Colca Canyon

Stunning addition to our trip in Peru! Moderately challenging hikes that are 10/10 worth it. I recommend picking up a pair of hiking poles and packing lightly for the trek. We used all trails to navigate in/around/out of the canyon and had absolutely no issues- I recommend this over using a tour company because you get to choose your pace/ and spend as much time as you want exploring.

Beautiful valley, stunning views. We did the tour and got to see about 20 or so Condors around 9.45/10am. Afternoon was spent doing the zip line and the hot springs nearby.

Did an overnight trek in 2009. Beautiful scenery, and was impressive to see condos flying over. The hike downhill into the canyon is pretty brutal on the knees though (by way of comparison I did the 4 day Lares trek a week before with no problem at all), if your knees aren't in great shape would be worth wearing knee straps or getting a hiking pole to make it easier.

Was lucky enough to spot a lot of condors on my visit! Still in awe at how beautiful the scenery was. And of course the great tour guide from Peru Peru Expeditions was the cherry on top.

It is an amazing experience to reach el Cañon del Colca in Arequipa. It is the world's third deepest canyon in the world. You will have the opportunity to see the nearby villages and the many activities they provide. Once you reach el mirador la Cruz del Cóndor, you will be delighted to see the condors as they fly across the sky and dive deep into the canyon. Sunscreen, hat and water are a must during this helada season. Walk at your own pace to enjoy the beautiful views and take lots of pictures, cheers! ✨️

Arequipa is an incredible experience overall and surprisingly affordable! Known as the White City, Arequipa boasts charming architecture and a vibrant culture that makes every visit special. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the breathtaking Colca Canyon. The landscapes of Colca Canyon are absolutely unbelievable. The vast, rugged beauty of the canyon leaves you in awe, and it's a fantastic place to connect with nature. The tranquility and peacefulness you find there are unmatched. It's a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Walking along the canyon, you can truly appreciate the serene environment and the stunning views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Watching the majestic condors glide through the air is an experience in itself. Arequipa adds to the experience with its unique blend of historical sites and modern amenities. The combination of the city's unique charm and the breathtaking beauty of Colca Canyon makes for a memorable visit.
