Great food, great service, great ambiance, live music, (soft jazzy saxophone) happy hour drinks And a fire show. We had a great night eating dinner while watching the sunset! Can go right off the beach in your swimsuit. Love the place! Great for sunset. Staff was friendly, attentive considering how busy they were getting a bunch of us at the same time for sunset and dinner and/or drinks. Want to keep it to myself.

Great spot for our wedding welcome party! Easy to work with. Laidback and fun atmosphere. Happy hour drink specials, live music, and fire show are pluses!

I was in Tamarindo with my granddaughter for several nights and this was our favorite place to eat after a sunset on the beach. I love Costa Rican food, but sometimes you want some chicken wings and French fries. The service was excellent both inside and outside. On Thursday night, they had a local guy playing guitar and singing, and he was excellent. The music definitely catered toward older folks, with a lot of old rock and roll including The Beatles, CCR, Elvis, and lots of other good stuff. It makes me happy to see young people playing and loving those good old tunes. Go for the food and great service, stay for the music, drinks, and ocean view. Oh yeah, and they have monkeys in their trees!

Probably my fav beach spot in Tamarindo. Prices are pretty reasonable, food is great and the drinks are awesome. It's the perfect place to drink on the beach 🩷

We ate lunch here once and I think were here two or three times for sunset drinks. The place is great! Singers, DJs, great sunset and the best place to watch the good surfers in the evening. Oh, and fire dancers. Just saying. Wonderful service, good happy hour menu.

***EDIT after the owner's response*** The guy at the beach made assumptions about us and was definitely rude, at that point we didn't order anything, we just asked if we could use the sunbeds and if we could move ONE sunbed so all of our group of 5 could sit together. Then we ordered 5 meals and drinks for everyone. At the end the lady was also very annoyed that she couldn't find our bill and then made the "helpful" suggestion and send us to the waiter so he could find the bill. The waiter found it and didn't have any problem at all with splitting it, it took him literally 10 seconds. Now the owner is straight up lying. Now I think you made assumptions about us when you heard English and Spanish are not our first language. Very disappointing. The food was good, but the staff is very rude. When we came and asked if we could sit on the sunbeds, the guy got annoyed and told us we can't just sit there all day and order one beer (?), which was odd as we came with the intention to eat and order drinks. When we wanted to pay, we asked if we could split the bill. The lady couldn't find our bill and got annoyed after showing us two bills that wasn't ours and then told us in a rude way that we should tell them upfront we wanted to split. Really weird experience.

Live band and seating options for hanging out for drinks. We chose this restaurant to begin our New Tear’s Eve celebration, with a dinner reservation made well in advance and confirmed that day. However, there was much confusion about the dinner reservation and we had to be persistent with the waitstaff to locate someone who could seat us. We enjoyed the beach setting as well as the live music. Great spot for drinks and fun!

I don’t review 95% of the places I eat at, and only come to Google when I’m usually blown away or extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, El B is in the latter category. Despite the fake cheese and stale chip nachos, watermelon salad that was clearly sitting out for a long period of time, and virtually inedible sea bass tacos I figured it wasn’t worth the time to put anything up publicly. However, the owner ended up calling my partner and I up to be very rude and call us liars. We had sent the sea bass tacos back because they smelled very very fishy and when I took a bite it was so overcooked and tough we found the dish sketchy and didn’t want to pay for something we couldn’t/didn’t want to eat. This is actually the FIRST time I’ve ever sent food back to the kitchen since I worked in restaurants all through college. We wanted to just pay and leave but the owner called us up to the bar to say we didn’t know what fresh was and was very rude to us and straight up told us not to review the restaurant. Maybe we have different versions of what fresh means, but to say I don’t know fresh fish is insulting when I’ve grown up in beach towns and have had fresh seafood all my life. It felt very machismo and disrespectful to call us up as if giving us a scolding like we would apologize for sending the food back. I’ve never had an interaction so rude like this before nor have I ever been so offended in a restaurant setting. The servers are great but avoid the owner and overpriced food at all cost.
