Congee Queen(Yonge&Dundas)

I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times, and it remains a great spot for family dining. Conveniently located near Eaton Center, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The congee here is smooth and velvety, perfect for the chilly weather. Their roast duck, BBQ pork ribs, and char siu have a subtle sweetness and share a similar flavor profile. While (Chow -Mein) the seafood with crispy noodles were delicious. The restaurant serves warm tea, which complements the meal well. The seating is spacious and comfortable, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. One downside is that the number of servers seems insufficient given the restaurant’s size. However, the staff remained attentive and did their best to accommodate everyone efficiently.

The most expensive location for congee queen, you got no choice if u live DT. Food in general is ok but quality I feel is not as good as uptown. Portions big and some dishes I ordered gave me the thirst after eating ，a sign of too much salt or msg. Wonton soup base was very weak, not much flavour. I really like the spicy salt squid, crispy pork avoid, not crispy at all and not very good. Still with the flaws I think it's still the best chinese in DT. If you pay in cash, there's 5% discount

Very convenient Congee Queen location for downtown folks with a wide range of items to select from their menu. We ordered Chili Turnip Patties, XO Sauce Beef Rice Noodles and Beef Rice Noodle with Mushroom & Truffle. Food was ok but a bit on the oily side. I've ordered the same items at some of their other chains and it tasted slightly better. You can use their iPad near the front to register/wait in line and you can order at your table using the QR code. It's more efficient but there are many tables inside so if it's a busy day, it can be hard to flag someone down to get the bill or have them refill the tea pot.

Classic cantonese cuisine with decently tasty food. A particularly great spot for group dining as they serve larger portion dishes meant for family style sharing. Fair portions for price and served relatively quickly. Very spacious and ample seating - there is a basement level so the store is bigger than you might expect!

Good congee! Wanton noodles r Q but broth lacks a little more flavour. Rice rolls are kinda thick to chew but I'm a picky eater. Fried rice is on point, crispy cuttlefish is perfect. Service is prompt.

Order mango shrimp salad. It tastes so different compare before we tried in north York location. The waitress told us different location different recipe. Then please change different location different name. Never come back.

First and foremost, I would recommend opting for takeout instead of dining in at this restaurant. When my partner and I arrived, we were greeted by the host, but there was no smile, enthusiasm, or warmth. She simply asked how many people would be dining and led us to our table. After placing our order through their website, the servers brought out our food but didn't engage with us at all. They just placed the dishes on the table without a word. It would have been nice if they had said something like, "Enjoy your meal" or taken a moment to explain the dishes. The most frustrating part, however, was that it took nearly ten minutes for me to get the bill. We arrived around 6:30 pm, and while the male worker seemed to be the only one with a decent attitude, the rest of the staff looked completely uninterested in their work. They never checked in with us, instead just glancing over from the other side of the restaurant to see if we were raising our hands. After that, they’d go back to doing nothing or cleaning tables. The service here is poorly managed, and the staff seems more focused on rushing customers out rather than providing a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. This is the first review I’ve ever written, but the poor service my partner and I received left such an impression that we couldn’t stop talking about it the entire night. We found ourselves questioning things like, "Were they treating us this way because of our race?" and "What was their problem?" These questions lingered with us, ultimately ruining what should have been an enjoyable evening. Conclusion: Don’t dine in at this restaurant.

I discovered this restaurant by chance when I walked past it, and I can tell you that it's my favorite place in To! To tell you the truth, I went there twice during my 3-day stay. The menu is incredible, all the dishes are delicious! and the portions are consistent for a really affordable price. I dream about the salt and pepper squid every night 😍
