Amazing few days at El Ombu. If you want great food, amazing friendly staff and a beautiful relaxed location then this is the one! Rustic charm but they are very serious about your enjoyment of this property. The horses are also very special (84 of them)… fabulous landscape for trekking.

This place is so beautiful. We want to say that the asado they give you is of the best quality. And I would dare to say even better than what you get at “Don Julio”. It is obviously a Estancia so the serving is more relaxed. But the food is far better in quality and flavor. The entertainment offered is very nice and regional. They engage the guests with their presentations. The horses are very well taken care off. They have beautiful percherones. I will definitely come back.

Outstanding stay at El Ombu. Diego, Pablo and the team are incredibly kind, personable, and attentive, making the whole experience feel organic and personalized. Great food, wine, and rustic charm. The 18 dogs are fantastic co-hosts, making you feel part of the pack. Thank you!

Estancia El Ombú de Areco is truly a one-of-a kind. As part of our wedding festivities, we spent two days on the property. For the first, we brought 25 friends out from Buenos Aires and rented the entire hotel for a full day of relaxation and celebration. The next day, our remaining 40 wedding guests joined us for an absolutely unforgettable welcome party. At every step of the way, the Ombú team--led by Diego--were just amazing. Every question or request we had was answered with "yes, we can do that." We didn't visit Ombú beforehand, but from the second we arrived, we knew that we had made the right decision. Our guests agreed. Start with the property itself. In consists of several buildings, each of which is beautiful. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The pictures frankly do not do them justice. This is a top-notch hotel on its own, not just a collection of rooms to kill time in during a día de campo at the estancia. We spent much of our first day (when not on horseback) lounging at the enormous pool and soaking up the sun. The team then laid out a "picada"--a snack table--and served us drinks in the shade of its namesake ombú trees until it was time for dinner. We did not even know that they had planned a dinner for us, but were ushered to flawlessly set tables and served delicious pasta and all the wine we could drink. We capped the night off around a bonfire that we were encouraged to keep alive as long as we wanted. Over and over, the delightful staff said "the place is yours tonight, enjoy it." Enjoy it we did. The next day, we woke up to a relaxed breakfast of coffee, eggs, and fruit salad. The rest of the party arrived to yet another spread of drinks, the best empanadas I've ever had, and other snacks. We enjoyed beautiful music, dancing, and the indescribable and touching spectacle of "doma india," which must be seen to be believed. Next came the massive asado. The team set us up on an enormous table in the shade of the main building's covered terrace, and we were treated to a classic Argentine meal of basically an entire cow (and some lamb for good measure). Diego even provided a PA system that included several microphones and speakers, which allowed the entire party to hear speeches and toasts. We left happy and, honestly, in awe of what Ombú had put together for us. I can't imagine a better place or a better way to kick off my wedding. A HUGE thank you to Diego and his incredible team, including the many lovely dogs living their best lives at the estancia. Never change, nos verán volver!!!

I visited the Estancia as a solo traveler on the 14/12/2024 on a day trip from Buenos Aires. Everything about the day was excellent, the food, the atmosphere, nature, everything. The staff were all extremely polite and friendly. A perfect day, until it was time to go home. The Uber, which I had reserved earlier that day, didn't show up. I was unable to get a taxi at that time on a Saturday. I was stuck! Thankfully Patricia and Pablo took care of me. Especially Patricia, who was kind enough to drive me back to Pilar, a 50-minute drive, where I was able to find an Uber. I don't know what I would have done if not for their kindness and hospitality. Thank you.

We have the best día de campo at El Ombu! The staff were helpful and kind and the property is stunning. The horseback ride around the property was the highlight for us! We enjoyed asado, wine, postres and merienda. They welcome you with a drink and empanadas which were delicious. There is free time during the day to bike, swim, play games or just relax around the ombu tree. The road to get in is dirt, so it’s a bit tricky for smaller cars, an SUV would be best. We scheduled Ubers to drop us off and pick us up from Buenos Aires. Overall a fantastic day and well worth a visit if you are in BA or the surrounding areas!

Such a nice experience! We visited on a cloudy day and still had a great time with 'el día del campo'. Which included horseback riding, welcome empanadas, access to the whole facility, a full asado for lunch (complete with wine and dessert of course), music and dance performance, and then some more horseback riding. From start to finish the staff was very helpful and hospitable. They helped us coordinate transportation and consistently checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Great vibes from this place. Also, they own a lot of land which made the horseback riding amazing and just walking around admiring the grounds was very enjoyable. Highly recommend this one!

This ranch was a fantastic day-trip from BA. I enjoyed riding horses, sitting by the fire, the dance performance and the very kind and helpful staff. The pastries were out of this world-- simply the best bread pudding anywhere and very good cookies. But I didn't like the beef empanadas- too greasy. And the lunch was very basic for the cost. The meat wasn't thoroughly grilled, but it was still over cooked. The sides were fine, like cafeteria quality. I was expecting more for the cost. Any parilla in BA has better food, so come here for the fresh air, not steak.
