Estancia El Ombú de Areco

This place is so beautiful. We want to say that the asado they give you is of the best quality. And I would dare to say even better than what you get at “Don Julio”. It is obviously a Estancia so the serving is more relaxed. But the food is far better in quality and flavor. The entertainment offered is very nice and regional. They engage the guests with their presentations. The horses are very well taken care off. They have beautiful percherones. I will definitely come back.

We have the best día de campo at El Ombu! The staff were helpful and kind and the property is stunning. The horseback ride around the property was the highlight for us! We enjoyed asado, wine, postres and merienda. They welcome you with a drink and empanadas which were delicious. There is free time during the day to bike, swim, play games or just relax around the ombu tree. The road to get in is dirt, so it’s a bit tricky for smaller cars, an SUV would be best. We scheduled Ubers to drop us off and pick us up from Buenos Aires. Overall a fantastic day and well worth a visit if you are in BA or the surrounding areas!

We stayed for 3 nights with our baby girl and my wife’s parents. |The staff were very attentive to all our needs and went out of their way to provide us with everything we needed. We were very grateful for their help with our baby’s food needs also and for being so flexible with her needs and mealtimes- this really made our stay go smoothly. Surrounding countryside is beautiful and the gauchos are very impressive. The accomodation was great and very comfortable. You won’t go hungry here! What a beautiful place and we would definitely recommend it.

This ranch is absolutely beautiful - off the beaten track but that makes it all the more authentic. Loved the pack of dogs running around and there were obviously a lot of horses. We had a very large room with a woodburner which I'm sure would be lovely in winter. The staff are super attentive and accommodating, even with limited English. We enjoyed 2 horse rides a day (they will take you out separately if you are experienced and ask nicely). The lunch each day was a BBQ feast and the entertainment also very good. ||The only negative is the mosquitos and horse flies, if you are liable to get bitten I suggest you bring the strongest repellent you can get and cover up!

What a great day we had on the estancia! Our group enjoyed a horseback ride, a wonderful asado lunch, a great show of Argentinian folk music and dancing, free time to ride bikes, explore, and even a pick up soccer game. I brought a group of U.S. high school students while visiting Buenos Aires. It's about a 90 minute drive from the capital. The people are warm and friendly and extremely welcoming! What a great day!

I love the South American cultures so my reviews will be slightly biased : ) I liked everything about this place. It would have been better if I spoke Spanish. This is one of the best farm stay experiences. It's my 4th day in Argentina and I love the food here. It's a land flowing with milk and plenty of meat - meat with good flavour! This place serves good meat. There are plenty of options for vegetarians too. Thank you!

We booked a day trip from Buenos Aires rather than stay overnight, but this was such a wonderful experience. We went horseback riding in the morning, had "parrilla" (Argentinian BBQ) for lunch, watched a gaucho do a demonstration with his horse, and then finally watched some traditional dances. I really loved our day here. Some women we met on the tour enjoyed it so much they actually booked a second day tour!

Such a nice experience! We visited on a cloudy day and still had a great time with 'el día del campo'. Which included horseback riding, welcome empanadas, access to the whole facility, a full asado for lunch (complete with wine and dessert of course), music and dance performance, and then some more horseback riding. From start to finish the staff was very helpful and hospitable. They helped us coordinate transportation and consistently checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Great vibes from this place. Also, they own a lot of land which made the horseback riding amazing and just walking around admiring the grounds was very enjoyable. Highly recommend this one!

This ranch was a fantastic day-trip from BA. I enjoyed riding horses, sitting by the fire, the dance performance and the very kind and helpful staff. The pastries were out of this world-- simply the best bread pudding anywhere and very good cookies. But I didn't like the beef empanadas- too greasy. And the lunch was very basic for the cost. The meat wasn't thoroughly grilled, but it was still over cooked. The sides were fine, like cafeteria quality. I was expecting more for the cost. Any parilla in BA has better food, so come here for the fresh air, not steak.
