Let me start with the music! Wow!
As a visitor to the city of Detroit, I was merely minding my own business and walking down Joseph Campau when the sounds of Carl Craig, and then Theo Parrish lured me into this Motor City Wonderland of vintage tees, club gear from the 80's and 90's, hats, sweatshirts, leather pants, sunglasses, and so on and so forth! A great place for a wardrobe stylist to load up on some amazing items.
Michael the shop keeper is a true Detroit historian who cares deeply for his community and shared many brilliant Detroit stories with me and my friends. There were tons of great, and I mean absolutely great albums on vinyl and some very rare CD's. His music collection is a DJ's dream. Gospel, Northern Soul, Techno, Jazz, Garage Rock, Motown and more!
Oddly and pleasantly there was easily thee largest collection of original Stroh's items I have ever seen in one place. There were other local brands that were well represented in his store for those looking for bar collectibles and vintage work clothes, but the Stroh's collection really took the cake.
In addition to all of these items, there was an abundance of odds and ends, such as an amazing Underground Resistance poster that we wanted to purchase for our friend in Italy, however it was not for sale :(
A great number of posters, patches, pins, buttons, mugs, beer steins...
It was endless. Michael is a true gem, very cool, very friendly, and made us feel welcome. This is a great store, and I hope to see him expand his space and do even more business as Hamtramck appears to be growing in the midst of some kind of renaissance.
