Nestled in Peconic, Croteaux Vineyards offers a picturesque escape with delightful rosé, charming ambiance, and exceptional hospitality from an all-women team.
"Croteaux is one of the only wineries in the US that exclusively makes rosé, and they’ve really leaned into the “Rosé All Day” ethos. There’s a cute shoppy shop with candles and branded pastel dad hats right when you enter their picturesque courtyard, and the sunny picnic tables have wide, quilted benches that are comfy even when wearing teeny shorts or a sundress. They also have a big food menu with things like lobster roll sliders that go great with a glass of sparkling cuvée. " - anne cruz
"This is off the beaten path of the vineyards lining the North Fork, and it makes for a nice change of pace, with a wonderful garden and tasting barn, and delicious rosé. Everyone’s got a glass of rosé or bubbly rosé, and most folks will order a flight—they’re cheap by Manhattan standards. We love the selection of rosé sparklers, of which you can order a trio at a time, including the deep, juicy Cabernet Franc sparkler (if they have it). Do know that the bar is a warm-weather operation and will reopen before April." - Alex Van Buren, Andrea Whittle, Devra Ferst
"Croteaux has a wide roster of rosé to choose from, so everyone from your aunt who has a WSET certification to your cousin who just turned 21 can find something to enjoy. The shaded outdoor garden and comfy, quilted picnic benches are also an ideal spot to park yourself for a leisurely lunch, since they have more substantial food options than just charcuterie boards. Get an order of lobster roll sliders and a basket of beach fries to keep you fueled up for managing the fragile diplomacy of friend groups colliding or hanging out with your mom. Just don’t be surprised if you’re tempted to buy a cute branded sweatshirt and $30 candle in a rosé-induced haze. " - anne cruz

Just be warned that the pebbled courtyard and pathways don’t play well with heels, and your fit-pic isn’t worth a twisted ankle." - Anne Cruz
