"On a night you don’t want to commit to a single restaurant, or simply can't deal with an absurd wait time, have your pick of six distinct venters at temporary food and wine space, The Hall. Before hunkering down at one of the communal tables, take a lap of the massive dining area where you’ll find a Vietnamese stall, the meat-centric Whole Beast, and an Indian food spot. You’ll love having the freedom to pick and choose from several different cuisines all in one spot."

Wonderfully decorated holiday bar with delicious themed cocktails but DO NOT arrive at 4pm opening. My friend and I were hoping to beat the crowds so arrived right at 4 on Sunday and were not let in until 4:37. Quite a few seating areas but they filled up very fast. My friend and I ordered the charcuterie board to share. They unfortunately weren't able to make my first choice drink Snow Globe so I ordered Tinsel and my friend ordered Fireplace. Tinsel came with a cute ornament on top that you pour into the glass but fireplace was the real showstopper as the drink gets lit on fire! We enjoyed the meats and cheeses in our board and thought the drinks were made strong enough that you only needed one. Overall great experience once inside, just wished their hours were correct.

We went early so not crowded or hectic. Quick drinks and fun Holiday cocktails . Beer selection was weak. Not cheap.

The snow globe drink was awful. I returned it and they gave me another drink that was equally awful. We had an espresso martini that was okay. The decorations were cute but over all we will not come back. Took several minutes to get a drink. One bartender completely ignored us so we went to the other side to get help which was quicker. But those drinks. Awful. Not worth 17 dollars imo.

Crowded and no seating available as it was all taken by the time we arrived (we figured). Dri is are pretty good and cute. Bartender did his best to be quick and very very sweet.

Korey made this bar a great experience and so fun! The extra effort he made by putting on a show was fantastic! Course makes you buy more drinks too. Great decorations! More bars need to get in this Holiday spirit. Drinks were ok, didn’t prefer the options but still had 2 I liked enough.

Went to the 1979 Union street location and it was like Christmas threw up inside. Beautiful decorations, fun drinks (including a sippie Santa) but be ready for a LONG wait. Had it not been a Christmas-themed bar I think we would have thrown in the towel and left for the long wait. Tons of places to sit, lots of instagrammable moments (including a blow-up Grinch) and we even took some Photo Booth photos. Worth a pop-in!

Came in wary of the kitsch, but left truly charmed. So wonderfully full of holiday spirit - even a grinch will be sipping egg nog after a night here!

Yelp
HANDS DOWN THE CUTEST CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY BAR + LOUNGE in San Francisco. We stumbled upon this spot while exploring during SantaCon. It was our absolute favorite out of 4 different places we went to! We absolutely LOVED IT. Out of the 4 bars we visited, Deck the Halls blew them ALL out of the water! Highly recommend. This spot has the absolute BEST and most creative Christmas festive decorations. I love how they had the super cute Santa, Deer, Snowman, + other Christmas inflatable balloons up on the ceiling, sooo cute! All of the holiday decorations are super cute, trendy, cool, and there is a ton of different places to take super cute holiday photo shots. We loved everything about this spot. The music was fun + diverse, the cover was super low like $5(?) the bartenders were attentive and made the drinks super fast. Deck the Halls had the BEST, most creative holiday drinks. I got the Defrosty Icee cocktail, absolutely loved it! It's a frozen vodka margarita with maraschino, citrus, and flavored whip cream on top and a super cute festive snowman cup, loveee it! They also give you your bill in a Christmas card. Whoever designed this place and the drinks deserves a HUGE raise! All the Christmas details are catered to perfection. lol. Additionally I also LOVE how they serve food too! Yay! We went to 4 bar/lounges and Deck the Halls was the ONLY place with food available. Thank you! I ordered the Elf's Empanadas and the Sausage Stuffers rolls they were pretty good. I like the Elf's Empanadas best. HIGHLY recommend! Check out Deck the Halls if you're in San Francisco for Christmas time.

Yelp
Came by on Christmas Eve, which I believe is their second to last day of opening for the year. One of the better holiday decorated bars. Cute red arch upon entry with a plethora or every imaginable holiday decor inside. Decorations also aren't chaotic. Cute sleigh photo opp area too that you can get in. Menu includes food and drinks but we only got drinks. Some drinks were better than others. Wasn't a fan of the defrosty icee but I did enjoy the grinchmas, fireplace, and snow globe. If you like sours, then you'll enjoy the grinchmas. If you like refreshing tonics, you'll like the snow globe. I did find that the snow globe, while refreshing, was very citrusy. When sipping water afterwards, there was a strong citrus flavor that lingered in my mouth. Fireplace is a must if you want a fire show with flames and cinnamon. Drinks are $17 which I feel is pretty average for holiday pop ups. Staff was friendly and energetic.

Sharon B.

Yelp
Was so glad to check out Deck the Halls, it gave me just the festive cheer I was looking for before Christmas! The inside was decorated really well, and they had a lot of seating available when I went with a group of 4 on Thursday night. They had some great holiday drink options that came in cute holiday themed glasses. The bar tenders were also super fun and attentive. They do serve food, but I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken nuggets I ordered. They tasted like McDonalds nuggets and were $15 for only a few pieces. They also didn't sit too well.. Other than that, had a great experience! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a festive bar in the area.

Julia P.

Yelp
Very cute pop up bar for Christmas, but these drinks were awful. We couldn't even finish them. The atmosphere is adorable. Maybe we just need to try new drinks but for $17 I would hope to at least enjoy it.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Now this is a christmas bar. Super cozy, with lots of different themes in each corner of the bar. It's less busy since it's out of the main downtown area. Well decorated, super friendly staff and folks at the bar. Loved all the inflatables they had too! A whole lot of fun :)

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
Super cute Christmas pop up bar -- we came here around 8:30 PM on a Friday and there was no wait to get in. All the cocktails are $17 each and I tried the Cranberry Negroni, which had a cute presentation and tasted decent. I would say that this is a typical pop up bar where you're paying for the ambiance with overpriced mid-level cocktails, but they are at least cute and themed. This was one of the nicer ones time since the decorations were cute, it wasn't too crowded, and ordering cocktails didn't take long.

Rosalyn W.

Yelp
THIS IS THE CHRISTMAS BAR!!! Decorations are over the top and executed in the most elaborate ways!! Exceptionally curated, loving touches and thoughtful designs everywhere inside the joint. IG worthy opportunities galore. Out of this world AMAZINGLY delicious hand crafted cocktails. Many choices. Food options. Cute sht all over. The ambience was perfect!! Disco snowflake lights, bomb ass music, big booths, incredible inflatables. Long bar, lots of space. Lots of dancing. The service here was impressive!!! The people working had so much spirit!! Loving and holly jolly af!! Making majorly cool and intricate shots and cocktails that had as much flavor as they did flare. I couldn't stop drinking them they were ALL sooooooo good!! The coolest staff in the world! Well done and a much deserved round of applause! Do not miss it! Will be back!

Katie R.

Yelp
Not the best holiday bar I've been to, but definitely the most expensive one I've been to. Decor was cute, but felt like the space could've used a little more holiday cheer given how big it was. I did like pop-art the wall of all the Christmas characters, haven't seen that anywhere before and thought it was super cool! We came by on a Saturday night and our group of 5 was let in right away. It was nice that it wasn't cramped, usually I feel like holiday bars are overflowing with people, but we were actually able to grab a seat here. We ordered their version of an espresso martini, and I don't think I've ever had an espresso tini that tasted so watered down. On top of that, the drinks were $17 before tax and an extra 4% surcharge, then the suggested tip for two drinks was $8. I love a holiday bar, but I'd rather go somewhere unfestive than spend $46 on two watery drinks.

Pam M.

Yelp
The most fun Christmas themed bar in the neighborhood! We loved Shai & Gabriel when we met them at Rendezvous & this is at least the second year that Deck the Halls has been at this location. It was my favorite Deck the Halls location last year too. They are currently in soft opening and the official opening is November 30, 2023. We came for some drinks and I had a boozy hot chocolate, which was yummy. We remembered that last year, they had the Fir on Fire drink & this year, Shai added some fire to Krampus cocktail, as we requested to see the flambé. It's a fun, festive venue with holiday cheer & high party energy, thanks to Shai, Gabe & Michael. Come visit soon as they're only open until Christmas. We're planning on many future visits as we love them!

Bally L.

Yelp
Not the craziness holiday pop up bar, but they do have a variety of decorations and neon pop up signs. We walked in on a random Thursday night and there was limited seating. There's a small handful of holiday cocktails and only a few of the drinks come in festive cups. The drinks are pretty average for taste and price point. We ordered the: *naughty shot turned into a drink (tequila, agave, citrus): kinda tasted like a more bitter Moscow mule *yellow snow (rum, lemon, curaçao): typical slush cocktail Overall, it was a cute enough holiday bar to visit if you're in the area, but there's also a bunch of other options.

Priscilla C.

Yelp
Dare I say it is not worth it? Unfortunately Deck the halls missed the mark for me. I went with pretty low but expectations and yet I was still let down. First of drinks run about $17. My drink was handed to me in a sticky cup that smelled like wet dog. My boyfriends drink or cup did not stink but it wasn't all that. I did not think the drinks tasted good either. I would have much rather went to a proper bar and gotten a good cocktail. You are really just paying for the lights here. The ambiance here was lacking, yes there was many lights but not many seats and the music was not good enough to dance to yet not reallly good enough to vibe to. I might try out PCH to see if it's any better but I think I'll just stick to a GOOD cocktail and less lights next Christmas

Julianne R.

Yelp
My favorite holiday pop up in SF! The drinks are creative, the decorations are over the top and the staff are dressed perfectly on theme. Just be careful -- the drinks are strong!

Pree K.

Yelp
Went here despite some bad reviews and we were so glad we did! Seems like some of the reviews were from prior years so they have really stepped up their game since. We LOVED it! Beautiful decor, fun drinks that were tasty, and great bartenders! Ours did a whole performance for one of the drinks that gets lit on fire. Absolutely loved it!

Angeled R.

Yelp
I would avoid this bar at all costs to save yourself from embarrassment. Horrible service from bartenders. We stood in front of the bar for about 10-15 minutes attempting to order for my partner and our 2 guests. We requested to place an order multiple times and BOTH of the bartenders refused to take our order. We understand that bartenders could be busy but there is no need to be rude and pick and choose who to serve first. I am unsure if this was due to race or why they profiled and discriminated us.

Celia C.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Could take you about 30 minutes to place an order with less than 10 people at the bar. Not worth the hype.

Bea D.

Yelp
The drinks were good with unique cocktails. The service was fast and attentive. The ambiance made me feel as if I was in a winter wonderland and the songs matched pretty well.

Becky V.

Yelp
Location changes every year, since it is a pop up experience. That means decor changes too. The pics you see here may be from past years so don't expect the same. That's part of the excitement of going, to see the new designs for the year. This year one of the two locations is 1979 Union Street. It is hosted in a dive bar. Very divey. Table very sticky and dirty. Smelled grimey in there, definitely different from the past year experiences. Decor was fun and all decked out throughout the whole place. Lights and inflatables were very cool. Large space plenty of seating especially if you get there early. Just grab your own table, anywhere you'd like. Photo machine in the back. drinks about $15 at this location (I guess normal for SF) pricey as you would expect. they are $17 at the other location. My whiskey s'mores cocktail with a marshmallow floating on top was nice and strong. The bar staff that night didn't seem too enthusiastic and almost embarrassed to make the Christmas drinks which is probably so out of the ordinary for them. No table service, you order at the bar. I think it's wonderful that there are 2 locations this year, since it gets so crowded. Helps to spread out

Melody L.

Yelp
Really loved this place compared to some other holiday bars. We stumbled upon it totally by chance after eating dinner nearby on Union St. No cover charge, fun bartenders, great decor, and not too crowded! The drinks were overpriced as to be expected, but we had such a fun time watching the bartenders prepare drinks and shotskis.

Joanna D.

Yelp
This place has all the warm vibes. Bartenders are fun & entertaining. Many photo ops & spots to walk around to. The whole thing is very decorative and soo festive. It's definitely a fun place to have a drink!

Sam W.

Yelp
This was my first time at Deck the Halls, but definitely not my first holiday pop-up bar. Let me say, DTH nailed it! Even before you enter, you can spot dangling silver ornaments in the breezeway from a block away. You're greeted with a gorgeous white winter arch that guides you inside to a spacious, thoughtfully-decorated venue. Tinsel, trees, and decorations galore border every room -- even the Golden Gate Bridge in the back room was sporting some festive attire! I didn't get to try any of the food, but my table tried five different drinks and loved them all. A bit pricey at $17-19 a pop, but to be expected for a seasonal pop-up bar -- and honestly, they were worth the extra few bucks. The bar staff was friendly and offered some great recommendations, and kept their heads level when things got hectic around 9pm. Would definitely recommend a visit for locals and tourists alike!

Christine K.

Yelp
Came here on a whim with a friend after reading online and seeing tiktoks about the location! The inside is so cute and festive. There are lights everywhere, ornaments, and plenty of photo ops! There are actually two floors to the bar. The bottom floor has huge tables for larger groups. There was a company event going on when I was there and it was the perfect space. Bathrooms area is also very festive! They have fun lights, disco balls, and Christmas trees all around! The bathrooms are also all singles and all all gender! Very clean and festive. The drinks - I got the chocolate milk drink with vodka. It was not the best nor worst! It was quite strong and kinda took away from some of the other flavors. It came in a cute snowman sipy cup when I thought was so fun. However the drink itself is small, it didn't even fill up the whole snowman. My friend got the snow ball drink (gin + wine) and although it was soooooo pretty with the sparkles it has, it was so strong and almost unenjoyable because of that. Again, the drink itself was small only filled maybe a fourth of her glass. The drinks are all $19 which I thought was super pricey for the quality. Overall, I think you pay for the environment here which is so festive and def puts you in the holiday mood, so I'm not disappointed in my visit. They also offer food here but weren't serving the night I came (Thursday night). I would definitely come back here before the holiday season ends and maybe try one of their holiday shots instead!

Jenny T.

Yelp
Shots are $8, drinks are $17. Good atmosphere inside, feels holly jolly. Opens at 5pm and immediately fills up. No cover charge

Yelp
Friends and I had planned to go out for the holidays to see the Christmas Takeover Miracle at PCH which was still closed, and Kona Street Market was also closed on a Sunday night. Super sad. My friend found this Christmas-themed bar instead, which did have promising photos on Yelp, so we did give it a try. The address was strange - we were directed to a bar on Broadway, and when we arrived, it felt like were at a strip club bar. But, it was the right place, the Deck the Halls Bar. Perhaps this is a strip club year round? Lol. Who knows. The decorations did not match the pictures, unfortunately. There were definitely some Christmas themed things, such as the living room area with the chimney, carpet, Mr Grinch, puppets, wallpaper. But it was nothing like the pictures. It seemed like they half-assed everything this holiday season...such a bummer. The menu didn't look too exciting honestly. I got the Snow Globe, which seemed like a typical vodka with spritzer. It was just boring drink that was quite strong. It did come in a very cute snow globe glass though, with a Santa on the inside, although it wasn't sealed correctly, and kept leaking. My friend got the same drink, but hers came out with BLUE liquid for her drink, and was way stronger than mine. Their drinks are not consistent, which was weird. My husband got a Hot Toddy, which is a very basic drink that you can't mess up. I did like the Hot Toddy, for what it's worth. I was definitely impressed with their bathroom though, which looked like it was just remodeled or something. It was super clean, which really surprised me, being that the bar looked so gross. The staff didn't bother to check our covid vax cards, and weren't even wearing masks. So weird. Needless to say, we all left after one round. After coming here, it made me miss the Miracle at PCH even MORE than I already did. Our friends and I are planning to go to Kona Street Market to make up for it sometime later this week. Just a sad time.

Yelp
SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!! I was so excited to come bring my friends from out of town here but... First of all, they are breaking the law. Nobody is at the door. It looked like a group of kids were sitting in the couch area. Nobody checked our ID's ever. And no mask mandate (which I don't care about). Very odd bar experience. Most importantly the drinks were all very overpriced and tasted HORRIBLE!!!! Like, these bartenders should be ashamed to have curated this nasty tasting menu. I will say tho, the decor is very cute and 2/3 drinks were cute, details below: Yellow snow: is a pre-made slushee that just taste like sweet and sour and served in a styrofoam cup. Snow globe: very cute! Love the Christmas duckie inside but the drink is nasty af! It wasn't strong, nasty but like the flavor was just..... watery and not good. Didn't even finish half! Old fashioned (forgot the name): was very strong like an old fashioned should be but maybe they used cheap whiskey? Idk it wasn't good either. This one your drink is in an ornament that sits on top of a glass of ice. So you pour the drink yourself. Very cute.

Megan W.

Yelp
I was so excited to go to a holiday themed bar on Christmas Eve! But this place was such a disappointment. First off there was no vaccination check at the door! My friends and I felt so unsafe about the whole situation and debated even staying. There was even someone entering the bar before us who was upset they had to wear a mask. We decided to just have one cute drink, take a few photos and leave. But wow was it even worth it? The photos were cute as they have a pretty neon sign and nice decorations but the drinks were horrible! We had a few of the snow globes which looked adorable with the themed duckies inside, but they tasted super watered down. My friend also had the old fashion and everyone who tried it literally cringed upon sipping it. Given how unsavory we felt and how bad the drinks were, I wouldn't come back even though the decorations were cute. There are probably better holiday themed bars in the city you could hit up that would have safer practices.

Jen W.

Yelp
What a cute pop up bar that is full of Christmas spirit and booze! You guessed it. Everything was holiday galore. You can't miss the spot with the huge, blown up snowman outside. Inside, you'll find cute decor and a menu with festive drinks. We got there early and were able to order drinks that came in a snow globe, boot, or Santa cup. As the night went on, they ran out of snow globes and started to serve items in regular cups. They also have a full bar if you weren't interested in what they offered on the menu. The servers came around to us many times for additional drinks. It got super busy though so we just ended up going straight to the bar if we needed something. They also had some decent food, Asian and American. Not bad at all. Unfortunately, it is only open for a certain time period so you'll have to wait til next time if you missed this opportunity.

Dianna H.

Yelp
Fun pop up but pricey for what it is. I stopped by the Saturday before Christmas around 8 pm with two other friends, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. There was no line to get in. The space is bigger than expected and had a second floor, which was a pleasant surprise. We were able to snag an empty booth upstairs. The Chrismas decor is fun! That's the real draw of this place, more so than the drinks or food I'd say. I loved the 'Sleigh All Day" sign! All of their drinks are Christmas themed. I tried two. The Holiday Stocking ($13) is Cazadores tequila, pomegranate rose, pineapple, and lime. If, based on the ingredients, you think it is a sweet and fruity drink, then you are absolutely correct. I really enjoyed it and liked that it was served little boot glass, but found myself finishing it in a couple sips because there was SO much ice. For my second drink, I went with the Coquito ($14), which is Barardi and coconut nog. This was also pretty good. More so than alcohol, it tasted like a mix between coconut milk and coconut water, but in a good way. Again, it had way too much ice, though, and I finished it much too quickly for my liking. There was also a small back area on the second floor dedicated to Hanukkah (it was white and blue everywhere), with Hanukkah themed drinks. I didn't get any, but I saw some folks walking around carrying Chinese cocktail containers, and apparently that was one of the drinks back there.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Fun bar with extremely well put-together Christmas decorations. We arrived here on a Saturday at ~8:45pm and it was starting to get packed. I noticed that a long line had formed by ~10pm so I would recommend coming early on the weekends or coming on a weekday. There is definitely a lack of bartenders (given the number of people at the bar) so expect to wait a while to 1. get their attention 2. get your drink. The decorations inside are so pretty so there are a lot of good photo ops :) Be sure to explore both the ground and upper floor! In terms of drinks, I tried the Coquito and Holiday Stockings and both were delicious (and photogenic). The Coquito is more festive and interesting (coconut nog is yummy!) and the holiday stocking tastes more like a regular cocktail. I wanted to get the santa/snowman mug but it looked like that was for the Lil Cocoa drink and I didn't want a hot drink. I recommend checking this place out to have a fun and festive time with friends :)

Carol L.

Yelp
Super fun pop-up Christmas bar in SF! We got there around 15 minutes before opening and a line was forming already so definitely plan ahead. Luckily because we were so early, we got a nice booth to drink and chill at! Tip: it is faster to get drinks at the bar though. The decorations were super cute and SO extravagant. There were giant candy canes, presents, and other xmas sculptures - it made the bar feel like a true Christmas wonderland / Santa's workshop. In terms of the drinks, I really liked the Yellow Snow (hennessy ice blend), the Lil Cocoa (hot cocoa and some type of liquor), and the Reindeer drink (forgot the name but it tastes like a spiked coffee). A little on the pricier end as each drink was $15+ but pretty cool place to check out for a holiday drink!

Connie C.

Yelp
Yo, it was Black Friday, my friend and I were sick of crowds, so we headed over to this Christmas bar I saw on some feed. I forgot if it was 7x7 or funcheap, but either way, we had a great time here. You can't miss this spot, they have this giant snowman up in the front. If you had been drinking lots down Polk, you'll still see it with your blurry vision. I was overwhelmed when I walked in. You know how Alice felt when she fell down the rabbit hole? You know Jack Skellington singing What's This? Yea, that was me. Service was great. We were still trying to figure out what in the world we had stepped into, and we were already guided to a table. We were seated in Candy Cane Lane and I just felt trippy. Multiple servers came by to make sure we had our drinks ordered. What sucks was their candy cane stools. They were not the most stable thing at the bar. Every time I leaned in, I was toppling over. At first I thought I had too much to drink, but I started seeing other tables having the same issue, confirmed it wasn't me! We each had a drink, since we already had like few glasses of bubbles, few glasses of wine. I ordered this Lil Cocoa and my friend had ordered the Tinsel Spritz. She made the right choice, while I got a bit more drunk halfway into the drink. That hot cocoa + mezcal combo got me all warmed up inside, but also got me feeling real tipsy. They had two giant marshmallows in the Santa mug. Super festive. If I came right in without all that bubbles and wine, I'd get it again.

Yelp
I noticed Deck The Halls Bar when I was walking around the neighborhood, so I made a point to stop by. I was able to stop by twice before they ended their service for the year. Love the decorations and kitschiness of it all. Loved the storyline layout of the menu. The bartenders were all great (shoutout to Cory) and the barbacks were amazing about walking around and clearing glasses. The place got packed very quickly both days I went in. The first time, I just peeked in and got a quick shot but I was fortunate enough to find seating just as someone was leaving their table. Here's what I thought of the drinks I got to try: Naughty - I tried this as a shot and as a cocktail. As a shot, since it wasn't chilled, almost tasted like syrup. As a cocktail, it was more palatable but still not something I felt would get me buzzed. The black color was fun. Jolly Old Fashioned - One of my favorite drinks in terms of decor. It comes in glass with ice, garnishes, and a little ornament filled with the actual cocktail. In terms of taste, it tasted like a cranberry juice cocktail. This was a little stronger out of all of the drinks we had, but definitely juicy. Snowglobe - I got this purely for the fact that it was cute. That's all it was because I really hated this one. It tasted like vodka water. Looks aren't everything! Fireplace - I was about to order the cider until I saw someone make flames just for this one. While it was rather sweet, this one was my favorite cocktail out of them all. I felt that it had a good amount of liquor in it and I really enjoyed the fire flair. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here but I didn't love all of the drinks. My biggest complaint of all was the fact that they did not check vaccination cards, which became concerning as more and more people came in and kept the place crowded. I was vaccinated, but I can't be sure of everyone else! I'd like to visit again next year, though I admit I've had better experiences at other holiday bars. Hopefully, management can make improvements for the next pop-up!

Yelp
None of bartenders wore masks, there was no one asking for id or even vaccination cards! Overall not my favorite Christmas bar experience. The drinks were overpriced and nothing super exciting. You could tell the majority of drinks were just pre-made and super simple. The place was so packed that we never even found a place to sit, we just had to stand and have our drinks while we looked for a better place to go.

Yelp
It's way cute but...is it worth it? No staff or patrons wore masks. No one checked vaccination cards or even IDs at the door. The door guy seriously said to me: "you look clean." Drinks were ok, pre-mixed. I liked the Mezcal one. Way too crowded, super-spreader vibes. Go as soon as they open, get your photos, and leave.

Yelp
This was an awesome bar to hit up in the city during the holiday! We ordered the "nice" drink, red bitter ball, traveling duckie, and the Scrooge (beer + shot). I liked the "nice" drink because it had pineapple but it was pretty watered down. I would have added an extra shot if I had known. The red bitter ball is basically hard liquor on ice so it's more bang for your buck. I didn't like the traveling duckie because it tasted like a liquid candy candy/mouth wash. And the Scrooge was a nice way to finish everything off. We also ordered the chicken empanadas which were surprisingly tasty. We devoured those in seconds. It does get quite busy and there's not a lot of sitting space but I also don't know when is the right time to really venture here. Overall, I highly recommend visiting just to say you were able to experience it!

Yelp
I saw this all over social media and had to check it out. Deck the Halls Bar is a seasonal pop-up bar right off Polk. The decorations made me feel like I was inside a toy factory. I felt like a kid again! They had a special menu with creative cocktails and some food items. The drinks were on the sweeter, weaker side. My drink was suppose to come in a cute stocking shaped glass but I guess they ran out ): no biggie. It's ok because they also have shots! I went on the last weekend of the season, so it wasn't as crowded. My group was able to snag a booth after 10 minutes of standing around. You can order drinks at the bar or from a table. The crowd was more sophisticated than your average Polk bar regulars. No one was getting wasted, everyone was just chilling and having a great time. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience!

Yelp
If you know me, you know I love EVERYTHING Christmas. Needless to say it's my favorite holiday. When my gf told me about this place, I knew I had to check it out and it did not disappoint. After dinner, four of us decided to stop by. It was a weeknight and we walked right in with plenty of seating available and a slap in the face with (yep, you guessed it...) CHRISTMAS! It is beautifully decorated and so festive. It will put a smile on any grinch. The bartenders are so friendly, which is truly what gives this place five stars. They go above and beyond to answer your questions, make you feel at home and whip up your tasty drinks. If you want a lit experience (literally), order the Rudolph's Root Beer Flip. Come for a date night, girl's night out, or just cause! This pop-up is cute, fun and definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I came here in 2019 and then again this year at the new location on Broadway. This year's wasn't my favorite but I'm glad that it was open again! Most of the drinks were great and festive, I don't recommend the yellow snow, it was a $15 iced margarita in a small styrofoam cup, but everything else was really good. I recommend going with a smaller group (there is only one big table) and only ordering 1 drink -- it's expensive even for SF!

Yelp
I was so excited that this pop up bar came back this year. I heard about it last year but never had the chance to go. We went on opening day - Friday, November 22. They opened 45 minutes past when they said that they would be opened. We almost went elsewhere but I really wanted to get holiday drinks here. Their drinks are not only cute, but also pretty tasty. I asked about the duckie drink in the ornament that I saw all over Yelp and Instagram. The worker said he didn't know about it. I was very disappointed and sad because now I see it over Instagram again. I guess they were reopening... but it did suck. I was able to try my friend's coquito drink which was really delicious, and another one in a boot which was pretty good too. Mine was the tinsel dust which was okay. There are some food options too for any that wants food. The atmosphere was very fun, lively, and positive so I guess that compensates for the negatives. I loved the Christmas music and the decor. There were many photo ops too!

Yelp
Pretty cool bar me and my girlfriend, and her friends wanted to check this bar out and I decided to come check it out with them after work. The place is really cool but it's kind of small, and it was holiday festive theme of course because who doesn't love the holidays.

Yelp
This was a very fun experience. The bar is decorated so well for Christmas! For those coming to check it out, you'll want to wear your Christmas gear to get in the spirit! All the drinks and snacks are also Christmas themed. We got the hot chocolate drink and the minty one. They were both great albeit on the pricey side. We spent around 20-30 minutes to get into this bar on a Saturday night around 8 pm. We initially had a hard time finding a place to sit but eventually did after around 10 minutes of wandering. There are lots of places to take insta worthy pics. It's a fun spot and I highly recommend checking it out.

Yelp
I had no idea that SF had Christmas-themed bars -- this was so cute!! It was very crowded that we didn't have a chance to sit down. Definitely had the Christmas spirit. The Rudolph's root beer flip was crazy because they lit the drink on fire. An insta-worthy place for sure.

Yelp
This place will for surely get you in the Christmas spirit. The signature drinks were fun and festive. The decorations are oh so Christmassy and everyone there is in a great mood. Do note that the address of the bar has changed and if you search the bar on google maps it'll take you to the old address.

Yelp
My left hand WOman better known as Cadence put me on to this gem. Not sure how she heard about this pop up spot but I'm glad she did. We went after work on opening night to see what all the fuss was about. I really enjoyed the decor and the staff. Both were festive, jolly and made you feel like family. Janice was a delight and so was Michael. There was a female "manager" present who I didn't care for because she was discussing personal business in front of my sister and myself. I won't name names but one employee expressed concern about performing a trick in front of guests and rather than having another employee perform the trick or eliminating it completely she disregarded this employee's concerns and brought a group over to the bar anyway. Everything worked out because the employee but on a brave face but we definitely felt the tension. Now the food and drinks were delicious! Cadence ordered a "Holiday Stocking" and I got a good old fashioned virgin "Lil Cocoa". I love hot chocolate and this was made exactly the way I like it. Topped with two large marshmallows in a super cute Santa mug. We shared an order of Pigs in a blanket + Nacho cheese tater tots! The presentation was nice and fancy lol. Overall slightly elevated bar bites that were perfect for sharing. Small portions for my appetite but that's why you order a little of this and a little of that. I had an opportunity to chat with the pop up owner; very nice and personable. Will definitely come back! Total cost with tax and tip was about $60 ORDER 1. Holiday Stocking 2. Lil' Cocoa (Virgin) 3. Nacho Cheese Tater Tots 4. Pigs In A Blanket

Yelp
This has got to be the cutest pop up bar in town for the holidays. They really went all out with the decor from the iceberg walls to the life-size lollipops. There is even a sled table and Christmas train set to match. My favorite has to be how creative and cute their holidays drinks on the menu are although I didn't get a drink quite as fun. I ordered Beside The Fire ($14) per bartender's recommendations. It was nice and smokey, but simple. If only I was more into a minty flavor, I definitely would've chose the #travelingduckie. How often do you get to drink out of an ornament?! Another awesome item on the menu was the Gingerbread House (yes, you keep the actual gingerbread house that they have elves working on at night), which they had sold out of that night. I'd definitely recommend coming here if you get the chance!

Yelp
Cute little holiday pop-up. It kept showing up on everyone and their mama's social media. So of course I had to stop by on the last day! Drinks are on the pricier side, but that is very typical for a San Francisco bar. Very unique drinks, with a holiday twist! They do have shots though and beer. The ordering was kind of weird. We were lucky enough to get a booth! Those are hard to come by most seats were full at like 9? At first a waitress came, took a card on tap but never came back. It wasn't clear if I had to order from her or I could go do the bar. (Knocking off a star for that). I was planning to go to the bar, but she made it seem like I should order from her to tip her? It wasn't crowded though just full. Music is loud like a bar and the music was good too! It's not a place to spend all night at, it's good for a couple of hours. There is food too, didn't try it since we had dinner before, but people were eating so it can't be bad! The main draw for the bar is how pretty it was for pictures. It was hard taking pictures since the picture spots were filled with people and it's awkward to ask people for pictures as they are trying to drink. I do recommend coming here for a nice cocktail or 2 and catching up with some friends for a holiday exchange!

Yelp
A holiday bar to falalalafall in love with! The decoration is wild. Not to be graphic but if Santa threw up this is exactly what it would look like. Red, green, toys, lights, snow, candy canes, a GIANT SLED ??! The drink menu is fun with so many themed drinks to choose from. I decided to go with the "Let it Snow" and it came in the cutest snowglobe. My only complaint was that there was barely any alcohol in the drink it tasted like a slightly spiked soda. In addition the snow globe was only half filled. The ambiance is great the bartenders get into character with masks and firey shows. Overall experience was great whether it was worth how much we paid is .. .debatable.

Yelp
Went here with friends in the holiday season. It was packed. Elbowed up to the bar, waited for 14 minutes while the bartenders in front of me refused to make eye contact. Finally the bartender with the dangling ear ring took my order with an eye roll. Ordered a round of drinks which took forever. He obviously saw I was not entertained by watching him dance with his coworkers. I paid for my drinks and flipped the checkbook on to the bar. Apparently this was too much because Dangle snatched half the drinks off the bar and asked me to leave. I reached out to the bar and requested a refund for the drinks they charged but they never replied. The bouncer was polite and even admitted that Dangle was high strung while he reluctantly walked me out. Classic gimmick based place that takes itself way too seriously. Why is this review coming now? Because I'm spiteful and petty too.

Yelp
Just had the WORST experience at 1787 tonight 12/9/2022. First off, they were not ready at 5. We walked in and saw a few table marked reserved so we chose a spot without any signage. Once we put our things down, a man named Ryan came to tell us that there would be a party coming in the area we chose. Absolutely fine, we chose a different spot on the complete opposite side. Again, this spot was not marked reserved. Before we could finish our 1 drink, we were asked again by Ryan if we could move because the table we were at was also reserved. So be wary of where you sit or you will be asked to move. On top of all the moving, we had the worst service from Mike the bartender. He had no idea what drinks were made with nor what drinks were available. He was not able to answer any questions about the drinks and had no idea how to make them. On top of our superb service from Mike, we heard him use a homophobic slur in public. In this day an age and in the progressive city that we live in, the use of any type of insulting slurs is just unacceptable

Yelp
Fa la la la la the place was fun. Kitschy Christmas pop-up with sparkly decor and themed holiday drinks. Loved the oversized Grinch head one of the bartenders sported while serving up fiery cocktails flambé. It's only here for a short time so jingle your bells over and share some holiday cheer before the season has passed on by.
