Dog & Fox (Hotel)

I’ve stayed here multiple times now. Rooms are comfortable and sound insulation is quite good. Well stocked with snacks, comfy beds and linen. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. The pub downstairs is really handy. It’s a fun location because you can enjoy all that the Village has to offer. WiFi is a bit slow, bathrooms sometimes smell.

One of the best little weekend escapes we’ve had in a long time. The room was exceptional and the food was outstanding, but what really stood out was the service and hospitality. Phill and the team were incredibly engaging and made a real effort with our two young children — from menu recommendations to simply making us feel genuinely welcome. We’ll definitely be back, especially with so much to see and do in the village.

The Dod and Fox is a hidden gem and the the staff are very accommodating you going out of their way to make you happy. |The rooms are clean with all that is needed and we loved that a delicious hot breakfast was included in our room rate. |The beds are hard so if you like a softer feel ask for a mattresses topper. It made all the difference! |They can also book a car service to and from the airport which is nice. I loved the towel warmers!

I know the Dog and Fox very well but had never stayed in the hotel. It was a great decision, a beautifully comfortable bed, spacious and clean room . Breakfast was also excellent with multiple choices of continental and traditional dishes on offer. All cooked dishes were prepared to order and piping hot. My stand out part of the visit were the staff, highly trained, cheerful and helpful. In the bar, restaurant and reception they didn’t fail to impress. I have to also mention housekeeping , although I didn’t see them it was obvious they were working hard in the background to create a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be back .

I was a little worried staying a a pub, something I’ve never done before, but the room was clean and well maintained and you couldn’t hear the bar from the room. Pub itself has good food, warm atmosphere and excellent food. We had the mackerel and chicken schnitzel. Both were excellent. The crumble for desert was exceptional. Highly recommended.

An absolutely incredible experience at The Dog and Fox Hotel. I've been to the pub many times over the years, but never had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel as I usually visit during the time the Tennis is on and prices are way out of my budget and it's usually booked up anyway. I was visiting The All England Club for a function so I decided to book a stay at the hotel and WOW, what can I say! The first thing was I was able to check in early which was very helpful for me as I had to get ready for a function but the real icing on the cake - I was upgraded to a suite room without even asking! The room was absolutely incredible, even if I'd have paid full price it would definitely been worth it. It was clean, spacious and the bath was a great luxury to have! I honestly couldn't complain about anything in there. Staff were also helpful and attentive and I couldn't fault their service. The only thing I'll say is that the snacks opposite the bed are NOT complimentary but that was my fault for not reading the sheet in front of them saying "take what you want and you'll be charged for what you take" thankfully I realised before I splurged even more 🤣. Thanks to all the team for a great stay.

Arrogant staff and no space for drinking customers. Bar staff avoided eye contact and then left the bar after serving an order. We waited for over 20 mins to be served. It was a Friday night, I get that, but if you have two-third of the place reserved for food ordering customers or dinners and the upper area of the bar area reserved for a party and many of the remaining tables reserved, there were no space for anyone else, who were treated like 2nd class citizens. A member of staff was quicker and very abruptly in pointing out where we couldn’t sit than clearing the table (reserved for food ordering customers but was filled with dirty glasses and crisp packets, which was empty the whole time we were there).

I stayed at the Dog &Fox Christmas Eve and Christmas night as I was visiting my daughter and her family in Wimbledon Park . I had my little dog with me, we stayed in Room 12 and could nt have been more pleased . The room was comfortable, the bed especially. It was very clean and the bathroom just perfect. Was very taken with the doggie welcome box and bowl too. Being Christmas there was a lovely happy friendly atmosphere from both the staff in all areas . Have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and centrally situated for the town and walks on the Common!
