Stopped by for lunch and got the combo (main, appetizer, drink) and thought it was a good deal. I got the Hoi An chicken rice, mango salad and Vietnamese coffee. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and pretty tender on the inside. The mango salad had a nice kick. The coffee was standard sweet. Service is a bit lacking - my friend ordered a combo as well and they literally got her drink, appetizer, and main wrong (though corrected the errors of course). Space is well laid out and decorated. Prices are what prices are these days. Overall, a pretty good Thai spot in the area and worth a visit.

I came here for dinner with family members who were visiting from out of town. We were a fairly large group and while the servers provided good service, the food was mediocre. We ordered a variety of dishes including appetizers and mains. Some of the food that came out was lukewarm, such as the pork belly claypot and the garlic rice that accompanied the mains. The lemongrass beef was also a bit too sweet. I probably won't be coming back given the quality of the food.

I have came for a friend’s DJ set. I ended up trying a chicken taco and friend tofu. The fried tofu was very good. A little bit on the saltier end, a little stinky probably from the aroma of the fish sauce. I personally liked it a lot, reminds me a little of the stinky tofu back in China. The chicken taco was loaded and was only $5 because of happy hour. The chicken was flavourful and not dry at all. A stunning experience for the price I paid which was $13 before tax and tips. I would really recommend their happy hour.

Right after walking in, I loved the atmosphere and cozy vibes of the restaurant. I got the dry spiced chicken pho and it was so yummy!!! The chicken and noodles were flavoured so well, and the texture of the noodles were cooked to perfection. I would definitely come again and try other options on the menu! :)

Google
last week, i enjoyed my 20th birthday dinner at dzo <3 it's a small but beautifully-decorated spot across from the ago, primarily viet food with some other asian fusion flavours. i ordered the claypot special, and it was tasty, fatty, and a HUGE portion. the portions here are so big, in fact, that i would recommend sharing; 2 dishes and an appetizer would more than enough for 3 people. that aside, the claypot was bursting with flavour. the pork belly was tender and warm, with a hint of spice. i would have appreciated it if it was served a bit hotter, but that fact did not override it's quality. the highlight of the night was the cassava cake (complementary due to it being my bday !!) - absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS. it might be the best cassava cake i have ever had.

I recently visited this place for the first time with my friend. Generally, had a really good experience! We came during the happy hours and there were some pretty good deals, although still ended up paying around $30-40 per person for a few appetisers and 2 glasses of beer each. The food was great though! The atmosphere of the place was really nice and quiet, which might be only because there were not too many people at the time.

Right across from The Art Gallery of Ontario (The AGO), DZO is the perfect place to recharge and eat after immersing yourself in art. The decor really takes you back to possibly Hoi An or Old Quarter of Hanoi. The food was delicious. Fried chicken was juicy and crispy skin. The mango salad was a generous portion and very delicious. Service was great as well.

Google
I came here yesterday for the first time, this place is a hidden gem! The atmosphere, staff, and food is fantastic! This was my first time trying Vietnamese cuisine and it definitely won't be the last! I highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee, the pho poutine, and the chicken pho. I 100% will be back to this restaurant!

Yelp
We love this place and it is a go-to for celebrations! Trendy and chic decor that is formal enough for special occasions but also casual enough that you don't feel unwelcome if you're in simple jeans and a tshirt. The stone bowl is obviously a specialty and beautifully presented, but the chicken pho is just as delicious at about half the price. A definite must visit, and order a fun cocktail while you're at it!

Yelp
A couple friends and I met up for dinner after work, kicking off the weekend. My friend suggested this DT Viet place, cause she knows I am a fan of Viet food. The restaurant is located across the street from the AGO and about 10min walk from St Patrick station. Walking in I like the rustic ambiance with the concrete flooring and colourful decorations. I ordered the Grilled Beef Bun, which is usually my go to when trying out a new Viet restaurant. I must say it is the most colourful Bun i ever had, capped off with a green spring roll was the feather on the cap. The bun itself was well made and the beef had good flavour. The fried shallots were a nice touch and gave the dish a nice crunchy note. I did enjoy the Bun overall, but not blown away and get ready to pay dt pricing. *3.5

Yelp
The look of this place is very neat. I love the lamps! It was realllly chilly though so I'm hoping it just the change of season. But maybe bring layers for the winter. The menu has so many great options. Some fun fusion items. Our server was friendly. The mango salad was really flavourful and I loved the crispy garnish. The fresh spring rolls were also tasty. For me I think the chicken noodle bowl was the winner. The chicken had such nice flavour and was so tender.

Karen L.

Yelp
My friend and I wanted a light dinner. We had spring rolls and a chicken pho. The prices were on the higher end and the portion sizes were on the smaller side. Food tasted fine. Service was good, friendly and prompt. The restaurant looked closed from the outside since the interior is so dark. Nice high ceilings and some fun decor elements.

Denise W.

Yelp
We came here for their happy hour which is from 3-5 I believe. Excellent vibes and beautiful restaurant right across from the AGO. Stand out was definitely the pho poutine as it was very unique and actually surprisingly good af. Would come back again just to get it. We did not get their pho but just by looking at other people's options tables it seemed quite small so not sure if I would try it for the price. All in all a solid spot for drinks and apps.

Irene K.

Yelp
First time dining in! Gets loud and busy but great fusion viet food. Would recommend to reserve a spot earlier to try to get a table as it does get busy

Irene H.

Yelp
Spacious and airy inside, it's deeper than it looks on the outside! Got brunch, the steak and eggs banh mi. Came with pate and weirdly, a laughing cow cheese? Not the best combination in my opinion but the steak was beautifully marinated and flavourful and the dippy egg in the banh mi bread was heavenly.

Sherrona T.

Yelp
We came here to try out their new happy hour menu. We got the Sriracha Mayo Fries and the Nem Nuong Slider. The fries were super crispy and that sriracha mayo paired super well with it. The Nem Nuong sliders were also super delicious. I LOVEED the grilled honey glazed pork patties (honestly my fave). The service was also super quick and generous. I will be back to try more!

Yelp
Dzo offers a convenient location and decent viet food at a reasonable price. The food does not necessarily standout, but the portions are sizable and it's great to grab a quick bite. We got the dry pho and chicken noodle bowl, making one into a combo for fried spring rolls and viet coffee. The service was pretty fast and our items came quick. The coffee is very sweet, even more so than what I normally expect with viet coffee, make sure to ask for less sugar if you don't want basically coffee candy. I was skeptical at first but the dry pho is actually a very good mix of beef and saucy noodles, coupled with a concentrated flavourful size pho soup to complete the experience. The chicken noodle bowl is good too, strong lemongrass marinaded chicken with a mix of veggies and a spring roll. They served it with way too much vermicelli though. Overall, the food was decent, not necessarily somewhere I'd purposely take a trip for, but a good place to stop and grab a bite if you're in the area.

Denise P.

Yelp
I've been a long time fan of the cocktails @dzo_vieteatery but am lately obsessed with their lemongrass beef balls brunch menu item. I liked that the beef balls, baguette and pickled veggies are served separately so I could have the right amount of everything in each bite, without making the bread all soggy! #dzovieteatery #vietnamesefood .

Andrea L.

Yelp
I come here for the food and introduce my friends all the time because of how amazing it is. Great for brunch, lunch, and dinner; the interior is beautiful and is like a little hole in the wall that transports you to the streets of Vietnam. It's chill table service but the servers are absolute sweethearts and very polite.

Joeann S.

Yelp
Right across from AGO you'll find an inviting eatery with amazing Vietnamese classics and Street food. dzo has amazing deals everyday from their happy hour to their lunch combos! We ordered a lunch combo with Fresh Rolls, Viet Coffee and Chicken Viet Tacos along with a Dry Pho with Beef. Everything was so packed with flavour ! The interior was decorated and clean, it was a bit dark but I liked that they had the windows open at the front.

Rachel L.

Yelp
OVERALL: 3.5/5 Food: 3/5 We had the Sugarcane Prawn Pops and Shaking Beef which were both tasty and enjoyable. The star of the show was the Pork Belly Claypot with melt-in-your-mouth pieces of pork belly. Unfortunately, the Chicken Pho and Dry Pho with Beef were lackluster and disappointing. The noodles were undercooked and stuck together, while the broths were underwhelming and falls short compared to any typical pho place. We also tried the Hanoi Lemongrass Beef which was good, but nothing spectacular. Drinks: 4/5 I tried the Blue Orchid and Red Lotus during the happy hour which takes place between 5-7pm. Both were very sweet with a good amount of booze (good for those who don't enjoy the taste of alcohol, but still want to drink). The Old Hanoi, a Brandy-based cocktail with Vietnamese spices and bitters, was smokey and tasty. Ambience: 4/5 The dining area stretches far beyond the room you first walk into, with several additional tables lining the back. The ceilings are decorated with colourful umbrellas giving it a cute street-market vibe. Service: 4/5 Service was typical and reliable during the dinner hours.

Tina L.

Yelp
Came here with a friend and we're seated right away. The staff members were friendly and quick. I got the pho which wasn't super special. It tasted like pho you can get anywhere else. I wish the broth was more rich. My friend got a beef dish which was super tasty. Would definitely come back here to try other dishes as other items on their menu peaked my interest!

Carmen W.

Yelp
Rating based solely on the dry pho beef noodles and the vibes ! I love it so much . The soup on the side kept me wanting more ! The noodle dish on its own also had flavour so you can enjoy the noodles both with/ without dipping the noodles . The beef basically tasted like the same in the vermicelli bowl ! The decor is simply magical ! Love the lantern /Asia feel to the restaurant . Some not so positive points- the seats are so uncomfortable. Very hard and hurts the bum:( Table size is also very small and the chairs have no place to hang your purse or put it behind since it is not a full back chair. Unfortunately it was raining that day and we forced to either put our purse on our laps or ground. I tried my friend's chicken in the vermicelli and it was really dry . Also tried the Bo lot at Viet festival last year at Dundas Square and it was just regular ie would not get it again

Yelp
Got to visit this restaurant recently and I loved the experience here. Had a very upbeat atmosphere, but wasn't overly loud or crowded. Our server was very very nice and the food came out pretty quickly. We ordered drinks as well as food. I got the red Lotus, which was a suggestion from our waiter, who said it was his favorite cocktail it's definitely mine too. I loved that this cocktail was refreshing but also sweet. It kinda reminded me of those Asian jelly cups that I had as a kid. As for the food, we got the Saigon wings which were grilled but they were super crispy and juicy. I love the kick of flavor it had. We also got these deep fried shrimp balls that were also very delicious and I like the sauce it came with. We also got a pork belly dish to share. The pork belly was tender and flavorful and the fermented veggies complemented the pork perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend this place and come check it out!

Yelp
Tuesday evening, around 8pm, eat-in. For dating :) We ordered: # Photine Dac Biet - it is "Pho Poutine" that has grilled Pho-spiced beef, fries, Pho gravy, cheese, basil, crispy shallots. # VIÊT TACOS with Bò Lá Lôt (Betel Leaf Wrapped Beef) # Cocktail "Red Lotus" - with Wolfhead Grapefruit Vodka, Lychee liquor, Elderflower, Cranberry, Lime, topped with whipped egg whites # Cocktail "Lantern Dragon " I liked the interior and atmosphere. Nice high ceilings, exotic & modern decorations. Nicely distanced tables give us comfortable privacy. I was not impressed by the food though. Pho poutine & Viet taco's beef used the same seasoning and vegetables. Monotone. Cocktails were impressive. Lots of tropical fruits flavors. Red Lotus had a nostalgic flavor and sweetness like bubble gum. Overall, although the cocktails that I had achieved good harmony between its different flavors they lacked booze. Only me? :) The service was not as attentive as I wished, but super charming. :)

Yelp
The decor/design in here is amazing. The lanterns, tile, skylights, foliage all paint a beautiful picture. Service was lacking -- it wasn't super full in the restaurant or the section we were seated in yet we found ourselves waiting for a bit between check-ins. My pork belly entree also came out like 15 minutes later than my partner's meal. Not a huge deal but kind of unusual. They were apologetic about it. My Lantern Dragon cocktail was a but sweet for my taste. I know that's a risk you run with dragon fruit but I couldn't taste any lemongrass at all which is why I ordered the drink. Old Hanoi was "good as hell." The spring rolls held up to the hype -- they were really good and a generous portion. Crispy and very flavorful. 5/5. I wanted to like the coconut clams, and enjoyed the flavor, but it was *super weird* that the dish was basically served at room temperature. I can't imagine that's intentional? Not when it's served in a crock. The pork belly clay pot was bomb. Incredibly tender pork belly - and a lot of it - with the marinated egg, nice pickled veggies to brighten it up, served with rice. Mm! I would happily order that again. Probably regret getting anything else. We were looking forward to the egg salted snails dish but they were out, unfortunately. Maybe call ahead to see if it's available before you go if that's important to you.

Yelp
Finally got the chance to come here as wife and I had a date out in downtown. We were choosing where to go eat cause there are just so many choices. And then I recalled blogTO had an article about this "dive spot". Wife and I then decided to walk in, we saw this trendy and hip joint across from AGO. We were sat down shortly we walked in. Then this place gotten busy. We decided on the food from their brunch menu: chicken pho and "pho-tine". Our food came out in a moment. And we were quite astonished with our choices: the "pho-tine" was delicious and not heavy, plus we were told the gravy was infused with the pho broth. Not bad! The chicken pho was light and flavourful. The chicken skewers from the pho was just roasted right. Overall experience was great! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday for some drinks and dinner with friends. The place has a great atmosphere, with paper lanterns hanging in rows across the ceiling and wooden doors fastened to the walls. Dinner was delicious! Everything is a tad on the pricy size, so I ordered a starter (the Dzo Supreme Fries) in lieu of a main, and opted for a Red Lotus cocktail. I tasted some of the food + drinks my friends ordered as well, and they did not disappoint. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. At 10pm they clear some of the tables at the back and bring out a DJ, ostensibly turning the restaurant into a club. The music started off at a good volume, but by the end of the night it was far too loud to have any kind of conversation without screaming. The music wasn't really my style, but it was fun to dance to regardless! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighbourhood.

Yelp
I visited Dzô Viet Eatery a while ago after work and thought it was a unique dining experience. The restaurant serves good portions of fusion style Vietnamese street food which was new to me. I recommend the Prawn Pops and Dzo Sharing Platter. The Shaking Beef didn't stand out for me and I was too full to try the Pork Belly and let my friend take it home since I'm not usually a huge fan of pork. The service here is average, not spectacular but not bad. The interior was nice, with the high ceilings decorated with colorful lanterns. It had an overall street market vibe. The restaurant itself is also conveniently located in the heart of downtown Toronto right across from the Art Gallery of Ontario. Ordered: - Sugarcane Prawn Pops - Dzo Sharing Platter - Pork Belly Clay Pot - Shaking Beef

Rainie L.

Yelp
Delicious delicious delicious. Got the chicken pho it's a 10/10 for me it just hits the mark. I want to go back and eat it all over again. The two chicken skewers it comes with are juicy and flavourful. Also tried the passion dragon cocktail which was very pretty and quite strong and not very sweet. I thought it would be fruity and sweet but it wasn't. Almost tasted more like a mojito with very little dragon fruit flavour but still good nonetheless. My group also shared the platter which was also pretty good. Great vibes very chill and easy to accommodate groups or for dates. Highly recommend especially the chicken pho!

Yelp
We arrive after lunch hour and there was only 1 customer besides us. When we arrived though, no one was by the host booth and the wait staff was just on his phone by the bar. After waiting awhile, we realized he wasn't going to look up from his phone whatsoever so we had to go up to him and ask him if he could sit us. What we got: Pork Belly Claypot with Papa Salad Hoi An Chicken Rice with Fried Spring Rolls When we were finally seated, he was friendly and another staff came out and helped around. He told us about the lunch specials and we took his advice. We got the pork belly claypot which was good and the crispy chicken which was also good. They were good but nothing to rave about.

Yelp
I've probably had takeout from Dzo a handful of times already, so this is our first dine-in experience. We were there on a rainy Thursday evening just before the kitchen closes and it wasn't busy. The staff cared for us and ensured we had the best experience. We were surprised that the dining area extends far back with lots of seating available. Lovely ambiance and is great for a date or friend's night out! The food is always delicious. If you're into Vietnamese food, this spot does Vietnamese in a elevated way and a must-try if you're Downtown. This time, we ordered the chicken pho, lemongrass beef bun bowl and spring rolls, which satisfied our tummies. Though their dry pho and bun bo hue are popular dishes, you should try them. Also, I LOVE that there is a waitlist so that you can easily reserve for a large or small group. No or minimal wait is something that I consider when returning to a restaurant.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Food was great but the portion is small and pricey. I think the Phôtine was a little overhyped and totally recommend the supreme fries instead. Interior was nicely decorated with a chill ambiance and not too loud. Service was great. Waiter came to check up on us and also regularly refilled our water. They were honest with the menu recommendations. I would recommend if you're not too hungry and just want a chill space to hang out.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Love this Viet fusion style place! The vibe is so cool inside and a great place to hang out with friends. We ordered the Photine and it was amazing, imagine poutine with beef and pho flavours! The Bo Bun Hue was really flavourful and not spicy like at most other restaurants. The lemongrass beef with rice was yummy too. Service was also quick and attentive.

Anna L.

Yelp
After passing by countless times and following their Instagram page I finally gave it a try with a friend of mine. Was worried about seating as I heard this place can be quite busy so I made reservations in advance which was a good call. Music wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was on point, really cozy. Only thing I would point out was the high top tables with the chairs were a bit uncomfortable to sit on for a period of time. When it came to ordering I got the pho poutine to share and the lemongrass beef dish as a main entree. Honestly, it was amazing, delicious and filling. Quite possibly because I was also hungry but the pho poutine was such a fun way to combine pho and poutine! The gravy was rich and flavorful combined with the cheesiness and crispy fries. Lemongrass beef was delicious, flavorful and satisfying. Beef was tender and not dry, combine with the lemongrass. I liked the pickled carrots / radish that went well with the rice and beef. Egg was nicely fried.

Drew M.

Yelp
Good vibes and awesome service. Food super delicious, tried the tea ipa which was delicious, wish it was colder. All in all would come back to try the rest of the menu!

Cassie C.

Yelp
If you're looking for a new dinner spot, you've come to the right place! The food was spectacular, especially the Pork Belly Claypot. Each dish was brimming with flavor, the portions were generous, and they all complimented each other so well. The service was fantastic; servers were attentive the whole time there. And the decor was so aesthetically pleasing. Did I mention they do brunch?! I know what I'm coming for next time!

Lisa T.

Yelp
I was always intrigued by this restaurant because of the vibes and Instagram worthy photos online. My first time trying this place out was back in 2020 when they first opened. I had ordered their papaya salad and sugarcane shrimp. The papaya salad did not do it for me, it wasn't riped maybe? It was very firm and lacked the flavours that I'm used to, no spice at all and it had a strong tamarind taste. The sugar cane shrimp was alright, I've had better for cheaper. Fast forward to 2022, I went here with a large group of friends for a gathering and ordered the vermicelli bowl with lemongrass beef. It was definitely the most expensive vermicelli bowl (~$24.41 after tax and 20% tip). Definitely not worth it at all, I rather pay half the price at an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. The noodles were very soggy and tasted over cooked, the beef pieces were hard and spring rolls lacked the crunch. My boyfriend and I also shared their Bun Bo Hue and this was pretty bland. Their broth was not spicy at all, no flavour but tasted a bit sweet. The Bun Bo Hue I'm used to has a kick to it and some "cha" pieces. Although the beef they added in was quite tender and it was the best part of the dish. However, I would not order it again since it was maybe ~$34 (after tax and tip) for a bowl which is really expensive! I took photos of my friends dishes as well but don't have opinions on it. Overall the presentation does look pretty and great for photos. The same with the interior of the restaurant to set the vibes of Vietnam and make it seem like a trendy bar. The staff were also friendly and accommodating & I also think they should update their website because it said auto gratuity for large groups is 18% but we were told it was 20% for our group of 12. I personally would rather take my money to enjoy Vietnamese food elsewhere at a more authentic Vietnamese restaurant for half the price. They did try to make this place trendy and elevated Vietnamese dishes but it felt like it took away from the authenticity of it. They lacked the Vietnamese flavours in a lot of their dishes.

Geraldine G.

Yelp
A place where it helps to have a reservation unless you come by early. It's a dimly lit, moody space. It has this street modern interior. It elevates your regular Vietnamese dining experience. For our first time here we went with the Khay Bánh Hòi Lui Nuong, the DZO Sharing Platter for $48. It was filling for two people. You get: Bo la lot betel leave beef (x2), Spicy Viet pork sausage (x2), Da Nang chicken skewers (x2), Crispy banh hoi Lettuce wrap, Crispy shallots and a Nuoc chum dipping sauce. You assemble with the noodles and leaf along with the meat and salad your own sandwich. It was fun! We also tried a couple of their beef Vietnamese style tacos. Also tasty! They had a couple cocktails they featured! Although, I ordered the red lotus made with Wolfhead Grapefruit Vodka, Giffard Lichi Li, Elderflower, Cranberry, Lime, Egg Whites- it was the delicious blue orchid cocktail that really was the star. Made with Woflhead vodka, Soho, Blue curacao, passion fruit, lemongrass, elderflower syrup, tamarind and edible flowers.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this restaurant after finding them at Taste of Vietnam a couple of weeks ago. We had the Photine at their booth and loved it! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was very modern with the classic traditional Vietnamese decorations. I love the pretty lanterns and the scooter in the wall. The vibe was very chill and loud with groups of friends hanging out and drinking. Service was great, the server took our orders and brought our food to us pretty quick, We came during happy hour and beer I believe was $5 and 2 signature cocktails from the menu was $10 originally $17! We ordered 2 sour sop drinks for my daughter and didn't realized it came from a can. It tastes so sugary and artificial. Do not get their juices. Food was mediocre at best. That's why I gave them a 2 stars for the ambiance/ decor, and service. The Photine was honestly the only item on the menu that was decent. It was their version of a beer pho poutine. Super creative, we had that dish at the festival and it tasted better at the festival than at the restaurant. There was not even pho broth a bit dry. We started off with the lemongrass chicken taco, it comes with 2 tacos and we paid $4 to add an extra taco. The chicken was a bit dry and it had all the spices but wasn't that flavourful and no sauce! The papayas salad had minimal papayas, mainly shredded carrots and the portion was tiny for the price. The salad came with beef jerky but the pieces were so tiny you might as well not put any in there and the beef jerky tasted stale and chewy. Since we ordered so many starters we all shared the Bun bo Hue main course. It's a short rib with noodle soup. I would have to say this is the worst bun bo hue I've ever had in my life and for $24!! I've had the most amazing and authentic bun bo hue at other Vietnamese places and paid less than $10. The broth was not spicy and it was so watered down and very flavourless . Hardly any vegetables in it. The noodles were stale and broken like it was old noodles. I was not impressed. My daughters wanted dessert so we got the cassava cake and I think they heated it up in the microwave since the sides were hot and soft and the centre was so hard and cold like I was eating a rock. Do not get the cassava cake it was terrible, I've had better. All in all I was so disappointed in our meal. The reviews were so good I was so excited. For $150 after tax and tip you can get way better authentic Vietnamese food for a third of the cost!

Yelp
Dzo Viet Eatery is good if you want to try something new and different than traditional Vietnamese food. The food here is fusion and every dish tastes very different than their traditoinal counterpart. Some people like it, but it's just not for me. The Papaya Salad tasted like it was covered in soy sauce - very salty and odd-tasting. We asked for the beef jerky on the side (because I don't eat meat), and they didn't do that. Sizzling Oysters were covered in this weird-tasting thick, bright red sauce that had a bit of a kick and just tasted off in my opinion. There was barely any oyster meat on each shell... I couldn't really taste the oyster at all. Worst oysters I've ever had. The Claypot Rice didn't have the usual claypot rice quality where the rice has the char at the bottom. The Banh Mi Sliders had bread that was almost as hard as a rock. We also ordered the Vegan Dry Pho which was supposed to come with vegan beef, but they ran out and never told us. They substituted it with deep-fried tofu instead. I wish the Crispy Lemongrass Tofu in the Banh Mi Sliders and Vegan Dry Pho wasn't deep-fried. The oyster mushrooms in the Dry Pho were decent though (just wish they didn't put so much of the thick sweet sauce on them). All the dishes seemed to have one common ingredient: thick sweet and sticky sauce that made me wipe it off the food before I could eat it. There were also no fresh vegetables on the menu or incorporated into any of the dishes, except for the little shreds of lettuce and red cabbage in the Vegan Dry Pho. The rest were just pickled vegetables. The only things I liked in the dishes that we ordered were the hard-boiled egg in the Claypot Rice, and the soup that came with the Dry Pho. The ambience was great with the dark / low light, nice décor (such as the colourful lanterns hanging from the ceiling over the stairs, and giant bicycle on the wall), and great music (modern hipster vibe). Customer service was so-and-so... at times it was a bit hard to get the server's attention (and the restaurant wasn't even that full at that time). The table we sat at was quite dirty and sticky, with some dried food leftover from the previous patrons at the table that wasn't cleaned up. The washrooms were also not the cleanest.

Yelp
We went for dinner on a Tuesday night, so the restaurant was pretty empty. The lanterns and the lighting definitely make it a nice place to visit for drinks; the two drinks we ordered (Blue Orchid, Viet Café Martini) started things off well and had our expectations high. We ordered three items: the salted egg yolk snails, the pork belly claypot, and the Hanoi lemongrass beef. The snails were quite a task to eat, but the salted egg yolk sauce with the banh mi was tasty. The claypot was solid, and lemongrass beef was alright. The service was great; they were very patient and accommodating. They normally only make the Viet Café Martini in the bar section at the back, but they were happy to ask if it could be done (and it was done!). They also provided smaller toothpicks for the snails when they noticed that we were having some difficulty removing them. I would return for the drinks, the service, and the ambiance, but not for the food.

Yelp
Great food and friendly people. Love this spot and really cool party on the weekend. Reminds me of Vietnam night market. Absolutely beautiful

Danthanh L.

Yelp
Still a good spot but no longer as much of a favourite. I always order the tacos but now noticed they only give you 2 instead of 3. Also got seated but because we ended up being a smaller group, they moved us. They also spent 3 times trying to get the bill right for a group of 5 people.

Yelp
I was looking for a different brunch experience and came across this place on my search. I ordered the bahn khot mini pancakes and the egg coffee (hot of course, the only correct way to have it!). Flavor of these items were okay but really for the price point, the size is ridiculously small. Not in picture were viet coffee and bo ne viet steak and egg. The viet coffee had a weird unexplainable after taste so I wouldn't get that. The steak and egg was just so-so, nothing too special. Would i come back? Maybe... big maybe.

Yelp
Drinks- cocktail menu I heard was phenomenal. My friends ordered cocktails and would highly recommend. During my visit I opted for happy hour, they do have Blanche de chambly on tap. I also ordered a Sapporo. So if you want to take advantage of drink specials, come for happy hour!! Food- prior to coming I was eyeing so many different dishes I couldn't decide!! I ended up choosing the clay pot pork belly entree that comes with side rice. Yummy!! If you like pork belly they give a generous portion served with veggies and a whole egg. With a sweet, savoury sauced glaze, the pork belly is yummy! Some pieces did have a lot of fat, but it is pork belly... so... lol yum. My friend ordered supreme fries for the table and I would also recommend!! Crunchy, umami, creamy, slightly spicy drizzle with braised beef that was melt in your mouth worthy! Service- just okay, would definitely expect them to be a little more attentive with the table and perhaps check in more often -- especially that we were a group of about 8. Felt rushed towards end of the night as they kept pushing due to other reservation slot times (at least give us time...). FYI** - no split bills for groups over 6, $5 cake cutting fee PER PERSON** so consider this during bday lunches/dinners!! Overall - cozy environment, fusion Vietnamese food ~ if you're looking for a vibe, good food and ok service - recommend. But if you're looking for great Vietnamese food like pho, and vermicelli -- won't necessarily find that here.

Yelp
I got the chicken pho and I liked the flavor of the broth but I didn't like the chicken being on a stick. It was hard to take out but it wasn't bad. I liked how it was a little different from other restaurants with chicken pho.

Yelp
My colleagues and I had fresh rolls here for lunch. They were delicious. The peanut sauce was a little different from what I'm used to; it was darker and with a stronger taste. But I liked it. The prices are also very reasonable, but the portions are rather small. I left feeling hungry. Next time, I'll need to order more food.

Yelp
I've had some amazing bun bo hue and this one is pretty up there. The broth tastes so clean and flavourful, while the sparerib melts in your mouth. I honestly wish it was even a bit spicier, but the dish was just so well rounded. The ambience is awesome for a date or a fun night with friends. The music choice was phenomenal and the vibes were pretty good overall. Highly recommend this dish!!!

Yelp
Loved this place! The food was delicious. The service was great. The atomosphere was nice. Was here for Friday night dinner with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals. Will definitely come back. Many other options I want to try!! Great for date night as well!!! Must try!!!

Yelp
Came here with my best friend for a belated birthday dinner (mine!) and, having seen the beautiful Instagram photos and TikTok videos, was initially excited. However, I was slightly disappointed with the food - perhaps it was just what we ordered, but wasn't that great. That said, the interior is pretty cool and seems like a good place for friends to come and hang. We started off with two iced Vietnamese coffees and a Gòi Ðu Ðu (Papaya Salad). The coffee was good, albeit a touch too sweet. The papaya salad was... interesting. It may be because I'm more used to the Thai versions, but this was also super sweet. It tasted very carrot-y and the beef jerky was dry (I legitimately thought it was vegan jerky lol it had the same taste and mouthfeel). We then shared two mains - Mì Quàng (Turmeric Chicken Noodle) and the famous Pho khô Thit bò (dry pho with spiced beef). The dry pho tasted quite good. The soup on the side was savoury and comforting, while the beef skewers were cooked perfectly. However, the chicken noodle was a disappointment. It tasted like a super greasy chicken noodle soup, but of the unseasoned kind. Wasn't a fan... Overall, this place is interesting but pricey and not worth its value. Would probably not come again!

Yelp
FOOD | We came for dinner with a group of about 10. DZO was good with accustoming us! This restaurant has really pretty cocktails, so it would be a nice place to come to grab drinks and light snacks. I got the dau hu (crispy lemongrass tofu) Bahn mi sliders for $14. The tofu was good, but I'm unsure why the bahn mis were on ciabatta bread... The bread was super tough/hard to chew and the bread to filling ratio was pretty off. I don't think I even ate one half of the bread! I wouldn't recommend getting this dish. AMBIANCE | DZO definitely has their ambiance going for them! It's very pretty inside, and I would recommend coming at night because their lanterns and lighting ambiance is nicest at night. SERVICE | Service was good, they were really great with accommodating such a large group of people! VERDICT | Wouldn't personally come again, but if you're looking for a nice vibe-y spot serving Asian fusion, this may be a good spot to check out!

Yelp
Modern take on Vietnamese dishes. Tasty food overall. The space is low-lit and sets a certain ambiance. Would like to try more of their dishes in the future.

Yelp
Enjoyable and high quality viet style dishes, at the expense of traditional taste. Came to Dzo yesterday for a quick dinner with friends and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Upon entry and looking at the menu, I could tell this place wouldn't be a run of the mill Viet spot and would feature some twists on common dishes. I'm not usually a fan of restaurants like this, but I would be welcomed to returning here again. Our party started with the spring rolls, wasn't mind blowing but I would easily recommend these as a great starter. I must also mention that servers were nice and food got brought out very quick. I myself ordered the Bun Bo Hue for my main and I am very conflicted. The quality of the rib and tofu were excellent, with the rib being incredibly tender. My gripe with my dish and overall all of the dishes we tried, was that they all felt like they were missing something in the taste department in comparison to a traditional viet restaurant. But I cannot let that change the review as you are coming here for a somewhat twist on Viet food (i.e. their viet poutine dish). Overall, Dzo offers a unique viet dining experience, accompanied by a mellow and cool ambiance.

Yelp
It's not the best BBH or pho I've had, but it gets the job done if you have a soup craving. BBH wasn't spicy and didn't have the typical condiments like shrimp paste and chili oil. I would get their pho vs BBH if I had to choose. I would say def come here for their apps and main entrees. I enjoyed their snails that was marinated in a flavorful sauce to dip your banh mi in. I also appreciate their vegan/vegetarian options, making dining with friends with food restrictions easier! The restaurant was decorated nicely and I liked how spacious it is, so it's great for large parties.

Yelp
The atmosphere is so fun and the decorations are really cool. The dishes look beautiful and are very intricate. But the food isn't amazing. I would rather go somewhere uglier but the food is better. Although the staff was helpful when I asked about the menu.
