"Bo-Bec makes soft serve, sorbet, frozen yogurt, and traditional ice cream, with a wide range of flavours on hand — although the maple is perhaps the most beloved. The shop’s proximity to Laurier Park means it’s extra popular throughout the summer." - Valerie Silva, Ashley Joseph

"I Scream, You Scream This place is nothing short of a local institution. Bo-Bec has served countless cones and ice cream sandwiches since it opened in the late 1980s, but the owner never changed the warm, genuine smile he offers every customer who walks in. And that makes all the difference. Bo-Bec doesn't serve just any ice cream. Everything is handmade, and about half of the flavors available at the counter are original concoctions, be it maple nougat or rose water strawberry. They even have vegan ice cream! The perfect spot for a post-dinner treat or to take away and eat in the massive park around the corner."

Google
Without a doubt, THE BEST ice cream shop in Montreal. The soft serve is delicious and they also have a lot of other flavours. The ice lemonade is perfect for hot days. The best part is that if you bring your dog (they cannot get into the store -blame the MAPAQ- so dogs have to wait outside but there’s a small sitting area on the street), they get a free tiny vanilla cone (safe for pups, of course). Finally, the staff is super friendly. They’re awesome!

Google
Five stars on everything. Our youngest was looking for ice cream and spotted it as we were driving by just in a quiet neighbourhood of Montreal. We apologized for not being able to speak. fluent French, and they were quite kind. Ice cream is homemade , it is top-notch, it’s reasonably priced and the ladies that were serving us were incredibly nice. They have little tiny mini cones to put vanilla ice cream in to give the people’s dogs. They’re just nice people with really good ice cream. You need to go there.

Our first ice cream of the season was on a beautiful sunny day and early enough to be maple taffee flavoured! But that was only one of the many, varied and delicious flavours that @cremeglaceebobec boast in their quaint, traditional eclectic ice cream shop. Not to mention the very long list of milkshake and slush flavours to quench that thirst when it gets even warmer

Extremely friendly stuff, amazing ice cream, le banana royal is just beyond! Just look at the size of it, 3 scoops feeds two people and just 14$!

This store deserves 5⭐️. The ice-cream was excellent include the waffles. The staff were very nice and sympathetic. It worth with the price. For who are new in Mon-Royal Plateau, try it!!!

Google
Delicious ice creams, soft serves, and lemonade, some flavors homemade on rotation. I really liked the orange creamsicle flavor ("pop orange") and my son loved the rainbow sprinkles. I just wish they had more seating!

Google
Delicious ice creams! Coconut is my favorite flavor. Sit outside at the benches and appreciate life happening in the Laurier avenue.

Google
Interesting flavours and decent homemade ice-cream. Despite clearly having a good business with lots of customers, very cheap with regular customers. I asked for a glass of water for my four-year-old son, to accompany his ice-cream. They made us buy a plastic bottle.

Yelp
Never heard of Crème Glacée Bo-Bec, an ice cream spot, until I read about it on Montreal Eater. I decided to give them a shot on a late Thursday afternoon. They have 24 flavours and each flavour side is coded by colour (blue for ice cream, green for sorbet and brown for yogurt). There's also a million specials on the boards such as blizzards, milkshakes, banana splits, soft serve and drinks). One scoop is $4.25, two scoops is $6.25 (taxes included in the price). I was able to sample two flavours before choosing. Service is a bit brisk. - Kulfi ($4.25 single) - never tried this before; it's a mix of Indian spices (ginger, cumin and cardamom) and four types of nuts. You get full pieces of nuts too. I tasted pecan and hazelnut. Creamy, refreshing like a chai (but better). Only unfortunate thing is it melted quickly outside. Cash only.

Yelp
Delicious erable et noix ice cream! So creamy and great consistency. Very friendly service. The milk shake was made with soft serve base, but seemed to use syrup for flavoring. Maybe just not what we are used to in the states - it wasn't as thick as a nice frappe.

Yelp
I saw someone rating this place as being better than Kem Coba, so I had to try. In my humble opinion, this place is a solid 4 stars for me but I wouldn't compare it to Kem Coba; Boc Bec delivers DIFFERENT flavours. It's like comparing apples and oranges- very personal and different. I appreciate and love the fact that this place offers different types of ice cream other than your usual "cookies and cream". When you go there, you must try Maple Taffy and Kulfi (Indian ice cream)- if you are a little adventurous, you won't be disappointed in these flavours. PS. I drove 50mins to try this ice cream.

Yelp
I went here on strong recommendation of a friend and I'd say it's just alright. Of the three ice cream flavours I tried, the strawberry and cookie dough were decent but the ferrero rocher was gritty, like the cocoa powder or some other ingredient hadn't been well worked in. For the price ($20 for 4 cones with a modest tip), I think you can find some better options nearby. That said, the line was long but moved very quickly and the staff were pleasant and efficient, so if you're nearby and not picky, go for it.

Yelp
It's an ice cream shop near Parc Laurier and I went there for a dessert break on Restaurant Day. They serve super decadent ice-cream! Very creamy and a bit on the sweet side. My favorite flavor is probably caramel and fleur de sel.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
I ordered the 'pâtes de biscuits' (cookie dough) flavor and it was probably the creamiest ice cream I have ever had. That being said, it tasted amazing. However, I ordered it in a cone and decided to eat it while walking back to my place (which is about four minutes away). The ice cream started melting almost as soon as I got out and started dripping all over my hand, so order in a bowl to avoid messes!

Yelp
Amazing ice cream parlour!!!! We were staying at an air bnb nearby, and opted to treat myself to a cone before I head home. Man, was the ice cream CREAMY. Though, the cone is not the best quality, the ice cream itself trumphs most places I've had. Get it in a cup if it satisfy you. Bottom line: TRY IT, you won't be disappointed. Wish I discovered it earlier. would've had a cone everyday!!!!

Yelp
There is this thing that happens, on a twice weekly basis during the summer. My husband and I will be sitting on the couch in the evening, reading or writing or watching tv, when one of us will look at the other, and say "Hey, um, what about - " and, seriously, before the word "ice cream" is even pronounced, we are halfway to Bo-Bec. ALL of their home made ice cream flavors are delicious, they also have a fairly good selection of sorbets. I'm not totally clear on the vegan options, and I don't think that there are a ton, but I'm sure they exist. I find that no matter what kind of mood I'm in - from mango sorbet, to kulfi (a somewhat chai-like concoction) and pistachio, to crème glacée molle dipped in dark chocolat belge, this place satisfies. Always follow a trip to Bo-Bec with a walk around Parc Laurier. Them's the rules.

Yelp
This place got so many good reviews I just had to try it for myself , being the ice cream lover that I am ! This has the look of your typical old school ice cream parlour. it was pretty busy but the lineup was moving fast. The staff wasn't overly friendly but not rude and they were quite efficient. The prices are in the same range as most ice cream places in the area (but the downside is they're cash only). the ice cream itself was good but I can't say I was blown away. I had the kulfi ice cream which has nice texture and interesting spiced flavour kind of like chai , it was refreshing and original. Their cookie dough ice cream was just okay , the flavour was a little lack lustre and the texture was a bit strange (the good part was they had lots of cookie dough chunks inside). This wasn't a bad experience but I can't say the ice cream was anything more than just ordinary, nothing overly memorable. There's Laurier park in walking distance so if you're hanging out at the park or if you're on Laurier craving some ice cream this isn't a bad option by any means but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
This is one of my favourite ice cream shops in Montreal. I've only been a couple of times, but each time I was thoroughly satisfied and wanting to figure out reasons to justify a return visit. All kinds of neat flavours, ranging from chocolatey decadence to fruity sorbet, there's something for everyone, and most likely something you've never tried. On my most recent visit I sampled the kulfi and was wowed by the delicious spices, and big pieces of nuts. I have a love/hate relationship with the location: its a minute or two walk from Laurier park, the ideal location for ice cream consumption; on the flipside, why isn't it next door to my apartment? Oh right, so I eat something other than ice cream during heat waves. The prices are a little more expensive than usual, especially for the specialty flavours, but this is justified by the high quality of the product. Taxes are included, which is nice. They only accept cash.

Yelp
Great corner old-school ice-creme shop. I'm here every summer with my kids. It's also next to my favorite park so it's full of win...

Yelp
La meilleure creme glacée a Montreal! My absolute favorite. The owner is a dedicated, talented man who has a passion for all things delicious. Handmade, artisan ice cream at it's best. My favorite is the kulfi ice cream, an Indian spice ice cream that is as tasty as it is original. Other wonderful flavors are salty chocolate, strawberry basil sorbet and maple. The flavors change around a lot, they did offer a vegan ice cream (cherry tofu!) although I'm not sure if it's still around. The staff is efficient, kind and attentive, the shop is clean and there's nothing to complain about, at least for me. Seriously, if you're eating ice cream anywhere else in Montreal, you're missing out. Big time.

Yelp
We have visited Montreal every year from central NY and we now make sure to come in May in order to get the seasonal maple vanilla ice cream. It is simply spectacular! The local maple is thick and gooey throughout a creamy rich vanilla hard ice cream. Any of their hard ice cream flavors are great - we prefer this place to Ripples. The owner is a friendly gentleman. They have a fridge with yummy cookie ice cream sandwiches too. They are cash only, and the maple ice cream costs a bit more than the other flavors. YUM!!

Yelp
I don't really have a favorite ice cream parlor but I must say that this is one of the better ones. As the summer is quickly winding down (yes, already!), do yourself a favor and skip the Bilboquet a block away and head to Bo-Bec next time you're in that part of town. It's cheaper too and has some interesting flavors! Come on, satisfy your sweet tooth! You know you want to!

Yelp
A Classic .. Bo-Bec Ice cream is known for the hard ice cream .. Real home made great choice of flavour .. Need to try Caramel fleur de sel or Kulfi with is basically Chai spices .. Delicious .. We treat ourself at lease one or twice a week ;-)

Yelp
I first discovered this place when I moved here, because it was nearby, and the best thing about this place is that it introduced me to tofu ice cream, and it was awesome. As a lactose intolerant type, having to give up ice cream was sad, but worse than that, was the horrible substitutes that I had to try and dislike. By far the tofu ice cream is my favourite substitute! It's the perfect place for a summertime cone!
