On the Grid : Dolcezza

"Dolcezza’s gelato follows old recipes, but is filled with the freshest ingredients. The shop takes pride in sourcing its ingredients locally, and the flavor profile benefits greatly from it. Take a break from a hot day with one of their visually rich gelatos, or warm up in the winter with an earthy cup of joe from their partner, Stumptown Coffee Roasters." - Friendly Design Co.

What a gem! We were in the area looking for something sweet after dinner and were lucky enough to find Dolcezza. The atmosphere and staff were top shelf, but the gelato was the star here. All four flavors we tried (two flavors in a small) were outstanding! If you’re anywhere near Dupont Circle, find this place and go there without delay!

Nice quiet place for a coffee. Stopped in for our morning coffee before starting the day. This was a good choice! The staff were friendly, informative and quick. We ordered the Dulce De Leche and Pumpkin Spice Latte (w/ oat milk). The presentation was good and the taste was even better.

Lovely coffee shop but $5.20 for a croissant?? Seriously? The coffee is great, the service is lovely and the atmosphere is friendly. I found the palce to be a bit expensive but it's probably average by DC standards and the place was quite busy, so kudos to them on that.

Yummy ice cream! The team members working were engaging and helpful. We tried a couple flavors, then went for the plum, coconut dulce de leche, hazelnut, and cookie flavors - all were really good. The ambiance is calming and cute. Lots of people stopped in for ice cream, so it’s a convenient location when walking around the area. I highly recommend!

Great staff. Griff and Will really did a good job hosting our real estate company for a fun event this week. Loved the Americano and all of our clients loved the various flavors of gelato. We will definitely be back. The place is small yet charming with a communal table and seating to look out and view the foot traffic and buzz of the City.

GEM! Stopped in on a very hot DC day (90+ degrees!) and this cone was exactly what I needed. I got a small with two scoops: blueberry lavender and black & white cookie batter… on a sugar cone. The flavors were super creamy and interesting without being too sweet. Preferred the black and white cookie. Ended up needing a cup because the melt was real, but hey, not their fault on one of the hottest days of the year. The shop itself is adorable with exposed brick, cozy counter seating, and a solid coffee setup too if you’re craving more than gelato. Loved that the flavor board had unique combos like pineapple honey lime and roasted strawberry. Perfect for a solo sweet treat or a cute spot to wrap up a date. Will definitely be back to try more flavors!

An awesome small coffee and gelato spot. While in DC, I stopped in for my daily latte and almond croissant. The coffee was excellent and the croissant was heavenly. I was able to sit at a community table and enjoy my coffee and croissant. The staff was super helpful and efficient.

I love this coffee shop! The staff is so kind and always greets me with a warm welcome. Shout out to Ceci and Emily! The only thing I’m bummed about it is they’ve double their prices in the last year. An ice latte w/ oat milk for $9 is a bit wild even for DC standards. Still a great spot though, I just hope the owners consider making it a bit more affordable.
