This definitely had old school hotel culture/Grand Budapest movie vibes because of its impeccable hospitality and architecture. Apparently Wes Anderson visited the hotel archivs for inspiration. Famous celebs from back in the day frequented here.
We arrived late and the front desk lady asked if it was my birthday. She congratulated me on my birthday. She upgraded us to the executive suite because she said the room we booked was longer available.
It was hands down the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The room didn’t have a number and only a name. Mahogany everything. A maid who checked in on us. There was two entrances, a dining room, a living room, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, walk in closet, etc.
Going forward, I compare every hotel room to this one. Thank you again for the kind gesture and I can’t say enough kind words about our stay.
