Elsa's OTP used to be my place back about 15 years ago, then the vibe started to change & it was no longer on my list of places. Let me tell you, Elsa's & the city's BEST cosmo is BACK! Our server was a friendly & nice gal with excellent recommendations. She was attentive & definitely made our party feel genuinely welcomed. The meatball sliders were a hit, our shared pizza with a pistachio pesto was excellent, as was my pork chop salad with apples, glazed walnuts, black olives, & a host of other toppings. Another in our party had the porkchop sandwich, which had the same ingredients as my pizza & he gave it kudos, as well. Our other friend had the Smash Burger served with thick steakhouse French fries, which he really enjoyed. We will definitely be back! The Golden Gate cake & Strawberry Shortcake finished us off. I particularly enjoyed the Golden Gate Cak!

Very nice experience. We had delicious food and drinks. I had the Elsa Burger, Butternut Squash, with shrimp and peppers for shared appetizers, and a Bourbon Old Fashioned. We had 2 varieties of cheesecake (strawberry and turtle) for dessert. Everything was very tasty. The atmosphere was pleasant. Kaitlin's service was excellent. No reservations are needed (even on New Years Eve!).

Elsa's has always been my go-to for a reservation free date night that's delicious and fun. Put your name in with the host, and go grab a drink at Taylors while you wait for a table.
When I arrived last night, the restaurant was empty, the chandeliers were gone, and the overall decor was gutted. There was no wait, I was promptly seated, and I realized the menu was completely different.
Martinis aren't listed on the menu but the same drinks still exist if you order them. We were able to order the classic Elsas Lemon Drop. Wings are gone, the bigger Mac is gone, the civiche is gone, and they only have 3 main dishes (2 burgers and a schnitzel). Appetizers were listed on the menu that they did not have in the kitchen and they also increased the automatic gratuity to 20% over 18%.
I love Elsa's and I'll give them another chance, but this rebrand is very confusing and is obviously not working well. I'm just going to say it: Elsa's is trying to rebrand their restaurant for White People. The demographic of people in the restaurant is completely different now and the soul was literally sucked out of the place. Unfortunately this blatant racism may have scarred this business beyond repair because many customers will not be as forgiving as me and never return.
Truthfully, Elsa's should get on top of this and apologize to the community. People aren't stupid, they know what you're doing.

I haven't been to Elsa's in 2 years. I've worked in the service industry from casual to fine dining- now at one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee.
Us servers used to frequent Elsa's back in the day but I have to say that the new place is really subpar.
We went in on a Thursday at 5 pm and we were the only table. Makes sense, it's early and I'm sure it gets busier later.
However, the food was uninspired and bland. I wasn't too hungry when I came in and ordered the chicken ceaser salad and let me tell you how awful it was! Enemic, cubed chicken, lame croutons (the kind you get at the grocery store when you buy a prepackaged salad with the dressing and croutons in separate bags) and generic Romain lettuce.
I LOVE a spicy margarita and this one was so boring and not spicy at all. My guy had the whiskey sour and that was definitely better than my drink.
As someone who has worked in the industry for 25 years plus I was very sad that Elsa's has gone down the tube so much.
With all the options in Milwaukee we will probably not come here again. Which, I hate to say because I used to love coming here for those amazing nachos!

So I never really write reviews. But this place was so AMAZING I actually feel obligated to. Garrett our bar tender was absolutely amazing, super cool, nice, and an incredible mixologist. The Brussel sprouts were the best we ever had for only 7$!!! Amazing. I also had the best pork sandwich I’ve ever had and we got a rainbow trout that was to die for. Seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life and it is a MUST visit if you ever come to Milwaukee.

10/10! Elsa’s new menu is giving callbacks to their sister restaurants: custard from Kopp’s and pizzas like Hanny’s in AZ. The new focus on local ingredients really shows up in the flavors of these dishes. The spinach and artichoke dip is a must-try, so so creamy and delicious! The Bianco pizza is also a standout, the flavors really blew me away for such a simple pizza!

I recently went for the first time and had the delicious Double Smashed Burger. I was so excited to see Kopp's beef and custard on the menu while getting to enjoy a fine dining experience! The bar was also great, and I had a nice take on a Manhattan

Seems that they changed their menu to appeal to a certain demographic. Previously I had given them 5 stars for consistent quality of food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. But now they have a much more limited menu and just about every option I would have selected before is gone. I decided to go with the Schnitzel this last visit since it was new and about the only thing that sounded decent to me, and overall it was disappointing. Service and atmosphere are still nice. Hopefully they make some improvements to their menu because the drinks are about the only thing worth visiting for now.
