As a paradigmatic example of a local coffee shop, Damn Fine Coffee Bar stands out in every way. Upon walking in, the rustic charm is immediately felt and the aroma of freshly ground coffee beans brings an attraction in itself. The staff is warm and inviting and are always happy to help you, whether you have a question about the menu or just need a good suggestion. The coffee at Damn Fine Coffee Bar is particularly noteworthy. They always have a variety of roasts and they never pulverize the beans, making sure it is as fresh and premium as possible.

It’s a small shop with a big impact! It’s in a great location so you can go shopping and get your groceries, get your hair nails done, all with your tasty coffee from damn fine coffee bar. They have the classic options and limited to one size but you can add a syrup and flavoring and they have special flavors available as well seasonally. I got an iced caramel latte and it really hit the spot! I grabbed a bar seat looking out the window and got to watch the cute dogs go by. They also have cute merch and a form of a sweater and a hat. Don’t forget to grab your free bowling card!

Google
4 1/2 stars. The coffee was good, the sweets were too. It smells great inside too. I felt rushed when I was placing my order, (I get it, people behind me want there coffee), I just needed a second to think without the huffing and puffing from behind the register. It is a good place though with good coffee.

Google
Small coffee shop with unique offerings and some solid pastries. Interior is well decorated and has nice vibes, but there's only room for about 14 people tops indoors. There's a patio outside as well, but it's not very large either. Service was good and both of the coffees we got were delicious. While being more of a grab & go type place, I can also see this as being a nice place to sit and work, study, or read in spite of the small size. Very worth a visit if you're nearby!

Google
Don't miss this hip lil coffee bar in Logan Square!! I love the branding and interior, but the real winner is the matcha!! I got the Cherry Pie Matcha and omg it's soooo good. I've already been back twice! They also have very yummy vegan donuts. 😋 I love this place and the queer, neighborhoody feel.

Google
Love some damn fine coffee. Their hot raspberry drip is phenomenal, everyone must give it a whirl. The atmosphere is chill and small there but I do love being able to sit right at the bar and watch my gift in a cup be made. Thanks damn fine. Ps. You got to have their donuts if they haven’t ran out yet by the time you arrive there

Google
My go to coffee place for great coffee drinks that strike a good balance between flavoring and natural coffee essence. Not too sweet, not too bitter. I really enjoy their seasonal drinks and the service is super reliable. I go here 2-3 times a week and I’ve never had a bad experience in the year that I’ve been going. Highly recommended. The donuts are good too but you have to get there early in the day if you want one.

Google
Damn Fine Coffee, always fast service! Their lavender latte is an absolute delight and has since become my drink of choice. Their cardamom ginger latte is equally divine! They carry an amazing variety of vegan donuts that rivals any in the city, I've been trying them all. While the Boston cream had me hooked for a while, the blueberry stuffed donut stole the show with its burst of flavor. If you're on the hunt for delectable vegan treats, check this place out. The staff is knowledgeable and also attentive to every detail, ensuring a memorable experience every time. This spot is a must-visit for any coffee and pastry enthusiast!

Google
Should have a partnership with Hoosier Mama so Pies would be available as the Do-rite donuts. The log lady picture (and the wording) in THAT place was such a touché! Enjoyed the maple cayenne. Place for Twin Peaks easter eggs! And Wished drinks had references to the series i.e. DOPPELGANGER, BLUE ROSE, AHHH! I was hitting my knees with the table lol

Kelsey N.

Yelp
Popped into Damn Fine Coffee Bar while I was exploring the neighborhood. For a Saturday afternoon, they were packed with patrons. I had fast service, it was clean and the staff were friendly. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. Appropriately named. I would definitely stop in again.

Ari L.

Yelp
Damn fine? No. Fine? Yes. Pretty average coffee spot. Good donuts. Coffee is just average. A coupe interesting drinks. Not a lot of room to sit. It's really just a grab and go spot. Staff is not friendly but also not unfriendly. This place is fine. Just not damn fine.

Kimmi M.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great Twin Peaks reference. Great aesthetic. What else could you want in a place preparing your bean water? I moved away from Logan, but enjoyed my time being near Damn Fine and wish there was one in my new neighbourhood.

Nazia C.

Yelp
Small coffee shop on Armitage. I tried the Ronit maple cayenne latte which was delightful. There is no food but they had a selection of donuts. There is free wifi available and for seating they have a bar set up and two tables. There were a lot of people coming in and out so it's definitely a friendly neighborhood coffee shop.

Steve A.

Yelp
Came to get breakfast at this appropriately named coffee bar. Damn Fine Coffee is certainly correct. It has kind of a small menu, but they kick ass with all the selections. Funky cool atmosphere. The coffee isn't cheap but not extremely pricy like at a few places. An okay selection of cold and hot brews. It's about $4 for one of the flavored drip coffees. The Raspberry Drip has flavoring, and it doesn't taste like chemical fakeness. Get it cold or hot, or both. Just not that much besides coffee. A few pastries and bites. There's the Taos Baked Bars for about $2 each. Fun hipness in every cup. It has several non dairy milks. There's a few vegan snack bars and whatever.

Miguel M.

Yelp
Good coffee and pastries to eat in or take out I like the lavender , vanilla and mocha latte

Lico J.

Yelp
A pro yet very friendly neighborhood coffee shop that serves good coffee and pastries. They don't roast their own beans but they've got a good selection of beans and a pro machine. We got a regular latte and a donut and really liked them. The latte was nutty, balanced and warm. Foam was slightly thick but the taste was impressive. The donut was very fluffy and yummy - not sure if they made them in house but I would recommend them!

Kt K.

Yelp
I visited this place six years ago and still think about it daily. What a little gem, everything was delicious. Even the vibes in the bathroom are haunting and beautiful. I can't wait to get back to Chicago for another visit. RIP David Lynch, your influence goes far beyond the realm of film.

Kellie Michelle R.

Yelp
This is a Twin Peaks themed cafe, but the coffee is 10/10!!! I had the pistachio latte and Coral was not only friendly and welcoming, but made the coffee so incredibly well!

Joseph Q.

Yelp
Great spot down the street from my airbnb. Beautiful neighborhood to walk through in the summer of June 24'. Im on tour and have a show later today and couldn't have found a better experience. I also tried the chocolate caramel donut and it will be on my mind for awhile. Server was really chill as well.

Sam S.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, really kind staff. But, they sell croissants and have no way of warming them up?? Don't get me wrong a cold one is alright but would've been nice warm. ¯\_(_)_/¯

Carlyn H.

Yelp
Amazing service, they're so helpful and competent, the woman working helped us pick out a dozen delicious donuts and our lattes were perfectly sweetened.

Kris R.

Yelp
Great spot down the street. Beautiful neighborhood to walk through in the summer of Aug 24'. I'm on tour and have a show later today and couldn't have found a better experience. I also tried the chocolate caramel donut and it will be on my mind for a while.

Nancy Ann M.

Yelp
Great price and atmosphere. I stopped in for a late afternoon cortado and it did not disappoint. Pastries are available but I want there until 4 and missed them. Lots of electric available so you can sit and work while enjoying your coffee. Dog friendly! There are even treats and water available by the front door. Staff is friendly. I will return.

Yesenia S.

Yelp
Damn fine coffee bar has a delicious iced matcha. If you enjoy matcha this is definitely a spot to try! I haven't tried any other teas or coffees but I will be trying more off their menu. There is plenty street parking available.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Great coffee! I ordered a vanilla oat milk latte. It was by far one of the smoothest lattes I've ever had. And I've certainly Lu had my share. The menu is small. The place was a little quiet and sterile for my liking. But the coffee was definitely great.

Natasha S.

Yelp
Another great coffee shop in Chicago! The Iman - Cardamon, Vanilla, Ginger & Triforce Espresso The espresso and flavors together are so delicious! Added bonus, all profits of this drink are donated to Inner-City Muslim Action Network. The service was excellent. Prices reasonable. Again, no seating inside except for counter at the window. Mostly just order and grab to go!

Reah A.

Yelp
Great coffee shop in the Logan Square area! Currently there is no seating inside, and only 4 people allowed in at one time, but the lattes are great. I tried a special monthly latte, Chi-Nation, and it was delicious. Service was quick, and there's paid street parking. I'll definitely be back!

Andie C.

Yelp
Good coffee with delicious vegan donuts. Small cafe with wifi and intimate seating space.

Jocelyn H.

Yelp
The ambiance, the coffee, the decor, the baristas were all immaculate. Service was quick and very friendly. 10/10 recommend

Lily R.

Yelp
Nice open feel, though only so much seating. Staff were lovely and pour over coffee was bold and flavorful. They have a $5 bottomless option for those of us who indulge in seconds unfortunately the wifi kept going out while we were there and it was pretty chilly inside even though it was a pleasant temp outside. There are a few pastry options but not the place for a meal.

Georgia H.

Yelp
Earl grey parsnip bread and maple cayenne latte with oat milk.

Chanpreet K.

Yelp
Damn Fine you are... I knew this place existed walking distance from my apt but I never seemed to stop by, which doesn't make any sense.. so this time around I found an excuse to check it off my list. Came here around 3ish and it had decent number of people inside. The server was very cordial and didn't make much fun of me when I answered "normal milk" upon asking which milk I preferred in my coffee.. Jeeez why did I say that I got a large cappuccino which was tasty and then I also got a cortado because yuhuuuu caffeine hits. Cortado was delicious! Music was a bit too loud for studying but I did end up discovering some really cool tracks.. thanks to some shameless *siri what song is this* They do have some Donuts and munchies for snacking.. nothing too elaborate. Overall, does the trick for a cool neighborhood coffee spot

Kyle P.

Yelp
This is fast becoming one of the coolest stretches in the city. Damn Fine Coffee Bar is a small shop next to Ground Control on Armitage. They get their coffee from Halfwit, but also showcase other roasteries each month. Some cold brews are thin and lack flavor, but this was excellent. They also have very good espressos and more. The local coffee scene is exploding in this city, and DFCB is not one to miss. A hip spot with great coffee at reasonable prices.

Brett B.

Yelp
They got decent donuts now they've finally ditched the forced vegan heavy on the coco oil from the co-op local quarantine baker option. Still not stoked on being forced vegan only baked goods and they make one hell of a weak ass chai latte. This shop is best named with a long sad pause between its name. Damn it. It's fine. Never good never great. Always damn. Just fine.

Leah J.

Yelp
This was such a cute coffee shop. I wanted a cute local coffee shop and this is exactly what I had in mind! I absolutely LOVED the name of the coffee bar also lol. When you walk in, it smells amazing. The decorations are very inviting also. We waited in line for a bit, but it was worth it. The workers were trying their best to accommodate everyone's order. When we placed the order, I was contemplating between warm coffee or iced coffee and I went with the hot coffee. I am so happy I chose that. It was delicious. Pros Cute shop Customer service The shop name Location Decorations Cup sizes were appropriate Cons Small coffee shop I will be back to visit! I live in Indianapolis, so I won't be able to come back for awhile but def will grab a cup when I'm back in town!

Yelp
I may or may not have jumped on the CBD bandwagon recently, and I wasn't aware that DF is one of the establishments that have incorporated it into their menu. A friend and I met up here to do work together and it was not as packed as I anticipated. I was a little worried about seating at first since it's not a huge space, but it wasn't an issue the day we came in (it was a Friday so who knows if people just opted to work from home). There were a couple of people who stayed there for a couple of hours like we did, but there was plenty of seating left. Anyway, my CBD-infused honey latte was good. Tbh, I've never thought about how caffeine and CBD would meld together since one is a stimulant and the other is supposed to be calming. Color me intrigued. No, it didn't taste any different for those of you wondering, but I did notice that I was less jittery. I remained focused for a couple of hours until 3pm when we ditched everything to go to happy hour :)

Yelp
Howdy, my fellow "Twin Peaks" fans, please gather 'round. My log doesn't judge, but I do, and I approve of this coffee shop 100%. ...That was extremely nerdy, let me start again: If you're into coffee shops with unique menus and subtle themes, then Damn Fine Coffee Bar is your spot. The moment I came across this coffee shop on Yelp, I knew from the name that it was at least a slight nod to one of my favorite '90s shows, and actually experiencing the business yesterday made me feel genuinely comforted. Let me explain further. If you were to walk in off the street not knowing anything about the show "Twin Peaks," you would simply assume that those who designed this shop have specific, yet stylish taste, and that they like trees. But as a fan of the show, I noticed some tiny and tasteful details that really make DFCB a true treat, like the WiFi password that's a nod to the villain of the show, the tiny Funko pop of dead Laura Palmer on a shelf, and of course the chevron-patterned wall behind the cash register, which reflects the floor design in the red room/waiting room in the show. These are all special little touches, and whoever designed this place truly did a wonderful job. As I said earlier, the menu was intriguing as well: along with your regular coffees and lattes, they were offering a special drink yesterday: a CBD latte with honey (CBD = "cannabidiol," which is legal in Illinois because there is no THC). Sure, I saw the $6 price tag and thought, "it's just caffeine," but I'm always up for trying new things so I spent that $6, my friend. Since that was my first time trying a CBD latte, I really paid attention to the way it made me feel as opposed to regular coffee, and I'd probably describe the feeling as "caffeinated yet still calm." Usually when I drink coffee late in the day, my heart pounds a lot and I wonder if I've already drank too much. This made me feel awake but calm. Make sense? It also never got too loud in here, the barista was very quick with my drink and the rest of the staff was kind, the restroom was clean and well-kept, and there were plenty of seats and outlets available when I showed up at 1pm on a Wednesday. To sum this up: Visit DFCB, tip your baristas, and stay caffeinated!

Yelp
A nice, small coffee shop located in Logan Square (next to ground control). The lattes are pretty good. Space is modern/industrial and offers space for working in small groups or alone (lots of seating on stools and a few chair options). Importantly, the WiFi always works!

Anpan W.

Yelp
Loved the flavored lattes, donuts, the attention to detail as to whether we would have vegan conflicts with pastries and bevs. The person at the register listened to our preferences and suggested a whole bean coffee that has become a new house favorite. Do feel that things are getting out of hand with the $17 12 oz of coffee in Chicago. But also want to support small businesses during the pandemic.

Hannah C.

Yelp
tried the C.A.F. which is a specialty item on the menu rn and i really loved it. any cardamom tea is always a good idea, and the beet juice made it very pretty :) loved how they/their customers happily enforce covid guidelines w only 4 customers allowed inside at a time, and people are respectful enough to leave as soon as they get their coffee to make room for others. good vibes all around thank u damn fine

Vanessa C.

Yelp
I mostly come here for the vegan pastries by beacon donuts. I love beacon donuts. the demographic here is primarily white and the drinks aren't anything special but def expensive. I do appreciate they have dog treats available and tennis balls if your dog is into that.

Ashley A.

Yelp
What a great environment and the coffee was delicious as well. They are very clean and safe and it completely makes sense why there is always a line out the door!

Kathy T.

Yelp
What's up Logan Square? Can't a gal enjoy a coffee along with a little coffee shop relaxation time in these parts? This place is tiny and little more than a walk-up window (at least you're allowed to step in from the cold). And what few accommodations, as in tables and chairs, they do have to welcome the weary explorer are off limits despite COVID mandates having been relaxed. Lastly, to my mind a cold brew shouldn't automatically have a milky substance poured into it without first checking with the customer. A bit disappointed...

Alice W.

Yelp
It was good! the place isn't twin peaks themed so don't come over with kitschy expectations. But it's good coffee and a cute lil spot. Don't plan on staying long.

Trishla S.

Yelp
Wish I could give this place less stars but at least they knew how to make wifi work. Came in randomly when we were in the area one day because of the high rating and went to order. We are two very shy people and have both worked in the resturant/ wait staff industry so we understand bad days. But this was beyond that. The woman behind the counter seemed more interested in her book than speaking to us (even when we mhm slightly she took our order like she was doing us a favor). One black coffee, one chai tea. Worst choice ever. The black coffee was burned and the tea was more sugar and sprinkled cinnamon than anything else. I know I'm spoiled when it comes to chai tea( hello mom & all of India) but this was truly one of the world cups I've ever tasted. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Will not be returning but wish them the best.

Ann P.

Yelp
One of my fav Logan Square coffee shops. Great cold brew and oat milk latte's, Do Right Donuts, galore. The baristas are super friendly and welcoming. They take the time for informal chat and seem really interested in the customer. COVID friendly, outdoor tables, coffee bliss.

Bonnie N.

Yelp
I just moved to the neighborhood and this coffee shop has been a silver lining. Loved the treats and the gf and vegan items. Coffee was great have only had the drip but i been going everyday I'm sure I'll get thru the menu. The STAFF is amazing. My first time in my card wouldn't work and they still let me have my order the next day when i went back to pay they told me it's alright! They have great hospitality and give the traditional neighborhood vibe. So happy it's walking distance my pup love the dog treats they have out.

Krisy L.

Yelp
I was out walking my dog with my brother and stumbled upon this quaint coffee shop. At the moment they only have a service window to order from and benches outside to use. I decided on a Carmel latte and it was delicious. I took the top off to cool it off for a bit and noticed the barista had put a cute leaf design over it. It was a to go order and I love that they were so detailed !

Kelly N.

Yelp
Hopefully the appearance of Damn Fine Coffee Bar will begin an influx of new coffee shops in the area because lord knows we need them. I was beyond thrilled to discover this place opening literally around the corner from me. I mean who doesn't love the reference to Twin Peaks? that alone had me pressed against their window foaming at the month with anticipation for opening day. Finally they opened shop and I could get my coffee fix just steps away from my apartment. So far I have been afraid to explore the other drink options and stick to what I know I like which is the cappuccino. The baristas are always so friendly and often strike up a conversation which I do appreciate since it makes the experience far more personable. The menu isn't too crazy with options but I am pretty simple when it comes to my coffee intake so I am pretty happy with the selection. They do sell pastries which vary; one day I will indulge and snag a cinnamon roll since they always pair so well with any coffee choice. I love the decor and there is a decent amount of seating: 3 tables(one is a large table) as well as bar stool seating near the window and along the area where you order. Thank you for opening up shop in an area that was always tired in the morning because we never had a coffee option.

Arvetta S.

Yelp
I have frequented Damn Fine a handful of times to purchase a quick cup of coffee. The service is quick, friendly and their drip is flavorful and robust. I assumed the rest of their products would be just as satisfactory but boy, was I wrong. I wanted to try their ham and Swiss croissant but they were out which was no big deal. Instead I settled for a more interesting choice, the Butternut Squash croissant. I purchased the pastries that were $4/piece and went home to enjoy them. After just one bite it was obvious that I wasted my money. The croissant was neither flaky nor crisp but burnt and tough. The bottoms were hard as a rock surpassing the golden brown color that is characteristic of a well made pastry of this kind. This was not even the worst part. The butternut squash center was bland and salty. It tasted more of tired whipped Idaho potatoes that were once freeze dried. As someone in the food and beverage industry I am shocked that a modern 3rd wave coffee bar would settle for food that is below standard. Not only do I blame the bakers for this underwhelming experience I am surprised at the oversight of the employees. Why would you present pastries that are below standards and have the gall to sell them at a high price point? Get it together, folks. To say the least, I will DEFINITELY stick to just a cup of coffee from now on.

Edward P.

Yelp
the cayenne latte & chocolate glazed donut was bomb, had some caramel drizzle on top. Definitely worth the stop!

Stephen M.

Yelp
I was casting about for a nearby coffee shop. Casted to here. Comfortable interior, relaxed setting. Latte gets the highest marks.

Maggie R.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop. Stopped by with a few girlfriends while visiting Chicago. Got some treats and some teas and coffees to go. Great vibe, nice service and good quality stuff! Will definitely stop by again next time I'm in the area. Also the name of the coffee shop is great, ha ha.

Karina M.

Yelp
One of the few places that offers lavender . Super friendly staff. One of my fave coffee shops when I am in town.

Belle L.

Yelp
What a waste of $$. Stick to easy coffee basics. Heavy carb pastry. Decent outlets. Good concept that fails to execute. RONITADO ($3) -- my first curdled soy milk! Nasty. Quality ingredients becomes highly questionable. COCONUT CUSTARD -- glaze held the outside very well. Flakey. Dry. Nothing to brag about coconut custard. COFFEE BEANS -- by HALFWIT. Literal meaning to this coffee shop? OUTLETS -- limited to walls and barista counter. VENUE -- limited. Clean and organized. SERVICE -- friendly, knows it's neighbors and regulars.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Damn Fine Coffee Bar just opened up in Logan Square, near the section of Armitage that boasts Ground Control, Sink/Swim, and Scowfflaw. I'm pretty thrilled since this place is within walking distance, and they are now the first coffee shop within at least a 1 mile radius. Armitage Ave's offering of such coffee shops has been wanting, and there's a huge gap in places to get caffeinated. More than getting your energy fix, the interior is set up as a great place to hang out and stick around while you enjoy a nice Cold Brew or Cortado (perfect for the neighborhood). Their house roast is Halfwit Coffee Roasters, and they will have a rotating selection on a monthly basis. They also serve pastries from Pleasant House Bakery. In terms of taste, their coffee is on par with that of Gaslight and Dark Matter!

Daniel F.

Yelp
Good small coffee shop off Armitage Ave. Low on indoor seating, and I wish the hours were expanded. But the coffee and espresso is fresh, well crafted, and good quality. Friendly staff.

Emily T.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in the customer service. I was a loyal neighborhood customer, but not anymore. Glad there are new coffee shops moving in, so I don't have to deal with the awkwardness/rudeness of their staff. Their coffee and drinks were never that great anyway and completely over priced.
