This producer of artisanal cheeses is a place to pick up cheese for a snack or picnic and to ask questions about California cheese. Let the person know what type of cheese you like or are looking for, and you will be treated to samples until you find just the right one. My favorites on my last visit came from Vella Cheese from Sonoma."

Whenever I'm in the city, Cowgirl Creamery is a must visit. I am absolutely in love with their cheeses, they have the creamiest and richest cheese I've ever had. Also, you must try grabbing breakfast at their food shop. Their yogurt and granola is amazing, and their grilled cheese is sensational. It really is a great way to start off your day. I like to arrive at the Ferry Building early before it gets busy and just enjoy taking my time here for brunch.

Didn't eat in the cafe on site, but bought some cheeses to snack on later. Wide range and huge selection of artisan cheeses from around the world. Asked to try various ones after explaining what we liked and the associate recommending a few. Thought the service was awesome. Ended up with about $25 of cheeses and ate those later in the day in the hotel. Great shop to get your dairy fix. And this coming from a Wisconsin Cheesehead, so its gotta be good.

Great place. Nice extension if you don't want to drive all the way to the creamery up North. Lots of items. Friendly employees too that will help you with questions and tastings. There's a restaurant of theirs right next door too. And also the Acme bread stall to the other side as well to pair with your cheeses, jams, and cured meats.
