Darori

The perfect mix of elegance and warmth, both in the food and service quality. My partner and I were looking for a special place to enjoy our only dinner night in Fez - we couldn’t have found better. Upon entering, we were impressed with how beautiful the dining room was, and being lucky enough to have come on a quiet night, we felt soothed by the atmosphere. We had ordered in advance the seafood pastilla and a kefta tagine, and added to that a set of Moroccan salads for starters and a couple of mint teas. The balance of flavours between spices and vegetables in the salads was simply perfect, the pastilla was delicate and of extremely high quality, the kefta tagine was flavourful and comforting. Darori is indeed more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but it is of excellent value. A special thank you to Hassan and his impeccable service. We would love to come back!

Wonderful dining experience at Darori. The artisitic decor was beautiful, the food was delicious and Hassan was welcoming host. We had the lamb tagine and chicken pastilla. Both were amazing and packed full of flavour. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Exceptional food and service in the heart of the Fes Medina. The restaurant has delicious and authentic food served with passion and high quality ingredients sought out from the best vendors in town. We liked it so much that we went there a second night in a row, which we never normally do. The owner is French-Maghrebien ensuring authenticity but also the French gastronomic flare. Some dishes need to be pre-ordered, including the vegetable tagine (best one I’ve tried) and Tride - a local meal served with tride pancakes. The staff is super friendly too having explained how many of the dishes are prepared and making us feel very welcome. Shoukran / merci!

Truly exceptional food with amazing staff and a beautiful traditional riad atmosphere. The lady Hanane explained the menu in great detail when we called in the afternoon prior to our reservation that same evening and made us feel very welcomed. On arrival Hassan went above and beyond for us ensuring we were enjoying the meal, explaining more about the cultural history of the dishes we ordered and even walked us to the part of the medina where we could find out way back to our Riad. Overall a great experience and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The best food we have had in Morocco!

If you crave something traditional and amazing or you just need an additional argument that Marrocan food is delicious visit Darori. With a kind and friendly owner, mouthwatering food, beautiful surroundings and a possibility of having good Marrocan vine it would be a shame not to dine here. And please note that some of the dishes have to be prepared in advance, so if you want something specific and time consuming it would be a good idea to call in advance. Anyway... Perfect! An authentic and unforgettable experience! We discovered this restaurant in the heart of Fes and were impressed by the quality of the food and the warm hospitality. The cuisine is authentically Moroccan, with rich flavors and dishes carefully prepared. Every bite tells a story of tradition and culinary passion. A special thanks to Ayoub, who made us feel right at home with his kindness and professionalism. Not only did we eat and drink wonderfully, but the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere made the experience even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true spirit of Morocco and heartwarming cuisine!

We really loved the all the dishes because it was one of the best couscous and bastilla that we tasted in our life. A bit pricey in comparison to other places but the experience is worth it. We had the chance to speak with the owner and understand the history of this place (Dar). My recommendation is too book (by phone) in advance if your choice is couscous or bastilla.
