"Community Cuppa Central Makati's Salcedo Village is abuzz with the energy of Manila’s creative circle. The coffee at Commune, undoubtedly, fuels this buzz. The community-minded café is a hub of activity at all times: Mornings see neighbors schlepping in for their sleepy breakfast fix, lunch hour is packed with multi-taskers having a meeting while tucking into the local Filipino menu. By mid-afternoon, the space fills with freelancers typing away, rewarding themselves with custom cupcakes while in the background, fashionistas pose for selfies with Commune's popular 3D latte art. The post-dinner crowd saunters in for a second caffeinated wind paired with warm, homemade apple pie and conversation. The vibe here is casual and friendly. But most importantly, the coffee is potent. Commune salutes its community by using locally sourced and roasted coffee beans. Meanwhile, their drinks are served up in beautifully handcrafted pottery mugs. (I wanted to smuggle one home. In every color!) When in Manila, get to know Salcedo Village, starting at Commune. Because when you’re here, though you may just be a visitor, you’ll feel right at home."

THIS IS WORTH THE HYPE ✨️ Coffee - superb! Ordered the capuccino coz i want to have my coffee with art, so cuuute! And reminding you that their coffee is in a big mug so its a big sized coffee. Im sad i wasnt able to finish mine coz were in a hurry. Definitely coming back! Food - we go with the rice bowls coz were a bit hungry with no breakfast eaten yet. Everything tastes delicious and fresh! Although the serving is quite small for a tummy thats hungry. But its still worth it. Staff - very kind and helpful Prices - kind of on the pricey side but its really worth it. None of our orders taste bad - satisfied customers here 🫶 Parking - hard to find parking nearby. Another customer parked in the street in front of the shop but was clamped, sad for them.. Ambiance - super cozy, great choice of music played in their speakers.

Just as the name suggests, this place has a very communal (and community) feel. The service was outstandingly friendly, the coffee was delicious, and the suggested pastry was fantastic. It was a joy to caffeinate among such a great vibe. It’s a large space with plenty of seating. They also proudly sell Filipino coffee beans, which is a gem for specialty coffee people, since it’s not often you see beans from there. This is a must for coffee people visiting Manila.

I've been here twice for coffees when in Makita, trying both filter and an oat flat white (both hot). Excellent coffee, they offer a number of different beans, a local blend and other single origin beans. Enjoyed the atmosphere, the cafe cat and the staff were lovely and friendly too. Hard one to beat!

Google
A nice place but the staff are a bit unenthusiastic in not really smiling or speaking to you first. Isn’t that part of the job to be welcoming and offer a menu, speak out loud, suggest seating upstairs or downstairs, etc… On the plus side they have wifi, though the password could be typed rather than handwritten.

I tried Commune after seeing it on Jessica Lee’s vlog on YouTube and it didn’t disappoint!!! I love love love their aligue pasta. Super flavorful and rich. I just wish the bread served with it was garlic bread, I think it would suit the dish even better. The calamansi on the side works really well, though! I also tried the carrot cheesecake, and it was just the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet, which is a compliment coming from me. The staff were really nice and accommodating too. Definitely coming back here again!

It's a nice place and nice staff. Although when we visited they only had 3 personnels so it took a while to getbour orders. Over all we enjoyed our visit. Happy to check it out of my list to visit. Good to visit when you arr around in the Makati area.

We are residents here in Poblacion, this place is our go to cafe and wine bar in our area. The best coffee paired with very good food, the customer service is impeccable! Interior design is a mix of old and modern Filipino. Must visit when in Poblacion Makati

Yelp
This cafe is ADORABLE. I'm here in the Philippines visiting my parents and Commune was recommended to me by some friends back home. I only ordered a pour over, and wow, you can taste the quality of their coffee beans! If I lived here, I would spend my mornings here! I didn't order food, but the menu looked great. The service was also great!

Yelp
Mango latte with graham crackers was excellent. The mango bits were more than ample. Sitting at their rooftop as Saturday turns from day to night right next to all the tangled electrical wiring is nothing short of the Idyllic experience in Poblacion.

Yelp
Ordered a sandwich and it was good. Service was quick and server was knowledgeable. Ambience no doubt a great place to hangout. Coffee is a must. Been here a few times will definitely recommend this place. Check it out.

Yelp
I'm so glad I discovered this cafe. I was waiting on friends who were next door getting tattoos. I tried the grilled cheese sandwich and also had a decaf latte. No complaints from me! :)

Yelp
My favourite place to get away in the mornings. Not only do they serve such great brunch food but their coffee I would say would be one of the best in the PH (for me at least)! As someone who goes back not too often, I always find myself making my way over here at least once for a visit! It's worth a try! Maybe even more than once ;) Don't doubt my word! Give it a try!

Yelp
Ordered that evening an iced camomile tea, spam fries, pork longganisa pasta and a sandwich (forgotten which one I had ordered). The spam fries were seriously addictive, its such a Filipino staple and loved how they included this! The pork lonnganisa was lovely, however they could have added more meat which was seriously lacking. Nothing really special with the items we ordered, but it was filling and comforting... Yelp
I'm rating it at a 3 cause I have only gone to it once, and still undecided. I ordered an Iced Toddy. It was a strong but quality for the price-point fell short Their Choco Chip w/ Sea Salt cookie is good. But dang, P120. Though, it's an easy split for 2. But STILL, P160?! It's not even an ice cream sandwich. The interior and ambiance of the place is nice though. I can see myself being productive here. That, and they have a custom, long community table that's nice for photogenic flat lays against their big mirrored storefront

Yelp
Nice cafe in Makati, Manila. Good variety of espresso and coffee drinks. They also have a limited food menu with a distinctly Filipino twist. I had a large americano and warm pandesal with fresh tomato slices and seasoned cream cheese. Tasty and refreshing! The service was good and the interior decor modern. The location is a little hard to find and parking is nonexistent, but the locals seem to know exactly where it is as there is plenty of foot traffic and patrons are there throughout the day. Like many establishments in Metro Manila, they offer Smart Wi-Fi. I believe you must register a local cell phone number and purchase credits, although it appears you get some free credits at registration. All in all, a good option for a place to hang out and enjoy coffee and eats in the area.

Yelp
Commune is a place that clearly stands in the "in vogue" category; it's got a unmarked, plain door (with no handle) that when opened reveals a chill, lively interior. Inside you'll see books and all manner of reading material stacked and scattered everywhere; there's also a calendar of events and the special menu items of the day written on chalk boards on the walls. Tip: With a name like Commune, it's a safe bet that you'll find several tables centrally placed which are intended to be shared; the bar is also very centrally placed, and is designed to allow patrons to easily observe how the mixologists prepare their drinks. Over and above some seriously legit cocktails, the pastries served at Commune are plentiful, ginormous, and not excessively sweet. My personal favorite is their huge choco chip cookie - they call it that because instead of chocolate chips, its topped with choco medallions. If savory rather than sweet is what you're craving, I suggest trying one of their delicious crostinis. These are made with toppings like hummus, tuna, and cheese pimiento - great for either snacking or starters :-) Another favorite of mine served here are the iced Americanos; these feature an exceptional balance of smoothness and flavor. The tangled iced tea is also quite good, with a very fresh taste and a natural sweetness. Bottom line: Whether you prefer their private dining area, the bar, or the communal tables, Commune is an excellent place to visit; highly recommended!

Yelp
Ok this place got me at 3d coffee art that I had to go in. When I went in, I asked the barista if he could make a hello kitty 3d coffee art and he made it happen which made my day. Their calamansi muffin is also delish. I would come back here for sure. Very chill and the staff is super nice.

Yelp
I've always liked Commune, way back when it was still in Salcedo Village. While I was gutted that they transferred all the way to Poblacion, I'm also stoked that area finally has a proper cafe of its own. Commune 2.0 is a bit more homey as it kinda lost the "Makati business" vibe when it transferred. That's not necessarily a bad thing, ha. And because this is Commune, you will definitely see people come in to write, to connect, to work, to incubate. If the old Commune was a fantastic incubator/public space despite of its size, the new Commune should be even better.

Yelp
The service was really great here; the workers are nice and are willing to accommodate you. I was able to do some work here while waiting for my taxi to the airport. I ordered nachos that were quite delicious because of the cheese they made! Also, as a traveler, I wasn't able to access the wifi because I did not have a filipino phone numbers. However, they offered me the option to access it for cheap (20 pesos). Once again, awesome place!

Yelp
Saw this coffee shop last night while exploring the side streets surrounding Makati Ave so today, I agreed to meet my old friend/classmate for a late morning latte. I had the cappuccino with the art. The turbinado sugar pairs well.

Yelp
Commune has always been home for me even when it was still in Liberty Plaza. It's a comfort to know that there's a great coffee shop that serves only Philippine coffee. The cafe is not yet entirely complete as of time of writing and the continuous development of the menu and the actual place is exciting. There's always something new to look forward to on my next visits. I've been to several events in the new place and the second floor is just right for its purpose.

Yelp
Commune is a brand new coffee bar that has opened up close to Kalayaan Ave. Their place consists of two floors, the top floor allows people to smoke, and the lower floor has a classic looking cafe. So far, service seems to be great; everyone was nice, and most people that came here were either reading or just doing a bit of work. Bonus points: the wifi is pretty good here. I've only had their coffee, which looked fancy (foam shaped like a cat). Unfortunately, the coffee disappointed, which I felt was weird, as they have coffee magazines lying around, and a super fancy coffee machine. Perhaps, the staff hasn't been probably trained yet? Who knows... Besides that, this places has potential, and I be returning to hang out here again.

Yelp
I have gone to the new Polaris location long before it has even opened its cafe area. I was already frequenting the place when it was still only the upstairs area that was functional, and when there was still an awful lot of drilling, hammering, and welding going on. I love the place because of the speedy internet connection, the great coffee, and the great conversations that I always have with the staff; the chef, Miguel; and the owner, Ros, who is so very enthusiastic about all things coffee, community, and communication. I just love how the place feels like something I can call my very own, because I feel welcomed and pampered every time I'm here. My favorite thing to get is the latte, which I always request to be given to me with 3D foam art. They never fail to amaze me with cute and furry (sorry, I meant foamy) creations that make my day. You cannot look at these cute foam creatures and not smile. Plus, the communal tables always set me up for great conversations with strangers, who, in time, have become really good friends. If you are up for events that relish creativity, interaction, art, and travel, Commune also regularly holds seminars, meet-ups, talks, and exhibits about just about anything, making it a multi-functional gathering space that just breathes life into boring workdays. You can be feverishly typing at your computer downstairs one moment, and then attending a watercolor workshop upstairs the next. I live in far-flung Katipunan, but you can regularly find me in Commune, typing away at my laptop. Call me obsessed - this coffee shop is my very own comfort couch.

Yelp
The perfect place for a much-needed caffeine fix in Makati. The cafe is a little out of the way/difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area but well worth a visit. Thank you for letting us rinse your relatively speedy wifi. Everyone working here was super friendly!

Yelp
I absolutely love this cafe! I was staying in the hostel across the street (Our Melting Pot, would also go there again), and this was a great place to grab coffee or do some work. The atmosphere was perfect, and I found myself easily lost in work for hours there. Over the weekend I spent in Manila, I went to Commune three times! Their coffees and teas are great, and all the snacks looked amazing. I'm sad I don't live in the area, as this is one of my new favorite cafes.
