Extraordinary place with peaceful surroundings. The church is very beautiful and miraculous. Just sitting quietly inside is enough, but hearing the choir is very special experience.

Einsiedeln Monastery is unlike anything else. A rare blend of deep history, almost Disney like religious legends, and architecture that truly takes your breath away. Even though it’s a religious site, the atmosphere isn’t heavy. It’s calm, timeless and surprisingly accessible, even for those with no connection to faith. In short, even if you’re not spiritual at all – this is a place you absolutely need to experience. Tip: Go upstairs and enter a carefully restored 18th-century monk's room where you can get a sense of the humble, everyday lifestyle of a Benedictine monk in a monastery during this period, in stark contrast to the splendor of the church and monastery itself.

The Black Madonna Church in Einsiedeln is truly breathtaking! The architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere is filled with peace and reverence. The Black Madonna statue is both moving and inspiring, drawing visitors into a deep sense of faith and reflection. The interior is beautifully ornate, yet welcoming, and the surrounding area adds to the serenity of the visit. Whether for spiritual reasons or cultural interest, this is a must-visit destination in Switzerland. An unforgettable experience!

Great church, extremely beautiful on the inside. Would 100% recommend going to see it at least once.

The Benedictine Abbey is an impressive baroque pile on the edge of the old town. Founded on the site where the hermit St Meinard once lived and was martyred, it housed a thriving and learned community and an enormous and still growing library, although the monastic population is now much smaller than at its height. It is well-worth joining the guided tour for 20 CHF if you can speak German or, like me, have your own translator. Well worth it for access to the library and the chance to view some of its special volumes. Tickets from the information centre on the Hauptstrasse off the Klosterplatz. At 16:30 you can hear sung vespers in the Abbey church after which the monks process to the chapel of the Black Madonna and sing Salve Regina in haunting harmony.

Great place to visit, especially when the Christmas market is open.

I fell in love with this holy place dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary. It is a place of prayerful encounter with God.

Review as a pilgrim: an amazing place to visit but also to stay, the prices are fair for accommodation and dinner and breakfast. Super clean and very nice welcome, definitely can recommend to a pilgrim. Check in is behind the church, you can see it on the picture, definitely come back as a visitor, thank you very much
