We had a good stay at Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya! The hotel offers some fantastic perks that made our visit comfortable and convenient. The onsen was a real highlight—a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The hot spring bath was clean, relaxing, and a great way to rejuvenate. We also loved the beverage and snack room available for 1,000 yen per person; it had a nice selection of drinks and snacks, ideal for a quick recharge between adventures. The coin laundry machines were super handy, and the ability to ship luggage made our departure so much easier—especially since we could travel light during our stay.||The location is prime, right between Harajuku and Shibuya, so you’re within walking distance of both areas.||The staff was friendly and helpful, always happy to provide recommendations or assist with any questions. The hotel’s amenities were top-notch, with free Wi-Fi, a comfortable lounge area, and a variety of facilities that made our stay enjoyable.||The downside, however, was the beds—they were really hard. Unfortunately, we woke up sore every morning, which was a bit uncomfortable for our group. Another issue we noticed was the area beside the hotel—it seemed to either be a homeless encampment or junkyard, which wasn’t the most pleasant sight, especially when coming and going from the hotel. Additionally, the room wasn’t cleaned adequately upon arrival, which gave me the ick. The bed was also quite tiny, making it a bit challenging to sleep comfortably and move about.

Hard to beat the location. 5min to Harajuku Village, 15min to Shibuya crossing, few stations with a bus to Shinjuku. Rooms are nice but small, so if you travel with a more than 2x suitcase your space in room will be very limited, also cleaning is every 3 days (you do get new towels every day). Onsen is great, literally life saviour after all day of walking. Late night ramen at the restaurant tastes great, and the chef is amazing. Reception staff super polite, but some of them need to improve their English skills. Be aware, if you book room next to the train tracks it might get bit noisy, soundproofing is good but still you might not be able to sleep, on the other hand trains stop working at 00:30. Overall, this was our 4th time staying at Dormy Inn, and yes we would stay here again 😊

I recently stayed at Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya Jingumae and found it to be a delightful experience that met my expectations for accommodations in Tokyo. Room: As is typical in Japan, the room was compact but efficiently designed and well-maintained. I was fortunate to be assigned a room away from the train tracks, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep without any noise disturbances. Onsen: The hotel’s small onsen was a delightful addition, providing a relaxing space to unwind after a day of exploring Tokyo. The facility was clean and well-maintained, offering a traditional Japanese bathing experience. Breakfast: The breakfast offered a variety of Japanese and Western options. The quality and selection were impressive, providing a great start to the day. Location: The hotel is conveniently situated between Shibuya and Harajuku stations, making it easy to access various parts of the city. It’s within walking distance to popular attractions like Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine, as well as numerous dining and shopping options. Additional Amenities: Dormy Inn offers several complimentary perks that enhance the stay, including free late-night ramen, morning yogurt drinks, and ice cream. These thoughtful touches contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya Jingumae provides a comfortable and convenient stay with excellent amenities. It’s an ideal choice for travelers seeking quality accommodations in a prime Tokyo location.

Very very small rooms. Only good for 2 people with small luggage. If your travelling with a child don't even think about it. Difficult to fit 3 people in the room. The bed is smaller than a regular queen size one. You can hardly open one luggage at a time. Great location, good cleaning and onsen.

We had a lovely first two nights in Japan staying here. The hotel is in a great location with much of Shinjuku within walking distance. The hotel is tucked one block back from the busy street so is quiet from traffic noise, but it is near the rail line, however the sound proofing and air conditioning are good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beds are fairly comfy. Would stay again.

Google
This place is swanky but the beds are FIRM, the pillows suck. After walking 180 miles in three weeks the bed was the worst we had in Japan but the onsen was nice (unless you have tattoos-not allowed) the free snacks nice, the late night ramen nice (but not the best tasting). Gps doesn't know how to give good directions from this hotel but if you can ignore that it's in a pretty good location. Also you will hear every train that goes by... So be exhausted and you will sleep.

Reception area very welcoming. We were soon in the lift up to our second floor beautifully presented room- and on the floor where the hot baths/ onsen is located. Inside the room you can check on a special tv inhouse channel on how crowded the womens or mens areas are during any of the extensive opening hours. There are rules of etiquette to follow in the baths that ensures everyone enjoys the experience. This is also explained on the room tv. Comfortable pyjamas and footwear is provided for wearing in the onsen. After your hot bath you can have a treat provided to enhance your feeling of wellbeing|The room was comfortable and an extra pillow as well as plenty of towels were freely supplied. Top quality soaps and lotions in eco friendly pumps were provided. In the onsen there were wonderful provisions for drying your hair and lockers for your things|The Inn is in a quiet street but a short walk from the train station|We would definitely stay at the Dormy Premiere Inn Shibuya again

Tiny room, but high-quality freebees. There's an in-room toilet and shower, but take advantage of the ofuro (the women's was hardly ever used) and sauna. The food is great, the water pressure is heavenly, and the location is ideal -- close to Harajuku and Shibuya, but removed enough to be quiet.

Yelp
When I visited Tokyo, my husband and I stayed at a few hotels in different sections of the city to properly experience the different Tokyo wards: Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Taito; we were trying to just walk everywhere, Uber rides are pretty affordable here too. This specific Dormy was clean and very quiet despite being right next to train tracks. The rooms are not very big, but it was still very comfortable. If we had had larger luggage, it would have been a bit of a squeeze. Dormy offers you a lounge set and slippers should you need pajamas or just some comfy clothes to relax in. In our room, the front door leads directly to your room safe, sink, small drink fridge and a small area to hang up a few clothing items. The sleeping/bed chamber is located behind a sliding door where there are two twin beds, a small seating area and wall mounted TV. The beds are simple, there's a small pillow and a fluffy comforter. I was skeptical about the pillow being supportive, but we had the best sleep. The toilet is behind another door and within the water closet, is a door leading to the shower/tub. The water pressure was great and it heated up very quickly. We didn't sign up for the daily breakfast nor checked out the offerings during happy hour, but there's a convenience store(s) nearby, if you are in need of snacks, etc. I would definitely stay here again. It's basic, but this Dormy has everything we needed.

Yelp
GREAT LOCATION! Lots of cool places to shop and use the train within walking distance, such as: Shibuya Crossing - 10min walk Takeshita Street & Harajuku Station - 10min walk Metro Plaza leading into Shibuya Station - 6min walk ----- My bad, didn't take photos of this place because I totally forgot. I got a double, non-smoking room and it's pretty small but we made it work for 2 people with a suitcase each. We were only there to sleep and shower, so it worked out. The room was very clean and neat, and so was the entire hotel. They have washers and dryers to clean your clothes if you need to and there is also an onsen. Tattoos are not allowed. It looked like there was a breakfast offered every morning, but I didn't ask about it so I'm not sure if it's extra (most likely is). Location was actually pretty great. Close to shopping, food and Starbucks. About a 15-20min walk to the Shibuya Crossing and 10min walk to the closest subway/train station. Love that it was just far away enough to be away from all the noise too!

Yelp
This hotel is down a little alley that is difficult to find unless you are using your GPS. The restaurant serves a decent breakfast that is ¥1800 per person. Good choices of meat, fruit, salad, omelet and French toast. Breakfast is from 6:45 to 9:30. They also serve a complimentary small bowl of ramen from 9:30-11 that is tasty but not needed if you eat a decent dinner. To get out of the station, we always took the Hachiko exit, walked around the building to the right to the corner by BiC camera, and then crossed the street. You do have to take one pedestrian bridge/stairs or do a small walk around by the Nikori building. Rooms were clean, spa was a little small for soaking but it had 8 stalls for washing. There is a free washer in each of the make and female spa areas - free to wash and ¥100 to dry. You will need a code to get into the female spa - front desk will let you know once you check in. We had a superior twin room with two twin beds and a couch. A small desk, coffee and tea, and a little refrig. Bedding was comfortable, beds are firm but pillows are a bit flat. There is a pillow "library" that you can borrow different pillows from - feather, beans or some others. Perfect! Comforter is ultra comfortable and spotlessly clean. Other amenities include a daily bottle of water, plastic brush, ear buds, and a toothbrush every day. For shower caps, a hair band or cotton pads - go to the 2nd floor onsen. The walls are thick and you can't hear the train though it runs gut next to the hotel. The hotel is halfway between Shibuya and Harajuku station. A taxi from the hotel to the new South Gate (for Narita Express) can be found by flagging down a taxi on the main road. Cost was ¥500 - worth it to not have to walk with a suitcase. Or pay ¥920 and the hotel will call and reserve a taxi for you. My family had to catch a taxi early in the morning and at peak time - 6:30 am - from Dormy Inn Shibuya to Shinagawa. Flat cost for a large taxi was ¥4000.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Tokyo. This location is between Harajuku Station and Shibuya Station. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the station, which is a bit long when you've been walking all day seeing the sights. The bathhouse was nice and has a hot and cold bath. Yes, you have to go in naked but they separate the baths by sex. I particularly liked that they has a free washer and a dryer for 100 yen for 20 minutes. So if you plan on staying at 3 hotels like we did, this was perfect for the in-between hotel to do cheap laundry. That way you don't have to pack so much clothes! I've read that there used to be complimentary breakfast, but that is no longer the case. I would rather eat elsewhere if I have to pay for breakfaat in a hotel. There is, however, free ramen from 9pm to 11pm each night. It won't taste like Ichiran, but it's a good late night snack if you're hungry after the hot bath. There is also a free shuttle each morning to the Shibuya station. This was definitely a great perk to save on some walking. I wished they offered it all day, but they don't. You have to make a reservation the day before in order to utilize this. The room is comfortable, the AC can get very cold. There is an empty fridge that can freeze your water bottles and they give you 2 free waters per day. They offer slippers and clothes you can wear for the bathhouse or to sleep in. They make it very homey, or dormy. There are trains that come by but they're not that loud. It does affect the wifi everytime the train comes by. I may stay again only for the washer and dryer.

Yelp
If you're not willing or able to spend the big bucks on the larger chain hotels, and you want to stay in Shubiya/Harajuku area, look no further friends. I love nice hotels. They are such a splurge, and worth it in every way, but sadly, I can't afford the life of luxury that I so desire. I need just enough at a good price. Sound like you? Stop what you are doing and book here then. Everything about the hotel is 5 stars. From the sauna, hot tub, spa area downstairs, to the buffet breakfast to the staff and most importantly, the location. Honestly, just a short walk to both the Shibuya neighborhood and the Harajuku 'hood. Think: all the shopping and all the food. Not only that, but 2 different subway lines are at your disposal. So, any problems at all? Yes, but the great outweighs the average. - The room is teeny, but they maximize space so well.. but, it's tiny. Beds are hard, but again... a Japan thing? - Breakfast buffet. This was included in our rate and for free it's awesome. So many options, both Japanese and Western style. However, the Ritz it is not. A solid offering to fill the belly before heading out to fill the belly more, but nothing mind blowing. Oh, yes... late night ramen! I didn't partake, but they offer free ramen from 9-11pm. How great is that? I did a ton of research and for the price, Dormy Inn will not disappoint.

Yelp
This was the first hotel I booked during my Japan trip planning. While it was a bit of a walk from the JR Line, especially when you're lugging around two full-size suitcases, I did enjoy the perks from staying at this place. 1. Ramen snack at 9 pm. It's not your typical put-hot-water-in-Top-Ramen-container. Their kitchen cooks ramen with some toppings in a bowl for you. So so good! Only one per person though! =/ 2. Breakfast is included with your stay! You get a choice of Western or Japanese. BF got one type while I got the other. Both are delicious! 3. Massages here are such a deal. It was about $50 USD for an hour and it was honestly the best message I ever had. Strong consistent pressure throughout the entire massage. Very relaxing. 4. Relative proximity of Shibuya and Harajuku and all your shopping needs. Kiddy Land and Hello Kitty store are just some of the places within walking distance. When I'm back in Japan again, Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya Jingumae will be on my list of places to stay! I miss the massages and food already!

Yelp
Great budget hotel. Not much pricier than APA, for example, and worth the extra money. The spa did not disappoint; lots of stalls, nice sauna, and big tub. The room did the job (standing shower) with a good bed and free bottled water. Its size will only bum out those unfamiliar with Japanese lodging. The pillow was too hard, but there's a pillow "library" on the second floor with myriad options. The staff was very friendly, and saved my butt as I left my Osaka apartment key in my room after checking out. Yes, it's a bit of a walk: 10 minutes from Shibuya or Harajuku stations. And it's not a "posh" location. But I really enjoyed my stay and recommend it.

Yelp
I booked this for location and based on reading a ton of reviews. Staff spoke decent English, great breakfast and late night soba noodles! A bonus (though we didn't use it) were the bikes you can borrow free for 2 hours followed by a reasonable hourly fee and we got a free shuttle to Shibuya station which was very helpful because of our heavy luggage. Room was ok, pretty standard clean rooms and cozy, note you will not be able to fully open the 2 large luggage at the same time unless you put one on the bed. This location was quite central to what we wanted to see and we had a comfortable stay.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
$225 USD per night for a hotel room that feels more like a cruise ship cabin. The room barely fits a hard double bed with a small space to put your luggage but nothing else. The AC barely works so try not to come when it's hot season. We had it on 20' the entire time but the room still felt hot. I guess all hotels in Tokyo are small and expensive but don't expect anything "nice" here. Our hotels.com package included daily breakfast which was just okay as well. Mix of Japanese and American breakfast items.

Yelp
My stay at Dormy Inn was pretty fantastic. This particular hotel is located in between Shibuya Station and Harajuku/Meijijingumae station. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from either station though the hotel is slightly closer to Harajuku Station. It's a medium-sized hotel and the room I stayed in featured a queen bed. The actual decor is quite modern, though a bit on the small side. The one issue I had with the room arrangement was that the sliding door between the bathroom/sink area and the bed features a semi-translucent window, meaning I had to wash my hands in the dark so I wouldn't wake my partner up. We had a view.. of a cemetery. Needless to say, we didn't look out the windows very much, but it didn't really hinder the experience at all and we knew that this was a possibility going in. There's an public bath located on the 2nd floor, separated by gender. The one I went to wasn't busy, though somewhat oddly, they put a bunch of cut lemons into the bath. It was a nice smell, but not something I've seen done before. For breakfast, there's a Western and Japanese selection each day. Food was great. There's also ramen service at night, which I didn't try. This is also complementary. Wi-fi was reliable.

Michael N.

Yelp
Also known as the Hotel Dormy Inn, this is a great budget hotel for any traveller. Located down a back street, don't let the looks deceive you, this is a great location. It is walking distance from Shibuya station and a few other subway stations. They also have a complimentary shuttle should you be traveling with a lot of bags. In addition, the service was impeccable. The morning breakfast was excellent offering either western style or Japanese style options. At night they offer a ramen bar. For the inexperienced traveller, be forewarned that the rooms are very very small. If you are traveling with more than two people and expect to sleep here comfortably, think again. My wife and I found it to be a great option though. I would definitely stay here again.

Lia A.

Yelp
Great breakfast with good green tea and lots of variety. Excellent location. The clean rooms are tiny! It's a little cramped for a stay longer than 3-4 days but the perks are good and the staff is friendly, polite helpful. I didn't use the onsen but it's nice that it's available. They provide pjs and bed slippers. The water pressure is good. It's a ten minute walk to the famous Shibuya Crossing.

Fabien-Pierre N.

Yelp
First, kudos on the awesome Western + Japanese breakfast buffet. Then it's very quiet despite the location, you will sleep well. Finally the bed quality is top notch = even better for your sleep.

Danielle M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very friendly. In addition, the breakfast buffet and the late night ramen was delicious! We were even able to rent their motor assisted bikes for free and enjoyed a bike ride through Shibuya at night. If you are looking for a place to stay in Shibuya, definitely check this place out!

Tess A.

Yelp
This far exceeded my expectations. Was small but not suffocatingly so. It was bigger than some of the other places I had seen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was super clean. Loved the spa and the electric bicycles. And the location was great. Would definitely stay again.
