"Even though the UWS has a plethora of fun bars, it's hard to pick one that I would go on a regular basis. Many of them are very fratty or sports bar oriented which don't really suit my tastes. My ideal bar would be someplace lively, great drinks and crowd, food, not too packed and great music. E's fits all those and more. The bar is never too crazy packed and there is plenty of seating with nooks and cranies all over the place to catch up with a friend. They always have great beers on tap and drink specials (including happy hour!) Added bonus: board games!" - Ken Pao
"If you’re on the Upper West Side, and you need a place to eat a burger and play Jenga, go to E’s Bar. It’s a big, long space with a bunch of tables, a jukebox, and a stack of board games. And it’ll probably feel like a little piece of heaven for the competitive Monopoly-player in your life." - nikko duren
"E’s Bar on 84th and Amsterdam has something for everyone: a burger, a big bar with TVs, jenga, and, sometimes, trivia and open mic nights. If you basically know nothing about these people (other than that they’re willing to drink with you on the UWS), these activities should help ease you all into friendship. Or at least a deeper sense of work-acquaintance-ship." - hannah albertine
"No matter where you live, you should have a go-to neighborhood bar where you can eat a burger, have a low-key birthday, or meet up with some friends to play board games and pretend you’re all characters in a sitcom. If you’re on the Upper West Side, that bar should be E’s. This place is fun and relaxed, and it’s a few notches nicer than a dive bar." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
"If you know what’s good for you, go sing some New Year’s Eve karaoke at E’s Bar on the Upper West Side. In addition to karaoke, this classic neighborhood hang will also have a DJ, party hats, and a free champagne toast at midnight. They serve food like burgers, wings, and cheese fries, and you can sit in a booth and play board games with your friends while you eat." - team infatuation
