"Coffee and art Part third-wave coffee shop, part gallery, Distrikt is a great spot to enjoy high quality coffee as well as discover local up-and-coming artists. The exposed brick walls are perfect backgrounds for the rotating displays of artwork, as well as the café’s regular events, which include stand-up comedy evenings and even small operas. As well as locally-roasted coffee blends, you can also find whole-leaf teas and a brunch menu with antipodean influences."

"Cafes in Mitte can sometimes feel like they're catering to business clientele or tourists, but Distrikt is a locals-only gem, and its free Wi-Fi makes it a good place to catch up on emails and fuel up before exploring. If you like your espresso bitter, this is the place for you. The espresso beans come courtesy of Berlin’s Fjord Coffee Roasters and make their way into any number of frothy or straight black options, all served in elegant porcelain cups." - Eliot Stein

Google
4.4* is about right for this über cöol café. It's a vibe as calming as camomile and as earthy as dirty chai. So, that's a great start. The service is puppy friendly and berlin confident, so that works too. The coffee is well made, but a little thin and bitter. I didn't get to examine the beans. I'll head back for an espresso to get micro. The toast was lovely, and if the abundant chervil had tasted like chervil, we'd be talking 5* with all kinds of bullets. Not their fault. Even having chervil is exciting in this stättle. The broccoli was seared, not charred? Small point, big difference in the flavour stakes. The avocado was good, which a local tells me is as rare as chervil. Fennel fronds aren't as pretty, but perhaps make the twist they're aiming for. The dressings could be more positive too. Overall though, it's a pleasant enough item...if pleasant enough is what you're up for. The pumpkin spice cake follows suit. A well thought theough and constructed surprisingly light frosting sits on top of a somewhat spiced cake that needs to be more about the butter. And a little less time in the oven if it doesn't get a mid bake dose of spiced melted butter, then this would take it up a step or 4. These are solid prices, so I've judged finikitively. But it's a solid place.

Google
So i love this shop i am a weekly customer here Saturday and Sunday as always but the food quality is going down from 2 years until today its getting worse the french toast is burned so the burned bread tastes it must more powerful than the sweetness a new employee served us she was mean and with a poker face normally me and my wife love this shop employees from the blond girl to the other one with a snake tattoo they are both amazing and they are the soul of this shop hope the owners improve these problems so we can stay being a customer maybe until next week i hope i will change my Review

Google
Best avocado toast I had in Berlin! I would definitively recommend the avocado toast, it’s the best one I had, the combination of flavors was just spectacular. Some charred broccoli, peanuts and spicy oil with avocado, just delicious. They have a lot of great pastries and high quality coffee including filter coffee. I would definitively recommend, fantastic service and ambience, a must when in Berlin!

Cool spot full of activity, latte was nice smooth, staff friendly however chocolate vegan cake was okayish. Still recommend a visit next time need to hit avocado toast.

Google
My friend and I came here for breakfast before a flight last week. All the staff were lovely. I had the avocado with eggs and that peanut chilli oil should be illegal, it was that good. My friend also enjoyed her shakshouka and the coffee was on point. Quite sad we only found it on the last day. I’d recommend.

Google
delicious, filling, and flavourful avocado toast with an additional poached egg, paired with chai latte. would recommend this place situated in a calm neighborhood, and great service. :))

Google
They have a great vibe and a cool place. Their coffee is excellent, and the French toast with blueberries and ricotta on top is amazing.

Google
Great atmosphere 💫 had brunch on a Sat morning and waited 1 hour to be served unfortunately. Food was delicious 🥑

Yelp
Great coffee and brunch stop! Nice it's outside the main touristy area but still close to get to by public transport. The food was on point! The best French toast I've had in a while and the Bodega was an amazing breakfast sandwich if you want spicy/salty breakfast. Perfect to get the pair if sharing with someone else. Flat white was so good too! Got one to go in addition. Also, the staff was so nice! They even offer seats inside to wait in the winter. Service was fast but you can also relax as long as you want! Loved it!!!

Yelp
A 5/10 or 6/10. We ordered avocado on sourdough toast with two poached eggs for 13€ and spicy merguez sausage and chickpeas ragou with poached egg for 12€. Both are overpriced. The bread was hard and dry. Not crunchy enough. The presentation was nice was price was too high. The chickpea taste like a Bolognese on toast and the avocado toast was great but somehow lacked in flavor or intensity. We missed something special, whether it's a slight lemony or garlicky taste. Something was missing. The portion is great but for 13€ overpriced. The smoothie was light and not too sweet. For 6.50€ green was slightly overpriced as well. Overall pretty ok place. They get their pastries from albatross bakery in Kreuzberg. If you like avocado toast oder sourdough bread. This might be a good place. They don't serve scrambled eggs and their menu is limited

Yelp
Great small and hip brunch/coffee place in Berlin. Came by on a Saturday morning around 10:30am and was able to get a seat right away. Was worried about how busy the place would get on a weekend but managed to get a table. When my boyfriend and I left there was a line forming already. We ordered a cappuccino, iced latte, the pancakes, and the poached eggs on toast (with avocado). Everything came promptly and was great! Delicious meal to start off the morning. Drinks were on point with latte art as well. The food was presented beautifully and the flavours of the poached eggs on toast worked well together. The pancakes were light and delicious as well with the blueberry and yogurt. Overall, friendly service, great food, and hip atmosphere. Only thing was that since it was so busy on the weekend it was hard to just sit and relax for a bit after the meal. Would recommend anyone to check out Distrikt Coffee for the food, coffee, and atmosphere if they are heading to Berlin.

Yelp
The avocado toast from Distrikt Coffee has to be one of the best things I've eaten in Berlin so far. We REALLY lucked out with this one! I came here with two friends for a working meeting this morning and loved that there was a good mix of people powering through assignments and friends catching up over cappuccinos. The restaurant itself had a chic vibe and the service was incredible. I highly recommend that you make time to visit!

Jenny O.

Yelp
Came here during my first time in Berlin and loved it! Very high class cafe shop with cute and tasty pastries. The coffee was delicious too and the lattes were presented nicely. Overall, this is a good place to eat breakfast and brunch before you continue on your Berlin adventure for rest of the day.

Yelp
Decided to come here for my last brunch in Berlin and I arrived at around 10:45am for brunch. We thought we would be able to beat the line, but boy were we wrong. We had several big parties ahead of us (around 2 parties of 4 - 6). We were a party of 2. We waited around 20-30 minutes until they were able to sit us. The only issue with Distrikt Coffee was the horrible waiting system. They don't take names, but rather memorize faces. There is no clear line for tables and that leaves those waiting super confused. However, given that we only had 3 parties in front of us, it wasn't too bad but I can see how it can get frustrating during the weekend brunch times. We were given menus (unfortunately, they no longer have some dishes on the new menu - for example, no pancakes, which were some Yelper's review highlights.) Our waitress was not very attentive, given she was spread pretty thin, but was sweet and patient. We ordered the brioche toast and the avocado toast to share. The avocado toast was really great and was done well. The brioche toast was EXCELLENT. Super delicious and tastefully done, my friend and I were both raving about the brioche toast. We were happy that we split it because it was too hearty and sweet to have one finish it by herself. So sad that we found this place on our last day in Berlin. However, if I ever am back in Berlin, I will definitely revisit Distrikt Coffee.

Yelp
A place we would never know if we had not read about it on blogs and on Yelp as it is not located right next to other cafèes or shops or on a busy street. We had the chia bowl, buttermilk pancake with citrus butter (yum!), poached eggs and avocado and beets on toast. Wow! Amazing breakfast and the coffee was really good as well. The service was smiling and fast. I hope to be back! They are more than welcome to open up in Copenhagen ;)

Michael A.

Yelp
This is a cool hipster cafe in Berlin mitte area. Staff is friendly, which is very rare in cafes and restaurants in this city. For me that is a big part of the experience when eating or drinking out. I love good coffee and this is a coffee place so one could expect really really good coffee. Unfortunately my coffee (filter coffee) wasn't anything special and it had a bit sour taste. To the coffee I had a smoked salmon sandwich with poached eggs. A disappointment to be honest. Bread was toasted to the level that a chainsaw would have been preferred to get a piece off. Salmon was very salty and it was very little. Price wise this is expensive with Berlin measures. However I'm willing to pay more if the value matches the price. In this case it doesn't. The three stars is more or less only due to the friendly staff.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this coffee and brunch place - thanks Yelpers for the tip! Very good single origin coffee from Ethiopia. Tried three items for brunch: the toasted brioche (basically a warm berry crumble with clotted cream on top), which was quite delicious; the ham sandwich (ham, cheese, chips, and lettuce on sourdough with goddess dressing), which was my favorite...savory, satisfying, and more than a sum of its parts; and the superfood bowl (blueberry yogurt, goji berries, cacao nibs, coconut, chia and granola), which was healthy and not too sweet. Good service, great coffee, interesting and tasty dishes.

Mike R.

Yelp
Great local coffee house feel. Loved the açaí bowl - it's served so beautifully. Popular so give yourself time to hang.

Dominique F.

Yelp
They didnt have the pancakes which is really what I wanted to get, but instead they had a french toast dish with the same sauce and it was honestly just as delicious. Got a flat white too, and while good, it wasn't the best flat while I've ever had. Would still recommend the place and be back :)

Kristen M.

Yelp
Delicious food and great atmosphere. I had the avocado toast with golden beets and it was divine! Outdoor and indoor seating. Great for brunch!

jason z.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast, brunch, lunch spot in #Berlin: Avocado & Beets on toast with citrus, whipped feta and radish add soft poached egg. #PutaneggonitinBerlin Croissant chocolate chip bread pudding and third wave coffee.

Kiva M.

Yelp
One of the best brunches I have ever had. You absolutely must get the pancakes- they are simply to die for- probably some of the best pancakes I have ever had. The avocado beet toast is also really great and it adds a nice twist to such a common brunch item. The Acai bowl is also fantastic.. but seriously get the pancakes- they are so so so good.

Ayano K.

Yelp
Atmosphere: 5 Service: 3 Food: 4 Drink: 4 My Pick: Buttermilk pancakes Flat white Extra: - food presentation is nice - small portion and a bit pricy - on weekend, you might wait for a table.

Nene S.

Yelp
Great food and awesome coffee. My husband and I had my birthday breakfast here and enjoyed it thoroughly. The ingredients are fresh and of excellent quality. The coffee is an expertly calibrated brew of great beans and we enjoyed the atmosphere in the place a lot. Staff was very friendly, albeit showing the typical hipster superiority, but if that is at least paired with a smile I can deal with it. All in all this was a great experience and we will be back!

Carolin J.

Yelp
A great little hipstery café that feels very Australian. All the breaky classics including avo on toast, acai bowl and toasties as well as delicious flat whites for reasonable prices (around 8€). Seating in and outside and friendly waitstaff!

Jeewon J.

Yelp
Delicious brunch and drinks - great Friendly servers - great Cool kids in town as customers - great Loooong waiting on Saturday morning - not so great

Elliott P.

Yelp
Overrated & pricey Pros - nice atmosphere Cons - Bread was hard, plain white bread - Poached eggs had very vinegary avocado, yuck - Carrot cake had no flavor or spices, quite oily - 9.50€ for eggs on toast

Tyler C.

Yelp
All-around solid coffeeshop and café. Note that when you walk in the door, you're in a coffeeshop and have to order at the counter. Walk past the counter to reach the café and order some delicious pancakes. I had pancakes and a cappuccino, both of which were excellent. My girlfriend ordered avocado and beets on toast with fresh orange juice. Wins on all counts. Final bill: 20.40 The bathroom is downstairs and uses motion sensors, so if you are writing a Yelp review while you poop, be prepared to stop typing to wave your arms every two minutes.

Tina L.

Yelp
Sooooooo good! Delicious!! Fresh products, creative dishes, very nice atmosphere and good service. Loved the pancakes!!! Just a little bit pricy, but at the end worth it!

Caroline G.

Yelp
Great. Food. We ordered the avocado/beets toast, acai bowl, poached eggs, pancakes, and rhubarb fizzy drink. Really recommend the eggs and pancakes especially! Also some of the friendliest staff we came across in Berlin.

Sole S.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in Berlin. The staff was incredible and the coffee and food were amazing!! I suggest the vegan banana bread and carrot salad! Super cozy and fun.

Danielle H.

Yelp
Distrikt Coffee is a great breakfast place! It was one of the few breakfast locations that was not a cafe. The coffee is fantastic and the blueberry pancakes were delicious! Everyone that worked there was very nice and welcoming.

Sunny K.

Yelp
It's mind-boggling to me how everyone in Berlin looks like they just stepped out of a marketing campaign for a super-cool apparel company. Everyone looks clean and chiselled, but each with a slightly different ethnic ambiguity - the staff at Distrikt totally embody this, as do all their customers. If you were an aspiring model you could do worse than just move to Mitte and hang out here to absorb their effortless cool! The food here is also displayed in gorgeous style - ready to be photographed. We ended up in quite an intense conversation (girly style, natch ;) so we didn't end up taking pics and giving away our own mystique... ha! Food-wise, I do recommend the beet/avo toast and the pancakes, but the highlight was the perfect tart juice. Mmm... But make sure you come early - there's always a huge wait!

Milagros D.

Yelp
Very nice coffee in a really lovely rustic like venue. Avocado toast is amazing and the staff are very kind and helpful. Definetly recommend.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Food is great (toasted brioche was delightful), atmosphere is excellent, coffee is delicious and expertly crafted, and (believe it or not) the service is actually friendly and not intentionally disdainful (take note, most other places in this city). If you want a totally aesthetically and emotionally pleasant coffee outing, this is your place.

Rodger S.

Yelp
A perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Eggs, salads, sandwiches, pancakes, fruit, etc. Fresh juices. And terrific coffee. Staff are friendly and welcoming. And plenty of room to sit, eat, chat, and people watch. Highly recommend!!

Anita B.

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast and lunch place, a true hidden gem. The pancakes we had were amazing. Got lucky with seats as it was crowded and very full. Staff is working hard and are friendly. A very small kitchen but they sure produce some magical dishes. Would recommend and hope to be back on my nect vidit yo Berlin!

Maurice A.

Yelp
Even though from a first look you think that this is yet another hipster café, I was surprised to find out the opposite. The food was marvelous, we got the poached eggs with avocado and the chicken sandwich, plus a tasty slice of carrot cake. The coffee was very good as well. The staff was super helpful, I admire the way they work on a busy Sunday. I'd be happy to visit this place again.

Amer K.

Yelp
Disappointing! It was not worth waiting outside then downstairs (by the toilets and the storage room). The person who's in charge of seating was not professional at all (you'd think it doesn't require special skills to plan seatings but believe me it does). He left an empty table for five mins while ppl are waiting in the line... and then he seated one person on a table that could easily fit three... anyway, we finally sat! The tea was tasteless and the coffee was really good (but cold). I ordered another cup of coffee hoping it would be warmer but guess what! It never came!! The deli sandwich was just regular (you can find it at any supermarket) and the brioche was very sweet (a bit more cream could've balanced it). The poached eggs on toast was good.

Vlad R.

Yelp
Distrikt coffee is an amazing place to get a great coffee or have a delicious breakfast. We had pancakes and Acai bowl, it was glorious! Service there is better than any other places. Check out this place and you will thank your self!

Karl F.

Yelp
Delicious work in progress. Adorable little coffee and brunch place tucked into mitte. Coffee is great and the food is delicious, when you get it. (eventually). 1 hour wait for fried eggs and then when you inquire it turns out the order never made it to the kitchen. We had a friend join us half and hour after us and her drinks and food came consistently before ours. Come for breakfast, get lunch! If you don't have anything else planned that day this place will be great. I'm sure it's just growing pains and I look forward to returning when the service gets organized.

Rob K.

Yelp
Fab! Great espresso drinks. Latte was a double shot, slightly nutty, up to best coffee standards. Fantastic food as well - we tried the granola with yoghurt which had a nice crunch, plenty of fresh fruit, not too sweet. Also the pancakes which came with lots of berries and a yummy citrus butter. Pancakes tasted a little well done but on the whole very good. Also the avocado toast which was a beet, red onion and avocado salad on brown toast- super delicious. Only minor complaint was that the wifi was a bit spotty while we were there.

Lucas M.

Yelp
This place is fabulous. They are dedicated to quality and service. Great decor, fresh & organic ingredients, beautiful food presentation (even the hot chocolate), and they even offer tap water for free which seemingly is rare in Germany. Free WiFi, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service. This place is off the beaten path but totally worth a visit. Very few tourists, mainly students and locals. Everything was so good, my wife and I went back the next day. A short 5 to 8 minute walk from the Nordbahnhoff S Bahn station, so don't worry about driving there. You will not find a bad dish on the menu.

Bailee L.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, atmosphere and staff... The interior is welcoming and homely with exposed brick, metal and wood accents. The staff was super friendly, smiling and helping with each of our questions. I am bummed that I didn't get to try any of the tasty food before leaving but the coffee was amazing by itself anyways... Loved this gem in Berlin!

Anita B.

Yelp
We went here for brunch, ordered The english breakfast menu, The chicken gourmet sandwich, banana bread and pancakes. Everything Was delicious except The pancakes that were an disapointment. They were dry and not tasty. The coffe though Was really good! And The interior and atmosphere Was nice and cozy. I really recomend This place!

Sergio D.

Yelp
Good coffee and good pancakes. Certainly a recommended place to have breakfast in Berlin.

Anna S.

Yelp
We went for breakfast during a week. It was full, but we found a seat quickly. The coffee is great there. We both had pancakes which was delicious but could have been more, I still was a little hungry afterwards. The waitress was nice. When we wanted to pay she was taking a break but other than that I'd say it's a normal etsy coffee place for brunch and breakfast in Berlin. :)

Jeannie A.

Yelp
Super busy on the weekends, but not so bad during the weekdays. A cute cafe. Friendly staff. Drinks are pretty good for a decent price. The cakes look good, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. It's a bummer that they close so early though.

Tea T.

Yelp
Overpriced for the mini portions you get. Food was nothing special. It's not comfortable as waiters try to rush you out. We were also seated at a table with another couple, having a private conversation was impossible.

Peter B.

Yelp
wow - I had one of the best light roast coffees in town there! The breakfast food is just divine and the guys running this joint are super friendly. A feel good place all around - super! Now to the bad news: it is very busy. Prepare yourself for the best breakfast experience and waiting times of up to 1 hour, should you get there past 11 a.m. on a weekend.

Tristan C.

Yelp
The locals drink here, or so it seems. It's hidden far away from tourists. I love this place to relax and get to know people. It's a place to talk, and a place to meet. It's also a a photogenic rustic place; exposed brick, earthy colours and copper pipes attached to a lamp. It's beautiful. The coffee is delicious, they care about their craft.

Nika A.

Yelp
What?! How did this place become so popular? A hipster den with very average coffee and food. Portions are small and lines huge. Menu? Overpriced. Don't come here!

Alex T.

Yelp
a coffee/restaurant with a really cool looking interior design inviting for a coffee and working on the laptop. but if you have a closer look thats pretty much it. service staff seems stressed, everyone just speaks english no german, the menu is very limited, expensive and the portions small. the food was good but berlin is full of places to have a more than just good breakfast!!

Connor B.

Yelp
Very hip, popular third wave coffee. 30 minute wait for a table on a Saturday. Wifi didn't work. Coffee was top notch though. Servers spoke good English. A bit pricier than other good places nearby

Katy C.

Yelp
Coffee - amazing, cake - just wow, staff - awesome, location - perfect, food - yummy! A favourite for weekend brunch.

Aing S.

Yelp
Nice feel, good food, although the granola portion was really small. As someone living herself abroad and experiencing another language than my mother tongue every day: it's a no go to have an english only café in Berlin. You should at least ask your customers which language they speak and not just assume it's English. Great for tourists, but a lot of people don't feel comfortable speaking English. The waitredd we had dis not even make an effort.

Morten Ø.

Yelp
Amazing pancakes! Great service. Nice atmosphere. The pastries were also very delicious and it's very vegetarian friendly!
