"Located next to the lighthouse, this restaurant occupies an 18C inn with impressive views that extend seawards for 80km across the horizon. Fish and seafood direct from the auction and rice from Pals steal the show on its various menus. The handful of attractive, maritime-inspired guestrooms are an added attraction." - Michelin Inspector
"A Drink with Two Meanings In Costa Brava, Spain , you may hear someone say, "ir a hacer el vermut," which can have dual meanings. Literally it means, let's go drink vermouth, but in Spain the term vermut is also a more general term for let's have an aperitif (a drink to stimulate the appetite). This slightly sweet aperitif is seldom served alone in most of the world and normally only has a supporting role in drinks. However, drinking vermut on its own is a tradition in and around Costa Brava based on old Catalan traditions. It is frequently served with some tapas of olives and chips. I suggest you try this traditional drink the way it was meant to be enjoyed - over ice, with friends, before dinner, enjoying a great view! Stop in at El Far Restaurant on the hill above the town of LlaFranc in Costa Brava. Take in the stunning views, the oldest operating lighthouse in Costa Brava, and some vermut with tapas while the sun goes down. You'll look just like the locals."
The most incredible sea views, from this amazing location by the lighthouse overlooking wonderful Costa Brava scenery. Quiet despite being high season. Private parking with surveillance. Really attentive and friendly staff in reception and the restaurant. Excellent local food - recomendable the fish and shellfish, helpful suggestions of local wines to try. Spacious really comfortable rooms - worth paying for a suite with terrace.

We celebrated our wedding at Hotel El Far – and it was absolutely incredible! The venue, the organization, the staff and service, the food – everything was just perfect.
A very special thanks to Sara for coordinating and managing everything so smoothly and for making even the smallest changes and spontaneous requests possible – both before and during the wedding. Every detail was handled with great care! Also, a big thank you to Maria and the entire team for the outstanding service – both we and our guests loved the delicious food and the warm, attentive care we received throughout the day. And last but not least, many thanks to Judith, who not only convinced us to choose El Far back in 2023 but also took such great care of us during our stay.
Thanks to the whole team for making this unforgettable experience possible – it truly was the best wedding we could have ever dreamed of! We would 100% recommend this place! 🧡

Spectacular location.
We came here for a family meal and we had a great experience.
The place is magic, the views over the sea, the lighthouse, the cliffs...
The food was very good also. I loved the black rice. But everything was food and well cooked.
The service was very good too, they weren't super fast, but we appreciated that as the 'room' where we were was just for us and had those beautiful views.
We enjoyed every minute there.
Desserts are a bit expensive.
This restaurant is a must if you are in the area.
The hotel looks like being great too, but we only tried the restaurant.

We felt it’s a bit overpriced. EUR 370 for a relatively old room and very sea side room ( half of the view is the parking lot, perhaps just a bit unlucky). Breakfast was extremely simple and the staff overall are so so. Beautiful view perhaps for the restaurant but that’s it, will not recommend it.

We had a lovely time at this amazing boutique hotel. The room had amazing views, the bed was comfortable and the room had everything that we needed.
The restaurant was fabulous and the food was the most delicious that we had on our trip to Catalonia and our waiter Gerard was an absolute star!
The breakfast was wonderful as well.

Loved every moment here. From the breathtaking views of the access road, to the warm reception, the feel of the rooms and the atmosphere after dark. You’re on top of the world, here. Not opulence, just beauty.

Yelp
We went to Restaurant El Far for Garoinada festival and it was a great experience. We didnt stay at the hotel so I cant comment on that but the restaurant is great. Make reservations well in advance and ensure to request for terrace seating as you are then overlooking the sea. The view is beautiful and the food is great! The service is okay but they can be a little slow sometimes and dont take customizations and side dish requests too well.
The area around the hotel/restaurant is quite beautiful for a walk or a hike.
We tried the sea urchins which were great - a little small but we tried two dozen so they were quite good....
We also tried the fish of the day - was fresh and well cooked...
We also tried the fried sardines - most of the seafood was fresh and great...
Definitely recommend for a nice sunny seafood lunch!

Yelp
The El Far Restaurant/Hotel, is situated in one of the most breath taking setting on the Costa Brava. The restaurant is most elegant looking and the clientele also seem most affluent. The head Chef himself came to take our order and following his recommendations...we were sadly disappointed by our dinner. We found it very fatty and heavy; not at all what we had been expecting. Everything else; the wine, service desert etc. were excellent. I feel that I must go back and have another try. The bill was about 140€ for 2, Expensive for Spain but the settings...
