"D.O.M. The D.O.M., which opened in late 2013, is a five-star boutique hotel in the heart of Rome ’s historic center. Originally built as a 17 th -century noble palace, the property was subsequently converted into a monastery, then Ministry of Justice offices. Its current design, which blends architectural elements from its previous uses, was entrusted to architect Antonio Girardi, who has seamlessly married Renaissance reverence and modern design. Thanks to the previous ecclesiastical incarnation, rooms are intimate and many have low ceilings. Dark gray and brown hues mingle with velveteen, brick, and wood, creating a cavernous feel in the ground-floor common areas, which contrast with the bright and open rooftop terrace and its views over Rome’s Renaissance quarter and across the river to Trastevere . On the ground floor, a small reception area precedes the hotel bar and restaurant, as well as a small enclosed terrace."

The hotel is in a great location within walkable distance of many attractions. It’s also around the corner from 3 top restaurants! Rooms were well equipped and comfortable. But the highlight of our stay were the staff who are all exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. We felt very welcome and didn’t want to leave.

This is not just a review but a thank you to the staff of DOM Hôtel, especially Florencia and Martina! This is my second stay and I loved it more than my first time. The location is beautifully authentic, walking distance from beautiful sites. The team is so welcoming and warm! They’d go out of their way to take care of you. Thank you so much for taking care of me and making my trip to Rome memorable. 🤍🤍

We love s neighborhood so we chose this hotel and we were so happy we did. Location obviously was perfect. Staff was young, eager to assist in anyway and so very pleasant. Breakfast was very nice with little treats every morning. I don’t like mixed fruit cups and every morning I asked for melon and was given a large bowl of delicious melon. My husband had eggs and was happy. Room was great and bed was big and comfortable. Would go back again!

This is a real gem, nice 5 star boutique hotel. Most friendly staff we have ever experienced. Location is superb, lots of great restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

Google
well located. walking distance to many locations. hotel room nice but quite small. great bed and pillows. rooftop bar was nice space but never open during my 3 day stay. dining area nice but very limited hours of operation and severely understaffed. reception crew was excellent and very accommodating. bar space was nice but severely understaffed and largely unattended. very difficult to get a beverage. when staff did show up they were almost surly. like rude.

Google
Absolutely pleasant stay with no issues. The hotel is on a quiet street, right across from the anti terrorism police station!||Breakfast was a nice spread in the morning. Rooms are standard size for Europe, and bathrooms are quite nice and modern. Front desk was always nice. We needed an iron one day, and they were quick to get us one. ||No complaints about this hotel.

Potential guests beware: This hotel is in a narrow alleyway directly across from a government anti-mafia building. There were police with machine guns directly outside the hotel's front door. Inside wasn't much better. The hotel was tiny and dark. The hallways smelled badly. The rooms look nice on the website, but the furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. The nightstand was stained. The paint was chipped and peeling (and had turned yellow) and the bathroom was dark and unattractive. There were several holes in the wall. The manager argued the building was historic. We have stayed in plenty of historic hotels around the world. They were well-maintained and attractive; this one was not. Though the manager was combative and refused to provide a refund for our two-night stay, we chose to leave immediately. Worst hotel experience we've had in many years of traveling to Italy.

I've stayed at DOM Hotel twice now. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is extremely helpful and polite, and it is within easy walking distance of many attractions. Only thing I would note is don't leave your bags outside for any reason at all. The Anti-Mafia guys don't like that one bit.

Yelp
Well, first and foremost let me just say I did not have the opportunity to stay at this hotel. As a result of a cancellation issue with Travelocity, my troubles were interrupted. After canceling my original dates with Travelocity for Dom hotel Roma I later found out that it was not done correctly. As a result Dom hotel went ahead and charged my credit card. Despite the request for a refund and explanation of the situation the hotel refused to refund our account. This placing us in a severe hardship and despite explanation after explanation management of the hotel has not refunded our funds. Very upset and disappointed in such a well-known establishment.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! We stayed right down the street at the Hotel Indigo and noticed the sign for the Achilli bar while walking to dinner one night. To be fair, I first noticed the champagne sign, and then noticed the bar. The Achilli bar is a super cozy, trendy space with velvet couches and stools and amazing wildlife photography. We were the only ones at the bar on a Thursday night after 10pm and felt so lucky to have such delicious cocktails from Luca. We were warmly welcomed and offered an extensive cocktail list. I wanted a white wine, and Luca suggested a delicious one: Bric Amel from Langhe, marchesi in Barolo. Simply stunning and I will forever search for it. Hubby ordered an old fashioned, which Luca made with extreme care. Luca is a true barman, intent on perfecting his craft to offer his patrons the very best. Hubby proclaimed it the best old fashioned he had ever had; I think it was the ripeness of the Italian orange that made it so special. From there, as they specialize in sparkling wine, I wanted my fave, a kir royale. Luca apologizes - no creme de cassis - but I suggest using Chambord instead. Luca uses ice in the wine glass, which is a first I've seen for a kir. With the same great care, he mixes my kir and it results in the best kir royale I've ever had, even in Paris. We felt so lucky to find this quiet gem tucked away on the Via Giulia. Luca was fascinating to talk to and he loved swapping stories with us regarding bourbon and the moonshine they have on offer from my Tennessee homeland (note: he swore he only uses it to "dazzle" a cocktail - just a drop or two!). When we return to Rome, we will ensure we spend every evening getting a nightcap at Achilli!!!!

Yelp
After learning that I Sofà was completely booked, we walked down the street wishing we could find another rooftop place for dinner, not just drinks. Lo and behold, one block away, we found Achilli at the top of the Dom. What a great place! The service was excellent, it was not crowded, the rooftop atmosphere was cozy and rustic but beautiful. The food was very good- we had the canelloni Ragu and the shrimp ravioli. Portions were not too big and not too small. Great pairing of wine. I reserve my five star for views of famous buildings and huge platters of homemade gnocchi, but this came close!

Yelp
I am in awe of this hotel. Beautifully appointed, excellent location, wonderful and chic rooftop bar, and thoughtful accommodations to meet each detail a traveller would ask. The rooms are spacious, spotless and modern. But the true measure of a hotel is its staff. The concierges were unbelievably thoughtful experts and welcoming. Amazing chef and service for multiple meals enjoyed in the lovely dining room and gorgeous roof top bar. The door staff, cleaning staff, everyone was gracious and seemed to take great pride in working for D.O.M. and I am happy to have been such a well-treated guest.

Yelp
This hotel is a treasure. It is beautifully appointed and in one if the nicest parts of Rome. The Rooms are comfortable and the services all function immaculately. The staff are delightful. I look forward to being able to stay again

Yelp
Spent one night here with my family. The place is so beautiful and has really cool decor. Sort of on the pricey side. But your paying for what it's worth. We will defiantly return.

Yelp
Amazing small luxury hotel. Built in the 1400's, it was once part of a church. Has the vibe of an elegant small hotel (18 rooms I believe). Staff was terrific. The hotel has a Michelin trained chef who had a soft opening while we were there ... an gastronomic feast and pleasure.

Yelp
We give DOM 4,5 star. Very nice design and perfectly situated in a calm street at walking distance to everything. The beds comfort are super. The roofgarden were closed for the season, but yet open to use during the day. Nice breakfast, but to improve it, it could have some new things in different days when you stay four days, as we did,. Otherwise nice staff that came up with suggestions of good restaurants when we asked. Overall we recommend DOM Hotel to everyone that enjoys lovely hotels. Claes CG

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in the heart of historic Rome. Although it's a little off the beaten path, this hotel doesn't disappoint. From the very beginning until we checked out, Linda was exceptionally warm and helpful. Every question and need was attended to. The room designs are so unique, covered with history on every wall, but also modern and comfortable. All the great sites are a convenient walk. We've stayed in many great hotels in Rome, but this is now our favorite. The combination of location and room quality, but especially of the staff -- in particular Linda -- is the reason why. Thanks to everybody at the hotel for a great stay.

Yelp
This is an exquisite hotel and as we learned, also has a lot of history! Linda at the front desk was terrific and I wish I could remember the young man who was exceeding helpful in everything else. He helped us get a connection to our phones in the room (at this point, we had stayed at multiple hotels and there was typically a usb in our room so it was never an issue). We think Linda lent us her personal charger because the hotels wasn't working for us. The breakfast was great! Our room was beautiful, every detail in the design and the comfort of the beds exceptional. We were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco. And they helped us with dinner plans. My only regret was that the restaurant and bar were closed and so was the roof top terrace. We were looking forward to that. And for people who have a hard time seeing, you may want to add a makeup mirror with a light. My only suggestion for improving the room! Overall, wonderful!

Yelp
Wonderful experience at the DOM Hotel. Great location. We had a junior suite and the rooms were beautiful We were greeted with a wonderful bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The staff beautifully dressed and very accommodating. We were only there for 2 days so did not experience dinner, but the Continental breakfast with fresh fruit and croissants was very good. - The only reason we did not give it 5 stars is because the lighting was very dim and we couldn't get the TV's to work. Also, it's across from the antimafia bureau so there was a young man with a machine gun standing guard during the day. Safe!
