partying, but it wouldn't disturb you too much. The housekeeping staffs were amazing. They kept my room clean and I couldn't be happier. The receptionist, on the other hand, could use a few hours of training or refresher course on how to use IHG reservation system so she could ensure that she was working on the most updated reservation information.

Yelp
When you set foot in an EVEN hotel for the first time, your first instinct is to disregard check-in, gaze, peek and poke around a bit, and wonder if you've stepped out of the present and into a scene from Logan's Run. If you're a senior, you'll think the EVEN is just for Millennials. But a quick glance around the reception or dining areas reveals several guests who have been around about 4-decades. The EVEN is, well, it's just different from other hotels - in a novel way. EVEN Hotels focus on wellness and healthy lifestyles for their guests. They are a stroke of genius by the International Hotel Group (IHG). You'll see a lot of new and different at these hotels: cork floors (for quiet and bacteria resistent environs); exercise areas that double for another function; and novel reception, gaming, and dining areas. Just try one sometime. You'll feel hip for so doing and you just might like it.

Yelp
We stayed in a Wellness King room for 4 nights in early March 2022. Location is great, with less than 2 blocks away from to Grand Central station and about 10 blocks away from the E train to JFK. Check-in/check-out was a breeze with super polite staff. The gym had decently new equipment with a variety of workout options. The room itself was clean and well-maintained. Beds were extremely soft, but I did get an allergic reaction/skin irritation to the sheets/bedding. Might have been the roughness or the bleaching chemicals. The bathroom was clean with good lighting, but the shampoo bottle needs to be refilled. Housekeeping did not come on the last day of our stay, which was odd. The walls are a bit thin as we can hear the other guests go in and out of their rooms, but nothing too disruptive. Overall, the price was great for a 4-night stay, and the location is very central without being too chaotic/energetic.

Yer V.

Yelp
Our hotel room reminded me very much of a regular bedroom but with a bathroom. There was also work out equipment in the room. The best thing about this location was that we were by many restaurants and was near subway stations.

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
Great hotel, friendly staff, with pretty, efficient rooms- yes they are small, but all the essentials are there with some great perks. Exercise equipment-bar, ball, mat in your room! Comfy bed, nice pillows- 4, TV, pleasant bathroom, frig and small storage behind mirror. What more do you need? Extras- behind the bed wall light with multiple colors, sounds quirky but I found it relaxing as I drifted off to sleep. Cork & Kale Restarant is on floor 2 with the front desk and workout room. Simple menu with everything I wanted. Enjoyed the 3 dispensers of filtered and flavored water (ginger lemon, mint lemon). Outside Terrace is nice with tables and chairs and corn-hole game. Family friendly. Love the location- easy walk to office. Alcala Restaurant (Spanish)and others on this block. Really good experience.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel ZERO stars, I would. Air conditioning stopped working not once, but TWICE. This is after they promised to get a technician to look at it more thoroughly after they made a quick fix at 3am. The second night it broke again around 3am. Even worse, they agreed to refund me but wouldn't send me the actual cash because it was booked by a 3rd party website. They said THEY would contact the 3rd party, explain their AC broke and that a refund should be issued. They never called the 3rd party (I called them to check) and I was never issued a refund. Will never stay again.

Yelp
3 night stay here just a few days after Christmas - overall very satisfied. After examining the room, something everyone should do when booking a hotel room, it checked out. Beds are incredibly soft. Sucked me like a cloud. Very soft pillows. The light over the bed actually helped my girlfriend and I sleep. We set it to red. Gave a good ambiance and helped relax. Shower was fine. Brought our own soaps so the empty conditioner bottle they provide didn't bother me. The water droplets in the middle of the night (while we're sleeping) from the shower head were creepy to say the least. Got used to it quickly.. but still creepy We didn't opt for room service, nor do we typically when at any hotel. (Unless it's an emergency). I don't need someone rummaging through my stuff. I compulsively organize and tidy when I get a moment, so I saved myself the hassle there. Check in was smooth and the front desk folks were nice. My girlfriend checked us in as I watched over our bags and our 2 dogs we brought. The guy she was speaking to sounded like a robot from his 'professional' tone... lol We utilized the fitness center. Pretty decent. Treadmills have some track marks on them for grip. Didn't catch the brand. Good amount of machines / weights. I even squeezed in a game of ping pong with a very nice gentleman while there Another surprise is the doors aren't incredibly heavy or designed to slam shut on their own. Our hallway filled up with many guests, and for the most part, everyone was courteous of the noise. This I'm not sure if I just got lucky or the clientele at this hotel are well minded people. But it was nice not being woken up by neighboring doors at night, as this is absolutely a thing at most other hotel establishments. Looking forward to my next stay during my next trip to NYC!

Yelp
For my business trip, I stayed at the EVEN Hotel because it came highly recommended by my boss. It's located a couple blocks away from Grand Central Terminal and walking distance to my office. Furthermore, I was also able to get a good discount when I booked my flight with Delta. The process of checking in was very easy and I was able to request for a room on a higher level. In each room, the hotel provides guests with a complimentary water bottle. I use the bottle to fill up on fruit-infused or regular filter water in the lobby. No complaints because my room was always properly cleaned before I got back from work. It also had cable so I was able to watch reality tv. Overall, I was happy with my 4-day stay. Everything was modern and well-kept in the room and all the staff that I've interacted with were nice and friendly.

Yelp
I LOVE EVEN HOTELS. They are quiet, clean, and usually pretty reasonable. This one, like the other couple I have stayed at, has a big comfy bed, a large flat screen TV, plenty of towels in the bathroom, and thick-paned windows that make it easy to ignore the street noise and have a good night sleep. (I stayed at another hotel in Midtown East where you could hear every truck striking the steel plate in the road under construction.) The only downside was that the tables in the eating area could have been more regularly cleaned - there are a bunch of bar tables outside as well as larger dining tables indoors. One thing to note - free late check-out is not really a thing here. An hour is free, two hours will cost $75, and three hours will cost a whopping $150. Also, there is a nightly "amenities fee" that I wasn't aware of - it runs around $30. Still, I will continue to stay at this chain - just fixed myself some English Breakfast tea with the Keurig in the room. (The voucher for a free drink and breakfast was nice too.)

Yelp
I will definitely stay at this hotel again. FREE GYM (partial) in the room and (full on gym) downstairs. Everything is up to date from the clear shower to the illuminating bed lol. If you like walking a mile+ like myself.. this location is not bad at all to explore around and go sightseeing

Yelp
Really basic. Room was tiny and the air conditioning did not work- even when the temperature outside was 65 degrees the room would not cool below 77! Even with window opened as wide as possible . Hotel staff said they were "looking into the issue", but the whole vibe here is very bare bones and budget. Stay at the Westin a block away and have a better experience plus the SPG points.

Yelp
BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES UPON CHECK-IN I'm not sure how this hotel has highly rated reviews. I had reservations for the EVEN Hotel Midtown 11-15 May 2022. Our stay here was a bit difficult to say the least. Upon check- in we were notified that the total amount was $400 more than the charges we received in our confirmation email. Once we arrived to our room, it was filthy. There was a layer of dust everywhere, dirt on the floor and the sheets had hair and other debris. I promptly notified the front desk staff and they moved us to another room. The second room was dirty as well. Again, there was a layer of dust on everything. The maintenance guy who had to come fix the tv even stated how dusty it was. This room was also dirty. There was blood on the headboard which poses a biohazard condition. The sheets on one of the bed had some kind of gunk on it and they were ripped. The bathroom sink was dirty and had mildew underneath the lip. I emailed the general manager and he never responded. In the end we were accommodated for all of the inconvenience but we shouldn't have had to deal with the uncleanliness in the first place. Also, the rooms are very small so be prepared for that as well.

Yelp
Even seems to have a lot going for it and I'm glad I stayed here. The main lobby and gym is on the second floor which has a spacious layout for relaxing and enjoying the outdoor patio. The gym was nice as well as what they provide in the room itself including a huge guidebook on workout routines as well as multiple TV channels to guide you with the workouts. My standard room was smaller than expected but I didn't mind since the bathroom made up for it. The location is great if you want be close to the action but still away from the tourist traps. The closest subway is Grand Central, only a couple blocks away. I couldn't give it five stars because of the amount of noise from the hallway that entered my room thanks to a decent gap under the door. It wasn't awful, but I'm a light sleeper and needed my ear plugs one night.

Yelp
We experienced a very good value-for dollar at EVEN. The small double bed room was comfortable with good quality bedding. Good premium channel selection, lots of charging ports, and effective climate control. The hotel is a bit sparse on amenities. Never got a chance to try the restaurant for dinner but breakfast was good, if expensive. Tiny gripe but their coffee way misses the mark at $4 per serving from an automatic machine. Wish it was either much cheaper or much better. "Resort" fee is silly too and should just be included in the list price since the total cost is still competitive with similar nearby lodging. Can't beat the location near Grand Central and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Yelp
This is a great location The staff is very friendly and helpful The rooms are a bit small but very clean Small lobby bar, seating inside or out on balcony Food served inside or outside I will most definitely stay here again when visiting New York City

Yelp
Take the elevator to the second floor for check-in First time staying at Even Hotels and check-in is at 3pm. We came early to see if we could check-in early and rooms weren't ready so we couldn't. But knowing check-in is at 3pm.. that's okay. Came back at 3:30pm and still couldn't get a room. We had things to do so I said we'll take any available room and was told it would just be another 10 minutes for our room to be ready so we waited. It was almost 4pm and checked on the status and the room still wasn't ready. It wasn't a great introduction to EVEN Hotels. And other people were also having the same issue and not being able to check-in well after check-in time. I felt bad for the front desk people. Management put them in a bad place. But, being my first time at an EVEN Hotels.. this experience does hinder on any possible stays with EVEN Hotels. It's apart of the IHG family but I'll probably avoid this brand.

Yelp
The hotel staff are less than unpleasant. They are not very "customer service forward" and would prefer if you don't speak to them. Upon arriving I was not greeted just asked if I was checking in, asked for a credit card and had a room card thrust at me without a "have a great stay" or anything. The first night after wandering the city a bit I decided on a shower before bed but there was no hot water in my room even though I tried the sink and the shower. I called the front desk to let them know, wherein I got back "I'll send someone up *click*". An hour later a gentlemen comes up, tinkers around and tells me to wait 20 minutes before trying it again. At which point it was 11pm so I decided I'd rather just go to sleep. I woke the next day to hot water thankfully! But wouldn't you know the next morning, the day of my check out, I again had no hot water but I did have a tight schedule I had to adhere to and since I had not anticipated an issue therefore had no time to shower prior to checking out. So all in all I had hot water for 1 of the 3 days I stayed here which if you ask me is utter madness. I didn't pay for just a bed to sleep on, if that's all I wanted I could have chosen a MUCH cheaper place. When the manager contacted me back (because I did tell the front desk at check out about my issue but they only said the manager would call me) it was by email, and rather than give me a sincere apology I was only met with "sorry about that, tell you what, next time you're in town we can offer you a DISCOUNTED RATE and a free breakfast". Wow!! For what you charge a night that's a drop in the bucket, and furthermore I have no future plans to return to New York. I believe I deserve half of what I paid, since I only got hot water for half of my nights.

Yelp
Last fall, I stayed here with my friend. We reserved a room with two queen beds. The room size was decent but it was very clean. All the yoga supplies in the room seem to make the room smaller but I didn't really mind it. I liked the modern decor of the room. The bathroom was also spacious. I liked how they have a ping pong table in the fitness room. Hardly any hotel in the US has this amenity. Nice feature!

Yelp
Great location!! Rooms were good sized for NY. Friendly staff and quiet rooms. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
We booked this hotel last minute and the description of this hotel was spot on. It's a gem to find this hotel in midtown to have every thing u need. First location wise--- it is incredible in the middle of everything. The hotel had everything u need. It's modern and very clean and up to date. It has exercise equipment ready in the room. The breakfast restaurant served healthy food. The house coffee is better than Starbucks for sure. Staff are friendly and quick check in andWe are definitely coming back here and would highly recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
I wanted to love this hotel for 3 reasons: (1) I am in hotels for business weekly and growing sick of Marriott, (2) I need to find a place for at least 15 team members to stay for 2 weeks in September, and (3) a business colleague had recommended it and was checking in tonight so we could collaborate before some importAnt meetings in the morning. I checked into my room which was similar to ALoft properties - small space with large feel. The exercise equipment is a fun idea, I even packed the right gear this week. Unfortunately, the room is so small that I would be injured trying to actually stretch or move quickly The room was clean, bathroom products were nice and lighting was well done. That's where the business-trip fairy tell hotel falls apart... My business colleague has a room booked for the next night. She shows up (she has IHG status, which I do not have), and the hotel is SOLD OUT. I'm still pretty annoyed by the whole thing. I would not be here unless she had pointed it out. Now, the whole purpose of staying at the same hotel is pointless. You should be ashamed, Julie Torreys, General Manager. I don't know you, but the (in)sincere apology (form) letter that was handed to my colleague had your name on it. . The kind gal at the front desk had no recourse but to ship my peer to another IHG hot across town. How perfectly (in)convenient #sad m You've lost a LOT of business tonight. .

Yelp
Stayed at EVEN Hotels in Midtown for a couple of nights. The hotel is very nice. Lower floor is where you walk out into the street. The 2nd floor is where the lobby is. They also have a cafeteria, bar, and gym there. The rest of the floors you will need a key to access. They were currently in renovation so not everything was pretty. The front desk was super friendly. Gave me a free drink and 2 vouchers for free breakfast. I was able to check-in early since I've arrived early. The room that we were staying in was nice, but super small. We had the view of the street and the roof of other buildings. The bed was comfy. The shower was nice. They had huge bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also keep your luggage(s) if you need to leave it for a couple of hours. Free WiFi. Just make sure you get the password. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here!

Yelp
Good location. As others have said the room is small but expected in NY. This was my first EVEN stay and I enjoyed the in room workout set up.

Yelp
Stayed here in March. We arrived very late in the evening and as soon as we checked into our room on the 4th Floor we noticed a very loud mechanical noise. We called downstairs and an engineer came up and said there was nothing he could as it was an issue with an air vent from the floor below. They allegedly had no other rooms available into the next evening so we suffered until we were moved to another room the next day. The rest of our stay was fine and there were no issues. We just returned and again checked in late at night as we take the same flight. We were booked to another room on the 4th floor and are now suffering through the same mechanical noise. They allegedly don't have another room available until tomorrow. Needless to say, we will not return. And if you are booked to the 4th floor beware. The rooms should be sold by the hotel. They must know there's a problem. It's no coincidence that late check ins get sent here to purgatory. F that.

Yelp
Stayed here 6 nights. Central location, walking distance to Times Square and many restaurants close by. Beds were comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. Good cleaning service. Room had coffee machine which also made tea. Shower and toilet room was nice and clean. Only downside is that room was quite small so it was difficult to have open suitcases when packing. The view was really nice though.
