Dinesty in Vancouver, BC, is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. The Griddle Spicy Squid is an absolute must-try-perfectly tender with just the right amount of heat, and the spices elevate the dish to something truly memorable. Their stir-fried pea shoots are a refreshing complement, expertly cooked to retain their crispness and natural sweetness, with just a touch of garlic to enhance the flavor. Another standout is the Chinese chive pockets-crispy on the outside and packed with a fragrant, savory filling of chives and egg. They're a delightful treat that pairs beautifully with the rest of the menu. The ambiance at Dinesty is modern and inviting, and the service is always attentive. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or on your own, Dinesty delivers an exceptional experience every time.

PLEASE EVERYONE DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT I went to this restaurant with my family and feel very disappointed. I understand that servers survived by tips but since when tipping becomes something that is necessary? And the service is not even that good, the old lady’s attitude is insane. Me and my family order a huge meal and ended up with $299 of bills, and I paid $300 in cash. I said to the lady “wow I got 300 enough here!” And she said “tips has to be paid too”, and I said “is 5 dollars enough?” She said “no our rule requires 10% of tips” and I was shocked by how she said it with no shame. Since when tipping becomes a rule? Isn’t it depends on how customers feel about the restaurant and the food? I am willing to tip but I want to tip however I want, not what you ask for. If the servers don’t get pay enough that is not customers problem, it is owners problem to fix their wages. Honestly if she didn’t say $5 is not enough I might just paid tips but since she said not it has to be 10% I got really pissed I honestly didn’t want to pay AT ALL. The attitude is insane. I didn’t want to cause a scene there so I paid. BUT I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN! The food is not even that good. It is overpriced and most importantly the lady that take my bills, her attitude to the tips is just insane. As if it’s my responsibility to pay tips. *Videos to showed that I did order a lot of food

This place is incredible! Definitely the best place I have ever had dumplings. Every time my guy comes to Vancouver, this is his go-to spot. I am so happy he introduced this place to us because it’s really good! I also love the fact that you can watch them make the dumplings from the street - that is such a great idea! The service was really good and I love how cozy it is inside.

The food was soo delicious! Very tasty & the quality was high. The server who sat us was also very sweet & attentive. We dined by the window & had a nice view of the life outside. We also had a sneakpeak of the chefs in the back of the house crafting their work. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm during the time of our visit. Overall I would love to come back here again!

Google
Amazing home made dumplings. You can see people preparing them in the kitchen. Great taste and great service. Staff explained the different options and provided suggestions. Thanks!

Google
We visited because we read many good reviews online, but we were truly disappointed. The food was fair and overpriced, especially considering there are so many better options for Chinese food or dumplings in Metro Vancouver. I can’t make sense of the long queue outside their restaurant and don’t think their food was worth the wait.

Went there for an early lunch on a weekday, not very busy. Tried 3 of their dishes : - Steamed Pork Dumplings (6 pcs.) : $10.95 - quite delicious; Steamed Fish Dumplings (6 pcs.) : $12.50 - not sure what kind of fish they used but the taste was a bit weird (did not like it), really not worth the price; Stir Fried Shanghai Thick Noodles with chicken : $16.95 - ok but not very impressive. Overall food quality was average. Service was attentive. Servers were courteous and we got tea refill a few times. The table for 2 was very small, quite tight, almost not enough spaces to accommodate all the dishes, plates, & so on.

Google
Delicious! I would have returned again and again had it not been so far from where we were staying and we not needed to try other restaurants. The shumai, crispy scallion pancake***, potstickers, and soup dumplings, all were spectacular. The only two things that we did not enjoy quite so much were that the "hot" tea we were served came from a couple of pitchers left out on a table so it was only ever tepid at best (never actually hot). And the garlic broccoli came to the table swimming in water - and was not actually "Chinese broccoli" which is what we are used to at our hometown dim sum restaurants. ***The pancake was so good we briefly considered ordering an extra one to take home with us... You see, we over ordered, the quantities and sizes differed significantly from what we have at home, and so we had plenty to take with us. :) Honestly, in the Top 3 of our three-week vacation. Super, super, SUPER delicious!

Yelp
Our family dined here for lunch today (July 24, 2024), and it was pretty good! I'd say it's a cheaper Canadian version of Din Tai Fung. The quality was nearly on par with DTF, too. The inside of the restaurant had plenty of tables for large groups and it had pretty simple decor. We ordered the juicy pork dumplings and the skin was really thin, while the meat on the inside was quite tasty and soupy. The other dishes we ordered included the pan friend shanghai style rice cake, green scallion pancake, spicy wontons, dan-dan noodles, deep fried calamari, and green chive pocket. The food came out quite fast after we ordered, and our table was full of dishes in a short period of time. The star of our meal was the juicy pork soup dumplings. Even tough they came with 6 dumplings per order, the price was very reasonable and priced lower than the dumplings at DTF in California. I'd highly recommend this dumpling restaurant to anyone that visits Vancouver (or lives locally here).

Yelp
This restaurant has a few other locations. I went to their Dinesty Richmond Gilbert location a few years ago and had a very positive experience. So we were back in Vancouver and found their location in downtown. Excitedly entered the restaurant. But I thought that the food quality & tastes were not as good as the previous experience at Richmond Gilbert. Ordered: - Crab meat & Pork XLB - Kimchi & Pork XL - Black truffle & Pork XLB - Shrimp, Scallop & Pork XLB - Stir fried Rice Cake with Pork & Chicken - Pan fried Pork Potstickers Stir fried rice cake and the potstickers were waaaay oily. All the XLBs tasted one dimensional - and lacked the flavors that were promised in their names. It was disappointing... they may taste vastly differently depending on the locations, if so, I will not come back to this location and try going back to Richmond location.

Yelp
I had a very good meal at Dinesty Dumpling House during my recent trip to Vancouver! I was in the mood for soup dumplings, and what started as a snack ended up being a full dinner. I was intrigued by their Steamed Black Truffle & Pork Soup Dumplings, so I started with an order of that. I'll be honest, this left a bit to be desired--there was way too much truffle oil/seasoning on the dumplings and was very overpowering, not just in flavor but also in smell. If you like a lot of truffle flavoring though, then definitely get it. Next I thought I'd "wash" that all down then by getting an order of Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and making it extra spicy. Now this dish was totally worth it--I loved every single bite, and the portion was so huge I took it home and had it for lunch the next day. Service here was very kind to me too as well, and many people around me all seemed to be enjoying their meals. Definitely consider visiting Dinesty Dumpling House!

Yelp
Food is decent, but nothing that stood out to me. The XLB and dumplings were okay, but not on the same level as Din Tai Fung or anything I've had in Taiwan or Shanghai. The spicy wontons lacked flavor and spice and were the most disappointing of the bunch. The presentation of food was neat, the restaurant was clean, and the service was quick. I love that they have a window where you can see the workers making the dumplings by hand. If you're in the area and there isn't a wait then I'd say this is an acceptable spot to satisfy your hunger or craving.

Rebecca N.

Yelp
Next to Taylor Swift's final stop on the Era's Tour, these soup dumplings were the best things in Vancouver. We relished each bite of every dish we ordered. The soup dumplings and the dry fried spare ribs (a Canadian favorite) were the stars of the show. The service was quick, friendly and helpful and the seating comfortable with pleasant lighting. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Good chinese food, but nothing super duper outstanding. I saw this spot had good reviews and wanted to give it a try. We got a few items, with my favorite probably being the beef roll pancake. Something about the scallion pancake combo with beef and hoisin is so good. The soup dumplings and potstickers were fine, but I also did like the red bean rice cake for dessert -- it reminded me just of the din tai fung one! Service was okay, and the restaurant itself is huge. If you're looking for something filling and satisfying in the area, look no further!

Yelp
A friend of mine brought my husband and I here for dinner. If you don't get there before they open at 5pm, there's always a long line. The parking lot only had parking meters near by the restaurant. We were quickly seated and tea was brought to us. We ordered Braised Beef Noodle Soup, [Special]Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, Steamed Shrimp, Scallop, & Pork Soup Dumplings (6), Steamed Vegetable & Pork Dumplings (6), Pan Fried Shrimp & Pork Pot Stickers (6pcs), Pan Fried Pork Pot Stickers (6pcs), Pan Fried Marinated Beef Wraps (4pcs)...etc. The dumplings were brought to the table at the same time and were piping hot but cooled down quickly. The cold Dumplings and Stickers didn't taste very good. The beef noodles was delicious and the meat was meltingly tender. Pan Fried Shrimp & Pork Pot Stickers were crispy and yummy. Good service and quick service. Next time I want to try something else.

Yelp
Upon entering Dinesty Dumpling House, you're greeted with a window to the open kitchen where you see dumplings in the making. The restaurant is modern and large, but a bit cramped (tables close to each other). I ordered a small hot & sour soup and pork xiao long baos (6 piece). The hot & sour soup was good, warming on a cold day with a good balance of spicy and sour flavors. But the XLBs were just ok, not super flavorful and unmemorable. Service was quick, not the friendliest but also not rude. I wouldn't return if they're out of the way.

Maridel M.

Yelp
Visiting Vancouver and got to try dumplings. Friendly staff, but it takes a while before they come to your table. Nice and clean. The dumpling soup is the best.

Julia S.

Yelp
I came here on the recommendation of a friend but didn't realize how packed it gets until after I was dining. They close between lunch and dinner and I arrived about 5-10 minutes before doors opened. Food wise: - Xiao Long Bao: juicy, good flavor, better than other places for sure -- I got the shrimp scallop and pork XLB and I don't regret doing so - Shumai: skippable. I think that there's a small shrimp on top, but I didn't love the flavor of the filling. There was a STRONG citrusy and green (maybe ginger? Maybe also cilantro?) flavor - scallion pancake: MUST get, it's worth the extra time it takes to be made Service was just so-so, but it's understandable given how busy it is inside. Overall, I was pretty content with my meal here.

Dan S.

Yelp
Black truffle soup dumplings. I didn't even know this was a thing. Never seen them anywhere but here they were on the menu. So we had to get them. And boy were they good. The right mix of broth and pork. And just the right size too. And hearty enough they didn't break when you picked them up. We also had a fried rice and screw buns too. All was great. Quick service and a nice interior (though more functional than luxurious). Really enjoyed this place but get the dumplings for sure.

Ingrid L.

Yelp
The dishes were delicious overall, though I'd steer clear of the hot and sour soup. Service could definitely use a boost, though!

Shelley C.

Yelp
Best xiao long bao of my life. Stopped by for lunch and it was packed inside, but luckily we got seated right away! Service is super quick. Xiao long bao, fried rice, pan fried pork buns were all so good. Definitely recommend!

Helen W.

Yelp
We came here on our last day in Vancouver and the food was great. Service was fast and good. Everything we had was excellent. My only complaint is that the onion pancakes were a bit on the thicker side and not as light as I'm used to. I would definitely recommend and return to this place.

Shwe N.

Yelp
mama dae | rating this to a close 3.75! as a xlb and wonton and dim sum lover, i was kind of disappointed -- on the outside it's super modern and aesthetic but for the prices and portions... wth service was okay, food was okay, everything was just okay! would have given 4 stars if the prices weren't that high.. usually this kind of food back home would have had me stuffed but tell me why i left still hungry but not wanting to order more! they give stamp cards though lol

Kim V.

Yelp
Found this on yelp as we were driving through on a Friday evening. It was pretty packed when we got there and our party of 5 had to wait about 40m to get a table. They are very flexible here and let people split the check as needed, if it wasn't a family style dinner. Three of us decided to share and we got pan fried pot stickers, the scallion pancake, the pork and veggie wontons, some pork with XO dumplings and a fried noodle. For the three of us, it was just the right amount of food and we enjoyed everything. The pan fried pot stickers might have been our favorite item and we probably should have gotten a few more dumplings, but maybe next time we're in the area we'll try it again!

Ashley L.

Yelp
This place is almost as good as Din Tai Fung. Xiao long bao FTW all day, every day here! As far as service, we came at 6pm on a Saturday so prime dinner time hour and they were busy. It took maybe 10 minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us. It just was awkward standing there for that long and not have any staff greet or instruct us that it'd be a few minutes. The cucumbers were so refreshing after hours of biking around Stanley park. They hit the spot! But they were also super spicy. The soup dumplings were delicious and the perfect bite size. I do want to mention that there is a window where you can watch the workers make the dumplings. I witnessed a girl tie her hair up in a pony tail and adjust her hat, and then continued to make the dumplings with her bare hands. I'm sure she was caught in the moment and didn't realize customers can watch your every move - so very unsanitary. For what it's worth, this was still one of my favorite foods I've eaten so far on my trip here in Vancouver!

Frances L.

Yelp
Great place for dumplings and more! We stopped by close to closing and it was still busy. The line moved quickly. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and all the dishes looked so good that it was hard to order. The restaurant is clean, busy and very popular. Service was very efficient. XLB-our juicy pork dumplings were the perfect bite. Thin skin, savory juicy pork with the ginger and black vinegar. Tofu and pork stir fry was delicious! It was cooked just the way I like it and not saucy. The pork was very tender and savory. Chive and egg pockets are my favorite and I order it whenever I see it in the menu. Thin wrapper filled with chive, egg and vermicelli. Pan fried so it's crispy. Yum! Pea sprouts with garlic for our veggies.

George N.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. Fast efficient service and great aurgentice Chinese food. Would definitely recommend.

Liz N.

Yelp
Dinesty restaurant offers excellent soup dumplings and Chinese cuisine. My family of 7 enjoyed our meal which consisted for pork soup dumplings, gungpao chicken, fried fish, fried rice, green vegetables, and fried tofu. I Highly recommend Dinesty if you're looking for a delicious affordable family restaurant with good ambiance.

Gabrielle V.

Yelp
Four stars for a solid dim sum place. We walked right in for dinner with no wait which was awesome. Staff was hands off but quick to bring drinks, refills, answer questions and take our order. Food came out pretty quickly. The fried noodles are a tad oily but nice and hot and flavorful. Everything we got was great though the garlic black pepper beef was not my favorite (my husband loved it). Overall lots more I would come back to try, preferably with more folks so we can order more to try!

Cactus P.

Yelp
Fantastic! We visited twice. Once during the later part of the lunch hours and once right when they opened for dinner. Both times we were seated quickly. We had to make some tough choices because there were so many good things to order, this is the reason to visit twice. The XLBao are great. Piping hot, a little time to cool down, put into a soup spoon, carefully sip the hot "juice" then eat the thin wrapping and deliciousness. The XL Bao are as good as I have had anywhere including in Shanghai by the corners bridge and the TDFung chain. We had HS soup and several side dishes (cucumber and fried Tofu) they were all very good. Dinesty DH is a must when ever visiting the area! Can't wait to return and try some other dishes!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
We walked in with a group of 7 on a Wednesday night and were quickly accommodated. The 8 year old and I have an obsession with soup dumplings and we were not disappointed. The only disappointing item was the pan fried marinated beef wraps. They had a large chunk of cucumber in the middle that didn't seem to quite fit. Other places I have been to have added fresh greens, which seems to compliment the dish better. Service was good. Staff were efficient and food came out quickly.

Shahan A.

Yelp
Would've been 5 stars, but they really only had pork dim sum, which I can't have, so I had to get fish dumplings. They weren't anything special by themselves, but with the brown sauce (no idea what it was), they were pretty dynamite. Shrimp with salted egg yolk sounds odd, but it was really damn good. There wasn't any actual yolk in the dish; it just flavored the shrimp and puffed rice. Though, I wish they'd taken off the shrimp tails :/ Veggie spring rolls were amazing. Crispy to the point where they were near shattering when I bit them; loved em. Sweet&sour sauce was great too. Loved the milk tea too. First few sips were odd, but quickly became very refreshing. Didn't need to wait for a table. Food came within minutes. Place felt polished and lively.

Audrey L.

Yelp
Great spot for dim sum! We ordered several different dishes and they were all tasty. Price is pretty reasonable too! We got soup dumplings, pork and shrimp sui mai, and pork chop fried rice. The soup dumplings were very tasty and filled with a lot of soup! The sui mai were also great, and came with big pieces of shrimp on top. The pork chop fried rice was good, but I've had better. I wish it came with more pieces of pork, so I might skip this dish next time. Overall great experience here! Would recommend if you're looking for dim sum, and you gotta try the soup dumplings!

Andrew S.

Yelp
The XLB dumplings were pretty good, and the soy milk was fresh and tasty. The other dishes we got -- glutinous rice with mashed taro and egg pancake -- were not that good. Store is very clean and modern, and the service was OK, but overall, I was disappointed and probably wouldn't come back.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Late review, we came here in November 2023 on a Saturday night..FYI YELP says they do reservations but that is not the case so minus one star for that. We came across town thing we had made a reservation through Yelp which they do show on their site but arrived to be told it is stand in line only. We waited only about 15 minutes to be seated. Food was exceptional.. we got hot and sour soup.. 2 orders of the soup dumplings..fried rice with Chinese sausage and pan fried beef dumplings and pan fried pork pot stickers! Magical! It's worth the wait for the delicious delights! J

Tammy H.

Yelp
We came right at 11 am on Saturday. No wait, but by the time we left there was a line forming. There is metered street parking right in front if you are lucky. Price and service was great! They even were giving out cute 2023 calendars. I think our expectations were too high. We were a bit underwhelmed. Coming from California where we have amazing Dim Sum in San Francisco and LA - San Gabriel Valley, we were hoping for an amazing experience. The food was good, but not "amazing." The XLB was just OK and the other dumplings were good . The skin was a bit thicker than what I am used to. The green onion pancake was kinda small. The shang hai fried noodles didn't have a lot of flavor. I think I would try a different place next time I am in town.

Erick T.

Yelp
Great dim sum within walking distance of Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Center! They even have a robot that delivers hot dishes straight to your table. Solid choice for great Chinese food without having to schlep all the way over to Richmond. I'd highly recommend making reservations if you can, since the lines can get very long.

Jess S.

Yelp
This place is incredible but it was just not for me. They have several veg options but not a lot. Service was exceptional and the place gets packed at 5pm. I ordered the veg and egg dumplings. Beautiful and nicely paired with the black vinegar but the egg was overwhelming. And the veg seemed to be mainly chives. I then ordered the sesame noodles. Huge portion but again, not overly great. The flavors were bland and needed hot sauce or soy sauce. The hot sauce was the consistency of a jam and not hot at all. It was not for me.

Mathew S.

Yelp
Top notch food in a modern, sleek atmosphere. Good portions, all selections were perfect. Try the black truffle soup dumplings, if available!

Elyzabeth P.

Yelp
A friend from the USA recommended this place for soup dumplings...but it's so much more. We ordered the clams, pork belly tofu clay pot, fried rice, spicy string beans with minced meat and they were all delicious. We came late at night after 8pm...tip...Yelp allows you to make a reservation 30 minutes before you arrive. Too bad the restaurant didn't get the reservation. Ugh. Call them instead! They were kind enough to seat us despite the YELP system not sending them the reservation. At 8pm on a Sunday night we sat down with only 15min wait.

Brian L.

Yelp
Ive been here several times for dinner, every time I just walk-in. Usually a short wait, never had to wait more than 20 mins. This is a local chain, similar to DinTaiFung but on a much smaller scale. They have windows to see the workers making the XLB, which is the specialty here. The XLB are good, evenly thin skins, always intact with soup inside, fillings are flavourful. And unlike DTF (at least the American ones), its not too salty. The other items seem somewhat catered to a more western palate. Not as intensely spiced or flavoured. Still pretty good, but purists will probably prefer other places. Menu is huge, with a rotating menu of specials too. Other items are hit and miss in quality. My most recent visit I had a satay beef pan fried noodle - overcooked a bit and mushy. Also had a special - fish soup with pickled greens - very mediocre, nowhere near enough pickles and spice. Pricing is not cheap but not expensive. Fair probably, given the cost of doing business on Robson. Service is friendly but somewhat slow. They seem perpetually understaffed whenever I come and its always super busy. Restaurant is also pretty cramped and crowded. The restaurant interior is consistent across the chain with similar look vibe. Average cleanliness. Street meter parking along Robson or side streets. I have to give them credit for their consistency in the XLB. I wish they would shrink the menu and increase quality across the board for everything else. Overall, probably a 3.5/5. They deserve better than 3 for sure. Cant give half stars so 4/5 is probably more fair than 3/5. Come here for reliable XLB, caution about the rest.

Theresa P.

Yelp
Oh man, this place is delish!! Definitely worth the wait. Everything we had was super tasty. They were out of a couple of dishes we wanted to try, but would come back again next time we're in town! It's a busy little place so be patient & look at the menu ahead of time so you can get the party started!

Helen H.

Yelp
There are several Dinesty locations. You can watch through the window as they make the dumplings. We came here for dinner and were quickly seated. We started with the hot and sour soup and the XLB's. I enjoyed the soup as it warmed me up and it was full of ingredients. The XLB's were average. There is a stamp card for the XLB's, and once you have 10 stamps, you will receive a free basket of dumplings. We also ordered the gai lan vegetable, stewed eggplant with shredded pork, and stir fried rice noodles with pork & vegetables. Of the three I enjoyed the eggplant the most. Everything was good, but nothing stood out. If you want Chinese food, this place is a solid choice.

Cherie P.

Yelp
We love dumplings, so we decided to try Dinesty while we were in Vancouver. The food was so good! We had the pork XLB, which had a great flavor and did not fall apart like I've read others say. Green beans are also a must try, along with the Shanghai noodles and pan fried pork dumplings. Service was very fast, yet we did not feel rushed. Highly recommend Dinesty!

Mia H.

Yelp
I came here about 30 minutes before lunch service ended, and although they did warn us that they were doing last calls AS we were sitting (so we had to decide what to eat ASAP) the staff throughout the whole experience was very polite and kind. In a panic mode, my boyfriend and I ordered: the steamed shrimp, scallop, and pork XLB, shrimp and pork shaomai, steamed vegetable and pork dumplings, wontons in hot & sour sauce, spicy string beans with minced pork, a fried rice, and a mango panna cotta for dessert. We quickly realized that we over-ordered but decided that to-go wouldn't be a bad option in the end. Somehow, we finished EVERYTHING. I'm sure the staff was just as shocked as I was haha. Considering everything we ordered, the food was very well-priced and the portion sizes were great. Everything was delicious and out of all the foods I tried, I would definitely recommend the XLB and string beans. I would love to try another location next time I'm nearby!

Nancy H.

Yelp
This is a review for Door dash order during a work trip so not as detailed as my usual reviews! And the food may not reflect quality when dining in. - Shanghai fried noodle: Pretty good, even after being delivered to hotel. I would order this item for takeout/deliver again. - Steamed pork soup dumplings: Did not transport well. Cold dumplings that ejected cold broth. I would recommend that you only order this if you are dining in. -Pan fried marinated beef wraps: This was too greasy to begin with, and the oils became more dense and heavy as a result of transport. I couldn't finish it, which is mind-boggling because I love greasy fried foods. If you are staying in a hotel with no microwave, I would recommend being a bit more diligent in choosing something from the menu that still tastes good when cold/lukewarm

C L.

Yelp
I heard the dumpling game in Vancouver is strong so we had high hopes for this place, and it didn't disappoint! Our favorites were the pork soup dumplings and Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The pork dumplings had lots of soup and the wrapper was just the right texture. The beef noodle soup had a deep rich flavor, the meat was tender and the noodles were chewy. The shumai was our least favor...was a bit dry and lack of flavor. Everything else were tasty and definitely fulfilled my comfort food cravings.

Olee L.

Yelp
Short wait and good service. They are like ding tai fung type of restaurant, With more entrees. We love our 1. Chicken mushroom soup. 5/5, must order 2. Duck with buns 4/5 3. Soup dumplings seafood 4/5 4. Beef spicy noodle 3/5 5. Onion pancake skip Parking on the street available, 7 dollars/hour!

Kevin L.

Yelp
The interior is hot and steamy. Not sure if AC was broken or if the business is too cheap to turn it on. This was tough to get over since we were all sweaty from start to finish. Food was mainly ok but nothing to rave about. Service was inattentive and disorganized. Order of dishes coming out was strange. The dumplings and another dish were served before the soup. Seems to be a much lesser version of Din Tai Fung in every aspect. Xiao long bao. Good. 6 small pieces only. Hot and sour soup. Not sour enough and had a different flavor profile than what I'm used to from other hot and sour soups. Vegetable fried rice. Decent. Diced chicken with broccoli. Flavorful sesame flavor. Pan-fried fish with chili sauce. Pungent and slippery but lacking something.

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
Walked in during lunch on a Wednesday and was seated promptly after using Yelp waitlist. It was very busy. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Reminded me of a Din Tai Fung, but with more main dish options! Highly highly recommend the sweet and sour pork!

M S.

Yelp
It was ok don't order the sweet-and-sour chicken. They leave and cooked with the skin on. Grossly i

Yelp
We had planned to go to Nine Dumplings in Robson Market for lunch today, but sadly I forgot they were closed on Wednesday and Thursday (Boo!!) and happily ended up at Dinesty instead. We usually go here for dinner, but lunch was just as lovely. Maybe even a bit nicer than dinner time as it was less crowded than in the evenings (they get busy around 7pm and don't take resos so there's often a wait time) It's such a beautiful room, and I enjoy being able to see into the kitchen. The service is nice and efficient, even more so when they're less busy. The food is always great. Their pork soup dumplings are my favourite and the thing I'll order here consistently. I'm assuming most other people do as well, since they give you the vinegar for your dumplings before you've even ordered them, and they now give you a little punch card where you get a free order of them after purchasing 10 . Today we also got the pan fried pork potstickers and stir fried noodles with satay beef, which were both really good as well. I've never had anything not good here. Honestly, it annoys me a little bit that they charge you $0.50 for lemon to add to your soda, especially when they give you much more than you would need, but I understand they cost money too. If people ask for too many free lemons with their water it adds up as an expense for them so I don't hold it against them, but it is something to be aware of when ordering if you're the type of person that enjoys lemon with your water or soda. Overall they serve authentic and delicious food, in a convenient and trendy area with lots of other cute stuff around the neighbourhood to check out if you're visiting, including being walking distance to Denman street, English Bay and Stanley Park.

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant that can accommodate large groups. This is a typical dumpling house with pork, crab, and kimchi filled dumplings. (The dumpling were a little on the small size.) They have host of noodles one can choose as you side or main. The rice cake slice dishes were a fam fav. You can get it with beef, prof or chicken. Scallion pancakes are a must to try. Tasty! You can watch the employees making the dumplings on the right side of the restaurant if you want something to entertain the kids. Added plus you can get bubble tea from Yi Fu Tang in the restaurant. The wait staff were a little confused when we ordered more that 6 but we eventually got something for everyone. Apparently they do not have a lot of supplies o handle of the drinks. (They have a little robot to deliver the drinks). Note: they sell frozen dumplings in the front it the place so you can get some for home Overall we had a great time and meal! Worth going back

Flew to Vancouver on Christmas Day. Most restaurants are closed so I decided to do Ubereat from this place. I ordered 4 soup dumplings and two fried rice (house special and the egg white seafood fried rice). I ordered fried rice because it was a "safe" choice and it's pretty hard to F up fried rice but this place managed to do it. First of all, the rice was either not fully cooked or they used very old rice because the rice was sooooo hard. I'm writing this review with a stomachache from indigestion. Second, the rice was soooooo bland. It had no flavor. My white husband was dumping vinegar on the rice... that's how you know that thing was so bland. Unfortunately, there was no hot sauce packets, only some vinegar packets for the dumplings. The dumplings tasted decent but I was so so thirsty from it. It just tasted oily and not as light as dumplings from Din Tai Fung. Maybe I am from LA and I am spoiled by all the good Chinese food but man to mess up fried rice is just another level. Please cook your rice thoroughly or use fresh rice.

Yelp
Their xiao long baos are good and their winter melon soup! I also tried their pork fried dumplings and their cucumber and bamboo all very delicious! The only item I wouldn't recommend is the steamed egg and chive dumplings that tasted very weird and not good. I wouldn't order that again

Yelp
A fun restaurant in Richmond! We were sat immediately with a party of 6, and the service was relatively fast and efficient. This place knows its dumplings, so any dumpling dish will not disappoint. The steamed soup dumplings were soo juicy and flavorful. The pan-fried pork buns were soft, crisp and so tasty too. Another favorite was the pork and shrimp potstickers (not pictured), and they were so crispy from the dumpling skirt. The wontons in hot and sour sauce were pretty good but it was nothing special for me. For the non-dumpling items, the noodles in the sesame and peanut sauce are a pass; the squid was delicious and perfectly chewy. We ordered the chocolate and red bean dumplings for dessert, and they were different and sweet, but I have had better. Overall, it was a tasty meal!
