Coffee Department

Coffee department is one of my favourite cafes in Istanbul and especially in the neighbourhood of Balat. The staff is super friendly and welcoming with foreigners and everyone! Their English is not the best but they are always willing to help and serve you with the best customer service ever I found in that neighbourhood. Totally recommended.

Was looking for a cool place with a high quality of coffee to cool down and chill for a moment after walking in Balata under the sun. I had black roasted iced coffee and was the best.

This is my favorite coffee shop Istanbul, and the coffee is the best I had! They roast their own too, so great place to buy beans for home. Good vibes and music, and the staff is kind and friendly.

5 Star Coffee experience in Istanbul. Great Price and a great quality. You can enjoy your Coffee in a laid back Café with a realy friendly host. Enjoy a flat white while watching the people strolling trough the neighberhood.

Amazing cold brew. Just beautiful. Perfect beans, perfectly brewed. Would looove to drink more of it. I loved friendly baristas too. Flat white was ok. The coffee shop is small has it's atmosphere, but honestly it's a bit shabby. Not so cosy as I expected 🤭 There're two small tables outside, but the street is a bit too busy to relax and enjoy your coffee. Free wifi and a toilet are present btw ;) You can buy home roasted beans here, but the stuff is not very good in english, so it can become a challenge to choose the beans you need ;)

I made a special trip to try their coffee after finding out that they are rated very high for their coffee. The place is small and easily missed. Up on entry i was greeted by a lady with a great smile. The latte i was served was strong and tasted kinda bitter so i was offered a second one and it was much more better and almost perfect. Is there room for improvements?, i think yes. It would have been great to have a croissant with the coffee instead of a cake. And i did expect to smell some coffee aroma upon entry, but i did not. I would definitely go again.

This place is not only a coffee shop but it’s a roastery. So you can get freshly roasted and brewed coffee there. Well educated and kind staff, descriptive English cards for every coffee, and delicious coffee. It’s pearl of the Balat district!

Very nice coffee shop with a nice interior and exterior seating area. I had a cappuccino and what I think was a sort of apricot bread and both were good!

I decided to give this place another chance after it was recommended by a personal friend, whom said that their V60 filter coffee was quite good. And honestly, while I thought the Ethiopian Chelchele tasted a bit sour, it was quite flavourful and I could taste the floral notes. Beats Starbucks&Co. for sure. And for 12₺, I think it's the best bang for your buck, since one pot of coffee equals almost exactly 2 cups of coffee, and for 6₺ per cup, I think the price is very reasonable. Also I learned a couple of new things, apparently you can buy the coffee beans, they cost 35₺ for 250g, and also the equipment to go along with it. All things considered, I decided to bump up this place by a star and I would recommend this place for their filter coffee. It's not the best coffee I had in Istanbul, and I wouldn't come here just for the coffee, but if you're in the neighborhood, feel free to swing by.
